Review: I sent my faulty dual alarm clock/radio/cd player to the S[redacted] address as told to me by their representative. After several months of not receiving my replacement I called again. This time only a recorded message to go on line for communication with the company. I have sent several messages and have not received any reply. None of the phone numbers listed work. I have a claim # [redacted]. I sent the player on 5-**-13. Has this company just disappeared?Desired Settlement: The representative told me that they would send me a replacement within 2 months. I hope to receive a new clock radio/cd player before the end of the month. The company has all my information so I do not understand what's the hold up.

Review: Below is the last 2 emails I sent to Coby, this explains the problem..

The unit would not turn on and was defective.

Then I was told for several weeks that it was there but they are still reviewing it.

Then I was told that the tablet was going to be replaced but they did not have it in stock.

Then I was told the tablet would be replaced with a newer model because the model I sent back was out of date and no longer available.

Then I was told that they were moving from Georgia to California.

Then I was told for 2 weeks that the spreadsheet had not been updated.

Then I was told for 2 weeks that it was on the docks but not shipped and they didn’t’ know why.

Then I was told that they were sending the original model number.

Now when I call the phone number ###-###-#### that I have been calling for months it says to go to the website.

I feel like I am getting the run around. This should have been shipped back to me in July.

If you can’t send a new tablet in the next few days then please refund the purchase price of $170.88 plus the $15.00 that I was told I had to pay for the return shipping.

Please send a check for $185.88

I am including the original letter that I sent with the tablet back in May and the invoice.

Please resolve this issue promptly.

I had to send a chaiers check for $15.00 return shipping but if they can't send the unit back I should get a refund for the $15.00 as well. So $170.88 + $15.00 = $185.88.

Review: I had originally purchased a Coby Kyros MID7042 Android Tablet in June of 2012 and had sent it in for repair in December of 2012 and was sent an MID7065 replacement. At the end of April the screen was cracked from accidental handling in which I had sent this particular item back in repair/replacement on May *, 2013 where it was delivered to their warehouse on [redacted] May *, 2013. I had called them a few times in May to find out if they had received the item to which they had informed me that they didn't see in their records to where it wasn't logged in yet and to give them 10-14 days and to call back again to check the status then. I had called back in 14 days per their request and this is was where they had informed me that the warehouse had been moved and that it would take them a week or so in order to get reorganized. I gave them that time and called back to check the status of the repair/replacement of my tablet. This is when I noticed that either my calls were being ignored or that they were busy possibly. I called back the next day and waited for the automated system to acknowledge my response to speak with an agent and after that the call was disconnected. This went on for at least 1-2 weeks with the same results as my previous calls. I have even attempted to contact their HQ in NY and got the same thing as from the warehouse customer service.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my money refunded for the price of the tablet and the $45 money order that I sent for the repair/replacement of this tablet.

Review: When calling Coby or emailing Coby at the numbers and email addresses no response occurs. The Coby web site provides no resolution to the issues that are occurring with their MID9742 devices.

Issues:

Both devices fail to boot even when fully charged.

Both devices have factory restores done on them at least 6 or more times in the last 8 months.

Both devices have issues with WIFI signals and we have had to change WIFI settings to get them to work monthly, seemingly at random.Desired Settlement: I request that Coby does any of the following:

1. Send 2 new, working units that do not exhibit any of the issues listed in our problem.

2. Refund our purchase prices (215 each)

3. Send 2 new units of another major brand of equal capacity (screen size, memory footprint, abilities...)

Review: I purchased a tv/dvr unit in December and it stopped working in June. They told me to mail the product and a check for s/h to them and I would receive a new unit within 6-8 weeks. It has now been four months with no response. Their phone number is a recording and no one has responded to my emails.Desired Settlement: I would either like a replacement unit or a refund of the purchase price.

Review: I bought my son the Coby Kyros – Ice Cream Sandwich black tablet (4GB MID8042-4G) from Toys R Us (Item#:[redacted]) January 2013 as a birthday present. In Total I paid $219.33 ($179.99 for the tablet and $24.99 for the 15 months Protection Plan). Sometimes in March 2013 the Tablet screen cracked. I called Coby Electronics at [redacted] to find out what I needed to do to get it repaired. They told me the screen repair was not covered under warranty or under the $24.99 15 months Protection Plan. I was quite disappointed to hear the screen repair was not covered. But I asked how much does it cost to get it fix and how soon would I get it back. The Coby Employee told me “it should take 4 to 6 weeks to fix it". You need to send a money order for $55.00 dollars payable to Coby Electronics (Seven 11 money order number #[redacted]) with the tablet and mail it to the address below:

I mailed the tablet via UPS mail (UPS Tracking #[redacted]) on April *, 2013 and I paid $10.99 for delivery. Within a week or two I called to find out if they received it. The Coby employee told me they received it but it was not being worked on yet.

Below is history on my 14 phone calls to get a status on the tablet and the information provided by the various employees who answered my calls:

1. I called 6/*/2013 and spoke to [redacted] who told me: “The tablet was discontinued and it needs to be upgraded to a newer model. [redacted] was going to send an email today 6/*/2013 to get a status.” He told me to call again in a week!!!

2. I called 6/**/2013 - Talked to [redacted] – who told me they processed the tablet on 5/** – we should be getting it the 1st or 2nd week in July. Recommended I call again the last week in June or 1st week in July.

3. I called on 6/**/2013 - Talked to [redacted] Employee [redacted]) who said the tablet was prepared for shipping on 6/**/2013 but it was not showing a tracking number yet. [redacted] told me to call back on Tuesday, July [redacted] to see if a tracking number is available.

4. I called July * and then 7/*/2013 – Talked to [redacted] who said their delivery was pushed back to July [redacted] therefore their process shipment was being delayed. He also added that [redacted] of July week they were closed for inventory…hence why it may not have gone out. He said hold on tight – it might go out this coming Thursday.

5. I called 7/**/13….spoke [redacted] (supervisor) Employee [redacted] who said it might go out this week but we can’t say!!!

6. I Called Toys R Us 7/**/13 and talked to [redacted] (reference number [redacted]) – She took down my information about my issues with Coby Electronics and she said there isn’t much Toys R Us can do for me since I sent the tablet to be repaired by Coby.

7. I called Coby Electronics 7/**/2013 and talked to [redacted] who said “we didn’t get the shipping report yet and something about (they pushed 7/* process the shipping request). I even asked [redacted] – what would you do if this is your child’s product you can’t get a reasonable answer as to why it has taken so long to fix and return? He told me to call Corporate office…Consumer Care at Coby Electronic USA – [redacted].

8. 7/**/13 I Called Corporate office…Consumer Care at Coby Electronic USA – [redacted]. The Operator never picks up and you can’t leave a message (no space for recording)! Customer Service line is always busy ###-###-####. And the Metro NY Warehouse phone number ###-###-#### is not in service.

9. 7/**/2013 Talked to [redacted] who said there is no updated spreadsheet since 7/*.

10. 7/**/2013 Talked to [redacted] again and I told him I have no way to get in touch with anyone in Consumer Care at Coby Electronic USA. The Operator never picks up and you can’t leave a message (no space for recording)! Customer Service line is always busy ###-###-####. And the Metro NY Warehouse phone number ###-###-#### is not in service. I don’t have anyone’s name to contact there either. [redacted] told me to search their directory for [redacted] from Customer Care. I told [redacted] I may have to report this to the Revdex.com.

11. 7/**/2013 I searched for [redacted] in consumer care group - [redacted] ext. [redacted] and I left her a message.

12. 7/**/2013 I left [redacted] in consumer care group - [redacted] another message.

13. 7/**/2013 3rd message to [redacted] in consumer care group - [redacted] – telling her that since I can’t get an answer as to where my son’s tablet is from her or their support Center I was going to report it to the Revdex.com. [redacted] never called me back.

14. 7/**/2013 Talked [redacted] (supervisor) Employee [redacted] – [redacted] told me today their warehouse is closed for inventory for the month of July. I told [redacted] you have my son’s tablet for over three months now. The repair period should have been 4 to 6 weeks. I am reporting this to the Revdex.com. This is unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I want $285.32 dollars back. This is for $219.33 ($179.99 + tax and $24.99 for the 15 months Protection Plan, Screen Repair Cost = $55.00, and delivery to Coby Electronics via UPS to get it fix = $10.99. This is a child’s tablet and chances are I would need to send it for repair again in the future. Coby Electronics failed to comply with their 4 to 6 weeks repair policy. Coby Electronics kept my son’s table long enough they should keep it. Coby Electronics is not the company I would want to invest my time and money on.

Review: I purchased a coby kyros mid7015b 7" android 2.3 brand new on may **, 2014, when I RECEIVED IT ON 5/**/14 IT DID NOT WORK. It was supposed to be brand new in box which it seemed like it was, but this item does not work at all. I paid 69.99 for the item, and I would like a new replacement or my money back. I have the receipt for the item.Desired Settlement: replacement or refund as long as I get what I paid for, also there is no way to reach there customer service or warranty service.

Review: I have returned a Coby tablet to be fixed under the one year warranty. It has been 3 months since I sent this product in to Coby. Recently, every number I have called on the website does not work. Also, I have emailed them tons of times and have gotten no answer. My name is [redacted] and my wife sent our daughters' coby tablet to the Coby Warranty Return Center [redacted] on April [redacted]. She was told that we would be sent a new tablet because they were unable to get the tablet working after troubleshooting. She was told it would be about 6-8 weeks. My wife has called numerous times and has received several emails saying that the tablet was on the dock and waiting to be shipped. She received that email around July the [redacted]. She soon received another saying the warehouse would be closed for the 4th week. She called several times after the 4th. The last time she was able to physically speak to someone at the ###-###-#### was on the [redacted] of July. Now whenever you call it prompts you to go to the website cobyusa.com. She spoke with a [redacted] at that time and he stated that he did not know where the tablet was because they had not gotten an updated list from Coby. The requested money order for 15.00 was cashed on June [redacted] to process the old unit and send a new one. I have sent several emails and called their customer service numbers. I have not not not received any responses to any left voicemails or emails sent. Here are a couple of the emails that were sent to us, showing that it was in the process of being shipped:

Hello! Customer Service has not received an updated shipping report this week, so I am unable to verify if your unit has been shipped out yet. The report from last week only shows that it was processed for shipping on July [redacted].

Review: I purchased a Tv made by Coby that quit working correctly within the first 12 months from when it was purchased. I contacted their technical support department and they referred me to send an e-mail to the consumercare department to make a warranty claim. They said I should be contacted within 48 hrs of my e-mail. I sent them 2 e-mails on July [redacted], along with my phone number, and I have yet to be contacted.Desired Settlement: I am requesting to have this TV replaced with a TV of the same/similar make, model, and specifications.

Review: The table I had purchased needed to be repaired. I called the company that sent me an email with directions on how to send it back and the address. The package was sent in June along with the $15 return mailing money order. I tracked it online and realized that the package was not accepted due to an incorrect address. I called the company and they said they moved. He said that he would speak to a supervisor about the situation and call me back. The call was never returned. In the meantime, I kept calling the Post Office to see where the package went because it never got sent back. Eventually it made its way to the location. This whole ordeal started back at the end of June. I called the company two weeks ago but only got a recording to go online. I emailed twice to the email address given online. At that point I went online and found many complaints very similar (if not exact) posted on websites. I also call the New York number and the one listed for Canada. I got no answer.Desired Settlement: The tablet needs to be fixed and returned as they stated it would be.

Review: Sept 2012, While visiting NYC, I purchased two (2) Coby Kyros internet tablets. I used them about a month, then put them up to take on trips, etc. When preparing for my next trip. I plugged them in to charge. While it was charging I tried to open the tablet by using the unlock code. It also will not take a charge. I forgot them and tried to get help by calling them. I could not get past automated phone system. It just referred me to a web site for information. So I decided to send them an email. They never responded within a week so I wrote a letter to explain the situation. It has been over a month and I still have not heard from them. The address and phone number they have listed on the booklet that came with the units are: [redacted] Phone #, ###-###-####. All this information I just provided is what is in the book that came with the units. All I wanted was to have the units repaired or replaced, as they should have been under warranty. If they were not, I asked them to let me know the approximant cost I would have to bare. As of today, 10/**/2013 I have not heard a word from them.Desired Settlement: To get these two units repaired or replaced free of charge as all the frustration I have had to put up with over the past two months that I have been trying to contact them.

This company never contacted regarding my complaint. The Address and phone number provided with the product in question was wrong. I first tried phoning them got a recording saying to the website and help. Web site was unable to fix the problem. Next, I wrote a letter to them and it never came back undeliverable, so assumed it had been forwarded. About three weeks later I contacted Revdex.com and found out that the address was in fact changed and Revdex.com notified them and two weeks later and no response. I know one thing for sure, I will never buy another product from Coby or any other unknown company. It is not worth all the headaches when trying to get a problem resolved. Especially when you can not talk to a live body.

Review: I sent my Coby tablet in for repair under warranty. I followed their instructions and included a money order for return shipping. The company has since went out of business. They were purchased by [redacted] who states that are not legally obligated to uphold any warranty related issues. I have lost my $180 tablet as well as the $20 I sent for return shipping and no one is being held accountable. I have seen similar stories posted on the internet.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the tablet replaced or a refund of $200.

Review: I sent my 19" tv to be repaired early this year. I mailed it to [redacted]. It is now 6 months since I sent it to them and I want to know when I will have it back and if they will repair, replace or refund my money. The cost of the tv was $210.94. Review: I received a Coly Internet Tablet Model # MID8065 as a free gift from [redacted] for my school. When I received the tablet, I followed all the instructions and the tablet just did not work. I called the number included in the packaging and when I called the number I was told the system was down and that I would get a $100.00 gift card. I only called to ask for help with the tablet in the event I did something wrong. I was then connected to someone that told me about the $100.00 gift card and that it would cost $4.95 to get the card. I told them I was not interested in a gift card, that I only want to get help with the tablet. I was told to call back in 15 minutes. I called back and I got an offer for a vacation if I took a survey and I had to press 1 to take the survey. I only wanted to get help with the tablet so I did not press 1 I just waited for the operator. I was disconnected. I called a third time and I got the $100.00 gift card story again. I said all I wanted was help with the tablet. Then he said, "What's the problem? Why don't you want the $100.00?" At this point I got angry and said, "This is stupid! All I want is help with is a product your company sales, I don't want a gift card, just help." Then he said, "No problem, just call ###-###-####, which is the number for information. I called [redacted] and they apologized for the mix-up and assured me that I would have a totally new tablet by the end of this week. Well as of today 12/**/2014 I have not received it for my school, but we order from [redacted] all the time and have never had a problem with their service or productsDesired Settlement: I am concerned that Coby could not simply provide technical support and tried to give me or sell me something. It was not a personal purchase from [redacted], but a school purchase so I did not think it was right to get a gift card (I could of spent it on things for the library) or a vacation. The thing that hurt the most was that I never got the help that I needed and they were pressuring to buy something.

Review: Purchased an Android 4.0 Touchscreen Tablet through walmart.com on June **, 2012. By about March of 2013, the screen came loose in one area, so I called customer service and they told me how to send it in to get it either fixed or probably replaced--as it was still under warranty. On May **, 2013 I shipped it to the [redacted] location with a $15 money order. After waiting the 8 weeks for the return of the tablet, I began calling and emailing Coby, but was unable to reach anyone at anytime. I guessed they may have gone out of business, but wasn't certain. Very frustrated with the poor product and the failure to honor their warranty.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the cost of the tablet ($94.48) plus the money order of $15--total of $109.48. I have proof of the costs I wish to be refunded.
