My apartment was burglarized the late night of August **, I lost my phone, jewelry, computer, my rent and savings etcI no longer felt safe in my homeIt took over a week to get a new phone, and I did not have access to a computer for some timeI started looking for a new place, so I could once again feel safeI signed up with roomster looking for a roommate situation, I was having no luck since you cannot view messages from peopleI decided to go ahead an pay $for a day trial just to read the messages I had sitting in my inboxEvery one of them was a dudThe next day, I found a wonderful lady outside of roomster who was willing to help me get in to her apartment and work with me given my situationThat day I tried canceling my subscription with roomster, but I kept getting an error via the appBeing locked out of all of my emails, up until yesterday, 8/**/16, I could not send them an official request to cancel by emailI am a bookkeeper by trade, and I prefer t
I signed up for a small access to *** (no subscription) They have been charging me without my authorization I’ve canceled my account with them online, however they are still charging me I have tried to call the number, but you can only leave a voicemail I have searched their site for other numbers to call with no luck Please stop this company from charging my account I would like them to stop charging my account and refund payment made June and July
My son rented a room on *** as a verified listing, and signed a lease with the person via email in The Boston areaThe first month and security deposit was sent by wire to her and received by her with confirmation code with my identification information as I am his mom
Then about a week later my son received an email from the mother of the girl he signed with, stating that she was going to rent to another person and would refund the moneyThe mother stated that the new person was going to pay the whole months rental upfront, and she asked my son if would he like to be refundedHe said since you are renting to someone else then yes I want to be refunded, and since then they keep saying that they sent it and nothing shows up They also sent a different bank account and said the extra money for the other months rent could be sent there even when he said he wanted a refund When he text her to check on the money she keeps saying in a stern way that they need my full n
This company engages in crooked business practicesThey blatantly ignore requests not to be contacted by businesses on websites such as CraigslistSave yourself the trouble of their useless service that doesn't workThis company will soon be sold because it is a flop
I subscribed for a free week trialThey saved my card information and continue billing my periodically
List of a room on Craigslist and for two days have gotten totally spammed buy fake notifications of interested parties and everyone leads back to the room store sign up formThis is advertising or misrepresentation at the very least
On the website at the time of purchase it seemed that I purchased a day trail of using their servicesAt no time was it advertised as "subscription" or did they indicate that after days they will use the credit card information you enter to automatically charge you another per monthI tried contacting them but they do not have a phone number, you need to use their website to interact with their customer supportI found their customer support to be rude when requesting my funds back for the two months charged without my consent at $which they were not willing to do even though I only used it for those weeksI never consented to automatic charges or a subscriptionApparently at time of purchase on the website (despite the website representing the purchase as a one time purchase for a period of time, either days, a week, weeks, or whatever), they will send you an email afterwards saying they will automatically charge your card each month unless you cancelI am not a lawyer but I guess might legally defend their actions however the way that the site actually markets their product at the time of purchase is very deceptiveI find it misleading, unethical and predatory in nature
They post fake ads to lure you their siteThey initially ask for a subscription for a low fee of like $5.95to use their siteOnce that subscription is over, they automatically subscribed me again for $I did not authorize that transaction and tried to reach them to resolve this but have no phone numberI asked them via their online support but they're no help
So I bought a day service to try the website out and then after and a half days I get charged 29, I complained to them about it and said they would give me my refund but for but I have not received that either and its been about a month now
I signed up for a three day trial for full use of the siteIt was advertised as being charged for just about $I figured I would be locked out when it was completeHowever, I was charged about $for a full subscriptionNever did I get an email giving my permission to go through with a full subscription
I got an email saying I was charged so I logged in and tried to cancelI thought it went through and to be totally sure I sent an email hoping to be refunded and cancel my accountI figured that was it and I would be refundedIt even says of you cancel right after being charged you will get your money back
I have been emailing back and forth and they refuse to refund meI am being penalized for not being able to understand their site because they provide such little informationI have requested a phone number to speak with someone (after all, their customer service emails feature a photo of someone in a headset) but they refuse to provide it
I was in the hospital very ill and I signed up for a day trial on March ***desperate to find a roommate
I get a notification from my bank today, saying I have over draftedI am so saddened by this and I feel truly taken advantage ofAll I did was post a listingI didn't respond to anything, I pretty much forgot about this website, because I was in the hospital when I signed up Yeah yeah, I spoke with the horrendous customer service agents that kindly responded with template emails that made no sense, which just reiterated *** I already know( like how to access billing information} Not to mention the sarcastic, robotic language of the template "we're sorry you feel this way even though we CLEARLY say that your subscription will skyrocket at the end of your trial and we'll store your CC information within our systems" How extremely rude, an inane Why would ANYONE pay for this service? I looked at the inbox today and everything seems to be fake, or the people "mat
Terrible platform full of spammers and scammers! Wasted $for a month subscription in Nov-Dec for Southern California areaGot one reply from a landlord that was never available to show the place (smelled like scam), and got legit contact from a landlord not close to the desired areaGot many, many spam messages and questionable solicitations and invitations
Fake profiles photos of attractive females pretending to own a house with rooms for rentThey do not respond to any messages you sent in order to make business transactionsThere are fees to pay as why you can't receive any response backDid a week subscription and my card was automatically charged $for another daysAfter paying these fees, I still haven't found a room to rent and never got any messages back from the "owners"being very suspicious, I immediately froze my bank account to prevent any more future charges
This company is definitely a SCAMThey secretly charge you a reoccurring charge of $after your "Trial" is overNot sure about everyone else but I expect for the trial to be over and that's itNot to be charged $to use a website when craigslist is just as sketchy and completely freeAfter you complain of the charges they have a *** employee copy and paste what they say to everyone they scamNow they're going to reply to this saying it's a lieGo ahead-waiting-
Roomster's management ought to be ashamed of themselves, preying upon people of lower means with their fraudulent scams! You disgust me and I'll be sure to spread the word on campus and on social media about your crooked, exploitative practices
As hundreds of others noted here, I payed $for a day membership, under the impression that, if I didn't cancel within those days, another $would be charged to my credit card --which was fine with me I am careful when I sign up to things like this and read the fine print
Lo and behold, instead of $5.95, out of nowhere I get charged $and given a "Full Membership" for a month, and denied a refund when I hadn't even entered the site at all after the initial days
When I asked for a refund they sent a template reply which stated that I signed up for the $when I didn't cancel the day membership and that I was free to cancel anytime, but without offering to refund me a prorated fee --which is stated that they offer in their Terms page
This company is the worse, as you can see by their rating Avoid like the grifters that they are
I signed up for a 30-day trial subscription on 8/**/ I just found out they charged my credit card $n 9/**, 10/** and 11/** without my consent I notified the company within days of the initial trial that I was cancelling my trial subscription They did not have my consent to charge my credit card for three more months of service beyond the initial trial
Roomster Corp is a shady business that pays people to respond to Roommate ads on services like Craigslist to try and persuade you to sign up for their servicesSo someone will respond to a roommate ad and give you a link to go to which goes to Roomster and they will state they prefer to communicate through that service onlyThe only way to sign up is to connect with Facebook and at that point Roomster has all your personal information and friends list from FacebookIf you respond to the response stating no thanks they try to get you to go there by telling you it's FREE! Nothing is free when you give away your personal information to them
It's a very shady practice to pay people to get customers the wrong wayI hope that this company goes out of business due to this nature and that people stay away from them due to these illegal practices
I signed up for a three day trial with Roomster and gave them permission to charge my debit card through Landmark Credit Union on 9/*/ This company then used my account info to charge me for a $one month fee I would like my money bank and the Revdex.com to look into finding out if this is illegal and pressing charges against this company so that this doesn't happen to others potential customers
Absolute scam! I paid for a week, noticed glitches in the app to include a faulty rent range selector and messages that were deleted by roomster, only for roomster to ignore these issuesAfter days of use, Roomster deleted my account with bogus claims of hate speech/promoting an agenda/complaints by roomstersThis is completely falseAll I did was to introduce myself to prospective roommates and messaged about rentals within commuting distance of my workRoomster took my money, didn’t honor the full week of service I paid for, and deleted my account because I had the audacity to contacts Roomster customer service regarding app glitches amd their horrible service!
Roomster is an internet scam in the truest senseI was using Craigslist to search for rooms to rent and contacted a handfulThe majority of them directed me via text to sign up for a Roomster account (they provided a link that was not clearly a link to Roomster but directed me there when I clicked on it) - then, and only then, would they contact me to set up a time to see the propertiesSo I signed up for a free account and searched Roomster for the listings, which were nowhere to be foundI waited several days and texted to follow upStill no responseThen Roomster informed me that I needed to subscribe to their service (for a fee) in order to be able to receive messagesSo I did that, and still no response from any of the rentals that promised to contact me for a showingOnce I paid the trial subscription fee and completed my profile, I started getting messages about available roomsI emailed these offers back, and when I asked to see the rooms, they gave some excuse like being on a short business trip, and asked me to make a hefty security deposit before seeing the propertyWhen I responded that I would prefer to see the room first and could wait until they returned from their trip, radio silenceSo I started looking into Roomster and found loads of negative reviews and scam reports onlineI am sad that I wasted my hard-earned money and valuable time on a useless serviceBut I am even sadder that such a fraudulent company is allowed to continue to exist and to continue to steal people's money
