Contacted customer about the delivery issues and we were able to move the customer's subscription to their new address. Customer account was credited from March 23 to current date. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at [redacted].

Customer has been an active subscriber for several years. The grace period and cancallation policy has not changed. Since The Bee gives a 90 day grace period to renew the subscription, the account is not stopped automatically. In this case, the subscription was started as part of a [redacted] offer on...

5/19/13. The account was paid for 26 weeks. The same offer was given to the customer on the first renewal notice 10/14/13. Ms. [redacted] made a payment on 11/21/13 for another 26 weeks. This time, the renewal notice was sent on 4/28/14. Ms.[redacted] paid again, this time for 13 weeks. A renewal notice was sent on 7/31/14 and another payment was made for another 26 weeks. A renewal notice was sent on 1/26/15. A 2nd renewal notice was sent on 3/16/15 and a 3rd renewal was sent on 4/20/15 before the account was stopped for non-payment on 5/16/15. This left an amount due of $18.48. All renewal notices state, 'the paper will continue automatically unless the Bee is notified otherwise.' The Bee provides our Customer Service number and the hours of operation to process a cancellation.There is not a check box to cancel the service. Like most businesses, The Bee likes to hear back from our readers on the reason for cancelling an account. Our goal is to keep our customers and gather feedback when a request is made to cancel a service. As fo today, this account has been adjusted to a zero balance and all collection efforts have been stopped. The [redacted] we contract with is a vendor used to send out last notifications of a bill. I am rejecting this response because: On January 26th, 2016 the MVP advertising paper was delivered by throwing it onto my driveway again!!  So the complaint has not been resolved.Why was it delivered again by throwing it on my driveway??  Please Stop!!

the paper is still delivered LATE, after 8:00. I expect the paper to be delivered before 7:30. Representatives of the Sacramento Bee advised me that on weekdays the paper should be delivered prior to 6:30 and on weekends it should be delivered prior to 7:30. Apparently this policy is not honored by the distributor, particularly not by the carrier. What additional action can I take to get this problem resolved.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.However, I wish to add that the Sacramento Bee is absolutely lying that they weren't notified of my cancellation.  There were in fact notified TWICE in writing as I mailed the invoice stubs back to them without payment.Thank you for your prompt resolution of this matter.  I look forward to evidence of continued public erosion of trust in the Sacramento Bee.

I am rejecting this response because: Sac Bee is showing unequal response. Others in the same situation had their accounts cleared of fees. I paid under duress with the threat of collections hung over our head. At no point did the representative inform us that the collection agency was not a credit reporting company. Further there was no clear evidence that there was any kind of reporting sent us that suggested that we would need to renew or cancel our contract our contract was for 52 weeks they sent us a grace period that we did not ask for and that they call it a grace period is offensive since then they charge you for it. At the very least this is a predatory practice and without relief I will be seeking further action

I am rejecting this response because: I have been told multiple times that the distributor would be talked to and yet I am still having this issue, I should not have to call every Sunday and request my paper. I guarantee that this will happen again this Sunday as well; a week here or there I understand but this has become rediculous. I receive the same answer each time and it is still not resolved so how am I to know it will be resolved this time? Luckily the Bee has an awesome field rep. that has personally brought me my paper but he shouldn't have to do that every weekend either. His name is [redacted] and he seems like a great employee, he has been the most helpful but this has still remained ongoing.

The Bee apologizes for the problems arising again. This information was given to the proper management back on 1/19/16 as a follow up. The last complaint on this customer's account was 1/12/16. The complaint was for a missing paper on 1/10/16 and a credit was applied to the account. The distributor was sent a reminder message on 1/24/16 to deliver the paper every Sunday. There have been no further complaints on the account since the reminder message was sent on 1/24/16. The distributor ans Regional Manager continue to have this customer's account on a 'high alert' list to confirm the Sunday delivery happens each week.Please feel free to contact us at [redacted]Thank you

The account shows service problems in November and December. The last call we received was on 12/10/15 reporting the 12/6/15 paper was never received. The Customer Service representative processed a credit on the account and sent an escalation to the distributor on 12/10/15 and 12/13/15. There were...

also 4 credits applied in November for missed papers. In addition, this address has been given to the Regional Manager for delivery follow up. In the meantime, The Bee has processed an additional 7 day credit on the account for all the trouble and inconvenience with the delivery. Customer started the subscription on 11/15/17. Customer called the automated for no paper on 11/15/17 and requested a credit for that day. She called again on 11/20/17 and reported she never received a paper on 11/15, nor 11/16-11/20. Customer spoke with a representative on 11/20. The representative...

processed the complaint and applied the 5 day credit. After 11/20/17, Ms. [redacted] did not notify us the problem continued until this Revdex.com complaint was filed. Customer was contacted and given this detail. Customer's account has been updated with this latest information and a credit has been applied for 11/21-11/30. As for a resolution, this information has been sent to the distributor and Regional Manager who handle home delivery. There should be a follow up in the morning and Ms. [redacted] should start receiving her paper. A request to contact the customer has also been sent to the distributor and regional manager. However, in order to be sure the account has the most update documentation, we do ask Ms. [redacted] to contact us and let us know if the problem is not resolved.
