I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of
the offer I reviewed appear belowGE's response to Revdex.com claim: "We have agreed to exchange this consumer's refrigerator"
I did not file a complaint to get a replacement refrigerator since GE is obligated to replace the defective unit which was sold to me for approximately $2100.
If GE read the complaint, they would understand the complaint was regarding their lack of customer attention, unnecessary delays, and unacceptable service provided. Why did it take GE nearly weeks from the day the defective unit was reported to the day replacement was delivered? Why did GE's advocate offer me a "comparable" refrigerator that would not fit in my home? Why did GE's advocate advise me that my unit was out of stock when another advocate advised me there were in stock (which caused yet another 5-business day delay in providing my family with a refrigerator). Why did I have to beg GE advocates for what I paid for? Why does GE think it's ok to have a valued consumer live without a properly working refrigerator for days? Also, why haven't I received a call from GE Appliances advocate following up on whether or not I received the new unit (as promised to me by GE advocate) and if I it arrived undamaged (which it arrived finally; and there is damage).
I filed this complaint in hopes that GE would audit and investigate how their advocate program works or in this case did not work. As per my original complaint, I am expecting GE to apologize for the poor service provided, as well as an apology for how they handled this situation. Now, I expect an apology for their lame and embarrassing response to this complaint.
It is obvious, based on GE's response to this complaint, GE does not take it's consumers complaints seriously and it further validates my initial complaint regarding poor attention and customer serviceThank you for helping resolve this issueRegards,

I reviewed appear belowI asked for a return of the appliance due to it's multiple problems, GE"s failure to have repair parts available in the area and GE's refusal to try to schedule appointments which didn't require my repeated absence from work. Although there is not a lemon law for appliances, this would have definitely qualified as one if there was such a law. Also, *** ***, GE representative, offered an additional full year parts and labor warranty (beginning Sept10, 2015) but has never extended this offer in writing to me or through his response to your agency. GE's own service representative recommended I receive a new appliance, which also apparently means little to the headquartersI still want to return this refrigerator. It has had too many problems for a six month old, very expensive, appliance Regards,

statement states that all warranty service work will be provided by our Factory Service Centers or by our authorized Cers during working hoursWe did not reach a point in the conversation where I could ascertain which specific publication number he was supplied in the event this standard statement was somehow omitted.

The request to send a part free of charge on a year old unit is unreasonable
We have offered to send the part at discounted price of $50. The part retails for $225.25.

I have spoken with Mrs*** and apologized for the trouble she's had with her GE gas dryer as well as the frustrations she's experienced with the consumer relations department
I informed her that the part is still on
backorder and currently has an ETA of 2/28. I told her that they are just ETA dates and they can change. I have sent a message to parts and will continue to keep her up to date on any changes
Although the appliance is out of warranty, Mrs*** is aware that the repair is going to be at no cost to her. We have also provided an extra 6-month warranty on the dryer which will begin after the repair has been completed. The alternative resolution was to offer a substantial discount on not only the dryer, but also the washer (since they are a match). She did not accept this offer and decided to wait on the backordered part
