Thank you for the opportunity to review this consumer's situation. I have spoken with Ms. [redacted] and apologized for the trouble she's had with her GE gas range. Although the unit is out of warranty, I agreed to honor a 25% discount on any parts or labor necessary to repair the unit.  Ms....

[redacted] is aware that she is responsible for the home call/trip fee in the amount of $99.95.  Her service call is currently scheduled for 7/28.  I told her that I would follow up with her after the repair.  She has accepted this as a fair resolution to her complaint. Thank you for the opportunity to review this consumer’s situation. I spoke with Ms. [redacted] regarding the issues with her GE dishwasher. GE has advised her that we will be replacing the dishwasher at no charge due to excessive service. The replacement order has been processed.

This was not the first time I had that repairman and disagreed with his diagnosis. Last year that technician was at my house last year for my new GE microwave door. It is (still) uneven, and my concern was the possibility of radiation seeping out. This same repairman looked at my microwave and said it was straight and that my kitchen cabinets were uneven!!! I will send you a picture if you would like proof of the crooked microwave door. I tested the radiation on my own after that! With this GE range issue, he looked at my range and said that's what it's supposed to do! It was black where the knobs were from the fire! [redacted] the FLAMES were as high as my microwave!!! I am thankful nobody was seriously injured. HOW is this NOT a safety issue?!!! GE offered $700.00 towards a new GE range. I was fine with that offer. The only request I had was not to have this repairman again at my house in the future. When GE would not guarantee that for me, yes, I purchased another brand range and asked for the SAME $700.00 reimbursement. I asked for reimbursement because the life of a range is 10 years and my range was shy of five years. I would never trust repairing any appliance under such circumstances. As far as speaking with two people in the president's Connecticut HQ, the first person was someone (receptionist?) who answered the phone, and switched me (after I asked not to be) back to the KY HQ! The second time I spoke with "someone" in the president's Connecticut HQ, I asked again not to be switched to the KY HQ, and that a decision be made at the CT office. Later that day (again) someone from the KY HQ returned my call with the rejection again of my request. I have never dealt with a company like GE and never will again deal with them. I hope this stays on record so that it may help the next consumer make their own decision with safety if they purchase a GE. I think this would be a huge liability for GE but, in my opinion, they would rather stand their ground than admit their fault.

For GE as a company they would really benefit from improving in that area.  As I told [redacted] their twitter feed is constant negative comments, and that should scare them.  I am optimistic after speaking with [redacted] that this issue is resolved. I have been authorized to get my dishwasher replaced with a newer model.

Received damage settlement on 1/09/17..  As stated in my email, I am inquiring about my personal time..

we have agreed to an exchange for this consumer.  she is only paying for the installation.

I spoke to the consumer again.  All of the other issues have been resolved and a 2nd rebate check is coming to her.  She wants to be compensated for the time she took to make phone calls etc.   I apologized about the issues and explained that we do not compensate people for the time it may take to deal with issues that may occur with items they have purchased.   I did offer her $75 as goodwill to go out to dinner and put this behind her.  She rejected my offer.

we have agreed to a no-charge service call for tomorrow.

 The GE Tech left my house and BEFORE leaving driveway.... the unit stopped producing cold air. The tech week before said MORE work needed to be done since "something" had blown the fuse. The tech out last ONLY REPLACED fuse and unit did not stay working for longer than FIVE minutes. I called GE right away since tech was literally leaving. GE said the best they can do it make YET ANOTHER appointment for JUNE 9, 2015 , move than a week away again.  AND WANTS ME TO PAY FOR THIS SERVICE,.. I am at wits end over this. I FINALLY called ANOTHER company to fix unit, they looked at it and in less than FIVE minutes replied (to which I have written statement) the unit is DONE.. there is rusted lines leading to coolant and it can not be repaired..  I am now REFUSING to pay GE any monies for ANY time at my home.  This is very underhanded that they would NOT know that unit is DONE and order a fuse when they know another issue is problem.. not to mention charging me again since they did not have the fuse in hand... AND this has been going on for over a month, so NO I AM REFUSING TO accept their response.

Please respond here ONLY]if I bought a new dishwasher why would it need repair before it was installed?  I feel it was a damaged return not new or defective from the factory.  I should receive a new non defective model or some other compensation for this problem.  Perhaps they should extend my warranty if they truly believe the dishwasher is fine instead of suggesting I pay for extension.
