Thank-you for the opportunity to review this consumer’s situation.
GE has left five voice mails with my contact phone number for Ms. [redacted] since receiving her information from the Revdex.com.  We have not spoken as of today 6/18.
Please contact me if there are any other questions or...

if I may be of further assistance.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Apparently this company believes that I should have held on to a dish washer that broke twice for weeks (the first time they didn't want to do anything for me -- now they claim they would have fixed despite it being out of warranty if I only held on to). While I don't believe the would have paid to fix it, I'm not sure I would have wanted that piece of junk in my home to break a third time. First time it flooded the place, next time it might have set fire to it. I think their product is so defective they should refund the money or at least pay for the new (non-GE) dishwasher, which cost $500, plus the service calls on their horribly constructed product ($250). [redacted], of the chairman's office, did not want to do that and said he can do nothing about it because we replaced the broke dishwasher. Who wouldn't have replaced that piece of junk after two weeks? He also, laughably, contended that GE makes good, reliable product, which is a joke. We had a GE range we replaced after a few years. Who ever heard of a range breaking but this is the type of slipshod crap this companies makes. If you had problems with GE products, and I"m sure there are a lot of people out there who have, please call [redacted] at his direct line [redacted] and let him know the real quality of GE appliances. This is not a company to do business with.

I spoke to the consumer today and he said the issue has been resolved

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. After speaking with Mrs. [redacted] we both agreed that switching the dishwasher was the best option, but I did want to make sure the dishwasher was comparable. After completing some research we felt like the one she agreed to switch the dishwasher with was not up to the standard that we selected our current dishwasher with. I then sent her 5 other dishwasher options that met our priorities. I am attaching this e-mail. After Mrs. [redacted] reviewed the dishwashwers, we were informed she would be able to replace current broken model with one of the models, but we would need to pay $100.This is not a reasonable solution to this issues. In addition,  after telling Mrs. [redacted] our current model was full of water she suggested that I get a turkey baster to get the dirty water out before it was replaced.  At this point the only other option that was given was a  refund to be issued and the dishwasher would be picked up. I am very unsatisfied with this option as well, but we have been backed into no other options.  As mentioned the dishwasher has not functioned in 6 weeks and we are not paying to have it replaced. We are still asking that we be provided with the option we have  selected.]

I have reimbursed this consumer for his service call.

We are scheduled to complete repair later this month.   Have been waiting on a part.  Consumer is aware.

“...however, we are not in agreement with further concessions in this matter. “
Of course not. If you were, we wouldn't be reading things like this at [redacted].com...
“General Electric customer service is ranked #552 out of the 800 companies that have a [redacted].com rating with an overall score of 27.26 out of a possible 200 based upon 307 ratings. This score rates General Electric customer service and customer support as Terrible.” *
But the score that really speaks to the issue is in the category of ISSUE RESOLUTION. Here we see that GE scored an impressive score of 1.5 out of 10 possible points.
Indeed, given such abysmal scores, the bigger surprise would be had GE done the ethical thing and assumed some responsibility for their flawed product design.
And so in response to this latest demonstration of customer abuse and dis-service, I see I really have no choice but to explore every option that might result in satisfaction. Contacting the Board of Directors:[redacted] to ascertain their thoughts on the matter. Who knows, [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted] may get promotions for their demonstration of how not to satisfy a customer...or not...
Concurrently with this, communications with the State Attorney General's office would surely be worthwhile as well. I wonder what their reaction would be on the article I included in my original complaint regarding Manufacturing Defect vs. Design Defect.
Given that I am retired and on Disability, I can't think of a more rewarding way to spend my time than taking a stand against mediocrity and I really do believe this issue deserves my full attention.

yes it is a dryer

Thank you for the opportunity to review this consumer’s situation. Please be advised that GE has sent out three different technicians (2 Factory Service & 1 Authorized Servicer) to take a look at Mr. [redacted]’s concerns on his GE cooktop. It has been determined by each technician that the unit is...

operating as it is designed and there is no functional repair to be made. With these diagnoses GE does not agree to replace nor refund Mr. [redacted] for the cooktop. Please contact me if there are any other questions or if I may be of further assistance.Sincerely,[redacted]

We are requesting a new unit, not a refurbishing of the defective unit that was shipped to us. When we purchase a new product it should not need to be repaired upon arrival.
