Costco Reviews (1219)

I’ve talked to the member letting him know that I’m forwarding his issue to the Citi team asking that they follow up to see why plastic was never received and assist in getting a card to him as soon as possible. The member has asked that I follow up with him until plastic has been received.

We take these matters seriously to ensure that our members are satisfied. We had a technician go out to the members home today to find out what could be wrong with the furnace. The problem had to do with a loose thermostat wire in the wall. This has been fixed and the furnace is now working.

From the attached picture provided by Vizio, unit clearly has suffered physical damage, which is not covered by the Vizio two year warranty provide on Costco purchased televisions. Costco does extend warranty up to two years from date of purchase. However, as this television came with two year...

warranty from Vizio, there would be no Costco warranty coverage. Even if there were Costco warranty, like all television warranties, does not cover physical damage. As to Member’s claim that damage occurred in shipping, if that was the case, it would have been Member’s responsibility to report damage immediately upon receiving and inspecting the televisions. Most shipping companies have a limit of 3 to 5 days in which recipient can file a shipping claim for damage. Vizio offered the member a replacement television at a significantly discounted price which he declined.
From Vizio warranty online at: https://www.vizio.com/warrantyWhat This Warranty Does Not CoverThis warranty does not cover: (a) cosmetic damage; (b) normal wear and tear; (c) improper operation; (d) improper voltage supply or power surges; (e) signal issues; (f) damage from shipping; (g) acts of God; (h) customer misuse, modifications or adjustments; (i) installation, set-up, or repairs attempted by anyone other than by a VIZIO authorized service center; (j) products with unreadable or removed serial numbers; (k) products requiring routine maintenance; or (l) products sold “AS IS”, “CLEARANCE”, “FACTORY RECERTIFIED”, or by a non-authorized reseller,
At this time since the unit has a clear point of impact and is considered physical damage, Costco would not be able to replace or refund the TV. It is at the members discretion should he chose to purchase a replacement.

I've contacted the member to let them know that the Hayward location will be sending a check for $60.

Thank you for your recent inquiry on behalf of Ms. [redacted]. We appreciate the Revdex.com's efforts to resolve consumer complaints and to promote communications between businesses and consumers. The member purchased item #[redacted] Dell Inspiron 13 7000 Series Notebook Computer for...

$699.99 on 1/29/15 at Warehouse #645 Raleigh, North Carolina. At such time the computer came with a 90 day return policy (shown on printed receipt) and a one year Dell manufacturer warranty. Costco extends the manufacturer warranty to two years for coverage until 1/29/2016.
We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration Ms.[redacted] had gone through with this unit and the battery life. We have ordered a replacement battery for Ms.[redacted] at no charge and it is in transit with UPS for a delivery date of 12/22/2016 to Ms.[redacted]. We will follow up with Ms. [redacted] after delivery to ensure this resolves her issue."
I hope this response has satisfactorily addressed the Revdex.com's concerns. Thank you again for your inquiry and for providing the opportunity to respond. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Complaint: [redacted]Though these conversations did take place with the people who are noted, the notes from your side of the conversation look decidedly different than those I took.
I was told that all that could be offered was a 25% credit and 75% voucher. I stated from the beginning that I did not feel the was fair - but that if there was no other option available to me I didn't have an option but to move forward. Of course a 25% refund is better than no refund. It is really a shame that a company like this, who makes their money multiple times on membership fees, sales of products, and sales of services, is unwilling to do the right thing in this situation. This will be the last time I use a third party service to negotiate a trip for me, and will likely be one of the last experiences my family has with you guys. You have taken what should be one of the most anticipated and celebrated times of our life and managed to make it a drag. When we are planning for our first child, the last thing I should have to be worrying about and taking care of is a refund for a cruise that our doctors will not allow us to go on. Then, to have her pregnancy even questioned because a letter from her OBGYN failed to say in bold print that she was pregnant is offensive. What a miserable customer service experience this has been. I've always been told that you guys are great to book through because you have your customers back, and blah blah blah. This has been the exact opposite of the experience I had hoped to receive.
If you guys refuse to do the right thing in this situation, I can't force you to. That is your business. I hope moving forward you can be a little more sensitive and a little more reasonable with guests. Don't you think we wanted to go on that cruise? Don't you think having to cancel a cruise we've been looking forward to for weeks was already hard enough and frustrating enough on us? A 25% refund is a slap in the face. Given the circumstances, SURELY you understand that a 75% cruise voucher to be used in the next 2 years is basically just charging us 75% for a cruise we aren't able to go on. The next 9 months are out due to pregnancy. It seems unlikely we'll be traveling out of the country during the first year of our child's life. It just feels like a money grab from you guys, and it's very frustrating.
I would love to have a conversation with someone, if you're willing to talk and reason
Sincerely,[redacted]

We have contacted Ms. [redacted] and although we are not liable for this incident we resolved it to her satisfaction as a member courtesy.

The issue with member [redacted] as been resolved. There was a price adjustment done for him today on item number #[redacted] for $80.02, put on a Costco cash card and mailed to his home. The member was happy with the end result and in the future will come to a manager on duty with any questions or...

concerns regarding how Costco operates.

We are sorry to hear of the unfortunate incident involving Ms. [redacted] vehicle. We investigated this matter and the evidence provided was consistent with a wheel that had been loose for a very short period of time/miles.  The vehicle had traveled over 5,000 miles during the 4 months since our...

service. We do not believe this loss was related to our service.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: 1. I never received the $88 refund they stated I received. 2) I didn't realize the tire was going flat until I felt something strange when I was driving down the road. It is unreasonable to assume I would drive all the way back to Costco on a flat tire. That could damage the rim. I went to the closest possible place.

To resolve this matter, I would need the $88 refund they say I received (because I never received it), and I would need the refund for the tire.
Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
that's not what I was informed at the time of purchase.

You have been misinformed as to when the amount in question was reversed and put back into our account, it was just as I explained prior. Regardless, I have made my complaint in full. This further explanation on your part does not change that. I will take my business else where, when using my debit or credit card, in doing so I am confident there will be no tampering with my funds. Thank You.

We left a voicemail and explained to [redacted] the steps we've taken to resolve his concerns. We have submitted a Mailing Opt Out form with the name provided ([redacted]), and we have also reached out to our marketing team to make sure the mail with the name provided by [redacted] in his...

complaint is taken out of circulation as soon as possible.

Mr. [redacted]'s complaint was dealt with in the manner that was explained to him during our first conversation. I visited the building and reviewed his concerns with management and discussed how to prevent this from happening again.

I am rejecting this response because: I reject this response because it is a fraud. I received a shipping label from Costco on 27 july for returning the computer and printer. I returned them the same day to u.p.s. office in Hudson Oaks Texas. The next morning 28 July I received an email from Laura Lister stating that she had received notice of the return and that A REFUND WOULD BE ISSUED IN A COUPLE OF DAYS..Never had received any refund I emailed her again...each time she would say the refund had been issued and the bank should apply it to my credit card.(never happened).  I contacted her again, and this time she said the manufactor Hewlett Packard would issue the refund..Never happened) This kind of Clinto damage control went on and I stil as of this date...5 August 2017 have not received any return of funds...then I was advised that a check would be mailed for a portion of the regund and A credit card of 300.00 was issued to my credit card....has not happened as of this date. What was promised as a reund in a couple of days still has not occurred and I do not know or believe that a check is in the mail. These types of businesses cab zap funds from your bank in a matter of minutes when you purchase and do before ever filling an order...how is it that when they deceive return of goods, they cant refund in weeks...We the little guys of the world look to people like Revdex.com to go to bat for us as the business world uses your clout to augment sales. This then is a blantant case of screw the little guy get the money and keep it as long as possible...SHAME ON THEM. Sincerely [redacted]Weatherford, Texas 76087[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
This response does not reflect the leadership values of Costco HQ, because this is not the situation that happened at the Colorado Springs store.  This sounds like someone is trying to stay out of trouble with Costco HQ.  I have been in the credit card industry working on behalf of the payment brands and Costco fully knows it is not supposed to be requiring an ID as a condition of using a credit card.  This is why hotlines exist to report merchants that are out of compliance with their merchant card agreement.  Here is a summary link that provides some basic merchant information:
https://www.privacyrights.org/blog/can-stores-require-id-when-i-pay-credit-card<... />
Here is the link to report merchants that are requiring an ID as a condition of using a credit card for which a Colorado Springs Costco was requiring "post transaction" to the payment brands:
https://consumerist.com/2007/12/12/how-to-report-merchants-for-requiring-a-minim... /> I work with many merchants and franchise companies and many business owners believe they are going to reduce chargebacks and reduce fraud when they are playing police officer and bank approver by requiring people to show an ID.  When a credit card transaction is approved, it typically goes through 10 to 25+ workflow decision making processes to prevent fraud before a transaction is approved.  A merchant does not have this capability and if this really worked, the National Retail Federation would be supporting this method of credit card approval by requiring a picture ID and be rolled out nationally by all retailers.
Lastly, their is some dark history about showing ID's for using a credit card. ID's in the Southern part of the US were required for non-white people and no ID's were required for white people because of economic assumptions with no facts.  This became a form of discrimination and when I see merchants having good intentions of trying to prevent fraud, I can only think of racism and profiling non-white credit card users.  Please stop the practice, make sure the proper training is put in place.  Once this is done, be happy to close this Revdex.com complaint.  I'm a big fan of Costco and I know this can be resolved very simply.Sincerely,[redacted]

Costco stands by it's original statement.

Hello [redacted],I am following up on the status of your Revdex.com complaint. Per our conversation on Friday 6/2/2017, AT&T has confirmed you are already receiving a monthly bill credit on (1) of your iPhone 7’s, they have also advised they are applying monthly bill credits for the (3) additional...

iPhone 7’s purchased on 2/10/2017.The credits will be applied to your account and backdated within 2-3 billing cycles, Wireless Advocates has requested that this process be expedited however AT&T has advised they have a bill credit process required to get the monthly bill credits applied to your account successfully. Due to the inconvenience this has caused you a $50.00 Costco cash card was sent to you on Friday 6/9/2017. On behalf of Wireless Advocates I would like to apologize for the frustration resulting from your purchase with us. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Best Regards,Charon K[redacted]
