The technician quickly identified why the unit wasn't working (ground or fault in control circuit) but acknowledged that troubleshooting to find the fault could cost a significant amount of labor charge based on age of unit The technician recognized certain conditions that could be causing the short and proceeded to investigate two areas He quickly found control wiring up under wall siding that had worn insulation and exposed wires making contact with the metal refrigerant lines and quickly fixed the issue with no extra charge This was an incredible good catch by a seasoned technician using good old fashion ":common sense" diagnosisxxxxx knocked it out of the part for our old year old unit late Saturday afternoon and got our air conditioning up and running xxxxx could have walked away without going the extra mile We are indebted to his persistence in trusting his instincts and working to serve the customer after having to go up into a hot cramped attic with temperatures degress
