Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:   The company is sticking with their allegation that the scores are correct, but they obviously are not, because my FICO score reported elsewhere is much higher.  Attached are the scores. Sincerely,[redacted]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/04/17) */
[redacted],
Credit bureaus use many different scoring models, even within the same credit bureau. Each bureau can use dozens of different credit score models based on the requirements of different lenders. It's important to also know that...

there is no 'one true credit score'.
Each credit score model has a slightly different formula that takes into account over 200 different factors of your credit report; like a thumbprint, no credit score model is exactly the same. In addition, credit scores can change anytime so you have to make sure you are comparing credit scores from the same day.
As an example, a mortgage company will get a different score than a company providing auto loans, since they are looking for different types of credit history and credit factors.
Hope this helps! If you have more questions, please feel free to let me know.
Regards,

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/04/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
IT STILL DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENCE ON HOW MY SCORE DROPED BY 90 POINTS IN ONE MONTH JUST BY THIS COMPANY CREDIT KARMA. AND I DONT HAVE ANY NEW ACCOUNTS OR HAVE I PAID ANYTHING LATE. SO IT STILL DOES NOT ADD UP TO DROP BY 90 POINTS IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS. I WANT IT FIXED NOW.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/04/29) */
[redacted],
I do understand that credit scores can be confusing. Our site exists so you can review the information that your lenders are reporting to the credit bureaus TransUnion and Equifax, and how the information reported affects your score.
There are many different scoring models and banks may use a different model based on the type of credit for which you are applying.
The scores provided to you are not in error, but are representative of the information on your credit reports, and calculated using the VantageScore 3.0 model provided by TransUnion and Equifax separately. This is not a FICO score. I suggest that you review the various factors that can impact your score to see what might be impacting the change in score: https://www.creditkarma.com/myfinances/scores/
Please let me know if you have more questions. I'm happy to answer them.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I MAIN CONCERN AND WHAT YOU FAIL TO ANSWER IS HOW CAN MY SCORE DROP BY 90 POINTS IN JUST 30 DAYS WHEN NOTHING WAS PAID LATE OR NOTHING NEW WAS ADDED ON MY CREDIT. ANSWER THAT QUESTION. YOU HAVE YOUR RECORD YOU CAN SEE WHERE IT WAS 609 THEN DROPPED TO 520. WHICH IS CRAZY. ANSWER THAT QUESTION. AND YOU CAN SEE NOTHING WAS PAID LATE OR ADDED ON MY CREDIT SO HOW CAN IT JUST DROP FOR NOTHING. YOU GUYS ARE A FRAUD AND MESSING UP PEOPLE CREDIT.IM GONNA FILE A LAWSUIT IF YOU DONT RESEARCH AND FIX BECAUSE IF YOU DID RESEARCH IT YOU WOULD SEE WHAT IAM TALKING ABOUT.

Hello [redacted],
I think you might be referring to a different site.
Credit Karma believes that everyone should have a right to view his or her financial information completely free of charge. In fact, no credit card information is...

required to sign up with Credit Karma because our service is completely free!
Sometimes companies use the name "Credit Karma" without permission to get people to pay for their services. If this happened, and you remember the name of the company, let us know so that we can investigate further.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I can see that you're having trouble with registration. It looks like the information you're using to register doesn't match the information TransUnion has on file. Please try past names or nicknames you have used (e.g. a maiden...

name or [redacted] for "[redacted]"), if applicable, and your former address, if you've moved recently.

You can modify your personal information here: https://www.creditkarma.com/myprofile/personal

If this doesn't solve the problem, I would also recommend checking your full credit report at www.annualcreditreport.com(https://www.annualcreditreport.com) to see what information TransUnion has on record for you, then updating your information and trying to complete registration again.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi [redacted] -
I would be happy to answer any questions you have about Credit Karma and our processes. Credit Karma is a completely free service that allows our members access to their TransUnion and Equifax credit reports and scores. We...

will never ask for your credit card information on our site because we simply don't need it. Our site is made free by partnering with other lenders that share the same beliefs - you will see recommendations for loans and credit cards on our site, but are in no way required to apply for any additional credit.
I'm happy to answer other questions you have to alleviate your concerns. Thanks for your patience.

Hi [redacted] -
It looks like we sent you an update to notify you about new inquiries on your account. We don't generate those inquiries, rather simply notify you that one of the bureaus is reporting new information. In this case, it looks like...

your Equifax credit report may be the one you are indicating in your message to us.
If you'd like to review the companies that have reported the inquiries, you can review your full credit report on Credit Karma (https://www.creditkarma.com/myfinances/creditreport/equifax?reportId=XXXXXXXXX#... Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Not Convinced although I did receive a response from someone indication the information will be deleted.
I don't like the idea that STAFFERS are allowed to have access.
Eliminate All information as you know you have someone out there in la-la land that has presented themselves as you folks. How do I know you are legitimate?

I have reviewed your last inquiry and responded again.
The frequency of the updates can vary by the credit bureau and the lender. In most cases, you can expect your creditors to report new balances, payment activity, credit...

limit changes, or late payment information every 30 days.
Please let me know if you have more questions.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Perfect example, I received an email alert today (7/26/2015) through my registered email address at 10am stating I have a new account and new hard inquiry on my report. After logging in to review both credit profiles, nothing new reflects which leads to misinformation regarding my credit profile.
I have logged on several times in hopes that the system had refreshed from the original email alert and the results were the same. I carefully compared both Equifax and Trans Union reports, and was unable to find the difference of what the new inquiry and or account was.
It's just very frustrating for someone who is looking to increase their credit score for the sense of better purchasing options and purchase power.
It would be very helpful if the system was up-to-date and current with any alerts an updates that would drastically affect the consumers reports without sending them on a wild goose chase to figure out what has changed when indeed nothing happened. Not to mention having no live customer service representative available for direct assistance does not make well for an agency to update an output or review for someone's credit history!

It's just a waste of time going back and forth with a 3rd company. Just amazes me how they list their affiliation with major credit bureaus such as "TransUnion and Equifax", but when you call these companies directly they provide a different outlook on the "affiliating" services Credit Karma provides.
I just know going forward that the services are general and not accurate when it comes to scoring and reporting actions..

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:  What they are saying is a cop-out, and their supposed "good predictors" are nowhere close to the 625 FICO score I am showing with one of my credit card companies.Sincerely,[redacted]

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This is in response to Revdex.com CASE#: XXXXXXXX. My identity was stolen by people in Georgia in 2012. I have since had all this old information removed from all 3 credit bureaus. I had to contact you twice by sending in my birth certificate, divorce decree showing my name change, official driver's license, and many other documents. At that point you allowed me to take control of the Credit Karma account created by a fraudster in Georgia. Now, 3 years later I am still unable to remove fraudulent names and adresses and other information from your Credit Karma website. I have phoned all 3 credit bureaus and they have my correct name and a real address for me. I have been unable to correct this information on the Credit Karma website. I have emailed you and gotten no help whatsoever. I have now escalated this issue to Revdex.com. I am waiting for your response on fixing this issue for me.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2015/11/10) */
As previously stated, we simply take the information that is on the reports that come directly from the bureaus TransUnion and Equifax and put it into an easily readable format. We cannot make changes, we can't update the information on your reports. We are not a credit bureau.
I am sorry for the frustration, but you will need to contact the bureaus directly in order to have the additional names removed from your reports.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Since this Credit Karma account was fraudulently opened by someone who stole my identity and you are unwilling to correct erroneous information you must immediately shut down this account permanently. If you do not, I have contacted a lawyer and will be suing you according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act which protects me from this type of abuse perpetuated against victims of identity theft. I have all three copies of my credit report from the credit bureaus and none of them have the information you are reporting. You must close this Credit karma account permanently and prevent anyone else from creating an account using my social security number in the future.

It's possible that someone may have accidentally used your email address to register for Credit Karma. I have removed your email address from our database so that this should no longer be a problem.
If you'd like me to...

investigate further to ensure that the account in question is not associated with your personal information, please reply with your full name and date of birth.
I apologize for any confusion and thank you for your patience.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Your system should require validation of the email address supplied by a new registrant, a common practice, before enrolling the owner of the address into a system which requires your collection of personal and private information, my birth date, to cease such enrollment.
You may need to review CASL - Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation - to avoid accidental violations.
If your system facilitates any third party to access my private and personal information without my consent, that shall be a challenge for your company to address on a much larger scale. I am satisfied with not receiving your emails regarding a service which I do not wish to participate in.
Thank you,

The credit scores you receive on Credit Karma come straight from TransUnion and Equifax, two of the three major national credit bureaus. It's not uncommon for scores to vary. Each consumer has dozens of different credit scores,...

though most people believe that each person just has one.
Credit scores can vary for lots of reasons. First, each of the three credit bureaus can have slightly different credit report information for you. Secondly, the credit score model has a slightly different formula that takes into account over 200 different factors of your credit report; like a thumbprint, no credit score model is exactly the same. Third, credit scores can change anytime so you have to make sure you are comparing credit scores from the same day.
Comparing several credit scores will always be different, since all the models are inherently different. Tracking one credit score over time, shows you the ups and downs in your score that could signal a significant change in your credit health.
Each scoring model has a slightly different formula for analyzing the many different factors of your credit report and each person has many different credit scores.
On your Credit Karma account, you will see the VantageScore 3.0 scoring model, provided individually by TransUnion and Equifax.
VantageScore 3.0 incorporates a broader set of credit-related data and can score up to 30 million more people than other models. With so many different scoring models out there, you never know which score a bank will use, but VantageScore 3.0 is a strong predictor for what the banks may see.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
