Hi [redacted], -
I think you might be referring to a different site.
Credit Karma believes that everyone should have a right to view his or her financial information completely free of charge. In fact, no credit card information is required...

to sign up with Credit Karma because our service is completely free!
Sometimes companies use the name "Credit Karma" without permission to get people to pay for their services. If this happened, and you remember the name of the company, let us know so that we can investigate further.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi [redacted]It looks like the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) you entered didn’t match what the IRS has on file for you from last year’s return.AGI is an individual's total gross income minus some specific deductions. Many tax items are often based off an individual's AGI such as medical expenses,...

miscellaneous itemized deductions, and even income tax in some states. You can find your AGI on last year's tax return:Form 1040: line 37Form 1040A: line 21Form 1040EZ: line 4If you didn't file a return last year, you can still use the AGI option to electronically sign your return. Just enter "0" as your AGI.If you don’t have access to last year’s return, you can get your IRS transcript [redacted]) to view your AGI.You can adjust your previous year's AGI here: [redacted] Regards,  [redacted]Member Support Manager

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: The business wishes me to provide personal information in order to cancel an account I never signed up for. It is precisely because I do not wish to share personal information with this business that I want the account cancelled. In light of the Equfax breach and many like it it is absurd to think my information would be safe and/or not monetised by this company. Quite simply: They know who I am, they know the account in question, and they know I want it cancelled. To require more personal information from me to do this is unethical at best, and possibly illegal.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

[redacted],
The account in question never passed [redacted] verification steps, therefore the account with your ex-wife's email address was never fully activated and your credit information was not accessed on Credit Karma.
As stated in our...

previous correspondence, on August 19th - the information that is listed on your credit report does not match the information listed on the documentation that you sent. For security reasons, we cannot activate your account until these items are matching.
The only way to resolve this issue is to contact and update the information with each credit bureau individually. We have provided you with that contact information previously.
Please let me know if you have additional questions and I would be happy to answer them.

I'm unable to find an account matching the information you've provided here or in the support ticket you sent to us in January. There is not a Credit Karma account that matches your name and date of birth.

If you have used other names in the past, you're welcome...

to follow up and send us another support ticket ([redacted] and provide that information so we can further research your circumstances.

Credit bureaus use many different scoring models, even within the same credit bureau. Each bureau can use dozens of different credit score models based on the requirements of different lenders.
Each credit score model has a...

slightly different formula that takes into account over 200 different factors of your credit report; like a thumbprint, no credit score model is exactly the same. In addition, credit scores can change anytime so you have to make sure you are comparing credit scores from the same day.
On your Credit Karma account, you will see the VantageScore 3.0 scoring model, provided individually by TransUnion and Equifax.
VantageScore 3.0 incorporates a broader set of credit-related data and can score up to 30 million more people than other models. With so many different scoring models out there, you never know which score a bank will use, but VantageScore 3.0 is a strong predictor for what the banks may see.
**ease let me know if you have any further questions.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/01/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The problem is that the very banks that Credit Karma is referring people to DO NOT use this VantageScore 3.0! I linked to a credit offer from the Credit Karma site to one of their sponsor banks. I was denied credit based on a credit score 70 points lower than this "VantageScore". So the very response from them to you shows their deception. This is what a bank "may" see. No, it is not even close. Credit Karma should provide the name of ANY bank that uses this VantageScore to assess credit risk. If they cannot, then it is clear that there is NOT even ONE bank that "may" see such a score. Because of them convincing me to link to a bank to apply for credit caused a hard credit inquiry on my account which in turn lowered my REAL credit score even lower. Credit Karma was paid an advertising fee to refer me to a bank that it clearly knew did not use VantageScore. Again, since Credit Karma is claiming banks may see this score, they should post CLEARLY on their site which banks use VantageScore EVER! This is clearly deception and they know it.

Unfortunately, we can't know for sure if lenders will approve or decline applications, as it's totally up to the lender. However, we do the best we can by basing our approval odds on historical data. Many factors besides a credit score go into a lender's decision on whether or not they grant you credit.
Credit Karma estimates your Approval Odds by comparing your credit profile with data about other members who were approved for this product. Though Approval Odds do not guarantee approval, they can show you which products may be a better fit for you.
We'll be the first to admit that we don't always get it right, but please know that we're always working to build better models and give people the best information that we can. Our goal is to always do what's best for our members.

For your records:  I cancelled account and checked on credit bureau files and did not see
any hard inquires.

There may be a misunderstanding here. When there is a possible fraud situation, an agent will immediately deactivate the account. If a member chooses to have that account tied to their personal email, we will ask for verification documents so we can update the account and change the email address....

If you would like a followup, I would be happy to personally look into this for you. Please email us again here: [redacted] and include "Revdex.com Complaint" in the subject line so I can locate your email. Thanks,[redacted]- Member Support
