D R HORTON INC Reviews (239)

We have had nothing but headaches with DR Horton. WE have been waiting for months to get warranty work done with no responce from the warranty department. THe entire Cheswyck subdivision is ready to take leagal action due to the lack of responce of our issues. We have a huge drainage issue that includes standing water against our foundation. I have called and emailed several times to get it fixed. Twice it has been scheduled and both times no one has shown up. We have several houses in the neighborhood that have dead grass. When we asked them when it was going to get fixed, we keep getting excuse after excuse. I would not recommend anyone buying a DR Horton home.

Review: My wife and I had a home built in Nature Trail Subdivision in Pensacola Florida In 2009 and according to the Nature Trail HOA guidelines we were to buy our neighbors mailbox numbers for our future neighbors whenever they built , then we were to be reimbursed by the builder who built the neighbors home which is DR Horton. It has been since October of 2013 since I started asking to be reimbursed and all we've gotten is we're working on it. I explained to the DR Horton Sales Rep of Nature Trail Subdivision if this was not legit why would we have our neighbors address numbers to their mailbox at our house ? I called the President of Nature Trail Subdivision which is Steve Colony and explained the situation his response was for me to call DRHortons office in Nature Trail . I waited 2 months no response so I called to let them know I was reporting them to the Revdex.com . A few days past and gentleman called back to say he had asked Dave Taylor here in Nature Trail to look the guidelines up for back then . It has been going on two weeks since I spoke to [redacted] of Nature Trail. I haven't heard a word from anyone. I know it's only 250.00 but my reasoning is this , If it was so important that it be put in the Nature Trail guidelines then it needs to be adhered to instead of sticking the homeowners with the Bill . Both Nature Trail and DR Horton are at wrong !Desired Settlement: Payment in full would be nice

[redacted] with Archer Exteriors is here. In addition to the leak at the flashing there is a problem with the roof cap. It is damaged and already rusting through. Additionally there was never an silicone caulking pit on the screws. The vinyl covering does not come up high enough and is not covered by the cap. It appears that that lip of the cap is only a two inch overhang and it needs to be at least three inches to cover the wood and the vinyl at the top. I have attached pictures for you to see the problem. I would like to get this cap replaced. You can talk to [redacted] who can give you more details.

Issue(s):

1)There is a leak where the chimney comes out of the roof. Water drips down on the top of the fire box. It needs to be resealed ASAP. 2) When the front door side light was replaced on the punch list the trim was never painted. It is white and the door color is blue. It stands out like a sore thumb.Desired Settlement: On 4/16/2014 I submitted a request for warranty service on a leaking chimney. I wasn't until 5/5/2014 that Archer Exteriors came out and identified the leak supposedly coming from the flashing where the chimney attaches to the roof. They lifted up two sheets of vinyl at the base of the chimney and resealed the flashing. At the same time Steve with Archer identified a defective chimney cap which was improperly installed and sealed. I sent photos of this to your warranty tech [redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I spoke with [redacted] from D.R.Horton who advised that the Chimney Cap installer would be here on June 9th. He came but did not bring the chimney cap which was supposed to be already built. He took measurements and phoned it in to the company who builds the cap. I am still waiting to hear when the cap will be built and installed. The roofer is supposed to come back to check for leaks along with the vinyl siding installer who is supposed to replace all the vinyl siding on the chimney. I have not heard a date when any of them will return to the property. The leak has not been fixed.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

Response:

The subcontractors that are doing the repairs have informed the Warranty Manager that the chimney cap, the vinyl, and the flashing on the chimney will be replaced on Friday.

This should complete the complaint issues.

Review: I'm filing a complaint against D.R. Horton American Home Builders. I submitted a warranty request with them back in November of 2012. They did respond to the warranty request by having the property manger of my subdivision contact me. A gentleman by the name of [redacted] explained to me that some one would be out to fix the siding of my home. But due to the holidays it could take a few weeks. After a few weeks someone finally did come out and fix the problem. But the issues recurred. [redacted] did find out what was causing the problem and found a resolution to the problem. After several months back and forth he finally did came out and fixed "another" problem. Left a message with me Thursday May 23 2013 at 2:09 pm. ( which I have saved this voice mail ) That someone would be out to repair my siding of my home again. No one ever showed up and I called [redacted] on several occasion and never got a response.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement

I would like the homebuilder to replace the siding on my home. I would like them to complete the service that was promised.

Review: There were so many things wrong with the home that I purchased from D R Horton.

They kept telling me that they used Sherwin Williams paint making it sound like good paint was used. Instead, it is paint that washes off with water.

They left the bird guard in the dryer vent opening which ended up causing my dryer to overheat and burn out. I have tried to contact them to try to get them to help pay for my new dryer, but they will not return my call.

The stone columns on the front porch keep eroding. They fixed one of them. The other one needs to be filled in. I was told that it was, but stones are sticking out and they column looks awful with all the huge sunken places. The stone should be straight with the mortar line, not part of it sunken in and part sticking out.Desired Settlement: make the needed repairs

Paint the house with quality paint that you implied that you had

reimburse me for the dryer that got burnt out because you left the bird netting in the vent causing lint to get trapped

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted]

Please accept this correspondence as D R Horton, Inc.’s (“Horton”) reply to the Revdex.com(Revdex.com) with regard to the above reference complaint.

Ms. [redacted] was received by the Customer Service Manager of the DFW-West Division of Horton. Upon inspection the Manager explained to Ms. [redacted] that the paint is the same paint used division wide and that nothing could be changed by Horton unless otherwise contracted at point of sale. A flat base paint is standard. In reference to the screening in the dryer vent, this application is normal and is to prevent birds and rodents from entering.

The stonework was repaired and resolved.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to [redacted], complaint.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Regards,[redacted] I bought the house already built. I was told that Sherwin Williams paint was on the walls implying that good paint was used, not paint that would wash off with water.

The bird netting in the dryer vent should have been removed when I bought the house. The D R Horton repairman that took it out told me that. Lint had built up on the netting and caused my dryer to overheat and burn out. This was a mistake by D R Horton. The fire department said that I was lucky that the house did not catch on fire.

The stone on the front column is NOT repaired. The stone indents below the mortar. Other stones stick way out. If someone falls, they could hit their head on the stone that protrudes.

My home is still under warranty. They need to fix theses things.

They doors in the entry way are buckling. The siding has a gap in the back yard over the patio. This house was poor built with poor quality materials and poor quality workmanship.

Review: Bought my D R Horton Home at the end of May 2014. D R Horton provides a 33 day punch list and an 11 month punch list. I filled out a 33 day punch list back in July of 2014. There were over 30 items on this list. The majority of the items were poor quality in fixing seams in sheet rock, spackle lines from too much sanding or lack of sanding. Needless to say D R Horton made what look bad, worse. They also never finished filling in nail holes and painting the bottom of the door frame they replaced. The bigger issue since the time of settlement are footprints in the cement in my driveway and sidwalk. D R Horton said they would try a few things. They only did one and it looks like crap. Since then D R Horton sent the Regional guy [redacted] who wrote down the my complaints. this was back in Sept 2014. Nothing has been done since. With frequent call to the regional office in Mt Pleasant they never answer my calls. They just send emails. Lori Roberts said they sent my list to the Constructions group back in Dec. 2014. About a month ago they sent some guys out to assess the footprints in my driveway. Still no word. The contractor making the assessment told my wife that footprints take up 70% of the driveway and that they would have to replace it. My complaint is that D R Horton is not living up to what they promise in their warranty. I do have a copy of my 33 day warranty punch list.Desired Settlement: My expectation is that D R Horton would live up to the agreement of fixing items from my final walk through, which are the footprints in my concrete and the undone items on my 33 day warranty list. If they can't do that I would like to hire my own contractors to make these fixes and have D R Horton pay the bills since I have been waiting since September 2014.

Business

Response:

In response to this complaint, D.R. Horton acknowledges Mr.

[redacted] issue being brought to our attention of footprints in the

driveway. This was addressed at their

original closing walk and as you can see from the attached orientation

document, accepted by the homeowner on the day of closing. This stance has changed since then. We have attempted a few different things to

fix the situation, however, none seem to be an acceptable solution to the

buyer. D.R. Horton will replace the sections of the driveway

affected by the footprints for the satisfaction of our buyers. The entire driveway will not be replaced,

however, as we will only address the sections of concrete currently showing the

visible footprints. As for the paint and drywall concerns addressed in this

complaint as incomplete from the buyer’s 30-day list, D.R. Horton does not

address cosmetic items after closing as warrantable issues. This is clearly stated in our orientation

documents provided to and signed by the homeowner (Mr. [redacted] orientation

document signed by the buyer is attached).

Any outstanding 30-day issues remaining from their list are

non-warrantable cosmetic items which were signed off as completed at the time

of closing by the buyers.

Please enter your reason(s) for rejecting the business response below.

Review: I closed on a house in Amhurst Community on March 1, 2010.

Leak 1: 6/3/2013 cost me $812.50. (outside )

Leak 2: 7/16/2013 cost me $425.00 and $422.01 to dry the wall .

Leak 3 9/13/2013 cost me $1,587.50 and $1466.98 to dry the wall and the carpet. It will cost me another $1,784.00 to put my house back to the way it was.

I am aware the warranty only works if I had used Urban Plumbing. I feel they are the ones that did do the job right the first time. If someone did not do the job correct the first time, would you want them to come and work again. When I called their company to work on my air conditioner, the problem was never fixed and no one from D.R. Horton ever checked to see if it was resolved. They did not car.Desired Settlement: All I ask is that they pay for my repairs. I moved into this house to start a new house with No problems. I am 58 and retired. My 84 year mother lives with me. I am only asking to be reimbursed my money. Thank you for listening.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

D. R. Horton did send Mr. [redacted] to see the damages. He took pictures, he made copies of all my receipts. They know they happened. I had to have it fixed and I am sorry I did not use their plumbers that made the mistake in the first place. I am aware of their warrently rules, but is it fair for a three year old house to have all these plumbing problems if something was done correctly in the first place. It is a shame that they do not do the correct thing. All I am asking is for this company that sold me this house to pay for the repairs so I can fix my house.

Review: Now that is time to file for my homesteading tax exemption I found out that my house wasn't builded on 2014 like the salesman told me but was builded on 2012, based on the public records at http://www.wcad.org/

I bought the house as being a 2014 construction, like the salesman told me was. when I signed the papers I never looked for this info for being a new house.Desired Settlement: adjust the house price, refund or some other resolution that the builder suggest. Even know nobody ever live in the house, the house is a 2 years old house.

Review: The home builder provides a warrenty on their new homes. Two areas of concern are a leak at a solder joint inside the wall and stucco work on the outside of the home. We just purchased the home less then a year prior and did not have prior knowledge about the warrenty. The leak occured after being in the home for 10 months and was detected because of black mold growing on the wall, baseboard and carpet. My wife was coughing prior to detecting the leak every night once she laid in bed (the leak was in the master closet). To protect my wife and myself, I sprayed the area with bleach and removed the effected areas and bagged them up. We asked a neighbor about referring a plumber and they said it should still be covered under warrenty. So I contacted the company. They had someone come to out home to look at different concerns. They said the stucco was definitely covered under warrenty and they blamed the leak on someone hitting the water spout in a bathtub/shower and said it was not covered due to that reason. I disagreed and mentioned they was a class action suit againt them due to poor quality of work. At that time they came back and gave a different reason for refusal and that was because I had the mold removed and had opened a small portion of the wall. I guess protecting my family from a serious health concern and to determine the problem area due to not having prior knowledge about the warrenty and finding the mold on a Friday evening. I was also told that the plumbing contractor who originally did the work was no longer in business which would mean the company would have to pay out of their own pocket for any work performed. Secondly, after they refused to correct the faulty plumbing and secondary damage I mentioned the fact they were already being sued for this same type of thing and I would have to consider joining the suit. At that time they then stated they would no longer do the stucco work they already said was definitely covered.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to fix the faulty plumbing and correct the secondary damage caused by it. I would also like the the stucco work to be completed as promised.

Update Response on Revdex.com claim ID [redacted] On 11/13/14, the Fort Worth Revdex.com claim in regard to the plumbing leak and water damages was forwarded to [redacted] immediately attempted to make contact with the homeowners to further evaluate their claims. 11/14/14, [redacted] was able to confirm an inspection meeting with the homeowners for 11/19/14. Per [redacted]’s meeting with the homeowners, he agreed with the original assessment that this is truly not a valid builder’s warranty issue. However, due to the homeowners Revdex.com claim and litigious demeanor, [redacted] agreed to error on the side of the homeowner and service the wrong pipe materials used by others on the plumbing lines (outside plumbers installed steel pipe fitting on the copper supply line and nipple) and perform further inspections and restorations of the demoed/damaged areas. We immediately set containment of the affected areas. The end of last week we continued our inspections to open up additional drywall areas extending into the master bedroom. Today we are continuing clean and prep the areas to perform an air sample clearance test for the homeowner’s peace of mind, which, is scheduled for tomorrow (11/25/14) at 2:00pm. We will order next day results, and pending the all clear we should be able to begin the restorations this Wednesday. Review: My husband and I were so excited about buying our first home. We searched for several months for the perfect house, and finally decided to have one built. We found a neighborhood/area that we wanted and prepared to begin the whole process. Luckily, we found a spec home that was still in the process of being built, so we got to move-in a lot sooner than if we had started from ground up. The house was everything we wanted!

Now, I understand getting a new home built & dealing with all of the parties involved can be very frustrating. We have never owned a home before. We had questions. A lot of questions. And you know what? That is 100% ok. We had every right got ask as many questions that would could ever ream of, and DR Horton employees should be more than happy/willing to put us at ease and answer any questions or concerns we had. Instated, we dealt with annoyed, uncaring, and unwilling representatives. This is how they make a living, correct?

I have never written a complaint in my life. I always swear I will (positive or negative) and either forget or not have enough time. There was no way I was going to go without voicing my complaints regarding DR Horton Builders & every party involved with them.

Their lack of communication between each other is absolutely unbelievable. Not to mention the communication with their customers.

1st) No matter who you call, what time of the day, during , no one will answer the phone. You will leave messages and they will simply not return your calls until last minute.

2nd) After our final walk-thru, there were so many things that needed to be fixed or repaired. It took weeks for these things to even be addressed by the property manager (which was only taken care of after I hassled them about it) and here we are one & a half months later still waiting on things to be fixed around the entire house.

3rd) This past weeks forecast has been in the upper 70s and 80s.

Our AC never even turned on. Called the AC company to come out & fix it. Come to find out, the electricians DR Hortons hires never even hooked the electirical wiring into the AC! How does someone that does this all day & everyday make such a huge mistake like this. Also, how did this house pass all of the inspections ? Did they even check this out, or just sign on the dotted lines?

I could go on for pages & pages stated every detail & dishonest act DR Horton has pulled with us.

Basically, buying a home is supposed to be one of the most exciting times of your life, and dealing with everyone involved with and through DR Horton builders has been complete hell. We are so disappointed, disgusted, and (honestly) very itic for choosing DR Horton to build our home.

If I could give any advice to new future home buyers, it would be to do as much research as humanly possible before choosing your builders.

I can 100% guarantee DR Horton is not the right choice for you.

Review: I purchased a home from DR Horton in Lexington SC in September 2013, and since this time I have been unable to get any consistent service from the organization and most of the items we agreed to during the purchase process, or had promised to me by [redacted] or [redacted] have not been fulfilled. The work that has been completed has been done to the bare minimum to get in and out, and most repairs have been sub-standard and required multiple visits to correct what should be minor issues. We are now near the end of our first year and have multiple safety and construction issues that must be addressed. Every single interaction with the local South Carolina office has resulted in items being promised but with little to no actual delivery until I copy my attorney in on requests.

As of 8/6/2014 I am still waiting for my front and back doors to be painted, multiple windows that were incorrectly installed to be replaced, plumbing issues to be fixed, and safety railings to be properly installed.Desired Settlement: I would like the following:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint I[redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Meetings with the builder happen all the time, as well as promises that have not been met. Representatives from DR Horton did come to the meeting yesterday to review the open items, however at that time we still do not have any scheduled work to address the actual issues. Our front and back doors are still not properly finished, this has now been in mid-repair for over 115 days. We were told service people would be at the house to begin addressing the issues with the balusters this morning, as of 10 am we still have not heard from the vendor, and there are over 15 other items that need to be fixed or resolved and these are not scheduled.

Review: I first gave notice on Nov. 14, 2013 of the concrete driveway, walks, & patio concrete dusting/deteriorating. [redacted] of D R Horton, solution of coating has been an inexpensive & unsuccessful attempt to resolve the problem. [redacted], D R Horton superintendent, has stated that coating is not the solution to the problem.

Many of us in Woodlawn are on fixed incomes and were attracted by D. R. Horton's homes , which appeared to require minimum upkeep. There are four (4) homes on Truxton Street with this problem and possibly more in the subdivision. Concrete, meeting the correct specifications & properly placed and finished, is low maintenance and does not require a coating. I only want what I paid for, not an additional expense to fix a problem.

I have notified D. R. Horton with at least 3 emails and several conversations, with no resolution.Desired Settlement: Replacement of driveway, sidewalks, and patio concrete.

MESSAGE:

On May 13th, D R Horton removed the front drive & sidewalk concrete. The next day a heavy rain flooded the area, sending water into my garage and damaging my mother's antique trunk. The day after the rain, without removing the mud or drying out the area, they poured the new concrete paving. The new paving now has mold in the concrete and slopes to the house instead of away. The patio slab has never been replaced. I asked Mr. [redacted] of D R Horton what he would do to help me and he responded that D R Horton would not do anything more - they were finished with it.

After several weeks of trying to get someone from D R Horton to call me, [redacted] called on July 18 and agreed to see me on July 28. Mr. [redacted] took pictures and also looked at the patio slab. He was to get back with me that afternoon, but did not call. I called him yesterday and he said [redacted] would be in touch with me. Not hearing from Mr. [redacted] I called him this morning July 30 and his response was that he would look at it again.

I took possession of my new D R Horton home on September 23, 2013. I am currently dealing with repairs to termite damage and a lengthy, stressful resolution to my concrete problem.

Review: DR Horton building superintendent has been to our home and told us for over 2 months they would replace balcony doors. He ordered wrong doors then asked would we be okay with doors and yet to replace them. This is the third time we have tried to resolve this issue. There is a constant draft from the doors. This is totally unprofessional.Desired Settlement: Please finish the job soon

Dispute Resolution, Ad Review

Review: This is a complaint about DR Hortons product and service during my recent home purchase experience. It was agreed that I would be afforded the right to inspect my new home after it was built, and that any issues and defects would be promptly corrected, as DR Horton was still in progress of building the home. When the time came, I was taken on a home inspection by [redacted], DR Hortons Warranty Representative. [redacted] has failed miserably to satisfy this agreement. He was argumentative about defects, and very difficult and evasive about recording them. In addition, during the inspection [redacted] denied us access to locations within the home that was requested to be viewed, and would not allow us to inspect them. As an example, I had requested if we could view the attic, and was told by [redacted] that he does not allow buyers to view the attic and that it is not allowed on his home inspections. He only allowed a tight time frame and allowed us to see only what he wanted to show. Not only was it very difficult to have [redacted] note these items during the course of the home inspection, what is more disconcerting is that he has been antagonistic in making the necessary corrections. There have been numerous defects with the home ranging from incorrectly diagrammed/installed a/c connections within walls to incorrectly sized drain pan for washer causing instability issues. [redacted]'s response to addressing these issues reflects a clear lack of professionalism, service, and caring that DR Horton has for its customers. [redacted] has continually mishandled, miscorrected, made false statements to us, resorted to name calling, and has even hung up the phone on me. At this point, I am unsure of [redacted]s mental stability, and fear that not only has he improperly performed his duties thus far in regards to my home, but is influencing and bearing continued ill-will towards my family and new home.Desired Settlement: I have not been able to obtain proper concern over my circumstances when discussing this situation with other DR Horton representatives that have been involved with my home purchase. Presently the only thing I am convinced they are concerned about, is that I don't consider [redacted] work ethics when doing their surveys. I am unsure how to have my concerns heard; therefore, I have no recourse but submit this complaint hoping for some action on this matter.

Business

Response:

Customer Service has contacted the homeowner.

Review: D.R. Horton has promised to redirect water that was directed from a neighbor's property onto my property with a French drain and pipe drain under the lawn. They also promised to replace the sod that has been damaged on my side and back yards. The drain has not been properly installed. There are rocks at the grass level and the ground is not sloped toward the drain on the side of the house. The sand above the drain and below the sod is washing away so there is no soil on which the sod will root. The drain at the end of the pipe is a pop up which makes the water pool in the area around it instead of moving into the street.

The issue with water on the side of my house began as soon as I moved into this home. DR Horton has made a couple of attempts to fix it however the job has never been completed.

On January 23rd, Mike Bass from DR Horton promised me that the repairs would be taken care of in March when the sod would no longer be dormant, however nothing has been done to make this happen even though I have pursued it with DR Horton.Desired Settlement: The lawn on the garage side and back (near corner of the house and fence gate) should be picked up and graded again to slope toward the french drain. The sand above the french drain needs to be added and repacked for entire length. Add a drain at the “low” side of the french drain to slow the water that flows from the neighbor on the garage side and prevent it from flowing into the neighbor at 632 Sea Doo Dr. Sod needs to be replaced above the entire length of the french drain and over all of the areas that have been graded again. Connect the gutters on the 632 side of the house into the drainage system. Cut a hole into the curb so that the drain can drain directly into the street. Pack the dirt on each end of the sidewalk where the water flows underneath. The area between the sidewalk and the street on the garage side of the house should be filled to be level with the sidewalk the sod in this section should be replaced.

Review: DR Horton has failed to address warranty issues in a timely fashion. Warranty requests linger for months before repair dates are scheduled. Once repairs are scheduled, the contractors continually miss appointment and the repairs are not done correctly.Desired Settlement: the repairs to be done correctly and in a timely fashion.

Review: To whom this may concern we have now been in our home going on three years. We have repeatedly had issues with each builder in the D.R. Horton community. Before our purchase we were told that even after moving in that everything would still be taken care of with our home. This was stated by [redacted] which is why she told us D.R. Horton was Americas greatest builder. This is not a true statement within this community. There have been several issues with not only our home but many homes in our community. Our building manager [redacted] has been extremely unprofessional. We have follow up letters that we sent to atlwarranty.com with D.R. Horton expressing our concerns within our home. We've been more then patient and understanding that were not the only home that needs to be taken care of, but were going on three years now and its time were taken care of as well. With our 11 month walk painters came out and left numerous amounts of nail pops on the wall with the stickers in place which [redacted] posted up. When the painters came out to paint that very next day they left many rooms unfinished as well where there was white paint they painted the walls with the stone mountain color. These photos were sent to [redacted]. He then sent more painters out about a month later. These painters painted our home the wrong color. On our walls we have several different shades of paint that is very noticeable in each room that was painted. [redacted] came out and took these pictures and still to this day has not got back to us in regards to painting our home. He told me the day he came that he would send a follow up email that very same day we've here'd nothing and this was June 30th, 2014. [redacted] also stated that the paint looked as if they didn't mix the paint the correct way and usually in this situation they will not repaint our home. How can this be? We didn't have an issue with color when the first painters came out. [redacted] was even shown where they have painted the base tan instead of white.Desired Settlement: We have been treated unfair as paying customers and we want what's wrong made right. Our garage as I've shown [redacted] still has yet to be painted. We are now living in a home that is not complete and looks horrible from the moment you walk in the door. The painting is not our fault so to be told that they might not be able to repaint our home is horrible business this is a problem that DR Horton created for us. We've been very patient even with no respone each day. Unprofessional. Thanks.

Response:

Most of the work is completed with the exception of paint, which is scheduled for Sept. 4th as that is the soonest everyone's schedules would coincide.

Review: Our builder contract included that our over-the-stove microwave would be vented to the exterior, so that cooking smells or smoke would be routed inside rather than back into the room. I have the signed contract showing that we paid $415 for "Vent cooktop hood to exterior from interior location". This was signed 04/12/13 and we took ownership of the home in September 2013 and was told this had been completed.

However, a GE appliance repair man came to our home on 06/06/14 to repair a problem with the microwave. When he took the microwave off the wall, he discovered two holes in the sheetrock that did not line up with the microwave vent, and there was no actual access for the venting to reach the exterior of the home. I took pictures of this and sent it to our D. R. Warranty rep, and he came out the same day and verified my concerns. He stated that it was not vented properly and our options would be: 1) do more construction for venting in the kitchen, which would include the loss of function of the cabinets over the microwave and stove, as well as a vent showing from between the cabinets and ceiling or 2) just be refunded for the service not performed and reroute the microwave vents to circulate back into the room. He also stated that the only way the exterior venting would have worked would be this way, so I'm also concerned that the original construction supervisor did not know this, share this info with us, or honor it for that matter.

We opted to receive a refund. I have submitted 2 written warranty requests about this refund, I have contacted our warranty rep, [redacted] and we have been in contact twice with [redacted] We have been told they will refund us for this service, however, it has now been 3 months with no further response and still no refund.Desired Settlement: Refund of $415 that we paid for services not performed ,as promised by D. R. Horton.

Review: While we were making choices for our new home my husband and I paid a substantial amount of money extra for an exposed aggregate driveway. We drove by the job site where our house was being built on average of once a day. The day our aggregate driveway and our concrete slab for the air conditioner were laid it was raining. When we drove to the house we noticed that rain was running off the roof and damaging the newly laid aggregate and concrete. The next day I contacted the builder and stated my concern regarding this issue. He dismissed the concern and stated it was not an issue and it would not be noticeable once the drivaway was finished. During our walk through a week before closing it was not fixed and the damage was very noticeable. We express our disappointment and demanded it be fixed. The builder once again dismissed the urgency of our concern and promised it would be fixed before closing. The day of closing the builder did a final walk through with us. The driveway was still not fixed. The builder stated he put out an order for the concrete people but they were to busy. He promised it would be fixed within a month. A month went by and nothing was done to fix the driveway. Three months after moving in we filled out our 90 day "fix it" form with the builder with many items listed needing fixed including the damaged driveway. A representative came out to our house and looked at all the items on the list. He agreed that the driveway was damaged and promised it would be fixed. That was three months ago and the driveway has still not been fixed. We tried to reach out to the representative but he did not call us back. Our driveway is starting to become more damaged due to loose pebbles and we want this issue fixed. We paid extra for an aggregate driveway, and it was not laid properly. We have other issues we want fixed as well but this is the big ticket item that was promised to be fixed before we even moved in January '14.

Please Help!Desired Settlement: We would like our aggregate driveway to be re-laid. We would also like a company representative to contact us regarding other issues needing fixed. We expect this representative to keep us informed on the progress of any and all repairs.
