Engine Shopper Reviews (517)

I am writing in response to your letter regarding a Ms [redacted] She had purchased an engine from us back on June 30, for a Mazda and it was sent to her in a timely mannerShe had called us on October 29, to report that she had blown a head gasket on the engine and that she was going to take it to a shop and get it checked outOn December 16, she had called to us to report that the shop came to a conclusion and it definitely was the head gasket, we had told her we do not cover head gaskets, and was not eligible for the parts and labor guarantee because it was never activated however we would still exchange the engine for her, we have not heard back from her since that call

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I was SHOCKED to read the response from the business The only truth in that statement was that the damaged items were the front pulley and the timing cover None of what they claim to have "told" me was ever said, and I did not "wait" three months to file a claim The engine was delivered on January 2, The damage was reported immediately upon unwrapping the engine, which was delivered and unwrapped in front of witnesses The damage was documented by pictures at that timeI called Engine and Transmission world immediately after the damage was found I spoke to ***, who told me to send the invoice for the repair and I would be reimbursed For reference, I sent, on January 4th, the original pictures of the damage Two weeks later, I re-sent the pictures along with the invoice for the repair A week after that, I followed up with a phone call that was not returned, and another email For the next three months, I sent emails and made phone calls that were not returned On March 18, 2015, I received the following email from ***: "We got it and we will give you credit for switching the pulleys." When I still hadn't been reimbursed four weeks later, I followed up with another email I have yet to be reimbursed All of the emails were included in my original Revdex.com complaint Obviously, no one bothered to read them Regards, [redacted]

If the correct engine just so happens to be faulty, Mr *** would need to provide us with all of his so called documentation from an A.S.E Certified garage, and make is available for pick up in the state of Washington, so the replacement engine can also be shipped to the state of WashingtonHe would not qualify for labor coverage because his extended warranty has not been activated yet, neither has he driven the vehicle for days and miles

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] There is/was no contract between [redacted] and Engine And Transmission World, aka Engine Shopper, IncEngine And Transmission World had no agreement/authority to charge my account

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] The claim that they did not know where the engine went is not validI sent copies of bills of lading to [redacted] on 9/5/14, again to [redacted] on 9/17/and 1/11/followed by copies to [redacted] on 12/11/and he confirmed receiving the copies on 12/16/when I was told for the 6th time he had to research it and promised he would call me backThey have received these copies times plus the ones I again sent you, yet no one has ever attempted to call back or make this rightThis has been going on continuously for months, and every time I do get a response it has been the same...send us proof so we can find where the engine wentIt took me less than minutes and a single phone call to Appleton Recycling to find out that the engine had been melted down for scrapIt was directed there from WebPro engines when I told them it was the wrong engine and that it needed returned for a refundI had no knowledge of Appleton Recycling until 6/3/when it was delivered, and the pickup order was issued by WebPro on 6/11-In short, they have used me to pay for their mistake and refuse to admit itI was offered a refund in June minus restocking fee (the engine was melted for scrap...not restocked) and shipping (They told me by phone a e-mail there would be no charges if it were the wrong engine before I purchased it) Regards, [redacted] ***

Like we had stated we are in the used parts business, the that is in the illustration listed on ebay is a re-manufactured headIf he wants to use a new or re-manufactured head he is more than welcome, but we will not cover it because we do not deal in new or re-manned partsWe only deal in the used parts business

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowIn their response, they said that “Our system records all attempts to activate the warranty automatically as a log file”They have my email on file did they contact me? They did not email me the link to the warranty site to activate the warranty even if I had not install the transmission? They did not Regards, [redacted] ***

I purchased a used Toyota transmission from Quality Used Transmission for $on May 24, invoice # [redacted] I received the transmissionDue to some financial constrain, I did not install the transmission until 8/2/The Transmission was not goodMy vehicle did not move after the transmission was installed.I called for a replacement or refund and was told to submit the labor and parts receipt from the garage that did the installationI submitted itWhen I called to follow up on my reimbursement, I was informed that because I did not install the transmission within days, they are not responsible I paid $to install the transmission They refused to refund me the part and laber is stated in the order below of $ I was informed by the Grand Rabids MI Revdex.com they this business Customer service is handle by you Item Ordered ( [redacted] Toyota 4Runner Transmission Automatic Transmission cyl Four Wheel Drive Year or 12K miles Parts and Labor) Your help in resolving this matter is highly appreciated Thanks, [redacted]

The complainant did not officially cancel the order through the Online Cancellation System until Since the complainant waited well over the time frame of hours to cancel the order with no restocking fee, we incurred the expense of processing the part to get ready for shipment As stated and agreed upon when placing an order in the Terms and Conditions of the sale on Line 3: “All returned parts or cancelled orders are subject to a 25% handling and restocking fees plus customer assumes all shipping costs.” In this case we waived in shipping fees due to the order not be shipped yet Furthermore, the complainant initiated a chargeback attempt on with the Credit Company used when placing an order Until this chargeback attempt is resolved we can discuss or come to any sort of agreement

We do apologize that Mr. [redacted] did not read the warranty before hand, but that is just how the warranty works, it is all on the website and you can review it before making the purchase. Also you have to agree to our terms and conditions at the time of purchase. It is also was approved and regulated by the U.S. Government, if our warranty was that bad or we were doing something wrong, the State or government would not allow us to operate.

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowFirst, the business did not address the issue as outlined in the complaint They appeared to imply that the mileage was added afterwards Then they stated their day policy which doesn't apply if they represent a 56,mile engine but sold me a 179, mile engine They stated the engine had 56,miles when they sold it to meThe engine has a Vehicle Identification Number affixed to it by law I asked them on three occasions what the mileage was or verification of mileage I trusted them to be honest brokers of their product They misrepresented the engine as having only 56,miles when in fact the CarFax report with that engine VIN number shows it having 179,miles when they sold it to me This is misrepresenting the vehicle miles by over 124,miles My Vin on my vehicle is not the same as the engine they sold so their attempt to state thye miles may be mine after install is baseless and without merit Second, I have emailed them on multiple occasions, I have email records to prove this I'm not aware of anyway knowing that they misrepresented the actual miles on the engine they sold without having another company perform a CarFax report This happened by pure coincidence since Engine and Transmission World proclaimed to be a honest dealer and that can be trusted to stand by their claims and product In this case, they clearly misrepresented as can be seen by their attached email (Re_Re_EAT...7633B-.pdf) representing 56,miles when I inquired and again when I purchased the warranty for a 56,mile engine Third, I have attached the CarFax for the engine they sold me and the CarFax (Engine CarFax.pdf) for the vehicle I own (Xterra CarFax.pdf) and it was installed in The VINs are different and the histories are different It would appear that Engine and Transmission World is suggesting that the engine is different than the one they sold, yet if I had to have warranty work, that's exactly the number they would have to use Bottom line is that they lied and misrepresented the engine as a low mileage engine at 56,miles and when it was checked during routine maintenance, it was discovered that it had over 179,miles when they sold it to me That is a fact and can't be denied by the documentation I have provided If they offer no remedy, then I ask the Revdex.com to hold this complaint as substantiated and business would not offer a remedy Regards, [redacted]

Per our warranty terms gaskets are not coveredPlease read what you agreed to

face="Verdana">Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowWe were never told nor shown where we could find the warranty that we activated As a matter of fact were told we didn't even activate the warranty We had no knowledge of the handwritten oil change The auto repair shop always writes their invoices and receipts They are a business it was not an individual that changed the oil or put this engine in for the labor of $My wife has worked in offices her entire adult life and knows of several computer programs and not every office or business has one This is ludicrousThe Engines & Transmission World even told us we didn't activate our warranty When we showed them by fax that we had they still did not contact us How can we be held responsible for something we knew nothing of? I found this online when today 4/16/was the first time we were told that the warranty online applied to our product: ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS & OWNER/USER OBLIGATIONS FOR THIS WARRANTY TO REMAIN IN EFFECT.Engine oil and filter MUST be changed at the first 1, miles after installation and remaining oil and filter changes to follow manufacturers suggested schedule(Official Service Center Records must be kept - No personal maintenance records are accepted (Hand written etc.) This is not personal maintenance records but the business itselfThis is how they do business I have attached a copy of the labor charge with other charges that we ourselves paid Why did the business never contact us and what is the excuse for such poor customer service Each time a different or no excuse for why the warranty was denied Especially when no one there seemed to know we had even activated the warrantyI need answers and I need to know if this second engine dies that another will be sent I need to know that this company will even answer the phone call if we have to call them about anything at all It has been proven to us that they do not answer, do not return their messages if you even get to a mailbox that isn't fullToday I asked a representative the mileage on this second engine and I as of now still do not know even the mileage I asked for the owner of this business's name and address and was not given an answer but told to go to another website This website gives only information that never pertains to what you need to ask so therefore you are told to call When you call no one answers and you are hung up on Is this any way to run a business? Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Fortunately, GotEngines.com customer Service calls are said to be recordedA review of those calls will show that I, in no way, threatened or implied that I would not return the faulty engine unless they paid for my laborI did state that I felt that they should be responsible and, on another call, after they had failed to ship the replacement engine as they stated in an e-mail that they had, I did say that I was uncomfortable committing myself to the cost of removing the bad engine without having a replacement on handTo this they responded that they would not send a replacement engine without the faulty engine first being in transit back to them, unless I signed an agreement promising to pay for a second engine should the faulty engine not be returned to them in a specified amount of timeThat, to me, is unacceptable, in part, because I do not have control over the time frame and schedule of the repair shop, but also because I believe that GotEngines.com knowingly sent a faulty engine to begin with (there are just too many other complaints out there for this to be just an aberration)I have been nothing but pleasant with the people I have spoken with there as one can hear on the "recording" I have at no time been and, in fact, am incapable of being confrontational due to several brain injuries and brain surgery I have sufferedI have been unemployed for more than months and am borrowing the money to repair my carWhile I do feel GotEngines should be liable for the labor costs of installing the faulty engine they provided (note that the auto repair shop manager stated that there was nothing that could happen to an engine in shipping that would cause the engine to be so obviously faulty and it is his opinion that the engine was either never tested or known to be bad by the technicians at GotEngines.com) However, at this point I would just like them to provide what I paid forA functional engine with less than 40,milesIt should be noted that there are numerous reviews that I have discovered online that make very similar complaints to my ownI would hope that GotEngines.com would be eager to avoid having, yet another, dissatisfied customerMoreover, I would hope that the company's management would just want to take the right and appropriate action Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] As previously stated I had called your company right away after the trucking company called and stated that could not delivery to my residence as was arranged by your company when order was placed You have dealt with the trucking company for numerous deliveries as you had stated so you should know if they could or could not delivery Otherwise you should not offer the service and charge for it When I called your company stated that they could not just make delivery changes without your approval which they never got If you had contacted them when I called and found out why all of a sudden they couldn't delivery as promised I would have been able to arrange a better time to meet them But since I could not and you did nothing to help I was unable to and therefore made the best decision at the time to be able to receive the engine Your company has done nothing to assist me once my order was placed which in my option is very poor customer service If you had helped as promised when you had called me we could have ended this a long time ago I am looking for nothing more than to be reimbursed for the damaged parts that needed to be replaced

Our Customer Service Representative specifically stated in the email “we will offer a credit to you if your mechanic thinks the engine is still useable.” After the removal of the head, the mechanic deemed the engine as unusable The reason the CSR stated that we would only offer credit if the engine is useable is due to the fact that the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty clearly states, which all customers must agree to before making their purchase, under Line of the Limitations section: “Warranty does not cover initial installation.” We sent out a replacement on 4/and we have not been notified the engine has been installed and no Warranty activation attempt has been made on the replacement engine The complainant still has both engines and we will be forced to take legal action if the initial engine is not returned in the next days

customer changed her phone# so the trucking company could not get a hold of her before making a deliveryshe has to pay freight charges to get it redelivered

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Per the terms on the SWE website SWE warrants to the original purchaser that each used engine sold by SWE shall be free from knocking, excessive oil consumption and cracks in the block, subject to the following terms and conditions The engine that we bought is experiencing excessive oil consumption; while this is due to a defective head gasket the company quality department should have caught this defect before shipping the engine SWE is using legal trickery to mislead customers into thinking that they have a warranty Yet they are trying to deny every claim This is evident by the low customer satisfaction and numerous business complaints This is not ethical and to accept this response would lead to other consumers being sold defective products while SWE benefits financially while the consumer is left with additional repair bills that were directly related to the engine SWE always refers back to their warranty However they were late on delivery and poor on customer service when we first ordered the part It took nearly a month to receive the engine that was committed 7-days SWE has poor business customer service and defective products as such I would never recommend them for any one seeking an engine I am not satisfied with this response and wish to pursue further Regards, [redacted] ***

There was nothing on the website or in the paperwork that was sent that stated any of the claimed actions needed to be taken placeI can have written documentation from the mechanic shop staying when the engine was put in shown to the company to show that it was put in the vehicle as soon as it was recieved Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] ***
