EOS Fitness Reviews (800)

Hello,
This was refunded and cancelled as of this morning.
Member signed up for PT with her fiance's card, so that is why the issues have been occurring.
Sincerely,

I am a mother of two and getting into a gym with daycare is very difficult. Finally I committed to EOS Fitness and the day care they have. I've been going for a week now and realized EVERYTIME I was finished both my kids were beyond happy to leave there. And my 11 month old daughter was always poopy (they said they'd come get my if she needed a diaper change) and always looked as tho she was crying the whole time. Well today (4/10/16) I went to drop my girls off at the day care and one of the ladies (older Asian with short grey hair) grabs my youngest by her arm and ya is her back. My daughter was trying to walk towards me. Clearly she wasn't ready to go in and play. But this women yanks her back works by her arms again. As a mother that's where I lost it. Made it very clear to let go of my child before I did the same to her!

At this point I am canceling my membership and writing this review. So much for working out back in a gym atmosphere and thinking people in these positions can be trusted. I will NEVER step back into this gym. (Except for next week when I meet with the GM)

It should not take up to 5 business days to return my money for someone else's mistake.  After reading through the...

complaints I can say this definitely isn't the first time this has happened to someone.

My complaint is regarding EOS Fitness. On June 25, 2014 my wife entered a membership agreement with Gold’s Gym in Goodyear, Arizona. In order to complete the annual agreement she had to provide Gold’s with access to our bank account information. The agreement stated that there would be a $40 annual fee every July 15, and a monthly withdrawal of $15.95 on the 15th every month, until cancelled. I only agreed to allow access to my bank account because of my familiarity with Gold’s Gym’s brand. On June 18, 2015 my wife called to cancel the membership and was told that due to a required 30 notice, one more $15.95 payment would be deducted on July 15. This was wrong because my wife had no interest in being a member for a full month following July 15, so at most, a pro-rated 3 day charge should have applied. Around July 18, I noticed that $54.95 had been deducted from my account by EOS Fitness. On July 20, we drove past the Gold’s Gym building and observed that the name on the front of the building had been changed from Gold’s Gym to EOS Fitness. We went inside and met with General Manager, Ana A[redacted] to find out why they had access to my bank account information and had withdrawn $54.95 without approval. Ms. A[redacted] explained that they had taken the $15.95 monthly fee as well as another $40 annual fee. I asked to see a copy of the contract that my wife signed and noticed that the Gold’s Gym name had been removed and replaced with EOS Fitness, which was troubling. Even more troubling was seeing that they’d fraudulently applied my wife’s signature in several places throughout their document. My wife hadn’t entered into any such agreement. In fact, we had never even heard of them. And Gold’s Gym had given them access to our confidential bank account information, which was even more troubling. Ms. A[redacted] claimed that she didn’t have the authority to replace the money back into our bank account. She promised to contact her District Manager, Duane A[redacted] and tell him our concerns. She assured me that on the following day, I would be contacted by Mr. A[redacted], herself, or both. The next morning, July 21, Ms. A[redacted] called and said that she had spoken to the district manager and told him my concerns. He instructed her to ask whether my wife and I would be satisfied with a promise of 1 free month each at his gym, if we ever decided to re-join. I declined the offer and said that my satisfaction was contingent upon the reimbursement of my money. Ms. A[redacted] told me that Mr. A[redacted] would call me himself, that day. That was July 21, 2015. As of today September 22, I have not been contacted by anyone from EOS Fitness. I am upset because EOS Fitness forged my wife’s signature on a fraudulent document and I discovered that this company had actually started withdrawing from my account in February, 2015. To date they’ve withdrawn $134.70 without permission and I’m seeking reimbursement. The number of people that they have probably done this to is disturbing. Please stop them. I truly believe this is fraudulent practice and that others like me need you to take action for them.

Hi [redacted]
We have waived all of the NSF fees. The past due balance of $126.29 needs to be paid to be able to cancel your membership.
Sincerely,
EOS Fitness

It will be posted within 7 business days from the original response date.

Hello,

We have gone thru the details of your account and the bank statements that you had provided us.
There was only one NSF fee from EOS. It looks like you had one from FORD also. We had already issued a refund in March 2016, as well as re fund for personal training...

sessions that had been used. To date, we have refunded $222, so that covers everything and more.Sincerely,
EOS Fitness

EOS Fitness: The account was cancelled in April.

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!! There are hidden fees, and the service is impossible to cancel. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I found out the hard way with this gym. I was told.. No.. I was PROMISED that if I were to cancel my membership, it would simply be a $15 fee. Now when I talk to membership services, they say I cannot cancel unless I have a disability, military deployment, or relocated. AND I have to pay a fee of $100+ along with one of those (none of which apply to me!!!).
I have tried to call membership services many times to cancel, and each employee that I spoke to gave me different information. Now when I call, I am redirected to another line where I do not even have the option to speak to a person.
This company has fraud written all over it. They will scam you for your money. I'm now stuck in a useless membership that I cannot cancel because this company deceived me. Because EOS has scammed and trapped me into their business, I am going to do everything I can to make sure that NO ONE else falls for this deceptive company by joining this gym. I just want out!!!!!
Don't become trapped in this misleading membership like I did!! EOS IS NOT THE GYM FOR YOU, FRIENDS!

DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM. Total scam, be careful that you are being charged what you agreed to. I was charged an annual fee of $55, and I was aware there was annual fee in my contract, but in my contract it actually specified that the amount was $40. I went to cancel and they tried charging me all sorts of fees... but I didn't remember agreeing to any cancellation fees so I asked for a copy of my contract, turns out I never even signed one or at minimum they knew they didn't have one on file and still tried to get away with it. Over the time I spent trying to cancel it I spoke to a minimum of 5 people who all said they were looking at my signed contract. They eventually sent me a contract with my information on it and "MEMBER SIGNATURE NOT OBTAINED" all over it.

Hi [redacted],
Your membership with Eos Fitness was cancelled and any balances waived on 6/3/2016. The 'Return for...

EOS Fitness

Hi [redacted],

Sincerely,
EOS Fitness

I am dissapointed in this response as the situation was not closely looked at. I feel mislead by the sales rep and amount taken from me. Though the resolution some support it does not explain the errant charges such as sign up Fee and double billing. I would appreciate half waiver of fees based on what was told to me throughout the process. I was very honest with your sales associate and restated $15 a month and they confirmed this was the case. Having access to my bank account doesn't give a company the right to use poor tactics and poor ethics to secure money. When I signed up there was large promotion given and was told 15 a month and no sign up fee. Clearly my account does not reflect this, nor does it appear that the company is taking to the error that was clearly made. Please relook in to this situation as using misleading sales tactics hurts individuals and will certainly create a poor organization.

Hello,
We have submitted the refund for this. Please be advised that it may take up to 5 business days for the refund to be posted.
Sincerely,
EOS Fitness

EOS Fitness continues to charge our account even though we have requested cancellation. In 2014, I signed a contract...

for monthy membership at Golds Gym for $16.95/mo. EOS honored that rate. I signed up for a free month of personal training class "UP" in October and asked to be removed from the class and charges after the free month. I spoke with the manager Justin and he said he would take care of taking me off of the list and charges. November until current day we continue to be charged the $120/mo for the UP classes. I called the facility over 35 times between November and current day, I have spoken with the manager Keith who referred me back to Justin who said he would take care of it. It has not yet been taken care of and we continue to be charged. I have attempted multiple times to cancel my membership entirely at EOS Fitness, however, because I signed said "UP" contract (which I never did and asked multiple times to be taken off the list/charges) I cannot end membership before 12 months. We should be refunded from the following amounts:
December 1: $120 (of the $135.95 charged)
December 28: $170 (of the $186.95 charged)
January 28: $131 (of the $147.95 charged)
February 29: $131 (of the $147.95 charged)
March 28: $131 (of the $147.95 charged)
Also, we want our account cancelled and closed.

Thank you.
