I did not have a good experience while working with QuickenCommunication was very bad and there were long delays in getting to the close Quicken's excuse was every loan is different, but since my loan was with them already, they had all my informationThey totally dropped the ball
It felt and looked a lot like bait and switch to meI get the feeling a lot of people take you Quicken banker's word for things without actually reading the documents they presentMy mortgage was sold to Quicken from another lender and after a few months, I got a call from Quicken asking if I wanted to refinance to remove my PMII have heard about these loans but have not researched themThe banker said, "no cost for closing and nothing added to the loan balance"When they presented the documents, there was a $cost to borrower listed on the estimateWhen questioned, the banker said that the system automatically does the numbers but didn't know that insurance/taxes were paidI hadn't given any money but did ask multiple times, "this isn't going to cost anything, right?" and "I can back out when I want, right"A care specialist emailed me to ask for more "to-do" documents and said that my escrow account would be liquidated, used to pay down the balance and that a new escrow account would be createdConsidering that the escrow pays my insurance and taxes and that it is funded over the year, I asked how that affected my escrow contributionsShe could not answerI also asked why the loan amount was higher than my current balanceShe could not answerWhen the banker called to answer these questions, he said that all is well, blah blah blah and asked if I had been burned by another mortgage company.........NoI am just not an it and you solicited me, not other way aroundThe numbers didn't line up as is and all of this was only to remove the PMI, a small savingsA new disclosure came out after our call that now had a loan amount higher than my current balance, money being used from my loan to pay closing costs and if what they said about using my escrow to pay the current loan balance..........would have added up to $again, just reflected as $out of pocketAt that point, I told them to cancel the processThey are super shady, period
In July of I contacted Quicken Loans to ask about refinancing my home through a VA refi I was told I would need to put a $deposit down to secure the appraisal and document fees to be done I was told that if for some reason the refinancing could not be done through VA, that a conventional loan would be explained to me The appraisal was done and the appraiser noted some areas that she wanted repaired Most of the repairs were completely ludicrous Other than a single-pane being broken on a double-pane window, the other issues were going to be thousands of dollars out of my pocket My goal of refinancing was so I could do repairs to my home, like put new siding on the home The rep stated after the appraisal that the VA loan was not going to happen so I could do a conventional loan if I liked I decided to try that route I asked if the appraisal would be used from the VA loan process and I was told it would and that the conventional loan appraisal process is much les

I recently decided to contact quicken loans about a refi of my PNC home eq loan I have been very unhappy with PNC they still have not told me when the loan ends after weeks, I requested a review of my loan several times with no responseIBelieve they just don't really care about customersSo off to quicken I was amazed how fast and easy it all was, it seemed like 1-weeks but actually to do everythingApply, appraise, approve, lock in rate, convert to year mortgage, no catches, fair placement feeVery nice service people, lawyer came to my house for closing documents, finished, just waiting for next step, a refund of funds not needed for final settlementI couldn't be happier and they saved me over $per monthSince I am retired, every dollar saved is a great help, costs of everything keep going up, but I have a certain amount of fixed incomeI am very pleased with Quicken Loan
