I recently decided to buy my first home since we have been renting for the last several yearsThe initiator of the Loan was super nice and explained everything to me so I was happy for a while knowing I had been approved for a mortgageI was building a custom home after the approval and explained this from the onsetThe builder however had base models from which the customization is based onFunny enough Quicken Loans decided to send out the appraiser on first day I told them I found the house I wantedThis was at a point when the house had only a frame and studs, nothing else insideThe appraiser brought back or so comparables and they were all the same price because none was sold yetThey were all baseNote that no houses are ever the same anyway
I took the time to explain to these guys after that there is a lot of customization and was going to provide them all documentations and comparable relative to my type of homeThese guys were not ready for any of thisThey read to me scripts for days while I attempted to get them to earn my businessLook Quicken Loans, if there was no human factor necessary in the mortgage business, you probably should just fire everybody and use robots because the workers you have seem to be robots anyway
I ended up going with a local mortgage company and they appraised the house over asking priceWith that, I already have equity even before moving inQuicken Loans ended up keeping my deposit as well even though the document provided to me from onset showed that appraisal was estimated between $and $Look, if you give both a lower limit and an upper limit of a transaction as the same value even my kindergarten daughter will tell you $is what your cost should beThe dubious representatives of Quicken decided to keep the entire deposit I paidSeems to me like they just have a bunch ofYou know what I will just try and be respectful but I am sure you all smart people get my driftFind a reputable local mortgage lender and ditch QuickenThey will overcharge you for origination fees anyway and tell you they are giving you credit
From start to finish the team handled everything in a very professional mannerIf I had a question, they were there with an immediate answerThe sale of my old house and purchase of my new house were both smoothI can't thank everyone enough
I have done refinancing in the past and Quicken Loans far exceeded my expectations In prior experiences it was almost like a second job getting all the necessary documents together, but with Quicken Loans it was painless Everything is automated and my Client Care Specialist even called my insurance company with me to make sure the right questions were asked to obtain the necessary paperwork Both Jin Suk, our Mortgage Banker and Kia Jones, our Client Care Specialist were professional and, to put it simply, nice A quality sometimes hard to find in our busy world My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed working with both and our overall experience with Quicken Loans was exceptional I highly recommend them!

Quicken Loans was one of the most efficiently executed transactions that I have ever had with a financial institution Their staff was also exceptional customer friendly
I worked with Christian klimkiewicz and Ted They were both fantastic I would highly recommend either of them They experience was very good Good communication and easy web site to navigate
The Quicken Loans Team for my mortgage-Dewayne Kassab and Reba Williams were always accessible, the ease of communicating with them for clarification and requirements definetly expedited the application/approval process
Worst placeThey claimed that I filled a home refinance profile on their system and calls me everyday about time a day using different numbersEven after asking their reps to remove me from their listNot sure how they got my info, but If someone tells you on phone that they are not interest then I assume you leave them alone rather than calling everyday using different numbers
Quicken? Rocket Mortgage? More like Quick-SAND and Turtle Mortgage Steer clear of these guys! My experience was the complete opposite of what their advertising statesTheir ads say: “Our caring team members want to make sure that you have the best experience possible.”

Because my home had a guest house as part of the property, they decided that they could not do my because the appraiser could not find any other homes nearby with a guest house to compare it to I said I didn't need the extra value of the guest house, so don't count it as part of the appraisal They said that didn't matter, they couldn't fund it They told me all I had to do was find one comparable house nearby with a guest home, and they would fund it So I contacted a realtor and spent some time to find homes within miles that had guest homes (were actually on my street, but they didn't count because they weren't for sale) I narrowed it down to the best matches and submitted it to Quicken THEN they said the homes weren't close enough, so didn't count Talk about bait and switch, and not living up to your word So I decided I needed to find another lender who could do the job In ten days, the other lender closed with meUnfortunately, Quicken at that point agreed to do the loan But I had already switched and felt like the new company deserved the loan, so I cancelled QuickenNow - on their side, they DID finally agree to fund But not until after basically telling me repeatedly that they could not do it AND - I DID sign the paperwork, which committed me to paying for the appraisal fee (BTW - the new company not only didn't charge me for the appraisal, they didn't charge any fees, either) I expected Quicken would agree that that fee should not apply because they took so long and I did the majority of the work on the loan They refused to waive the fee I talked with multiple people in customer service - way up the ladder, and they all said that since they ultimately agreed to do the loan, then I have to pay the fee I countered with the fact that I never would have started talking with another lender until they made it pretty clear that they could not fund it because of our guest house, and their only answer all along the way was that they couldn't help me Which takes me back to their advertising I listed at the top of the review, which states they are OBSESSIVE about providing me with a great mortgage experience Frankly, they provided me with one of my WORST experiences, and to make matters worse, everyone in their customer service deptsimply said they agreed to do it ultimately, so I need to pay the full fee I honestly don't know how they could have won those awards they listed My mistake for signing with a company that requires $up front in the first place Don't make the same one I did Rick G
