I was looking to refinance for lower interest and payment, saw a Quicken add and made contact with them In less than a month we closed, and my interest rate was reduced by 1.75% and monthly payment was reduced to a more manageable payment I was actually given more than one option for more or less closing cost but higher interest and monthly payment I chose the one that worked best for me The closing cost seemed a bit high to me, but with the type of loan and my income this loan was available to me There a business and provide this service quick and easy online they deserve to get paid, and cover the fees necessary Everyone was polite , courteous and upfront about the business at hand, A person came to the house to close the final documents I'm happy with the service and the results je

It is hard to believe reading some of the reviews that the other customers are dealing with the same company it may be different from team to team I would tell you that if you want the most difficult mortgage process possible look to Quicken Loans I have had the same documents requested again and again and I provide them screenprints where they have it in their file The underwriter seemed to get fun and sport out of making the loan officer, realtor and customer chase their tailsIt is one thing when it is for a valid reason and an investor or government requirementIt is quite another when they are just trying to prove they are the underwriter and they have power Most other firms would not tolerate that However, even after jumping through all the hoops and getting approval they request documents that were required by the underwriter and approved by the underwriter Then then lost the documents in their system It seems like the Quicken computer system is either very complicated or employees do not receive appropriate training Some of the employees try hard and are friendly but it seems like a giant out of control hamster wheel with lack of management supervision

I started with Quicken Loans in August Very friendly upfront As the process went along they became very out of touch Passed along to several different reps, but not moving the loan along After month and charging me $500.00, I got a call saying loan was canceled Reason giving was not enough comps to determine value This was a cop out excuse I would not recommend them to anyone They will take your money and leave you high and dry
I just closed on a new home on 07/29/ For the most part working with Quicken was a good experience the total time from the start of the process to the closing was about days which was very fast in my opinion My realtor, title company and the realtor of the home owners who we purchased our home from raved about quicken in general which was good to hear The things that make me write a neutral review is the actions of my mortgage banker Tim Robertson He had a very pushy, car salesman, sleezy style about him In my opinion he also used some dishonest tactics to close the deal with me and my wife Originally we were shopping several different mortgage companies and based upon the information given to us by MrRobertson we went with Quicken Then at the very end of the process, when there was no way to back out without several thousand dollars of lost money he pulled out the rug from under us and the deal changed Basically he gave us a guarantee that our payment would not exceed a certain estimate and then at the last second it was a revealed that it would be $more per month When we confronted him about it his demeanor completely changed and he went from overly nice pushy sales man, to very condescending and rude and actually stated "to be honest with you I think you're just trying to get a discount at the last second" He offered no help and just said that he mis-estimated the property tax and there was nothing he could do He then basically said take it or leave it
What I really want to stress is overall I think Quicken is a good company and I admire what there owner is doing for the Michigan and the Detroit area, I would even say that I would work with them again but I would not take there estimates as real and would add 10% to what they were telling me when comparing them to other companies
Finally beware of Mortgage Banker Tim Robertson, he is dishonest and is only interested in the sale If you get him as a mortgage banker I would ask for another one
Overall, my experience was positive We experienced some issues at the closing as Quicken Loans had incorrectly drawn up some of the closing documents which had to be redrafted by Quicken Loans and transmitted to the title company before we could finish our settlement With the exception of the time lost waiting on the documents to be redrafted and transmitted, the issue was resolved satisfactorily
