The application process for refinancing my home was nearly painless A few minutes on the phone answering some questions and a little time gathering some information to complete the application was all it took Within three weeks we closed and saved money on our monthly mortgage payment

Initially Quicken was greatDevin Wallis kept us informed about everythingAs things proceeded and our contact person changed again and again, I think something was lostWhen it came to the final reading & agreement of the house purchase contract, the monthly mortgage rate was over $more than what we had been toldWe "figured" that the increase was due to the required flood insurance - and yes, it was - but shouldn't someone have TOLD us about the increase and why? I was very annoyed toward the end!

They practice complete bait and switch techniques After giving me a quote for a home loan I was asked to give a $deposit, which I didShortly after my loan estimate jumped $,which I struggled with but agreed to procedeA few weeks later the appraisal on the property came back $8,lower than the purchase price ,and I was told I would need to cover this costI did not have $18,more than I was originally quoted, so I had to back out of the loan and my dream homeI asked Quicken when my deposit would be refunded and was told it went to the cost of the appraisalI explained that I was never told that the deposit was for an appraisal , that the deposit was to ensure I wouldn't shop around with another lender at this pointThey apologized that I was told this but they have a document I signed (in the mountain of documents I signed for this loan) saying the deposit was for an appraisal Stick with a local lender or a bank, quicken loans doesn't care about their customers,they only care about $$
I was interested in a refinance on my home which was at a 5% Arm at yearsI was capable for a VA loan.Jim Roberts got me started on this and explained the process.He was very thoroughI qualified for the VA loan at 3.75% but due to my property and VA requirements my out buildings had to be stripped,primed and repainted.Living in Minnesota the middle of October was not exactly a good time to get this done.Jim switched me to a conventinal loan at 3.87%.This was still a very good savings for me,and I did not have to re-paint all my out buildings.I can honestly say it was a great experience with JIm and Quikens loan.They did exactly what they said and did it in a prompt manner
No one I believe wants to pay closing costs but it is all part of the program.Thankyou Jim and Thankyou quikens loan on a job well done

I had a very complicated refinance due to divorce and a convoluted inheritanceThe staff was very patient and helpful, explaining what was needed and working to get the process finished in my required time limitThey were never pushyI will recommend Quicken to friends and family
Getting a loan was the easy partWe are professionals, have no debt, excellent credit scores, and money saved for a conventional loan We found a home, made an offer that was accepted in a multiple offer situation in a competitive marketQL ordered an appraisal that came in 20K below our offer This gave us a chance to renegotiate Without notifying any of the parties, QL ordered a second appraisal The deal was about blown My realtor found out, we initially assumed the seller had ordered the appraisal When I found out my lender had ordered it I was surprised and not happy I called QL and requested it be cancelled I was assured it would be and apologies were made A deal with the seller was signed based on the first appraisalThe next day, QL called me to say they were going ahead with another appraisal Why would a lender, knowing a borrower has the ability to negotiate a better price; and if not successful, has the liquidity to cover a higher price above the loan amount if he/she is able not be on their customer's side QL is no longer our lender Truly a horrible experience

My experience was FANTASTIC, exactly what I was hoping for: the process was easy, “rocket-quick,” up-front, and all documentation & communication easily accessible and available
I would recommend Quicken Loans to anyone that is considering the service and I hope to return as repeat-customer when my kids get ready to purchase their first home!
