I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

The Revdex.com needs to do a better job vetting out "businesses" if they gave Fanbox an A rating. It's clearly a scam and the letters giving good reviews are planted. Honestly, what this means to me is not to trust what the Revdex.com writes.

Review: I have tried repeatedly to contact the website,(fanbox),that sends email to our computer, to request that they STOP any correspondence to us. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The friend that Fanbox said invited me to join Fanbox says he has never heard of Fanbox and did not give them my name. If I activated an account it was a mistake. I do not want to be a member of Fanbox, and I want the Revdex.com to have Fanbox remove me from their membership rolls. I have asked them to do this and have received no reply. I don't owe them any money, and I am not interesting in their money. I just want out.

Review: I received an email from a company I was not familiar with called Fanbox. They claimed I had an account and I had "earned" a substantial bit of money but when I clicked on it to "cash out", it said I owed a fee and late charges? I had no idea what this was or what they were talking about so I clicked the help agent and asked him; "did I sign up for this or where they trying to solicit me?" He never answered. Unfortunately, I had logged into my Pay Pal because they said they needed to deduct .01 in order to deposit. When I realized this was a scam, I contacted Pay Pal immediately and they said it was indeed a "Phishing" scam. I changed my password immediately, but am very concerned they have access to my account.Desired Settlement: I DO NOT want them to have access to my funds or my bank account and I asked them to cease and desist immediately. I also want Revdex.com to notify others of illegal practices.

Response:

First I want to say that I NEVER set up an account w/ Fanbox in 2011, and if I had, why would it take 3 years for them to send me an email re: this account? This is clearly a phishing scam. I've changed my password on Paypal and reported to them as well. Having said that, I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: FanBox claims to be a site that allows you to generate money while essentially doing nothing. However, the site does not actually perform the service it claims to provide. FanBox also sends large amounts of spam emails, and although FanBox's emails feature an “unsubscribe” link, I cannot get rid of these emails. What makes these emails more harmful is it tries to get a hold of my contact and financial details or otherwise exploit my finances. Because they get a hold of my contact details (without permission, I might add), they also do the same to those in my contact list.Desired Settlement: I demand that Fanbox delete my account and, if any, and remove my contact & financial details from their servers; cancel all earnings and service fee pending or charged my account; and stop contacting me in future.

Review: I became a member and proceeded to sell products through their website. the stated understanding was that I would be paid for the products sold through the website. I put forward the money to ship and deliver these products, and am now out the money to ship them and the value of the products. it is approximately 75 dollars that I have paid, in value of products and shipping, which they are now refusing to pay me for. people who purchased them used their money to pay me, however fanbox is trying to confiscate the money and refuses to pay me for the shipping and products.

truly my complaint is much larger than this, for they do several of the things in those categories. they use lying by omission, and cannot be held accountable for what they say, they deliberately mislead people into thinking things are one way, and then make up some justification of their fraudulent actions. and then the delete members whenever they want and confiscate earnings. they have multiple illegal terms in their agreement, which they dont make clearly transparently known, and are not acting in good faith. the deliberately mislead people to the nature of their scam.Desired Settlement: I want to be paid for the products I shipped out to their customers, as was understood by both myself and the buyers.this is 75 dollars approx that I am owed. they deleted my account without finishing up their end of the deal, so I cannot look up the exact amounts. they have them on record though. and I have a record of everyone who I sold and shipped to...but because they have weird pricing system I do not know the exact amount, only that it is around 75 dollars that they owe me.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

I am tempted to accept the business offer to FINALLY agree to pay me for what I sold. they have previously REFUSED to do so.

this is much futher than I ever thought I would get, and for the sake of many others who experience the same thing, and because without having been questioned by a third party they would not have done so, I have some additional requests. I am not sure this is possible, but since I feel I am finally being heard and given at least part of what dealing with fanbox has cost me, I should be satisfied, and for the most part I am. but I feel this is their common method for dealing with people and if I have an ear for a moment there are things I need to have said and heard.

I wrote about 40 letters I have had to write to try to get them to do this, and they have always (before now) tried to say they were not obligated to pay me for what I sold, unfairly.

however I have some issue about the wording of their letter, which seems to imply and present things in a way which is not correct. they are famous in my mind for doing such, implying and presenting things in one way, making it sound good and like what they do is acceptable, but the actuality of it is quite different.

I have finally read their statement at the Revdex.com, and found it contains some errors, and misrepresentations. I didnt want to go on and on in my complaint, so I tried to keep it short, but I would like for them to change this misrepresentation, and futher make it so that other people do not experience the same theft and feeling ripped off due to their misrepresentation. maybe it doesnt matter at this point, but seeing as how this is the first time in my fourty letters I have had to write they have responded with even a shred of integrity, but I would like to add in some additional information.

for one in the review posted on Revdex.com, they have stated that fanbox sends out an email when they are about to charge someones card, and allows people to opt out of automatic payment. this is NOT entirely true.

they sent me an email that they were about to charge my card and two minutes later that they had already done so.

so there was no opportunity or choice to opt out of automatic payment. I have proof of this, in one emailed date and time stamped saying they were about to charge my card, and another two minutes later saying they had charged my card.

there was no opportunity to opt out, though this is one of the misrepresentations that started my problems with them, because they like to present that this is the case, when it is not. more lying by omission. because of this the payment they tried to take (twice btw, they tried before deleting my account to do yet another unauthorized charge) and by which they try to justify stealing my earnings, was a completely unauthorized payment which I tried to prevent in any way possible. this was the source of my beginning problems with them, and they twist the information when they state that it was because I requested a refund , and try to imply that I attempted to not pay them their processing fee.

my issue was not that there was a processing fee due, but that I was not authorizing that they take the money from my account automatically. rather I would have, had they not been this way, have paid them their processing fee at a time and method of my choosing, and in a way that did not incur an over draft fee, obviously. previously to this I was under the impression that they were not able or authorized in any way to take money from my [redacted] account without authorization, so my issue is that they went and did so anyway, causing me to have to incur a 35 dollars fee without warning...and previously having set it to not charge my card. they simply obscure the information and make it very difficult for you to figure this out, intentionally making it impossible to opt out of automatic payments, CONTRARY TO THEIR STATEMENT HERE at Revdex.com.

futhermore I had my settings in a certain way, which appeared to opt out of [redacted] charges. I was under the impression, because of their misleading way of making it seem different, that I would not be charged via [redacted] and would have the fees taken out of my earnings.

I had it set to not charge my card (which you have to hunt for and deliberately set, the default is automatic

payment), and then went to [redacted] and removed them from this hard to find tricky spot, of "preapproved automatic payments" on [redacted]. I had to go through all of [redacted]s pages for my account to find it, but I did and then I removed them, thereby not authorizing them to charge my card without approval.

this was some weeks before they charged my card without authorization, and gave me the impression, by their omissions and misrepresenting, that my earnings would be used to pay the processing fee, and that I had NOT authorized any kind of automatic payment.

then somehow they got into my [redacted] account and set it back, adding their name again, even though I had

deliberately removed them, as well as having set the fanbox settings to not charge my card automatically. they went and charged my card anyway, with their name somehow added to my [redacted] account as a preapproved

payment even after I deliberately deleted it.

now after this , when I complained, is when they said they were confiscating my money, and that they had a right to do so per their (illegal and fraudulent) policies. I had supposedly earned about a hundred and fifty dollars, though their weird funny money thing (which I also didnt sign up for, it was on when I first signed up automatically not by my choice- this should be changed and made clearer). and they said for sure they wouldnt charge my card anymore, but now my account was "unprotected" and they warned me to "protect my account" by allowing them access to automatic payments, which of course I did not want.

even after all this they then tried to charge my card AGAIN! I got an email saying that my card was about to be charged

AGAIN, even after their assurances it would not be. when I went there and looked at the settings they had automatically set it to be "protected" which means they had re set the settings up to take more money from my bank account. they werent successful though because I had changed all my passwords and told [redacted] I did not want any preapproved payments made to anyone. but they did try, and hacked my account and changed the settings. I have a serious problem with this, even if it did not work because of my dilengence to protect my [redacted] account, but I am guessing that many, hundreds and hundreds of people, have had this same experience...with them grabbing unauthorized payments, and then forcing the person to have to write fourty plus letters in vain trying to fix it. I want this to stop, for other people, as this is all very unethical.

as you can see it is not correct what they write in their review on your site, they do not allow people to easily opt out of automatic payments, and even after I did everything humanly possibl;e on my end to prevent them from doing so, they just hacked my account and tried to do so AGAIN! though they like to present it this way to the general public and to the new people, it is a lie. I thought I could in fact opt out and thought I had it set to never charge my card without authorizations

but they hacked my account several times to force the automatic payments. this cost me 35 dollars in an over draft fee.

had they allowed me to pay the fee in a time and way of my choosing, it wouldve had all been different. but after this my earnings started being drained, first slowly, changing every time I looked at them, my settings were changed without authorization, and it seemed they were giving me no choice in the matter. then they tried to claim that I had requested my earnings be confiscated, by twisting up what was really going on, that I objected to theft from my [redacted] account and being charged fees for over drawing my bank account.

then in backwards speak, they claimed repeatedly, that I had REQUESTED a cancellation of the fee, therefore forfieting any earnings, which was never said up front from the begining. I did not in any way ever request that my earnings be forfeit, due to this unethical and unfair policy. I did not even deny that at that time I owed them the processing fee, only I was objecting to them taking UNAUTHORIZED payments out of my account, and then telling me I had no choice. it was either allow them to do whatever they wanted and charge my card whenever it pleased them without authorization, or supposedly "forfeit" my earnings. this is completely unfair and unethical, as well as not something which is made clear from the begining. I would wish, for the other frustrated users of their corrupt system that this be stopped.

and for it to be made clear what my issue was, that I asked [redacted] to not pay the unauthorized fee, as everyone should have the right to do when a payment is made that is unauthorized.. this should not have negative consequences to the person who has been victimized in such a way. I did not request anything of them, other than they never take unauthorized payments, and this did not equate to their manipulative way of claiming I requested my earnings be cancelled. I deliberately said, in my letter immediately after this, that I did not request anything which would remove my earnings. [redacted] found in my favor and removed the charge, I did not request anything from fanbox that should have made it justifiably as they claim, to not pay me for what I sold in their site, with the understanding I was to be paid for those sales.

Review: I went through their 'verification process' which required to give them such information as phone number, bank account, etc. Immediately after this process I started receiving phone calls from several different numbers, so much so that I had to turn my phone off in order to keep from draining the battery completely! I don't know what their privacy practices are but this is beyond ridiculous. I have 12 on my phone now and I turned the phone off at 2pm EST. I have 1st and 9:13am, 2nd 9:40am, 3rd 10:33am, 4th 10:41am, 5th 10:42am, 6th 10:59am, 7th 11:12am and it continued in the same manner until my phone was almost dead and I was forced to turn it off and 2PM. Each and every call comes with a separate number. This makes me concerned now that they ALSO have my bank information. I have deleted my account in hopes that it would stop, and of course it DID NOT!!!Desired Settlement: So far they have 2 charges (not cleared yet) on my bank account in the amount of $14.41 and $.01. I don't really care about a penny but I do expect a refund of the $14.41 (if they don't retract their request of debit) and I want ABSOLUTELY all of my information removed from their system. I have already deleted my account in hopes of my phone would stop going CRAZY and of course that did not happen even though I gave my excuse of closing my account upon deletion!

We appreciate you taking the time to communicate that there are ways we can optimize our product. We appreciate all of our customers and are always seeking to improve. You have deleted your account. You will no longer be charged. The $0.01 is a verification charge that is returned to your account immediately. The other charge will be refunded to you within 2 – 4 business days. We are not sure why you are receiving those phone calls. FanBox does not perform any outbound calls. We recommend you research those numbers to find out the real source of those phone calls. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Review: I had begun getting fanbox emails a couple of months ago and ignored them, then opened one and apparently just opening it made me a member. I sent a response to tell them I wanted this canceled and did not remember ever signing up for it. They continue to send emails and bill me for services I never asked nor signed up for. I have emailed them numerous times and told them the last time they sent a notice I would be contacting you. They have ignored all my emails and continue to send notices for billing.Desired Settlement: cancel what they have billed me and stop the emails

Someone with access to your email created an

account with FanBox on 2/15/2011. Your account is using or has used IPL funds

to generate earnings. You received a bill because your IPL Processing Fee was

due. Here’s a short video that should help you understand IPL:

Your account has been deleted. We have

immediately unsubscribed your e-mail from all of our mailing lists. You

will no longer receive e-mails from FanBox or any of our users, but please

Review: Back in late 2011 I had an interview with this company, after the interview I liked what I had heard about the site and wanted to play with it some and put $50 in and figured I would test out a few things while I made my decision. Shortly after I realized this was a pyramid scheme and decided I did not want to participate so I turned off all of my reoccurring "boosts" declined the position and left the site alone for 6 months so that my money could "mature", the next time I logged in however they had opened an IPL account in my name with a credit line of about $2000 and used 1/2 of it. I had them shut it down immediately and at that time told them to take the money off my account and to give me my $50 back. They told me that they would turn off the IPL and I figured that given I had only lost about $5 in fees to IPL that I could deal with that and left the account alone again to let things mature. For a while everything was fine I stopped getting emails. However life got busy and I did not remember about the site, until they started my IPL account up again I received an email saying I have made $X and it lead to me logging in again. I have now been hit with so many fees that I now owe money and they are demanding that I pay them the fees. At no time however did I ever sign any documentation agreeing to take out a loan with them nor did I ever indicate I wanted to participate in their IPL system.Desired Settlement: I want a full return of my original investment, removal of any hits against my credit report, and the halt of the IPL system until customers sign the proper legal documentation that properly details what the customer is getting, the expectations of both sides, the exact APR and fees that will be included.

Our records show you opened a FanBox account in August of 2012. Ad

credits were granted to your account. Everyone has the option to either accept

or decline the ad credits. Your account shows they were accepted and activated,

thus, generating the processing fees.

Your IPL account has been terminated; therefore, you will not be

billed with any processing fees. All IPL processing fees you have received have

been canceled.

Our records show you made a payment of $4.35 towards IPL fees on

November 23, 2012. This payment has been refunded to your PayPal account on December

30, 2014.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I did not receive the full funds they said that they would return, and I did not receive the initial mony I put onto my account.

Hello,

Review: Suddenly started receiving emails on dept owing to FanBox despite I have never conducted any business with them, even never heard of it.

The company has never contacted me by any other means than the email.

The way FanBox acts makes me very nervous and concerned and I think it is a dishonest way of making a profit.Desired Settlement: A reply from the company stating that I do not owe anything and then stop emailing me.
