Freedom Pop Reviews (199)

I mistakenly did not look at the reviews for this service before ordering a SIM card for international useI paid the $for the SIM card and tried to use it in (4) different UNLOCKED phonesThe horrible support was not able to make it work in any of the phones I tried
Because I had only signed up for the FREE service, I figured nothing else was necessary on my partWRONGTwo months later I was charged $on two days in a rowFor a total of over $I called the sales number (because it is the only number that anyone will EVER answer the phone) and asked to be transferred to billing
After over minutes I was transferred and the woman was able to refund the two charges (still took days to receive the refunds)I also had her cancel the service and received the confirmation email on August 17th
Again on November 28th and 29th I was charged $each day (over three months after canceling the service)
I again called in and demanded that the refunds be made to my credit card immediatelyThe billing agent explained that only $could be refunded because the remainder was TAXESI stated that was not acceptable to me and that unless the full amount was refunded, I would be contacting the California Attorney Generals office and filing a complaint as well as leaving negative reviews on all the sites I could find
She found some way to issue the refunds (three separate refunds, (2) for $and a third for $3.62)
Two days later the refunds are not present in my account (although I did receive three emails from FreedomPop stating that the refunds had been made)
I also asked the woman to verify the service had been cancelled and the account closed and she stated it HAD NOT BEEN (even though I received the confirmation email in August...) I had her cancel ALL service and the account and confirm with me that there was no way I would ever be charged again
Quite simply, this was A BIG HASTLE for something that never worked anyway!

I signed up with Freedompop because of their claim of affordable access to the internetI signed up for particular package and almost everymonth this company claimed I went over and charged my card ridiculous amounts even though I was not able to use their service when my data usage came close to my alloted amountIt's always a struggle to get your money and every time you call you will be given various excuses why your card was chargeWhen called on their nonsense they will claim your went over and must be charge even though you can't use their serviceDishonest Company!

This company are SCAMMERS I honestly never left a review on Revdex.com ever however this company has me leaving one for the first timeI ordered it wanting wifi and could not get any service which is fineI canceled my account on the website and still charged the next month's feeI called telling them after waiting mins on hold finally got hold of costumer service who barley spoke EnglishLots of talking in the background where I had to repeat my information multiple timesShe did not cancel my account would only downgrade it to the free one after stating although I cancelled my account it was not cancelled completelyWas on hold for another mins while she downgraded my accountAnd now we shall see if it is going to charge me like others have hadDefinitely SCAMMERS as a cancel button is online they even state while you are on hold that you have full control online however when you cancel it does not cancel completelyThey continue charging you and then only downgrade your account and do not refund the money you paid after you canceled but still chargedHonestly how could you charge if I canceled my account do not have access to it because there is no longer an account to log into

It's worked well for me

STAY AWAY!!! Cancel your service or take your time, money to honest companies!
There is not any weekend support and no evening call support, only am-pmThis is cell phone business,,,,HELLO?? People need to depend on their phone serviceIdiotic practice, that is the first RED flag
The agreement say, no questions askedfor any reasonI was charged for a cell phone @ $and services, I guess@ $15.24, I was refunded $7.99...that is how they make their incomeSTEAL it from honest customersI asked for billing or explanation....I received canned responses in the form of emailGreat customer service company tactics
The warranty says I can cancel or return the items within daysThe 1st repwas nasty, rude and insulting to me on phoneMark continued to tell me "NO, No, NoYou cannot do that You read the information wrong" I asked to talk to a supervisor,"NO, you cannot talk to the manager they will tell you the same thing"WoW!! 2nd rep, Lori, was polite, clear and helpfulI was able to return the phone and cancel the service I canceled my account finally
Now, I don't care who you are or what your company is...if you lie to get people's money KARMA will come for you, I hope you get what you deserveI am writing a letter to the head guys, yet I know it may do little goodThis is the worst, lousy customer service I have ever experiencedPlus stealing from honest customers, with shaddy liesI am sorry I ever thought this was a good thing It's not!!!!

Response to enrollment for FREE internet service: EXCELLENT
Device shipped IMMEDIATELY and received EXPEDITIOUSLY
UNCONNECTED Device plugged to CHARGE battery showed MB used data rapidly rising to 112.4MB used data!!!!!
Connection to FreedomPop on Home WiFi shows MB used data!!!!!!
There is no way to CONTACT FreedomPop on-line for explanation Therefore, I am compelled to NOT USE their FREE SERVICE because they want $payment to turn automatic topping of the account balance (a way to charge customers without explaining why any DATA should be used up before the device is even connected for use??????

Unethical businessOrdered a $product that was supposed to come with free service for life, turns out it was phased out in a year, no longer able to receive serviceSo I either have to buy a new one, or just quit using themWorse than that, they charged a monthly fee for NOT using their internet, which feels unethical on it's own, but couple that with the fact that they phased out my product and still were charging me monthly because I wasn't using a product that I literally COULD NOT use, highly unethicalI feel like I should sue this business just on principle, this has been one of the most unethical companies I have dealt with

Hello there,
I am ***, I have been using Freedompop products for quite a chunk of time nowI am a Freedompop expert user though DirectlyThe business is set up to give users a cheaper solution to phone services
Do I recommend it?
It depends if you are a user who is able *** things quickly and if you have strong Sprint networking in your area
It comes to the main point, though, if you need something that just works, that you don't need to play withYou get what you are willing to pay for

Slowboat to chinaSer person failed to answer the pertinent Q's and seemed more interested in blocking my enquiry than providing good serviceI get this A WHOLE LOT WHEN THE CUSTSER IS NOT USA OR AMATEUR STYLE SERVICE

Opened a freedom pop account by purchasing SIM for $0.99...immediately cancelled paid service for FREE (Basic) service...my f/p online account clearly states I have the FREE service, however I was charged twice for the SIM also a $and a $charge appeared on my card statement, which I disputed Check your statements carefully if you do business with Freedom Pop...more likely than not they are aware of these ERRORS at the time of their creation
Good Luck

Website is a mazeData plans are a difficult to changeExtra charges are added on without any confermationCustomer service is poor

I have been a Freedom Pop customer for almost two years now, and the experience has been mixedI'm not sure whether the problems with Freedom Pop phone service is true of all internet phone services, but at home using the free WIFI-based service, the calls don't seem to come through 100% of the timeAway from home, the "Premium Voice" option ($3.99/month) is essential for decent serviceAll of this is okay with me, because the calls I get usually aren't urgentCalling out has never been a problemI wouldn't try to run a business using Freedom Pop phone serviceText service has improved immensely over the last yearVoicemail has had problems recently, but that seemed to get fixed within a few days
I don't think this is an ill-intentioned company, but they've had some major growing pains in the pastThey've tried to get by using FAQ's and customer forums to solve issues instead of responsive (in real time) customer serviceWhen I first set up my service {almost two years ago) the process was complex and frustrating, with very little live assistance availableHopefully, this has improved In the past I've had to wait days or even weeks for a response to a problem, but lately this too, has improvedOnce (on a Sunday evening) I actually heard back within minutes!
Overall, service and reliability is not what you'd expect from a major carrier (maybe 80-90%), but neither are the bills! With some extra services, I get voice, text, and data sufficient for my needs for less than $per month! For me, it's a bargain worth an occasional glitch

Good service

My experience with FreedomPop has been consistently bad and fully consistent with the many other negative reviews here on the Revdex.com website and also on Yelp I recommend that you avoid any dealings with FreedomPop
I started with FreedomPop in November I understood then that the Freedom Spot 4G/3G MiFi device utilized Sprint's WiMax for its 4G service and thus its 4G lifetime would be limited In early 2015, I upgraded my account to include the $per month "3G fallback" feature Big mistake
My Freedom Spot 4G/3G MiFi device provided intermittent and unreliable connectivity up to the sunset of WiMax in late when it provided no service at all After multiple interactions with FreedomPop support and much effort on my part, I concluded that even though I had been paying for the 3G fallback feature, it had never worked
I expended significant effort attempting to get the 3G connectivity working FreedomPop technical support asked me to jump through various hoops update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL) and the profile All attempts dozens of attempts failed Finally, one of the technical support representatives was a bit more candid than the rest and confirmed that I was never going to get a 3G connection from that device My only alternative was an expensive upgrade to the new generation LTE hardware
I responded by downgrading back to the "free" plan At the conclusion of that process, the web page offered an opportunity to "roll-over" my unused data Nowhere did it say that there would be a charge for taking advantage of this offer Hah! What a sucker I am My card was charged immediately I opened up an inquiry with FreedomPop customer service After roughly two weeks of no response from FreedomPop, I opened a dispute with the credit card folks A couple days after that, FreedomPop customer service acknowledged my original inquiry and processed a refund of the original charge
I thought that we were all finally on the same page and that would be the end of the matter Wrong ! A few days later, FreedomPop closed my account Whoa! That was a surprise It turns out that this action is FreedomPop's standard procedure when a customer disputes charges via their credit card company They said that I should have contacted them first
I appealed to the next level That was a waste of effort It is obvious that the supervisor did not even read the part of my message where I pointed out that I did contact them first
In any case, I am happy with the outcome I am no longer a FreedomPop customer That is the way that it should have been from the beginning

The phone and service worked for about two weeks and then stopped Customer service was useless and kept insisting device was operating properly You can only cancel your service by calling them though their website makes it look like you can do this online so ended up paying an extra month for nothingThere is a pattern here that is undeniable if you look at other reviews here and elsewhere online

Been using the service for a week nowThe hotspot device works excellentI'm in a rural area and I get one siglal bar but very good fast connectionThe coverage map says I get 3g but I actually get LTEThere was a glitch in orderingI ordered one but but three got orderedI has no problem getting it straitened outSo far very good

I read a lot of negative reviews and was afraid that I was getting scammed So far that has not been the caseI have received good to excellent devices and service At this point I am happy being a FreedomPop customer

FreedomPop offers a really unique mix of services for less money I also bought two smartphones from them for very little moneyThe phones were not easy to set up, and I had problems from the start getting the phones to work as advertises I appealed to them for help via email, and they replied hours later The fix they suggested did work, but the instructions for implementing were vagueI did figure it out, and the phone is working I'm having a problem with the second phone now, and waiting for help via email I do believe when both phones are working correctly the service will be fine, and a bargaintime will tell

I'm glad I found you again

Services is not that bad
