They lie about about everything. The optimus phone I have is refurbished and is always malfunctioning. People constantly complain about the static and echoing. And I feel bad and aggravated that I have to keep calling people back to apologize that I'm waiting for a f pop tech to email me about the hanging up issue. The phone signal service is prob just that bad and they are lieing to me and running me back and forth to McDonald's saying I have to reset it.don't get this service.you'll want to kick their but for kinda scaming you about everything and hangs up all the time.I'm not sure its worth the [redacted] unless u have time on your hands to be calling these liars and waiting 45 min at a time for lies. I've determined that they are stringing me along and none of these issues can be fixed its just a horrible phone and service that just stays broken that's the catch. Many many lost hours and trips over a freaking 10$ savings. Savings end up being a loss and a pain and suffering experience
I would consider this one of the most deceitful companies in California. I purchased a phone from [redacted] after I reviewed the advertisements and the coverage map, which showed excellent service near my home at zip XXXXX. When I tried to activate the phone I had no luck until I drove over 100 miles east of my home, to [redacted] The phone worked there, so I activated the device. I was not ever able to get a connection at zip XXXXX, even though the map showed great coverage. I called support and after long holds with frequent disconnections, I was told the tower was 10 miles from my home, and I had a great signal, and I should be able to get good Internet and phone service. I tried for a few days, called back, Email multiple ties, eventually found a web site that shows actual [redacted] cell towers and the closest to me was 100 miles away. Only after arguing with the tech support team was I able to convince them that there was indeed no service! To this day the coverage map says coverage is great in zip XXXXX. I suspect the map can be updated in seconds, but then the deceitful sales tactics would end. Do not buy or use any services from these people, they seem to enjoy lying.
Free cell phone service sounds too good to be true. Turns out, it is.
While one would not expect too much in the way of personal service from a company that offers their base service at no charge, FreedomPop's customer service situation is downright deplorable.
It's easy to sign up (and easy to accidentally sign up for extras that you didn't want), but when it comes to downgrading or cancelling your service, there is no route to follow. Connecting to their customer service, via any method, for any reason, is next to impossible. Meanwhile they continue to charge your credit card monthly.
Avoid this scam at all costs.
I really love freedom pop
Excellent product/service. Phone service is sometimes sketchy, but the data connection is rock solid, so you can use [redacted] voice or similar. Free roaming service in Western Europe is an outstanding bonus. Online service through the website is excellent. Although there is little customer support by phone, service received by email is excellent.
MIXED REVIEW: Parts of FreedomPop service are terrible and parts are awesome. The terrible is that you have to use an app to make and receive calls and it takes forever for anything to pop up when someone calls so you often miss the call trying to find the answer button and you have to call them back. The awesome part is that this service works off of cellular data or wifi so you get calls in places you have no 3G or 4G signal, that is great. Customer service is email and next day. They do not misrepresent themselves in anyway, the billing is honest and the service can be great or not so good but if money is a serious issue for you then this is definitely the way to go.
This is a good Company as far as I know. I have not had any problems with them. The services I selected was the service I got.
I ordered one of their phones and it has been very good. It works well and is nice. I was able to get it at a very good price.
Customer feedback is difficult over the internet. The web pages seem to be dedicated to making you offers and once you accept one and is registered, you have access to a lot of features.
Calling them on the phone gets you a very nice Customer Representative and they are very good at answering your questions and doing things for you. This is very good for a Company that offers free service to you without you being on some Government program.
FreedomPop, once you have disabled the free trial and auto top-up, is truly free, and that is what makes me happy. I have never had to call them, except once, and that was to disable the free trial of the premium services. My call was picked up within the first five minutes. Overall, FreedomPop has a really good business model, and I hope they can continue to do business with people. (I just wish they had a more visually appealing website)
I am thankful to Freedompop for offering a free basic service, I am in need for it now after loosing my job. Quality of calls is not as of [redacted] but still acceptable and I am glad I have it. Had some issues and they fixed. Purchased my phone from them, [redacted], and it was like new condition and works fine after Massaging apps update.
FreedomPop has been a very good company to do business with. Whenever we have had troubles, we have been able to get the issue resolved within 48 hours. Considering everything is done via email, forums &[redacted], I think that's great. We now use FreedomPop exclusively for our phones as a family. Phone & text service in our area is great (metro Detroit). Our kids enjoy having a data plan. I like that I can monitor usage.
dealing with FreedomPop has been one of the worst consumer experiences of my life! I bought a phone from them the end of February. It never worked well since people I called could not hear me - my voice was garbled. I spent hours on the phone with FreedomPop customer service and they finally agreed to replace that phone with another one since they could not fix it. I got the replacement phone and when I tried to make a call was told "There is an existing issue with your account. Please contact customer service" which I did last night. I wasted more hours and spoke to THREE different people there and was told the problem was finally resolved. Today again, no one could understand me. Then I began receiving the SAME message as last night that "there is an existing issue with your account...". I again called FreedomPop and requested to speak to a Supervisor and hung on about an hour but NO supervisor. The FreedomPop rep told me the supervisor would call me back ALMOST 2 HOURS AGO and it is almost midnight and NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK!! It appears that FreedomPop does not care at all about their customers and I am stuck with a phone that I paid over $200 for that does not work! And I get NO help from them!!
How can they be allowed to stay in business? I do not know where to turn now for help/
I love freedom pop
Called in with problem / question and it was resolved
have had the service for several months and am happy with the service. coverage seems to be adequate for my location. haven't traveled out of Michigan yet, but may do so in the winter ahead.
Terrible phone! Takes 45 minutes on hold to reach customer service. Could not get phone to work after hours & days with tech support. They said they would e-mail me return label that was 4 days ago, still no label!
My experience so far with this company and the products and services provided has been positive. I have interacted with customer service via email, and was pleasantly surprised and pleased.
Provided that one understands the limitations of the VOIP services, there should not be any complaints regarding such.
Poor business ethics, poor customer service, poor product. Still trying to receive a refund for a phone I returned that they received 3 weeks ago. I returned the phone because it would not charge, had sim card issues and arrived with the some nasty adhesive all over the back where it had been a display model in some store somewhere. Called to allow them to make it right and was told I would be contacted the next day. After nine days of not hearing from them, I called them again to get the information needed to return the phone. That was three weeks ago. I called them the final time today and was told to wait another 2 weeks for them to check the phone. Have now contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges. BEWARE. NOT A REPUTABLE OR RELIABLE BUSINESS
I have had nothing but good experiences with Freedom Pop in the more than a year
that I have been a subscriber. The only problems I had were operator error and an email to customer service fixed it fast. I used both the phone and the hotspot.
Positive now have two lines that work for my purposes
Great Phone and Customer Service.
