I had a badly clogged kitchen drainThe tech Andy Vtried to unclog it a few times with the snake but it still wouldn't clearHe advised me that he had a different type snake on the truck but it would require an additional chargeHe didn't pressure us to have it done but left the decision up to usWe decided to give it a try and am glad I did, the different snake worked like a charmI'm very pleased with the service I received from Gold Medal and especially the tech Andy VThank you for a job well done
I have directed our Service Teal Leader to contact this valued customer immediately to resolve and open issues We have already been back to her home to make certain adjustments/repairs, but will she what more can be done to satisfy her

We had a very nice experience with Gold metal, we have a very old home and every update is usually a problem Gold metal employees Joe and Juan were very professional and patientThey were non stop working and cleaned up daily before they leftWe had the whole house re wired and up to codeVery pleased
The complaint is misplaced Gold Medal did not perform any substantive work on the toilet The charge of $is for work performed on the kitchen sink Below is a copy of the customer service notes on this instance from the customer calling in yesterday with a complaint Tech SR01went out a 2nd time to this customerThe first time (running toilet), SRreplaced a clip in the toilet as a courtesy (after custmers’s handyman already replace parts in the toilet)A week later, SRgoes back out for the same toilet runningDid a dye test to check for any leaks, none found, so he left options to replace the parts in the toilet with our stock partsCustomer declined that option, but asked SRto replace a filter under his kitchen sinkUpon investigation, SRsaw the valve needed to be replacedGave options for that, customer signed the pre-authorization, and had him do the work under the sink (replace valve and change customer supplied filter)Nothing wrong with paperwork and from what I could tell, SRdid nothing wrong here---- So, what we have here is an incompetent job performed by the customer's handyman who is now trying to blame Gold Medal for the issues caused by the handyman We also have a customer who pre-authorized work in the amount of $and now is disputing the work He has also filed a dispute with [redacted] for the amount of the charge Gold Medal will contest the dispute and seek full payment There is no validity to his complaint There is no issue with the work performed In fact, we went there twice and performed free courtesy work Gold Medal deserves to be paid for the work performed and will seek to enforce the agreement signed by the customer Thank you

My apologies if I misspoke, not french drain, but storm drain. In any event, it is work that Gold Medal does not perform. We have informed her of this and even went to her home to confirm the extent of the work is not what we usually do. At this point, we have no more to offer her on this issue. Thank you.

David I, has been to my house on several service visits David is always thorough, kind and extremely helpfulDavid explains any issues regarding the service call clearly and walks you step by step through the process of solving the issues I would highly recommend Gold Medal service and David I as I truly respect and feel comfortable with any recommendations regarding the service needed for my home
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The situation describe was not accurate I never slammed the door in anyone's face nor did I hang up on the Directors I never mentioned a french drain and do not even know what this is I did not call back after hours and get an answering service I called back after I a picture of a Gold Medal employee clearing out the pipe that I wanted cleared When I called back the person said they absolutely did that and did not know why the person said they did not An appointment was made and no one showed up All I asked was for one of the two owners to call me back so I could let them know what happened It is obvious to me that they did not want to do the job and if that was the case they should not have made an appointment or at least called to cancel it That never happened Also, I believe they are hiding this from the owners of the company or else a phone call would have taken place Regards, [redacted]
I have spent multiple days and multiple hours in phone calls, on hold, and waiting for missed appointments with this companyANY time you call them, you are guaranteed to be immediately placed on hold, never to speak to a human being for a minimum of 5-minutesI have been on hold, without any human interaction for minutesI have had appointments set up, confirmed, and then cancelled the following dayI have then rescheduled an appointment, had it confirmed, then again, moved to a different time, and then ultimately cancelledI cannot understand at all how ANY business can exist like thisI can not speak to their level of service, because frankly, my time is too valuable to waste on these unprofessional, inconsiderate individuals any furtherDo yourself a favor, and read the reviews - the reviews here alone are nearly 50% negativeThat should serve as a warning to STAY AWAY from "Gold Medal Service" Frankly, their "gold" is far more like tarnished brass

system which is suppose to be the best is very substandard during the winterWhen I need the system the work the greatest, when the temperature gets
below degrees it is extremely cold in my house I have been using the
stove and a heater to heat my home in December, January, February, and sometimes March The thermostat never gets above and it is ridiculously
cold A service technician came out once and said the heat pump was basically designed that way I remember saying to him why would a system
be designed that way It is during the winter that you want your system to work at its bestI am very disappointed I have been on a plan paying a month
for years During the summer the central air works fine, however, I can barely keep company in my house during the winter and it is very embarassing

I was having a problem with my Breaker popping whenever I put on the kitchen lightsAfter speaking with a technician he told me it would cost $to diagnose the problemYes thats right $to diagnose a popping circuit breakerAfter almost having a Heart Attack I advised the technician that is ludicrousI advised him that I believed it may be a faulty dimmer switchHe told me that the problem would have to be diagnosed and it would cost $I said that is RIDICULOUS and I was being ripped off! Needless to say I went to Home Depot Bought a new switch for Cents and replaced the dimmerPROBLEM SOLVED! A cent fix for $I know its hard to believe but yes $

I am rejecting this response because:
When I called for an estimate the operator told me that their trucks are "fully equipped and stocked" to handle the problem of a leaky hose bibI was told that it would cost for the estimate and that if I chose to have the work done then that would be deducted from the total bill
The problem was a dripping hose bib when the valve was turned on and it had a simple solutionAll hose bibs have a packing nut behind the handle and over time this can loosen upAll that was needed was to put a pair of pliers or a wrench on the nut and tighten it My neighbor later fixed this for me in about secondsBut instead of doing this simple second fix, or even just trying to, the Gold Medal repairman said that the valve needed to be replaced

Note: This $price does NOT include repairing the wallboard, just cutting a holeBut then in order to replace the valve he was going to have to shut off the waterThere is a main water shut off, which I assured has been used several times recently and has always worked okayAnd in addition to the main shut off there is another shut off valve, less than years old, that was installed when the house was renovated in But he insisted that the main shut off valve must be replaced:
Replace main shut off valve: $1,While this serviceman was showing me the main valve he pointed to the pressure regulator valve for the house and explained its functionSo I asked, "You mean you could increase the pressure and volume by adjusting this valve?" He said it would only affect the pressure, not volumeYet he included that replacement as the very FIRST item in his price:
Replace pressure regulator valve: $The total of these items, which he said were necessary, is $3,The serviceman NEVER turned on the water. The service man NEVER bothered to suggest that the packing nut might just need tighteningAll this guy did was keep writing about all the things I "needed" to get done to stop the simple leakAnd...if I bought an annual service contract he could deduct 15% off the $3,price for this "investment."
These people are dishonest and the public, the consumer affairs department and New Jersey licensing authorities need to investigate their fraudulent actionsI also plan to contact Costco, who originally endorsed them for work in my home, to find out if Gold Medal is still working with them and if so to let them know of my experiences with them
