We first went out this customer's home because her only toilet in the home was clogged.  She called in for our $93 drain cleaning special.  Initial visit found blockage with heavy sludge and likely roots.  We provide a gratuitous main line camera inspection with the $93 drain...

cleaning when warranted. We have pictures of some of the roots pulled out from the initial drain cleaning.  we then sent a second technician out with a sewer camera.  The camera inspection showed a blockage further out in the line as well as the intrusion of roots.  As a result, we sent out sewer replacement specialist to provide options for replacement.  We have a flat rate price book that is used to provide estimates for all work.  Prices are not made up Ad Hoc or by time and material. We bear the risk of the job being more difficult or complex than originally thought. 
Our sewer replacement specialist provided a quote for a the needed repair.  That cost is based upon our cost to provide the level of service that we do - 24/7/365, a lifetime guarantee, highest quality workmanship, all permits, etc.  we have nearly 100 trucks on the road if service is ever needed.  We provided service to this customer on three separate occasions to serve them 100% to the fullest - all for $93.  While the son of this customer can come in after the fact and say that another company only wanted to charge "X", we cannot judge the accuracy of such statement.  Do they provide the same level of quality serve that Gold Medal does, do they provide its employees a safe productive environment, perform permitted work so that their work is inspected and deemed safe? Provide health benefits and such to their workers? Provide a lifetime warranty? Provide emergency service 24/7/365? Was this an "arms-length transaction?"  i would expect that the son of this customer will say yes to all of the above since he filed the complaint, despite really knowing much about the other company.  Gold Medal sets its prices based on the cost of its business and what it takes to continue to provide the level of service it does to its customers and employees.  we do not claim to be the cheapest, nor or we the most expensive.  But we strive to provide WOW service and conducts ourselves with the highest level of integrity possible.  Thank you.

should call for details.  There are some situations where there may be additional costs. In the present situation, before charging additional monies over the $93, the situation was explained to the Client and she agreed and signed off on the agreement.  However, in reviewing the matter, in hindsight, we believe it nest to refund the difference in the two price levels of drain clearing.We hope our valued Client remains satisfied with our overall performance.Thank you.

This customer has been contact numerous times.  The complaint is as it is, is out of date.  We made two visits there to correct the issue.  The underlying work performed was not the issue.  During our initial visit we suggested that the customer consider a one day bathroom...

solution which would have resolved all issues.  At that time she declined and only wanted what we advised would be a temporary solution given the age of the other components.  We made a second visit to make additional adjustments but informed her the one additional component should be placed, but was a rather expensive labor intensive part.  We also spoke with the customer's brother several times since and before the initial complaint was filed.  He had asked for a refund, but not the customer.  We eventually agreed on a 50% refund, but then when he was informed that he would need to advise the Revdex.com of the resolution, he demanded a full refund. A full refund is not justified in this situation.  In fact, the customer, with the brother's input, took Gold Medal's advice and had a one day bathroom solution installed, but through another company.  The offer of a 50% refund still stands.  Thank you

Just want to record very unprofessional behavior of your service. I was scheduled for 9-12 slot today Nov 6th 2016. I clearly told at the time of scheduling that I need to leave at 12pm and scheduling call me at 11:30 that service person will be there at 12pm. Basically ruin all my day. I could do other things. You even don’t have curtesy to call back and tell that service will be late. No one tried to help me when I asked for other time slot same day. I hope someone high in management ladder can read and take action. Or maybe you guys have lot of business and don’t care an ordinary customer like me.

I am rejecting this response because:
The situation describe was not accurate.  I never slammed the door in anyone's face nor did I hang up on the Directors.  I never mentioned a french drain and do not even know what this is.  I did not call back after hours and get an answering service.  I called back after I a picture of a Gold Medal employee clearing out the pipe that I wanted cleared.  When I called back the person said they absolutely did that and did not know why the person said they did not.  An appointment was made and no one showed up.  All I asked was for one of the two owners to call me back so I could let them know what happened.  It is obvious to me that they did not want to do the job and if that was the case they should not have made an appointment or at least called to cancel it.  That never happened.  Also, I believe they are hiding this from the owners of the company or else a phone call would have taken place.

[redacted] came out to check our furnace. They told us the fire ring damper needed to be replaced and they did not do that type of work but the furnace was in great shape. We called Gold Medal for service and they came out and wanted $1500 to fix th damper and told us the furnace must be replaced and putting off Carbon Monoxide and shut off the furnace. We called [redacted] out and the fixed the problem for $240 and said the furnace was fine. What a rip off. We don't want to see Gold Medal again and just want future customers to know what they are dealing with.

On 8/22/15 I has Gold Medal Services to my home to check repair my heating/air conditioning thermostat. I wasn't sure if it was broke or if I inadvertently shut it down somehow (since I have never had this type of thermostat). The repairman came out and checked, reset the thermostat and tell me to only adjust the temperature by using the "up and down" arrows only' ; then proceeded to write up the bill and an estimate for a "service program". This must be what is the priority for Gold Medal Services. I was charged $122.09 for this and not allowed to use a coupon that I had received in the mail...being told that the $69.00 service call was only good if I had the maintenance service.. didn't see that anywhere on the coupon, I paid the bill, the repairman left. I think disappointed that I did not get the maintenance plan.
On Saturday 8/27, the thermostat stopped working again. I called God Medal, and was asked if I checked the battery. I told the person on the phone that I didn't know the thermostat had batteries and that the repairman NEVER CHECKED BATTERIES OR MENTIONED BATTERIES TO ME!!. I was told the repairman would be out on Sunday the 28th. and that I would not be charged for any service...that was not true...I was charged another $73.83 The same repairman came out and once again made it his priority to sell me a "maintenance plan". He set the thermostat again. I mentioned the batteries and he took the cover off, and I SUPPLIED HIM WITH 2 NEW AA BATTERIES which he put in. He then promoted the maintenance plan, I declined again, paid the $73.83 bill, he lefr.. It has been about 2 weeks and he thermostat is still working perfectly!!!! PERHAPS THE BATTERIES SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHECKED/REPLACED ON THE FIRST VISIT!!! but didn't happen. So I can honestly state that I feel "ripped" off by this company. I cost me over $200.00 to have Gold Medal Heating and Cooling Services replace 2 AA batteries! They made out like bandits - which they are! I got ripped off...I am a senior citizen on a fixed income, I intend to file a complaint with the Revdex.com and I have already begun to tell EVERYONE I know about my experience with this company!!! whose only interest is signing folks up for a maintenance plan, which one can only wonder would be whether it would be what they claim it would be. DON'T CALL THIS COMPANY FOR ANY SERVICE!!!! REMEMBER MY STORY OF $200.00 + AA BATTERIES THAT I SUPPLIED!!!

The service person came earlier than I expected. He called 45 minutes before he arrived. He explained everything he was about to do. I was completely satisfied with the Plumbing work he did.

I am rejecting this response because:
Statement about "boulders to be used as part of landscaping" is completely out of touch with reality. For the same measure, they could leave boulders on my porch or in the kitchen and say that this is a landscaping.
They were just rushing home and not willing to clean all the mess they left.
I will mark the second boulder (which is almost on the pathway to my house and my baby already tripped over it few times - so much for "landscaping") and I will send the photo, if I will know where to send it.I attached to this message photo of the remaining stone and pile of dirt that was left.Unfortunately, I do not have neither email address nor name of the Underground Manager, so it is not clear where to send the photo.
Aside of the boulders, mound of small stones and clay was left over my property. I engaged external contractor to remove them - they estimated 6 cubic yards of this material to be removed and they were very surprised that plumbing company left all that mess after completion of work. It will cost me substantial money to remove all this dirt.

I would like to give 5 stars to Juana, Patrick and Andrew.. These employees worked in a professional manner and were able to answer all of my concerns. . Juana assessed the heating system ..system working fine. Patrick assessed electrical / hot water heater. Many electrical upgrades / hot water heater to be replaced.. Co was prepared to replace equipment the same day . appt to replace hot water heater was established for next day . First day Patrick worked in a pleasant manner , answered all questions , made rec. ..Next day Patrick went out of his way to gather electrical supplies and pick up new hot water heater. Andrew , supervisor , was also pleasant .All employees had vast knowledge of their trade. I was so impressed , Patrick expressed a desire to learn installation ffor hot water heater. . Andrew mentored him in non threatening way . They worked as a team and the new hot water heater was safely installed. . Co should be proud of these employees.. The big trucks were so impressive. . Debri was removed and area leaned up. I would call Gold Medal anytime for service.

Mr. [redacted] refund request is currently in process and has been.  The amount is $321.  The agreement is for two years with a third year free at no charge to the customer.  Therefore, his calculation is off a bit.  Mr. [redacted] should receive the check within the...

Just want to expeess how very professional and thorough John was as he serviced both my properties in Neptune and Mt Laurel. Explained things very well and followed up as promised. Your ervice usually good but John was very friendly and worthy of taking time to write about.

Initially, when this customer called in, our in-hoiuse CSR advised her that we do not work on storm drains. She called back and got the...

answering service that works after hours and as over-flow for us - she asked for her drain to be unclogged.  Not knowing that prior history and actual problem was not within our services, the answering company booked it as a drain clearing call. Our in-house csr called her back and told her we do not do that type of service - storm drains - not a domestic water or sewer drain. She than kept insisting we come and it was her French drain so we asked our Waterproofing Manager to call her and ask pertinent questions to see if see perhaps mis-characterized the initial problem.  After our waterproofing manager spoke with her, she was again told that this work was not within our purview. He told her we don’t do it. Unfortunately, this customer kept calling in refusing to accept our assessment.  so, to appease her, our Dispatch Manager sent a plumbing technician to look at the issue - no charge.  After the inspection, she was told her we cannot do what she requested do to it being a storm drain and the pipe is thin so his machine can damage it.  She slammed the door in his face. Thereafter, Mike D called her with another Director also on the phone.  The other Director is a licensed plumber.  He explained to her what everyone else already explained, but she was still upset. It is important to understand, there was no emergency or actual clog, she was looking to get preventative maintenance.  A neighbor had had it done and she thought that it was good idea.
She was offered additional compensation in good faith- but hung up the phone on the two Directors.
 At this point, there is nothing more we can do for her.  Thank you.

Would not hesitate to recommend Gold Medal to friends and family. On time and courteous. Their tech was friendly and explained what was being done every step of the way.

Gold Medal electrician was prompt, courteous, and highly competent. Graciously explained our options for the work contemplated in language we could understand. Completely the job efficiently. Could not be more pleased.

The person filing the complaint was not our customer and the address stated above was not the service address.  Gold Medal was required to make two separate service calls to the actual residence in Glen Rock, N.J. for work that could have easily been performed in one trip.  The two...

separate jobs were priced according to our flat rate price book.  We had already resolved the complaint and requested that a simple release be signed.  the delay in paying the refund (which was as a courtesy to begin with since nothing was owed) has been solely on the part of the customer to return the release.  The customer needs to sign the release.  They are also free to propose changes to the document and if the changes are not excessive, it will be accepted and the refund will be processed.

I had a badly clogged kitchen drain. The tech Andy V. tried to unclog it a few times with the snake but it still wouldn't clear. He advised me that he had a different type snake on the truck but it would require an additional charge. He didn't pressure us to have it done but left the decision up to us. We decided to give it a try and am glad I did, the different snake worked like a charm. I'm very pleased with the service I received from Gold Medal and especially the tech Andy V. Thank you for a job well done.

Initial contact has been made with this customer and we will attempt to resolve any legitimate concerns.  However, the "tenant" of the property is a property interest holder and properly authorized such work in advance of performance of such work.  Thank you

I called for expertise plumbing for my drain problem and got we cant figure out this problem and charged me $100,00 for nothing done! They said it was probably a vent issue and wanted $400.00 to use a camera on only eight feet of pipe that was easily accessable! It seemed that Gold medal was more interested in keeping the technician moving to make more money than it was to please the customer! Would never refer this company to anybody! Dont believe the recommendations on their web site!
