Guzu, Inc. Reviews (537)

Review: On 09/**/15, I submitted a request for a mailer for my iPhone 5S. It arrived on or about 09/**/15, and I returned the iPhone in the mailer (restored to factory settings/fullly charged/excellent condition). According to the tracking information from the [redacted], my phone arrived at their facility on 10/**/15. I received an email from Guzu stating that my payment of $175 would be sent to my [redacted] account in 1-3 business days. I have not received payment yet, and I have attempted email contact with them on three occasions (10/**/15, 10/**/15 and 10/**/15), inquiring as to the status of my order.

I had used them in the past (late 2013), and did receive payment, so I allowed them two full business weeks to respond. My only response has been an automated email response stating they received my email. No other contact. The phone numbers on the internet are not operational.

I want my $ or my phone back-in the same condition it left my house.Desired Settlement: I would like the $175 I was promised for my phone (or MY phone returned to me in excellent working order so I may trade it in elsewhere).

Thank you.

Review: Sent my iPad to Guzu, they responded that the unit was received and that I would be paid $80 via my [redacted] account. I've sent several e-mails to Guzu explaining that I was never paid and that I've waited over 5 weeks for payment. No response from Guzu other than an automated acknowledgement of my communication, stating that someone would get in touch with me shortly.Desired Settlement: Payment of $80.00 into my PayPay account as promised in writing by Guzu in exchange for my iPad which was received by Guzu.

Review: On September **, 2015 I sent TWO iphone 6 to Guzu. The agreed upon offer was $380 for each phone for a total of $760. I was told that once they receive the iphones and approve the condition, a check would be issued in 1-3 days. On September **, I received an email stating that the agreement was approved and I would be receiving a check for $760, which would be sent out in 1-3 days. I have not received the check as of today. October **. I have sent TWO emails to Guzu requesting a status update on my payment. I have not received a response from either email. I tried calling the phone number listed on the Revdex.com website and the response was that this number was not in service. Now having done a little more research on Guzu, it appears that I may have been scammed. This company seems to lack integrity and honesty in providing an agreed upon payment in a timely manner. And, of course, there is a complete lack of communication once they receive the "goods" and the consumer is left hanging.Desired Settlement: I would like a check that will not bounce for $760.00 for the TWO iphone 6 that Guzu received on September **. The agreed upon payment was $380.00 for each iphone 6, 64 gb with both iphones in like-new condition.

Review: Guzu promotes their business of purchasing used iphone, ipads, and other consumer electronics through daily email blasts and web marketing. I recently purchased a new phone, so I completed all the necessary steps for Guzu to purchase my used iPhone for $125.

Guzu provides a pre-printed shipping label as part of the online transaction. Once the phone was received by Guzu I received an email acknowledgement that they received my phone. Within the same day I received another email that payment was being processed. Several weeks later I received a check from Guzu for $125. I deposited the check in my bank account and a few weeks later (August *, 2015) was notified by the bank that the check had been returned for insufficient funds.

I immediately contacted Guzu on August *, 2015 to notify them of the returned check and requested that they get back to me with a plan for re-payment to cover the returned check plus the $19 that was charged by my bank. I received an auto-response that my request was received and someone would follow up. There was never any followup from Guzu. I sent more emails every day for the following 4 days for someone to contact me about the matter, and I included the order details for reference. Each day I continued to receive more promotional emails to sell electronics to Guzu. The company was obviously still open for business in terms of requesting people send in their electronics, but they are not actually paying for those electronics. They receive the property, sell the property, then keep the proceeds. Guzu is clearly a scam or they are insolvent while continuing to (effectively) acquire assets from unknowing victims. According to NY statutes (and FL where I live) this is Deceptive Practice, a misdemeanor offense.Desired Settlement: I need to receive a cashier's check for the original sale amount ($125) plus $19 that the bank charged for the [redacted] check.

Review: Guzu's service is to buy old devices (iphones, ipads, computers, etc) to repair & resell.

I have used them in the past to sell other old devices.

The procedure is that you provide details about the model and condition of your device, they offer you a quote and a [redacted] label / box to ship the product in, they confirm receipt and accuracy of your description and pay you via requested method (check, [redacted], etc). This has all happened in the past smoothly / successfully.

In June, I was selling another old model iPhone for which I followed the same steps, received a quote of $85.00 for it, sent it in using their shipping label, received an email confirming that it was received and that I should expect payment in 2-3 business days. A week passed with no payment so I followed up, I was told it would come within the next several biz days. Another week passed, I followed up again and they said payment would come within 24-48 hours. Another week passed, I followed up again and they said payment would come in 1-3 biz days. Another week passed and I contacted them to let them know to send back the device since promised payment was not coming through. Since then, I have had no response, I have left countless voicemails and emails at every # provided and getting no reply.Desired Settlement: Payment of $85.00 or return of device.

They stole my iPhone and there is nothing I can do except tell others so they don't fall in the same trap.

Review: I sent my phone over and it made it to location on the [redacted], at that point my funds should have arrived 3-5 business days later. We are now on the 7th business day and I cannot reach the company in any compacity. I spoke to their rep on Tuesday and they claimed my funds would be deposited, that didn't happen. I called again the following day, same mis-represented information.Desired Settlement: I would like my funds to be deposited in a timely matter, if I knew this was such a delayed process I would of asked for a check and not a direct deposit.

Review: I was given an offer by Guzu to purchase my iPhone 4s for $60.60 on August **, 2014. I accepted the offer and I recieved in the mail a prepaid first class envelope to send my phone to their company in [redacted]. I know the package was received by their company on 8/**/14 via the USPS tracking number assigned to it. According to the website, my phone was inspected and deemed to be in good condition and payment was issued in the form of a check on 8/**/14. I was instructed to wait 5-7 business days for the check to arrive. On the 8th business day, when my check did not arrive, I attempted to make a phone call to the company, and the first number was disconnected. I found a working number and was forwarded to a voicemail each time. I sent an email to the third party seller I went through, usell.com and never received a response wothin 24 hours as promised. This is very unprofessional behavior and perhaps theft. I just want to receive my payment of $60.60 as I was promised.Desired Settlement: I want an email from Guzu and compensation for the phone I sold them that according to the USPS was received on 8/**/14

Review: Guzu's "service" is to "recycle" used mobile devices with renumeration to the seller. We sent them two iPhone 5S devices in early October. They were assigned an order and an account number. I have an email from Guzu informing me they received them on Oct ** and another one later that day saying they accepted the items and that I would be paid $340 into my [redacted] account in 1-3 business days. After 6 business days I reached out to Guzu and received this response from Guzu support: "We are sorry for the extreme delay you have encountered with your payment. Our accounts experienced a series of fraud attempts on our accounts and had issue with our cash flow due to this unfortunate problem. We are in the process of catching up old payments, and anyone experiencing issues with a bounced check."

That was the last I heard from them in spite of repeated attempts at contact. All phone numbers have been disconnected. After I posted to their [redacted] page they messaged me for my order number but again went silent, eventually blocking me from posting (likely to my repeated posting of their Revdex.com rating and complaints).

The end result is that they have our devices, they have refused further contact, and I have not been paid.Desired Settlement: I would like my $340 or return of the devices.

Review: I sent an Iphone 5S (16GB) in to GUZU for sale and was approved for $80.00 purchase price. I have not received any payment via [redacted] as promised. The details of the purchase from GUZU are as follows:

Order Information:

Order Number: [redacted]

Account Number: [redacted]

Order Items: 1 x Apple iPhone 5s 16GB (AT&T)

Quoted Payment Amount: $80.00

Requested Payment Method: [redacted]

Payment Address: [redacted]Desired Settlement: GUZU Should complete the payment process of transferring the $80.00 to my [redacted] as promised. I am not willing to accept a check from GUZU as the other complaints indicate that they often send a check that results in Insufficient Funds resulting in an additional charge to the customer.

Please complete the reimbursement and transfer the $80.00 as promised to my [redacted] account at [redacted].

Thanks,

Patrick

Review: Company had promised payment and still have not received any payment. see below:

I have not received payment as of yet. It has been 3 weeks since I received an email stating my order was approved for payment (see email below that was received). When I go online to check status it states awaiting receipt however tracking number [redacted] ([redacted]) states it was delivered on 11/** to CHRIS.

They had explained that they were a victim of fraud and were catching up on payments but have not paid yet and have not responded to further inquiry regarding approximate date of payment.Desired Settlement: Please pay as promised in a timely manner.

Sincerely,

Review: I sent Guzu my iPhone 5s in their shipping package. The emailed agreement was they would pay me $175 for my device. I received an email from the company stating they received my phone and that it was in the shape I said it was and that I would receive my check for $175 in 5-7 business days. That was on 9/*/15. I have since tried to call an [redacted] number I found on The Revdex.com website for the company, which does not work. I have sent 3 emails to their 'support' email with no response. In my 3rd email attempt I said I would contact the Revdex.com if I had no response. I sold a phone to Guzu about a year ago and had no problems. That is the only reason I trusted using them again.Desired Settlement: I want a certified check for $175 as guaranteed to me.
