Guzu, Inc. Reviews (537)

Review: On August [redacted], 2015, I created an account with Guzu and mailed them my old iPhone 5s. I received an email notification from them saying that I had set up my account successfully, and on August [redacted] I received a notification confirming they had received my phone. I received another notification the same day confirming my item had been approved. On August [redacted], I received another notification saying that payment was on its' way. I have proof of this correspondence.

I have yet to receive the check they were meant to send me. I have reached out to them numerous times, both via their website but also to their customer support email addresses ([redacted]). I have not received a response!

I continue to receive promotional emails from them, advertisements and various junk mail. But my money ($175) for the phone has not only not been received, but nobody has responded to my emails or reached out to me to help. I searched endlessly for a support number to call online to no avail.

Please help me.Desired Settlement: Please have them send me my check ASAP.

Review: On 6//15 Guzu received my item (Apple iphone 5c 16GB) and on 6/**/15 issued payment in the amount of 30$. I misplaced the initial check and contacted Guzu on 7/**/15 to request a duplicate and to have the original check cancelled. I received a message back (request [redacted]) that a new check would be issued and to expect it in 5-10 business days. After a few weeks I had not received payment so inquired as to the status on 8/**/15 and again on 8/**/15. I did not get a reply on either inquiry.

Months went by and I assumed that I was never going to get this check but it finally appeared in the mail on 10/**/15. The check was dated 7/**/15 in the amount of 30$ (I have the check and account numbers available). The check was deposited at my banking facility on that same day (10/**/15).

On 11/*/15 I received notice from my bank ([redacted]) that the check had been cancelled due to insufficient funds. A return fee of $6.75 was assessed to my checking account. On 11/*/15 I sent yet another message to Guzu describing what happened. A week has gone by with no response. I advised in my response on 11/*/15 that if I did not hear from Guzu in a timely manner, I would contact the Revdex.com as well as the State Attorney General's office.

After almost 4 months, not only have I not received payment for an item that I sent to Guzu, but I am now out another $6.75 due to a bad check that was sent on 7/**/15 but that I did not receive until 10/**/15. This lack of communication and bad check are completely unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I would like a check issued to me in the amount of $36.75 (the initial amount of 30$ plus reimbursement for the $6.75 return fee). I have all proper bank documentation and email request proof (from the dates mentioned in my problem description) in my possession.

Review: Guzu doesn't pay for the old iPhones you send them. They have ripped off thousands of people (just look online at all the rip off complaints). They keep saying they'll pay, when you complain, but send bad checks/refuse to answer emails/just hope you'll go away (because the individual amounts aren't huge). In the aggregate, this is a huge theft by Hesham M[redacted]; he knows it and is stealing from many people. I have reported this to my attorney and to the FBI; this is criminal and needs to be stopped (he is still advertising heavily for people to send him their iPhones). He needs to be in jail.Desired Settlement: I want either the $212 (phone payment plus bounced check fee they caused bank to charge me), and I want law enforcement to arrest Hesham in defense of the massive amount of money he has stolen from a huge number of people.

Business

Response:

Customer will be refunded the amount of her order, plus any fees acquired due to the bounce.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Do not help Hesham M[redacted] at Guzu steal from thousands…I have NOT been paid, and I have reported him to the FBI (it turns out he has done the same theft with a past electronics company before Guzu called [redacted]).This guy belongs in jail; do not close the complaint saying the business addressed my concerns. They did not; I have not been paid, he has stolen from THOUSANDS of people ([redacted] the words Guzu ripoff and see how many people he’s stolen from; then [redacted] his name, also see [redacted]r where he did the same thing before years ago).I have not been paid; they are liars. And you should be sending the cops to arrest this [redacted]. This is a massive crime; get him behind bars already, for the thousands of people he’s been ripping off for years.

I emailed customer service again and received a response on July [redacted] that they would send a replacement check and to expect receipt within 3-5 days. Still no payment received. It I snow July [redacted] and I have not received the promised $120 payment nor is customer service responding to my recent emails requesting a status of the replacement check.Desired Settlement: I would like the $120 payment promised for my item.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

It is now 8/**/15 and Lynsey Y[redacted], their customer service representative, promised to send me a tracking number for the money order by 8/**/15.She has not done this and this makes the 3rd time they have promised to send it. Review: Good day,

Back on 7/**/15 I received confirmation that Guzu Inc. received my I pod 5th generation and after some communication back and forth Lindsey Y[redacted] on 7/** from customer service emailed me to say that a check for $60.00 will be mailed out to me for the exchange of my device. To date I have not received the check, I have emailed numerous times directly to her; tried to call with no answer and also sent emails on the site and no one has gotten back to me. At this point I want the $60.00 as promised or I want my device back.

ThanksDesired Settlement: I would like to get the $60 00 as promised.

Review: We ordered 1,293 XBOXs from Guzu Inc on 1/**/15 for $50,388.00 and were promised that they would be shipped to us by 1/**/15. We paid the full amount by bank wire on 1/**/15. The company has neither shipped the items as of today (4/*/15), nor has refunded our funds. We have attempted to contact them on numerous occasions but they will not call us back, nor answer our calls. We have been attempting to contact them more than 10 times per week since late January. Our only form of communication with them has been via text messages where they have promised to wire funds back to us on six occasions but have failed to do so each time. The cell phone number of the business owner that we have been texting with is ###-###-####. We have proof of their invoice to us, our wire transmission to them, plus lengthy text messages supporting our claim. They have taken our money and have not sent out our shipment, a clear fraud case. Please assist us with this case.Desired Settlement: We would like to receive our $50,388.00 back immediately.

Business

Response:

I have checked with management and accounting and the refund for this order will be put through by the end of the week. We have been in touch with the buyer and there were some complications with the deal which arose which is why we are submitting a refund. Please let us know if there is anything else that is required.

Their response last week stated that they were to refund by the end of last week. As of today, 4/**/15 we still have not received a full refund of our funds. Not sure what "complications" they are referring to. We paid $50,388.00 for product back in January and to this date they have not refunded our funds nor provided us the product. It should not take three months to refund an order that cannot be fulfilled.

This statement was made on June [redacted] and here we are seven days later and they have neither given us detailed information, nor made a payment as promised. This has been a pattern oftheirs for the past six months as they keep using these stalling tactics.

Sincerely,

I wired Hesam M[redacted] of Guzu $8K for 50 iphone 5's. After a week, he sent me a [redacted] label which never got shipped. He then stated he would wire my money back to me, however 4 weeks later I still have not received my money back. Mr M[redacted] has stated a number of times via text he will return funds "today," however nothing ever happens. He stole $8K from me.

Review: Guzu sends me emails all the time. I had sold an old phone to them prior to this incident. I believe it was two years ago. I did not have an issue. I filled out the online questionnaire pertaining to the condition of the phone.

They even sent me a follow up email promising 10 more dollars if I sold it through them.

I sold my iPhone 5s in white. It was in great working condition for I was told $275. That was to be paid through [redacted].

They sent me the box via [redacted] to ship it back in. I received an email after I mailed it confirming that they had received my white iPhone 5s and we're to pay me $275. I received a second email shortly after saying that they were processing my payment and it would be one to three business days my payment method was via [redacted]. They had everything correct. They said I would receive an email when payment was posted to my [redacted]. No longer than three business days. - PER THEM - GUZU.

Three business days came and went. After the fourth business day I decided to email them. I emailed them and received an email back, from "Amanda" support+[redacted],(that's the response email address I got)the next day stating that their online accounts had been compromised and they were just catching up with paying people back online and mailing out new checks to people's whom had bounced. It said cash flow had been compromised because they were hacked. I emailed right back asking for an eta and nothing.

I have emailed her several times a day for going on two weeks now. I have done everything I can do, minus physically going there which is not feasible since I am in Nevada. I have called as well; number is disco. No one will respond to me the phone number doesn't work. I have emailed them through every way possible. Pretending to be a new client etc. Nothing...

I looked online and I am not the first person they have done this to. They are stealing and its wrong. I am going to file a police report as well.Desired Settlement: I want to be paid!!! That phone could have gotten me at least 275 if not more. They stole from me I want it back or I want to be paid.

Review: On the [redacted] of September, I placed an order for the selling of my iPhone 6 Plus (64 GB, Space Gray) to Guzu.com. (Order # number available if needed). Declared selling value: $310.00

On the [redacted] of October, they received the item. ([redacted] Tracking # available if needed).

On the [redacted] of October, I received an e-mail stated they verified my package contents was approved for the $310.00 payment, and that the money would be sent to my [redacted] account within 1-3 business days.

It is now the [redacted] of October, a full 14 days since they stated approval.

I have contacted them twice since their approving e-mail, on the [redacted] and again today on the [redacted]). Made attempts to make a direct phone call to them. Phone numbers were invalid/disconnected. By accident, found the CEO's phone number via a [redacted]-style site ([redacted]). Called and, as you can imagine, no answer.

They are currently in possession of $310 of my money, if not simply my phone and property. I still have the serial numbers of the device on hand if proof is necessary.Desired Settlement: To have the $310.00 payed to me immediately. If not, I would want my device returned to me immediately.
