[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Assumed Answered] I am rejecting this response because:Complaint: [redacted] I regret not being able to simply "accept" H&R Block's self-defined "due diligence".As I previously stated, there is a basic structural problem in what H&R Block proposes to individuals needing to file Schedule CIn my opinion, tax-filers need to be able to see and review what they've declared and the details of their expenses even once they've finished the documents and sent them to the Tax Pro for reviewWhat happens in fact is that there is no way to review the original declaration once the tax pro gets the informationIn my case, the Tax Pro looked at the data she received, re-declared the information differently than the H&R Block computer program did, and established that I owed money to the Federal government, rather than my expecting a refundThe Schedule A also showed that my tax-deductible contributions had disappeared.Intrigued by such a change, I needed to check my figuresBut it's impossible to do so with the Block system; the computer program is devised in such a manner that you can't go back without cancelling the Tax Pro's review and basically starting over againSo in order to access the original data, I asked Block then to cancel the Tax Pro and re-calculated;, using the Block computer program again, I found the "lost" tax-deductible contributions and re-calculated with an even-higher refund due to meI didn't even bother with another Tax Pro's review as I wouldn't be able to discuss or modify anything without access to the original data again.This is not a healthy, respectful business practiceI spent many more hours than neededYes, Block reimbursed the sums, but this doesn't cover the time spent, nor excuses or corrects a faulty systemSchedule C filers should at least be made aware that once they've filled in the questionnaire, there's no turning back, not even when some of the data might go amiss.The public deserves to know about this Regards, [redacted]

The 1099r was not lose in my folder, it was stapled behind my wwhen I found my tax packet to bring in [redacted] was having difficulties with her stapler that year and had made multiple attempts to staple the packet which can be seen by the several staple holes and half stapled staples on the outside of my copyShe had to leave the room to finally borrow someone else's staplerWhen I looked in my packet for the 1099r, it fell out from behind the w2, the staple didn't catch it and fully attach itWhen I called to ask about my denial with claims I was first advised Per the terms of the peace of mind contract each client is responsible for ensuring their taxes are prepared correctly before they sign off on themThis call I have recorded for the investigator to hear, play on YouTube or whoever needs to hearMy second call which is also recorded where I asked for the actual reason other than this tax issue is not covered by your peace of mind contract in writing, I was advised that the date I had my taxes done 1099's aren't usually mailed out yetFurther explanation in writing was refused It should be noted that two days prior to the accepting tax returns being filed this year, I received a form for taxes to file this yearThese recordings can be made available to anyone who needs to hear themAn attorney if necessary if you refuse this appeal as [redacted] admitted her missing filing this document and advising claims with same information yet they still deny the claim, siting my fault for not knowing she had not filed them correctly which is what the policy states it is for Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Regards, [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com,In resolution to this matter, our investigation reflects that Mr***’s complaint is against a franchise office which has the responsibility to resolve this matter with your office and directly with the clientRecords reflect that Mrand Mrs [redacted] withdrew money from their retirement account to pay for education expensesDuring the tax interview, Mrs [redacted] advised the tax professional that the funds were used towards private school tuitionAs such the tax return was prepared based on this information and a % penalty was accessed as the client’s are under ½.According to the franchise office, it was later suggested by Mr [redacted] that in addition to private school tuition the monies were also used towards college tuition which is a qualifying educational expense that is deductableAt which point, the return was amended at no charge and the additional information was added to the tax returnAs a result of the amended return, the ***’s received their penalty amount back from the IRSIt is the franchisee’s belief that reimbursement of tax preparation fees are not warranted in this case as the return was prepared correctly with the information provided during the initial tax interviewWe trust this response will allow your office to close your fileHowever, should you have additional questions or desire to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely, [redacted] Associate Business AnalystH&R Block
