Two days ago I spoke with a manager at TripAdvisor named [redacted].  I explained to Mr. [redacted] that the salesperson ([redacted]) that originally sold me the TripAdvisor service did not provide the service that he promised.  Mr. [redacted] went as far as telling me that he was too busy to help me when I asked for it.  I also told me that the next person that was assigned to replace Mr. [redacted] also did not help.  Lastly, I explained that I called and was left on hold without anyone ever answering for more than 45 minutes...Mr [redacted] was sympathetic and apologetic of the past services and tried to convince me that their product and services have improved.  I asked Mr [redacted] to stop the automatic payment that was being taken from my bank account.  He could not (or possibly would not) but said that he'd talk with his Director and would contact me the next day.  I didn't hear from Mr [redacted] again nor did I hear from his director.  I don't think I should be charged for the service that I'm not getting.

Hello. Please note* when I placed the booking I did it through Trip Advisor. When you complete the booking on Trip Advisor, they send you to an outside page or another page and transfer you to [redacted].com at this point it was too late to back sway from this, the page already finalized your order and than at this point it was non refundable. They don't give you any warning before placing the booking, to say this is a non refundable booking, and than you can decide to submit your order or not. Even if they did it was done in a way that it is hard to notice it. Look at the screen shoot you sent me, it is inside a window in small letters. When you go with booking.com for example its very clear to you in flashy colors. This is really a blackmailing of a potential client who didn't even stayed there. any decent hotel despite the fact that it says non refundable would have giving the money back or even not charge it.   I called them immediately to cancel they say the hotel reservation is not open now, but they will try them or I should try them on Monday. When I spoke to them they refuse to do so, they said we might be able to freeze this so you can use it in the future, than they say we offer 50% but you have to tell us in advance when are you coming. 1- I do not know when I am coming 2- I don't feel comfortable staying with people who tried to blackmail me. 3- I don't think I should give them 50% of my money and not 100%. I have never had that awful experience with anyone else. They could have sold this room a month a head of time.
Regards,
[redacted]

Hi,Thank you for your response and further clarification regarding your complaint. Following our conversation today, I have explained that the review in dispute has been published on your other account with TripAdvisor, this account is with speciality lodgings and hotels. The phone number to call for TripAdvisor Business Listings is this: +[redacted]Many thanks,[redacted] - TripAdvisor Customer Care[redacted]

Dear [redacted], We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention.  We have located a support case and continued the investigation regarding your concerns. The last contact provided to you was August 30th, and our support team has yet to receive a reply. It appears that multiple accounts...

do exist for this specific listing, as you have an account on [redacted] and [redacted]. Therefore, if an account has not been updated, there could be properties on those accounts that have not been managed accurately. [redacted] does have a dedicated support staff that can assist in clarifying your concerns and they can be reached by emailing customersupport@[redacted].com. A senior representative from that team will also be contacting you shortly to provide further assistance. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Dear [redacted],Thank you for taking the time to write to us regarding your complaint. We have investigated your complaint in detail and we are sorry to hear about your experience.  We have noted that the owner contacted us to cancel your booking, as the property was unavailable for the dates...

required, the owner unfortunately accepted the booking request. For this reason, the booking should have been cancelled at this point of contact.  The $150 cancellation fee is applied to owners who cancel bookings, this fee should not be covered by a traveler. The booking was not canceled at the time because the owner was prepared to offer an alternative property.  We're sorry to hear that the alternative property offered by the owner had smells of an illicit substance, we can only imagine the distress this may have caused for you and your family.  We will send you an email directly and we are prepared to offer as a gesture of goodwill the booking fee relating to this booking.  Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.  Many thanks,[redacted] - TripAdvisor Customer Care

Dear [redacted], Thank you for your contacting us via the Revdex.com.Further to our previous correspondence, we have no record of any inquiry made by yourself using your email address to any properties within any TripAdvisor company; such as [redacted] or...

[redacted].We have looked into the evidence provided and we can see that you received an email directly from an individual's emails address to your personal email. You were also unsure how did you contact this person in the first place and also mentioned that you enquired through different companies such as [redacted] and [redacted] which are not affiliated with TripAdvisor in any way. Unfortunately, we do not know how you found this false listing but we have not located any inquiries from yourself using our platform. You were provided with a fake link that is not related to us in any way. Please be aware that is not a secure URL either and it does not have our secure domain either. When the booking is made via TripAdvisor, we advise that it is taken by the safe platform of [redacted] or [redacted]. We never ask for payment via Bank transfer, but only via PayPal or Credit Card. Unfortunately you never used our website to book a property. Even though our name was mentioned, we are not liable for this booking as it was not done by us. The email address that was used  ([redacted]) is not a genuine TripAdvisor link.At no stage have TripAdvisor, [redacted] or any of our other corporate affiliates represented that we would correspond via the [redacted] domain.  For the avoidance of doubt, we do not own the [redacted] domain, nor have we any affiliation with this source.  If you were to type the web domain into your web browser, you would see that no indication is given on that page that it has any connection to us.By way of clarification, in so far as we owe a duty of care to users, this is outlined and defined in our role as an intermediary facilitator between legitimate users and advertisers. In such circumstances, our rights and duties are set out in our terms and conditions available and applicable to all that use our website. As such, in this case, whilst we were very sorry to hear what happened, we do not agree that we owe a duty of care to individuals that have not used our website in any way. Unfortunately, we are unable to prevent our logo from being copied on the internet hence why we do urge our holidaymakers to book through our secure website www.tripadvisor.com and follow our secure booking procedure. We will not be able to refund you for the payment made for this holiday as we have never held the funds and the payment was not made via our website secure platform. We advise you to contact your bank or credit card company if applicable, as soon as possible to recover your payment and to claim on their insurance coverage.  Be sure to also report this case to the police and to Action Fraud. Action Fraud is the national collector and investigator of fraudulent cases used by all police constituencies. We will happily assist with any investigations carried out by these authorities to successfully resolve this matter.Kind regards, Trust and Safety Team

I believe you are taking this matter as a joke.  This company TripAdvisor has responded that I missed my deadline, yet I have proven my payment was sent in before the deadline.   I believe that My Name, Email address, destination and dates of destination were stolen by a TripAdvisor employee, using my personal information for there own profit.  This has to stop.  I believe with all the insurance described on the website, something should be done your satisfy the customer.  [redacted]

Dear [redacted], Thank you for your message. We are really sorry but in this case we are unable to further assist you since your complaint is related to TripAdvisor (since it's related to review left to an hotel) but you are addressing this complaint to TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals. We would suggest to contact TripAdvisor directly regarding this issue. Many Thanks [redacted] – TripAdvisor Customer Care

Hello Mr. [redacted], Thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns to TripAdvisor's page on Revdex.com. We have looked into your inquiry pertaining to review #[redacted] for [redacted] titled “Rude hotel staff.” Your review was published on July 30th, 2016 with a response from the...

property being published on August 12th, 2016. The response submitted to TripAdvisor and subsequently published on our site is from Misti Paten, as you have mentioned. Properties may only publish one Management Response per review, so we checked on the back end of the TripAdvisor site to ensure that this was the case. In some instances a property may accidentally try to publish two responses to a review but only the first submitted will be published to the site. In the case of your review, only the one Management Response has been published. You mentioned receiving a second e-mail with an additional response from an individual named [redacted]; however, there is no evidence of a second Management Response being submitted in response to your review in TripAdvisor’s system. A member of our Customer Support Team did offer to look further into this situation for you and asked for a screenshot of the aforementioned e-mail and was attempting to assist you to the best of their ability and in accordance with TripAdvisor's policies.   If the property accidentally submitted a second response and subsequently deleted it after realizing that one was already published, we would not have any information about this deleted response to provide to you. This is what may have triggered the e-mail to you, and we do apologize for any confusion that this may have caused. We have taken the time to review your correspondence with the TripAdvisor Customer Support Team pertaining to this inquiry in your support tickets #[redacted] and #[redacted]. The agent that you were corresponding with, [redacted] O, was correct in stating that even if we were able to find an second response from the property in our system, we would not be privy to share the text of that response unless the property deemed that response as the one they would like to share publicly. We hope that this helps to clarify the situation and reassure you that there is indeed only one Management Response attributed to your review for [redacted] and again apologize for any confusion that may have been caused. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. Kind regards, TripAdvisor Customer Relations Department
