Ibotta, Inc. Reviews (918)

Hello, Thank you for the concern regarding your account. Upon review of the user's account, the user is submitting photocopies of edited receipts. This is considered tampering receipts and is against the rules of Ibotta. In the image that I have included, you can see where the user taped two...

portions of two different receipts together in order to remove, obscure and edit the information presented on the original receipt. Unfortunately, this has happened multiple times throughout the account and we are unable to reactivate the account at this time. Per our Terms of Use, Section 10.1, users may not submit purchase information that is considered one of the following: false, inaccurate, fabricated, counterfeited, tampered with, adjusted, or otherwise artificial or inauthentic for the purpose of seeking to redeem offers with Ibotta. Additionally, in Section 10.6, we state that users may not attempt to obscure the date on a receipt. For example, we do not accept submissions without any clearly legible date shown or without any date entirely. We appreciate the user's cooperation and understanding and apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you.

Hi there, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately this user was deactivated due to submitting receipts across two accounts. We have deactivated the account under the email [redacted], which the earnings for that account have been redistributed. However, as a one time...

courtesy, we have reactivated the account under the email [redacted], which the user should have access to.If the user has any further questions, please have them contact [redacted], for further information. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello, Thank you for the concern regarding your account. We have completed the review of your account. Based on our review, we have chosen to permanently deactivate your account. We have verified that you have attempted to refer at least one account that uses the same account or purchase...

information. Per Ibotta's Terms of Use, Section 10.11, users may not exploit or attempt to exploit Ibotta’s referral bonus program in an effort to earn illegitimate referral bonuses or credit(s). This includes the following: inviting oneself on an additional account or inviting others who share the same mobile device.Users shall not be eligible to earn referral bonuses if they invite other users who share the same mobile device, create multiple accounts, or attempt to exploit our referral program in any way. Such actions violate our Terms of Use and provide clear evidence for Ibotta to terminate a user’s account, rescind any referral bonuses, or take any other actions as appropriate. We verified that you have submitted receipts that were first submitted by another user. Per Ibotta's terms of use, Section 10.3 users may not upload receipts to Ibotta that have already been uploaded by you or another user (regardless of the rebates being redeemed by each user).Due to the nature of our business, we reserve the right to suspend accounts either temporarily or permanently if users violate any section of our Terms of Use.Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

I am rejecting this response because:I am rejecting this response because: There was no mention of fraudulent activity on my account until I attempted to withdraw my funds. Remember that this all started when they stated I had created 2 accounts when they mistook my account and my brother's account as being the same person. Once they found out they were mistaken, they sought out a new reason not to issue my funds. My shopping behavior was no different than the previous times I made withdraws from my Ibotta account with the only exception that this time my account had a larger amount to withdraw. I live and work in a business district and frequently shop before work, during my lunch hour, after work, and various times during my days off. Since I started my Ibbota account I have redeemed offers at over 7 different businesses. It seems that I would have been allowed to keep accruing funds as much as I wanted and Ibotta would not have had a problem with that but in the end they had no intention of paying me because they had no interest in locking or deactivating my account until I asked to withdraw my funds. In the meantime they will keep the funds I earned and I'm sure they will not reimburse the manufacturers of these earned funds that they are denying me. As I stated before, being a manager that works at one of the location that is listed on the Ibotta I ask they carefully reconsider their actions. I will have no problem forwarding this list of communications to the manufacturers that use Ibotta and ask that they please consider switching to the [redacted] that provides much more honest customer service.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I have asked them to call me or email me a verification code numerous times.  They refuse to do either.  They are asking me to wait.  Waiting I have done since April 9th.  This is ridiculous!!  You can't tell me that being unable to receive this verification code by text situation has not happened before.  They are dragging there feet.  There has to be a way to receive this code another way.....text should not be the only option.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:
Ibotta still seems to think the receipt is a duplicate or not original, I don't know which because they never specified. Their responses have continually been copy and pasted to an email and sent out without checking for errors on their part. While I am happy I have been credited for my rebates I still feel the people who are overseeing the customer service are ignoring my very simple wish that they check the receipt.  I have no idea why this receipt was rejected in the first place, I submitted it just like all my other receipts. Its been very frustrating to repeatedly explain my situation to Ibotta and they still don't get it. I would be satisfied if Ibotta 1) Acknowledged they were wrong, 2) Gave me some type of compensation for messing up and 3)Ensured that should this happen again, I will be listened to instead of repeatedly being ignored and given a generic response to my problem. I am including a copy of the receipt and I think you will find that it is clearly original.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Hello, Thank you for the concern regarding your account. The user's account was deactivated on 12/4/17 and reactivated on 12/8/17. The user submitted a receipt that was cut and taped together, as provided by the image. Ibotta takes tampered receipts very seriously as an attempt to fraud Ibotta...

with an invalid submission. The user also submitted two receipts that he had marked for offer credit but the products eligible for the offer were not present on the receipt. The user has been educated about submitting these two types of receipts and submissions with the knowledge that future submissions may result in permanent deactivation. We truly apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused the user and hopes that the user understands that Ibotta is protecting it's ability to provide offer credit to all users of Ibotta. If Ibotta did not take tampered receipts seriously, we could jeopardize our relationship with brands and retailers. If the user has any further questions about his account, please contact the Care Team. Thank you for your understanding and happy earning!

receipt, Ibotta will inform you as to what time frame is acceptable to submit your receipt. We verified that you have submitted the same receipt for rebates that have already received credit. You will only receive credit for each item once, up to the allotted amount of redemptions per rebate. If the rebate reappears in your gallery, it must be purchased again on another shopping trip.Due to the nature of our business, we reserve the right to suspend accounts either temporarily or permanently if users violate any section of our Terms of Use.Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Hello, Thank you for the concern regarding your account. Unfortunately, Ibotta is firm in our decision to keep this account deactivated. The user returned items that the user received Ibotta credit for on two separate occasions. Our team received delayed notification from the retailer regarding the purchase and the user's account was audited accordingly. We were also able to obtain additional purchase information from another retailer stating that the items purchased were also returned. Unfortunately, the user's account is not at the withdrawal threshold of $20.00 and the user will not be able to claim any additional funds. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

I am rejecting this response because:As I mentioned I spoke with [redacted] they said that my account is connected and that they have reached out to ibotta. So Everything that they claim they need in order to resolve this issue has been provided. They just don't want to provide the credit and are refusing to tell me who else [redacted] can reach out to since the first person they reached out to did not communicate the issue.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Not satisfied. Cancel my Ibotta account.

They are stating that there is a conflict with the bonuses in question but when they say you have to make x amount of purchases to claim the say January bonus for 2 dollars that is where I make separate purchases to count for that bonus and then you have a level 2 January bonus I would do the same thing to get that bonus. As far as my shopping habits who are you to say how I should shop and how I shouldn’t? I used Ibotta for things that appealed to me I didn’t just go buy something because it was on Ibotta. If [redacted] was on there I used it I drink [redacted]. Is the [redacted] water was there I used it as I drink [redacted]. If [redacted] was on there is used it as I drink [redacted]. The same goes for [redacted] I’m not brand specific when it comes to beer. They pretty much all taste the same. As far as my purchases as [redacted] again if it appealed to me I bought it here again the yarn I buy was never on the rebate thing. So I always watched for the 20% cash back to appear in my [redacted] section of Ibotta and that’s when I would use it. This just seems to be an ongoing complaint with this company. Did I enjoy using Ibotta? Yes I did it was great being able to get cash in my bank account to be able to help out. I stand firm in the fact that all of my purchases claimed through Ibotta were made and retained by me. I did nothing to “violate the 10.2 terms. I haven’t seen anywhere where it says I can not make multiple purchases to count towards the bonuses for the month.

Hello,  Thank you for the concern regarding your account. After a second review of your account, we are firm in our decision to permanently deactivate both of your accounts. We verified that more than one account was created using your information. We are able to see that you earned...

funds on both. Per Ibotta’s Terms of Use, Section 11, users may not create more than one (1) Ibotta account. Due to the nature of our business, we reserve the right to suspend accounts either temporarily or permanently if users violate any section of our Terms of Use. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Hello, Thank you for the reply regarding your complaint. Unfortunately, we are firm in our decision to maintain deactivation on the user's account. On many different occasions the user is omitting information from the receipt in an attempt to appear as the original purchaser of the receipt. However, information found on the receipts does not match any information posted by the user. Therefore, we believe that these purchases were not actually made by this user, but were made by other people who are completely unaware that this user is submitted their receipts. Again, we are firm in our decision to maintain deactivation and appreciate the user's cooperation. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: The purchase was made on 12/17/17 and submitted the same day. When the receipt was submitted for the offer, I received an error. The offer was then added to my account again as often times offers are offered for subsequent redemptions. Below is a response from Ibotta support about the issue that states the offer started on 12/15/17 which verifies the offer was available on my account and the error occurred prior to the second submission for the same offer. Tori W. (Ibotta)Dec 22, 16:00 MSTHello [redacted],Thank you for taking the time to send us that photo of your 12/13/15 [redacted] receipt. Unfortunately, the '[redacted] Bonus' you are referencing actually started on 12/15/17, and so only purchases made on or after 12/15/17 are eligible for this bonus.I hope this helps answer your question. Thank you for using Ibotta, and have great day!Sincerely, Tori W.

I am rejecting this response because:I'm not asking Ibotta to reinstate my account. I'm only asking for Ibotta to provide information pertaining to the funds that remain for items that were not returned so I can I possibly provide the necessary information to obtain my current funds before my account was abruptly deactivated.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

You may cancel, close or remove this complaint. Ibotta has resolved this issue with me to my satisfaction. Thank you

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I did want to add however that I had contacted and received multiple emails from Ibotta on trying to resolve my issue. I tried all of their recommendations. I am an office manager and part of my job has components of IT type situations. So it is not like I am totally ignorant in these matters.  I still believe the company needs to be looked into. Most customers will not go to the lengths that I have to get their money.
Sincerely,
