Review: Will not remove personal information from website even though I have previously been a victim of identity theft

Policy is not to remove personal information, claiming information on site was publicly available, even if said information is not publicly available still.Desired Settlement: Remove my information from their website.

Business

Response:

Unfortunately, we cannot remove the general public's information from our search results such as name or location since it is aggregated from multiple 3rd party public records. Our website simply searches existing databases and sites with public record information such as property records, court records, and licenses. However, if the customer has an official signed court order, such as an expungement, to block a public record (arrest, court judgement, etc.), we can facilitate this removal since it is not intended to be public record. Review: This company has posted a profile with my information on their site. I have been a victim of identity theft and do not want this information posted. I have emailed and called the company repeatedly to request that they remove my information. They do not respond to email and are rude when I have called to request that my information be removed. When I asked how they got this information so that I can remove it from the source, they will not tell me that either.Desired Settlement: I want the listing for C[redacted] in Atlanta GA permanently removed from this company's site.

Review: ID True posts private information regarding my home address, work address, phone number, relatives, age, property records and many other personal facts about me. While I am aware that many sites exist that post public records, this site does not allow you to "opt out" without a certified court order. This poses a possible dangerous situation for my children and the customer service representative would not allow me to omit my information off of their site. I am very worried that my information will be sold and that my children will be located before I can get the court order.Desired Settlement: My information needs to be deleted from the ID true database immediately

Business

Response:

Hello R[redacted],

It is our policy to remove listings of public record

that are sealed by court order or expungement. However, we do remove

information for the protection of law enforcement, public officials, victims of

identity theft, and other special cases in which Federal or local law requires

information removal. We will have your name removed from our site, but we

can not guarantee your name will be removed from other data sources.

Review: I am a member of the US Army with a specific job in which having my personal information placed openly on the internet places myself and my family in direct danger. I have contacted ID true by phone and by email and they refuse to take my information off of their website, citing that its public information. I have no idea how they have my latest home address as its not even on my driver's license. Regardless, even though I have advised them of the danger that they are placing me in, they will not take down my information. I have let them know I am happy to send a written request with a copy of my military ID but they still refuse. Unless you have a court order, there is no way to opt out unlike every other information site out there. I am desperate to get my information removed, particularly after the targeted shootings in my state of military members not that long ago.Desired Settlement: I want the following idtrue profile information removed from the internet, I have found no specific profile id but their website shows the following names and cities when my maiden name Amy Keele or my current married name A[redacted] is searched on their site: A[redacted] Hill A[redacted] Clarksville, TN Sacramento, CA San Andreas, CA Lakeview, MI Valley Springs, CA

Review: I tried their service for $9.99 to see the information that was promised to be available if I would sign up with my credit card. I foolishly entered the credit card information. Once I saw how little valuable data was provided for my query vs what what promised to be available, I emailed '[email protected]' (the email address listed on my 'Welcome' email) and requested immediate cancellation. I just noticed today that IDTrue has billed me each of the last 4 months for $24.95 for their useless service. There was never a response to my request to cancel, and now I see buried in their Terms and Conditions they only take cancellation requests via phone call. They received my email requesting cancellation, why did they not respond from their '[email protected]' email address to indicate I needed to call? $100 charged over 4 months to my card for something worthless that I did not use and clearly indicated my request to cancel. Just called and they said they'll cancel now, but will not refund from the initial data on which I emailed my cancellation request (minutes after signing up for the service and realizing it was junk). NEVER do business with these scammers. There are numerous other services that provide real background data and offer real customer service and support--including honoring requests to cancel when they are made.Desired Settlement: I want my credit card refunded for the 4 months of billing (4x$24.95=$99.80) that was billed to my card after I emailed a request to cancel.

Business

Response:

We apologize that you did not receive a response to your email requesting to cancel your subscription. Please note that we have issued refunds for the four charges of $24.95 and have sent emails for each refund issued as a form of confirmation.

Review: Less than 30 days after first 'contracting' with this terrible "service", my charge card was charged 2.5 times as much as the original fee.

I originally paid for one month with ID True in an attempt to locate my former spouse for legal reasons. The charge was made on January 31, 2015 in the amount of $9.95. Not only was the information they provided incomplete and inaccurate, several portions of their 'search' were continually "Under Construction" and unusable. Other tabs sent me to another search company who also wanted my credit card information. I would never have given them the first amount if I had known ANY of these things. Today, March 2, 2015, I went to my bank account online & discovered they had charged my card again on March 1st, this time for $24.95. I called their customer service line & was told that was what they do and I'd have to contact my bank to attempt to stop the payment. They agreed to cancel my account with them, but they wouldn't issue a credit. Their website claims 100% satisfaction guaranteed, but they don't stand behind it, automatically renewing their awful service and then having the gall to increase their exorbitant rates as they see fit. This screams SCAM/FRAUD to me!Desired Settlement: As much as I'd like the original payment back as well because they completely misrepresented what they would provide, I would be placated with the return of the second amount and assurance that they will NEVER attempt to take more of my money. Additionally, they should make it very clear that they are NOT thorough or even current on the few public records they are presenting as complete search services. If they refuse to stand behind their 100% satisfaction guarantee, I feel they should be shut down completely!

Response:

Review: 10659688

I am rejecting this response because:The company misrepresented what it would provide for the fee they were charging. At no point was I informed of an automatic monthly charge for more than twice the original amount. After much searching after the second charge was made, I finally found their well-hidden 'disclaimer'. This company wass not very forthcoming with their shady terms until I called them out on it. I found the little information they provided in their so-called searches to be lacking, if not comPletely incorrect. I know this to be true because after the first inaccuracy, I " searched" my own name. Again, it was incomplete or inaccurate. Their "courtesy" half refund was a further insult. They are fraudulent and should be shut down for good. You can find more and better information on Google for free!

Review: My husband was doing a criminal background on himself since

he is applying for employment.

My husband was doing a criminal background on himself since

he is applying for employment. The site allows you to search for the person before payment is actually processed.

We entered his name; the system ran to check for criminal background, marriage; etc. Everything went green leading us to believe all information was verified.

YOUR REPORT INCLUDES: PUBLIC RECORDS SEARCH:

Names & Aliases

Address History

Phone Numbers

Email Addresses

Property Records

Real Estate

Marriage Records

Social Media Accounts Criminal Court

Arrest Records

Sex Offender

Plaintiff & Defendant

Verdicts & Fines

Liens & Judgments

Bankruptcies

Evictions

Than it asked me for payment 9.95, we paid. After payment it asked to search again the person in order to pull up the report and to view the report. He entered his name once again. All the information reported was incorrect except for his first middle and last name, dob, and sister's name and prior address's was all correct. It reported there was no criminal charges (which that didn't really bother me) but it reported never married. We got married 11 years ago and renew our vowels 8 years ago this information is public information. This site has the Revdex.com logo rating A+. this is misleading as I trusted the site since it had the Revdex.com logo. I did call them and the rep. Maria ext 561 stated I should contact the courts since the courts has the wrong information... I stated I knew the court had the right information since I have copies of my marriage cert.

I just paid for the site, only searched my husband's info as per-himself, I did not take advantage of this site to search anyone's name.. I believe this site is misleading and a scam. The Revdex.com rate A+ should be removed. This site leads you to believe is checking and it has verified all information by placing a green check next to verified info. But it does not.. it gives all incorrect information.Desired Settlement: My refund 9.95 and the Revdex.com rating A+, should be removed as this is misleading to many others. This is a scam.

Response:

Hello,Thank you for contacting ID True, and we're sorry for your experience with our product. We strive to provide the most accurate public records, and compile data from thousands of Federal, State, and County jurisdictions. Keep in mind, since the data source is public record, we can not insure the accuracy, and many jurisdictions fail to report and update public records. At the top of the reports, there is button which allows you to see all the jurisdictions that are reported. Our product does offer unlimited reports, so if you ran reports on any other people, you would see this may have just been an anomaly. We're continuing to improve our reporting tools, while trying to provide the best quality reports at very competitive price.

Review: This company refuses to remove my personal information from their web site. I called and was told they only do it if I present them with a court order. I explained I had been a victim of identity theft multiple times and this action was part of that; however, I do not have any legal document to "prove" I am a "current" victim. There are dozens of these types of companies that search public records for consumer information and then make it openly available to the world in an effort to make money. However, all of the legit ones provide a means of opting out. Not IDTRUE. They refuse. They make it ridiculously easy for anyone with mal intent to find exactly where you are. I have asked them to remove it and they refuse, bottom line. So that is the basis of my complaint.Desired Settlement: Remove my information from their web site completely. I will worry about the public sources outside of their control, but THEY have the ability to remove the information from THEIR site.

Review: I have been trying to cancel my subscription for the past 3 months. The last email I sent to them was July 7th requesting my membership be canceled which was the 3rd attempt and on 28 July 2015 I was billed $12.95 again. I followed their guidelines and sent an email to [email protected] per their web site requesting my subscription to be canceled along with the email I sent them on 7th.Desired Settlement: I would like for my subscription to be canceled and reimbursed for at least the last two months. This company should have not be able to offer online services without having a simpler way to cancel membership right on their web page and should be standard for any online business.

Business

Response:

We apologize that you had difficulties with the cancellation

of your subscription. We have cancelled your subscription and issued refunds

for the charges that went through in June and July. We have sent email

confirmations of both refunds and the cancellation.

Review: Due to nature and sensitive work my wife and I do for the U.S. Government, we fear for our lives and the safety of our family. I called IDtrue and asked them to remove our information from their database. They told me I needed to get a court order. They do not offer an opt-out option, like most reputable sites do. Review: IDTrue indicates on its privacy policy that opt outs can be conducted by emailing [redacted]@idtrue.com. Unfortunately, they have failed to respond on several requests at that email address. Either a) change the point of contact email or b) change the opt-out policy. Failing to respond to opt-out requests is extremely troubling.Desired Settlement: I need this company to respond to my request to opt-out. IMMEDIATELY!

Business

Response:

The owners of this website are putting peoples lives at risk by posting information about them without allowing for an opt-out option like most other sites do. Instead they expect you to get a "court order" or state that you work for law enforcement before they will even consider removing your information. This has put my life and my families lives at risk. Therefore, if this complaint is not resolved in the next 3 days, I will be engaging a lawyer and pursuing a reckless endangerment action against this company.
