Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: it is unreasonable for a business to say "we've resolved your problem for now" and then explain that that very same problem will be reinstated in an unknown period in the future. The business has in effect blamed another system for its own behaviors. If a business is unable to control it's websites content, even after a customer has very reasonably complied with all requests for personal identification, then that business should be held accountable. These are very shady business practices and if a business is shady in one part of its dealings, it will often be shady in another. I've worked with numerous company's to remove my information for my safety and they quickly complied with no trouble at all, the company is the giving me terrible trouble with the process and the only one telling me that they will reinstate my info. According to our records, Mr [redacted] purchased several additional in [redacted] reports, including two Criminal Checks and a Nationwide Federal Criminal report on the same individual on September 22, 2016.? These additional reports are not covered under Mr [redacted] ’ Intelius Premier membership.? As such, Mr [redacted] was charged for each additional add on report he ordered on the above-referenced date ? On September 25, Mr [redacted] emailed the Intelius customer care teamPer the Intelius Terms of Service, all fees are non-refundable, however, as a matter of customer courtesy, the Intelius customer care agent provided a refund to Mr [redacted] in the amount of $73.65.? Mr [redacted] should note this refund on his financial billing statement within the next five to seven days depending on his financial institution’s internal refund policy ? Intelius practices sneaky deceitful business ethics and a quick Google research will reveal the numerous customer complaints of the same issues I am having with them -? I DID NOT CHECK any box.? I DID NOT sign up for a premium membership they are charging me for.? THEY ADDED these programs without my authorization and in fact, throughout the Google research you will come across many people who they have added programs and charges to their accounts unauthorized.? Intelius customers are presented with a two tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius website.? They have the option of paying the full price, or a discounted promotional price which includes a 7-Day Pass of the Intelius Premier Plus Membership.? When a customer selects the promotional price, they are presented the benefits of the membership and the terms and conditions of the offer, including billing.? The billing details are reiterated on each page during the purchase process.? By choosing to proceed with the purchase at the promotional price, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions of the promotional offer.In this case, the promotional offer was accepted and the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass was activated? As requested, the Intelius Premier Plus Membership was canceled on 12/28/2016.? As stated within the Terms and Conditions which Ms [redacted] agreed to during her report purchase, Intelius has a no refund policy.? However, as a courtesy a Customer Care agent refunded the charge of $for the Intelius Premier Plus Membership on 12/28/2016.? The refund will appear on Ms [redacted] ’s statement in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date.? No future membership charges will occur.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this matter and apologize for any inconvenience

Complaint # [redacted] Consumer: [redacted] We are in receipt of the consumer complaint filed by Mr [redacted] in connection with his Intelius Premiere Membership Intelius provides clear disclosures within the report purchase process of the Premier membership offer. Below, I have outlined the process and various places in which Intelius notified Mr [redacted] of the membership offer and details On December 2, 2017, Mr [redacted] purchased a $reportAfter completing his report purchase and clicking the “Submit” button, Mr [redacted] was presented with an optional 7-day money back guarantee of the Intelius Premier membership. The offer appeared on an individual web page, contained specific offer details and gave him the choice to accept or decline the offer. The offer details were presented in a stand-alone box and explained that the Premier membership would automatically bill Mr [redacted] ’s debit or credit card used to purchase his initial report, the amount his card would be charged and instructions on how to cancel the membership either online or via a toll-free number during and after the 7-day money back guarantee period along with hyperlinks to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy Directly next to the offer details box, the offer presented two clickable buttons, one labeled “Yes and Show My Report” and the other labeled “No, Show My Report”. In order for the Premier membership to be processed, Mr [redacted] would have needed to enter his email address and affirmatively click the “Yes” button. Similar to the offer details box, a statement above the email text field explained that “By typing my email address below, that will constitute my electronic signature and is written authorization to charge/debit my account, and by clicking “Yes” I certify that I have read and agree to the Offer Details displayed to the right.” In this case, Mr [redacted] entered his email address and clicked the “Yes” button to accept the membership offer Shortly after his report purchase, Mr [redacted] would have received a receipt confirmation email sent to the email address associated with his Intelius accountThis email contained the amount Mr [redacted] paid for his report and the Intelius Premier membership terms and conditions and instructions on how to cancel his membership According to our records, Mr [redacted] did not opt out of the Intelius Premier membership or contact the Intelius Customer Care team until Mr [redacted] contacted us on December 10, At that time, Mr [redacted] was unable to completely verify his accountHowever, a representative did remove Mr [redacted] ’s account from the Premier membership plan per his request Per the Terms of Service, Intelius has a no refund policyHowever, as a matter of customer courtesy, I have provided a refund to Mr [redacted] in the amount of $Mr [redacted] should note this refund on his account within the next days depending on his financial institution’s billing cycle and internal refund policy. Additionally, it appears Mr [redacted] subsequently attempted to utilize the Intelius website using an ISP that is prohibited on the Intelius website ? Mr [redacted] ’s account has been re-enable, however, since no payments were previously processed, he will need to purchase a product that best suits his needs going forwardIn the meantime, as a matter of customer courtesy, I have provisioned his account with one free Background Report and three free People Search Reports ? Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:it was correct for Intelius to not charge me for things I did not agree to due to the fraudulent and misleading manner in which it sets up it's website.Intelius still has my personal information and VISA card information. I will takes legal action if Intelius charges me in the future. This business continues to mislead people to go to their website today and onward. I spoke to two other people that were tricked the same way I was. [redacted] suggesting, presumably, that my request was acknowledged and my information removed? Yet, there was no further contact? It was attempted at least times, to FIND, copy and paste my URL address into your requested box on-line? After plus times, submitting my URL address, it was by luck that I found the hidden URL address that your system required? This was submitted at least six timesFrom there, I was informed to that I would? received a telephone call with further instructions? I did not want to provide you with my mobile phone number, but felt pressured to do so? Each and every time, I went through this process, I received a telephone call, and pushed the appropriate button, #1, only to hear, " I am sorry, there is a problem with access? Good bye" HOW MANY Barriers have I had to overcome, with many hours spent on this, with the Barriers outrageously difficult to find, to submit, to eventually get to a return call that indicates "Good Bye' Then, to telephone India, I was told I needed to send to you a copy of my Driver's License or Passport or other Federal I.Dcard? HOW DARE YOU ask this of me, because you clearly have posted all information about me! ? I did, however, send to you in the mail the information requested? In Mr***’s case, the search he performed was for an individual he indicated lived in South DakotaSouth Dakota is one of seven states that restricts digital access to its recordsHowever, had the individual Mr [redacted] researched had a record in one of the other states that allow access, that information would have been provided on the report ? Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I appreciate their explanation on public information being available but, unless an address has changed for example I do not see with technology available today where it is not possible to program their system when an individual has a concern for their personal safety such as in my case with an Order of Protection that any public records matching my personal data be automatically rejected and not be put into their systemThey have a basic offering of the person's name and location and related persons to identify the correct individual being searched for but, other more identifiable and informative informative is available for a feeThis is purely for the company's profit at the expense of the person in their systemAn individual's safety should take preference over profitI am well aware this company is not the only such company providing such information as I have the task of dealing with those companies also Sincerely, [redacted]
