with a two-tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius websiteEach offer includes the standard one-time purchase price and a second discounted report price plus a one-week trial of the Intelius Premier Plus membershipIf the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days and they will only be charged $for the Premier Plus trial membershipHowever, if the user does not cancel, the member is enrolled in the Premier Plus membership and their credit card will be charged a monthly fee of $(plus applicable taxes) going forward Intelius provides clear disclosures within the report purchase process of the Premier Plus membership offer Below, I have outlined the process and various places in which Intelius notified Mr [redacted] of the membership offer and details According to our records, Mr [redacted] initially purchased a People Search Subscription on May 29, Mr [redacted] contacted Intelius in January and requested that this membership be terminated Per his request, a customer care representative cancelled this account on January 30, On March 13, 2016, Mr [redacted] purchased a discounted membership in the amount of $4.95, which included a 7-day trial membership of the Premier Plus membershipMr [redacted] was notified of this offer and trial membership when he selected his report type and again on the payment information pageAdditionally, he was required to manually select a checkbox on the payment information page before he could complete her report purchase that specifically notified him of the offer and the membership terms, including that his credit or debit card would be charged $(plus applicable taxes) if he did not cancel his day trial membership, a phone number to cancel his membership, that his membership benefits would continue through the last month for which he paid and that there are no refunds or partial month creditsMr [redacted] was presented with language in the same checkbox that by clicking the button to purchase, he agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (with hyperlinks to each) The “Automatic Renewal Program” section located under the “Paid Services” portion of the Terms of Service states: “Upon your acceptance of an offer for the purchase of any subscription-based Paid Services, you will be enrolled in our automatic renewal program to help ensure that there is no interruption in your access to such Paid ServicesUnder this program, you result, his credit or debit card was charged $on March 21, and every month thereafter in accordance with the disclosures and the Terms of Service that he agreed to during his initial purchase On March 21, Mr [redacted] contacted us and requested the cancellation of his Premier Plus membership Per his request, his paid membership was cancelled and no further membership fees will be charged to his Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Sincerely, [redacted] I understand the process of this companyIt is very easy to make up fake emails and stealing someone's identityI did contact my bank and they told me to contact the company and explain what happened which I did on several occasions. 2/21, 3/3, twice on 3/6,and 3/8, and again on 4/The first couple times they told me there was going to be a investigation and the would get back to me in to business days which they did notI called after the days and they told me they would not give me any information on the investigation. Yes they did give me but I am still out of $80.00.
