I asked how it's possible that they were able to refund of the charges and not the restI received the same response that they would investigate it and when I asked how long this investigation would take? Intelius customers are presented with a two tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius website.? They have the option of paying the full price, or a discounted promotional price which includes a 7-Day Pass of the Intelius Premier Plus Membership.? When a customer selects the promotional price, they are presented the benefits of the membership and the terms and conditions of the offer, including billing.? By choosing to proceed with the purchase at the promotional price, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions of the promotional offer.In this case, the promotional offer was accepted and the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Plus was activated.? When the Background Report search credit which is provided with the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass is consumed, the membership will immediately charge the monthly cost for the membership.? Before the search credit is consumed, the customer will receive a prompt informing them of the chargeAs requested, the Intelius Premier Plus Membership was canceled on 2/10/and the pending charge of $was canceled on 2/12/2016.? This will reflect on Mr [redacted] statement in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date.? Mr [redacted] will only be charged $for the People Search Report.? If the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days and they will only be charged $for the trial membershipIf the user does not cancel within the initial seven days, their credit card will be charged a monthly fee of $for a Premier Plus membership ? Per the Terms Service, which Mr [redacted] agreed to upon the completion of his report purchase on February 15, 2017, Intelius has a no refund policyHowever, as a matter of customer courtesy, an Intelius customer care representative removed Mr [redacted] from the Premier Plus membership on February 15, and suspended the $trial membership fee once Mr [redacted] contacted them via phone to request his removal from the membership programCurrently, Mr [redacted] is not enrolled in any membership programs nor are any impending membership fees associated with his Intelius account ? US Search solely collects and compiles the public records and publicly available information. Local, state, and federal agencies make updates to public records. The information can come from sources such as: marketing surveys, land deeds, catalog purchases, voter registrations, lawsuit filings, court records, magazine subscriptions, and address changes.We have removed the requested information from the US Search database, as well as affiliated sites.We recommend Ms [redacted] review our privacy policy located on the US Search website at https://www.ussearch.com/about/privacyIdentity verification is an important step toward fraud prevention. We don’t want anyone to remove records of other people. Generally, we do require an individual’s identity to be verified prior to processing an opt-out. To do this, we request that proof of identity be submitted along with the removal request. Proof of identity can be a state issued ID card or driver's license. When uploading, faxing, or mailing a copy of a driver's license, we require that the photo and the driver's license number be crossed out. However, we do need to see the name, address, and date of birth to ensure that all information is removed from our database. If an individual does not feel comfortable faxing us their driver’s license or other state issued identification, they can send a notarized statement of their identity.Additionally, it is important to remember that the procedure to opt out is temporary. Intelius customers are presented with a two-tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius websiteEach offer includes the standard one-time purchase price and a second discounted report price plus a one-week trial of the Intelius Premier Plus membership with one background report search voucherIf the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership and has not yet used their background check voucher, they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days and they will only be charged $for the Premier Plus trial membershipHowever, if the user does not cancel within the stated time frame or if the user uses the background report voucher within the initial days, they are enrolled in the Premier Plus membership and their credit card will be charged a monthly fee of $going forward ? Intelius provides clear disclosures within the report purchase process of the Premier Plus membership offerBelow, I have outlined the process and various places in which Intelius notified Ms [redacted] of the membership offer and details? On June 8, 2018, Ms [redacted] purchased a discounted phone report in the amount of $.95, which included a 7-day trial membership of the Premier Plus membershipMs [redacted] was notified of this offer and trial membership when she selected her report type and again on the payment information pageAdditionally, she was required to manually select a checkbox on the payment information page before she could complete her report purchase that specifically notified her of the offer and the membership terms, including that her credit or debit card would be charged $if she did not cancel her day trial membership, a phone number to cancel her membership, that her membership benefits would continue through the last month for which she paid and that there are no refunds or partial month creditsAdditionally, Ms [redacted] was notified that if she used her background check voucher during the 7-day trial her paid membership would begin immediately and her credit card would be charged $Ms [redacted] was presented with language in the same checkbox that by clicking the button to purchase, she agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (with hyperlinks to each)A representative copy of the purchase page Ms [redacted] was presented is attached for your review ? Per the Terms of Service, Intelius has a no refund policy and we are unable to offer a refund since Ms [redacted] utilized her Premier Plus membership to order a Background ReportHowever, I can confirm her Premier Plus membership subscription has been cancel and no further charges will appear on her account in connection with this matter ?
