I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, I do not agree with the statement they've made as follows: While not required to do so, we do, as a courtesy, accept requests from individuals to opt out their information from our databases once they have verified their identity, usually with a government issued form of identification, such as a driver’s license. I should Not have to provide my driver's license or any other personal information to Intellius or any other company that makes it their business to advertise my personal information. They don't gain consent to put my information into their system, they are certainly not going to have me provide them additional information on myself, i.e...driver's license, to remove it. What do they do with the information they find on someone's driver's license? Hold it so they can re-add the person's information again in the future and blame it on the government for making an individual's information available? Basically, Intellius is not responsible for taking information on someone else that doesn't belong to them and then claiming that they aren't required to remove it at the request of the person wanting it removed? Hardly convincing this is a legitimate business

what information would be provided if it was availableIntelius’ policy is to use all applicable means to deliver the information services ordered by its customers. The information provided is gathered from selected public records and other publicly available informationThe data is compiled into a comprehensive database record that Intelius maintains with active updates from its sources. Due to the nature of public records, however, Intelius cannot warrant the information provided is always current, complete, or accurate. We are in receipt of the consumer complaint filed by Mr*** in connection with Intelius’ pricing structure
Intelius customers are presented with a two-tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius
website. Each offer includes a discounted report price plus a one-week trial of the Intelius Premier Plus membership. If the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days and they will only be charged $for the Premier Plus trial membership
Per the Terms Service Mr*** agreed to upon the completion of his report purchase, Intelius has a no refund policy. However, as a matter of customer courtesy, I have provided a refund of the $charge and removed Mr*** from the Premier Plus membership program on November 9, 2016. Mr*** should note this refund on his credit card within the next to days, depending on his financial institution’s refund policies.

We are in receipt of the consumer complaint filed by Mr***.Intelius customers are presented with a two-tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius website. They have the option of paying the full price, or a discounted promotional price which includes a 7-Day Pass of
the Intelius Premier Plus Membership. When a customer selects the promotional price, they are presented the benefits of the membership and the terms of service of the offer, including billing. By choosing to proceed with the purchase at the promotional price, the customer agrees to the terms of service of the promotional offer.In this case, the promotional offer was accepted and the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass was activated According to our records, the Intelius Premier Plus Membership was canceled online on August 4, 2017. Per the terms of service, which Mr*** agreed to when he purchased the discounted People Search Report, Intelius has a no refund policy. However, as a courtesy, the charge of $for the 7-Day Pass was refunded on August 15, 2017. The refund will appear on Mr***’s statement in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date.Since Mr***’s Intelius Premier Plus Membership is canceled, no subscription charges are currently associated with his Intelius account and no further membership charges will occur unless Mr*** proactively signs up for a subscription membership plan sometime in the future.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this matter and apologize for any inconvenience

Per Mr***’s request, we have removed his information from the Intelius database, as well as our affiliated websitesHowever, it is important to remember that the procedure to opt out is temporaryIntelius is constantly updating its database with new public recordsAt some point in the future, an individual may need to resubmit a request to opt out for any new records that may have been added to its database since their last opt out requestWhile we are unable to anticipate how, when, or if information will reappear on our sites, we will be more than happy to remove an individual’s information upon request.

Before the search credit was consumed, Ms*** would have received a prompt confirming the use of the search credit and the charge which she would receiveThe Intelius Premier Plus Membership was canceled on 2/14/2016. The charge of $was refunded on 3/8/2016. This refund will appear on Ms*** statement in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date. No future membership charges will occur.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this matter and apologize for any inconvenience

Intelius solely collects and compiles the public records and publicly available information. Local, state, and federal agencies make updates to public records. The information can come from sources such as: marketing surveys, land deeds, catalog purchases, voter registrations, lawsuit
filings, court records, magazine subscriptions, and address changes.We would be more than happy to remove Ms*** information, however, we are unable to locate any information for her. We ask that she reply with the URL where her information appears on our website. Once we have located her information, we will be able to remove it.Generally, we do require an individual’s identity to be verified prior to processing an opt-out. To do this, we request that proof of identity be submitted along with the removal request. Proof of identity can be a state issued ID card or driver's license. When uploading, faxing, or mailing a copy of a driver's license, we require that the photo and the driver's license number be crossed out. However, we do need to see the name, address, and date of birth to ensure that all information is removed from our database. If an individual does not feel comfortable faxing us their driver’s license or other state issued identification, they can send a notarized statement of their identity.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this issue apologize for any inconvenience
