We are in receipt of the consumer complaint filed by Ms*** in connection with Intelius’ pricing structure
Intelius customers are presented with a two tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius
website. Each offer includes a discounted report price plus a one-week trial of the Intelius Premier Plus membership which includes one background check voucher per month. If the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days and they will only be charged $for the Premier Plus trial membership
Based upon a search of our database using the email address Ms*** supplied in her complaint, she conducted a telephone number search report in which, when prompted prior to receiving her search results, she purchased the Premiere Plus membershipOnce she purchased this membership, she used her membership monthly voucher to conduct an individual background report search
As stated in the Terms of Service, which Ms*** agreed to prior to completing her purchase, Intelius has a no refund policy. However, as a matter of customer courtesy, I have provided her a refund of $on October 25, Additionally, a customer service agent removed her from the Intelius Premier Plus membership program and she will not receive any future charges in connection with this membership

Intelius Premier Membership when she purchased a discounted Nationwide Criminal Check on May 17, After she completed her initial purchase, she accepted a 7-day trial membership for Intelius’ companion Identity Protect Program After enrolling in each program, Ms*** would have received a confirmation email sent to the email address associated with her Intelius accountThis email contained the amount Ms*** paid for her report and the Intelius Premier and Identity Protect membership terms and conditions and instructions on how to cancel each of her membershipsAdditional information regarding each membership program can be found at https://www.intelius.com/idprotect and www.intelius.com Each monthly statement from her financial institution that included a monthly fee from Intelius would have also included a phone number to cancel her membership subscription(s)Additionally, her credit card agency would have supplied Intelius with all updated information, including numbers and expiration dates when new information became available According to our records, Ms*** did not contact us regarding the Intelius Premier and Identity Protect memberships until November 27, At that time, an Intelius Customer Service Agent cancelled Ms***s memberships and provided her a refund of her last three-month membership fees for both memberships for a total amount of $($x = $119.70)Out of courtesy, I have provided her an additional months of refunds for both memberships in the amount of $Her total refund therefore, is six months for each membership in the total amount of $We are unable to provide Ms*** with any additional refunds This information should successfully resolve Ms***'s complaintShould your office or Ms*** have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] Sincerely, Tara M*** SrIP & Marketing Compliance Manager www.intelius.com

Intelius customers are presented with a two-tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius websiteEach
offer includes a discounted report price plus a one-week trial of the Intelius Premier Plus membershipIf the user elects to continue with their selected report type but does not wish to continue the Premier Plus membership they are instructed to cancel the Premier Plus membership within the first days and they will only be charged $for the Premier Plus trial membershipHowever, if the user does not cancel, the member is enrolled in the Premier Plus membership and their credit card will be charged a monthly fee of $going forward
The terms and conditions of the Intelius Premier Plus promotional offer, including the billing details, are presented multiple times during the purchase processOnce a user selects a specific price point, the billing details are shown in the order summary, which is viewable on each page of the checkout processOn the final page of the checkout process, the billing details of the promotional offer are presented again and the user must affirmatively check a box next to these details in order to complete the purchaseIf the billing details are not accepted, the promotional offer is removed and the cost of the report will return to its full standard priceAdditionally, after a purchase is completed with the promotional offer, the customer will receive a pand a welcome email for Intelius Premier Plus, which reiterates the billing details
Per the Terms Service Ms*** agreed to during her report purchase, Intelius has a no refund policyHowever, as a matter of customer courtesy, a customer care agent provided Ms*** with a refund of $on December 30, and removed Ms*** from the Premier Plus membership program per her requestWe are unable to provide Ms*** with any additional refunds

Complaint Number: ***Consumer Name: *** *** We are in receipt of the consumer complaint filed by Mr*** in connection with his dissatisfaction with a Background Report he ordered on the Intelius website on August 15, Mr*** mentions in this complaint that he used
the Intelius website to do a “background check for my tenant”. However, if Mr*** was using the Intelius website in order to determine housing for one of his prospective tenants, he should note that “Intelius does not provide consumer reports and is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)This site should not be used to determine an individual’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or any other purpose covered by the FCRA.” As such, Intelius does not supply the information that Mr*** noted in his complaint, such as credit records, worker compensation, etc. Intelius posts the following FCRA notice on almost every page of its website, including the homepage, search results page and in the purchase terms on the payment information pageA copy is attached here for your review Additionally, Intelius provides a list of the items that may be included in the report if its available as well as a link to a report sample on the product selection pageA copy of the product selection page is attached for your review On August 24, Mr*** instituted chargeback proceedings via his credit card on two separate Intelius charges: the amount of his report ($49.95) and the amount of the Premier monthly membership Mr*** purchased when he ordered his reportMr***’s credit card agency denied the $chargeback refund, however, he was provided with a $refund for his Premier membership fee and Intelius has subsequently removed him from any future membership programsAccording to his membership record, it does not appear that Mr*** contacted us regarding his concerns prior to the receipt of the chargeback notice from his credit card company This information should successfully resolve Mr***’s complaintShould your office or Mr*** have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] Sincerely, Tara M***SrIP & Marketing Compliance Managerwww.intelius.com

Intelius customers are presented with a two tier pricing structure when purchasing reports on the Intelius website. They have the option of paying the full price, or a discounted promotional price which includes a 7-Day Pass of the Intelius Premier Plus Membership. When a customer
selects the promotional price, they are presented the benefits of the membership and the terms and conditions of the offer, including billing. The billing details are reiterated on each page during the purchase process. By choosing to proceed with the purchase at the promotional price, the customer agrees to the terms and conditions of the promotional offer.In this case, the promotional offer was accepted and the Intelius Premier Plus 7-Day Pass was activated The Intelius Premier Plus Membership was canceled on 12/27/2016. As stated within the Terms and Conditions which Mr*** agreed to during his report purchase, Intelius has a no refund policy. However, as a matter of courtesy I have refunded three charges of $for the Intelius Premier Plus Membership. The refund will appear on Mr*** statement ($29.95x3) in one of the next two billing cycles, depending on the closing date. All membership charges have been refunded and no future membership charges will occur.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this matter and apologize for any inconvenience

Public Records only offers subscriptions with options to select billing to reoccur monthly, quarterly, or annually. Currently, there is no option to purchase a single month of access.As requested, the Public Records Membership was canceled on 1/19/along with the pending charge of
$19.95. Since the transaction was pending at the time of cancellation, Mr*** debit/credit card was not debited. The pending transaction should have been released back into Mr*** account by his financial institution. Mr*** should reach out to his financial institution for more clarification on when this will reflect in his account. Only a charge of $will be charged for the first month the membership was active. Again, the Public Records Membership has been canceled and there will be no future membership charges.We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this matter and apologize for any inconvenience
