Internet Domain Name Services (IDNS) Reviews (210)

Welp what else is there to say, they are a scamSending out mail to people who own domain namesHow scummy can you beThere mail looks like an invoice and smells like an invoiceThey are supposedly charging 4x the amountHmmmDo not conduct business with these guys they are just trying to take your hard earned money

IDNS uses publicly available domain name registration and expiry information to create misleading and unsolicited letters designed to take advantage of and misinform business owners about their website's domain registrationThey prey on people who do not understand the domain registration process and try to trick them into unknowingly re-registering their domain name with a new provider at an unreasonably inflated price that is way out of line with industry standardsThere is an obvious attempt to word these letters in a way that will make the recipient concerned with the potential loss of their website's domain name when iDNS has no actual way of knowing if that is the caseMany domain providers have auto renew features and the domain is often very secureThese tactics undermine legitimate businesses that serve these business owners by providing them web design and registration servicesAny business that relies on taking advantage of people should be exposed for what it is really

Asking for money with invalid website

I cannot echo the other reviews about iDNS enough - I had a nearly identical experienceI received the letter that encouraged me to renew my domain name before the given date so as not to risk my customers not being able to locate me on the internetThere was a 1, 2, and year price break down as wellUnfortunately, I fell for it and renewed - luckily for only yearWhen I called to explain everything and have it cancelled, I barely had the words "I feel like your company scammed me," out of my mouth and the representative on the other end went off angrilyHe called me ignorant, accused me of trying to sound intelligent, etcI have never been spoken to in such a manner while conducting business; It was startling, to say the leastBefore hanging up, I told them to delete my contact information including business name, address, phone number, and emailHonestly, I did not wait for a response from them after that, I simply hung upAfter debriefing with an associate, I was reminded that true customer service representatives will almost always provide their name as soon as they answer and try to deescalate a customer who has become angryI was never given a name, I was never angered until the iDNS representative berated me, and even still - I did not holler or call any namesInstead, the iDNS representative escalated the situation himself and did nothing to remedy itI could not be more disappointed with everything that happened - lesson learned, I will likely never forget this experience as a young professional

I received a bill in the mail from this company for a domain name from *** I called *** and they do not bill through IDNS
Internet Domain Name Services *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** ***
Plus their charges are way over *** prices to renew a Domain Name This is a SCAM per *** I am reporting this because this
IDNS company is billing customers and not a company ** *** ever has or will use I have a secure account directly with ** *** and
will tear this bill up This is criminal for a company to bill me when they are not ** *** Please help to eliminate this type of wrong business practice which takes money from innocent US citizens This billing practice by IDNS should be shut down immediately Thank you

I received a "Domain Name Expiration Notice" from iDNS (www.idns.ae)We don't subscribe to services from this companyHowever, upon calling and asking to be removed from their mailing list, I was told I was not asking politely enoughI asked if the gentleman I was talking with was the polite police or an etiquette professor; since he was so keen to point out how incorrectly I was asking to be removed from the mailing listThen had the audacity to tell me my parents raised me with poor mannersI told him I clearly wasn't going to get off any list talking with him and could I speak with the supervisor"I am the supervisor" was the response I gotI said then i'd like to talk to your manager"He doesn't want or have time to talk to you." This isn't even a service my company subscribes toThey send out bills saying that your Domain Name is expiring and offer picing and a space to fill in credit card intoIts a scamI just wanted to stop getting mail from themHe was completely

Hold on Everyone!
Don't even talk to these people! Go to https://www.whois.com/ and look up your Domain NameAt the very top of the page, there is a search box, enter your domain name, click on the magnifying glass WHOIS buttonThe following report comes backDOMAIN INFORMATION
Domain:l***c.com
Registrar:GoDaddy.com, LLC
Registration Date:2015-01-Expiration Date:2019-01-Contact your current Registrar (in this case GoDaddy.com, LLC) and find out what you are currently payingChances are it's a lot less than what IDNS wantsDon't worry your current Registrar will send you a notice to renew when the time is rightI hope this helps if not and you don't know who to ask, go to your local Library they will find someone that can help you sort it outIDNS is just trying to steal your business from your current RegistrarOh, and by the way, a little research I found that at Bergen Ave is a UPS Store so the Suite # is probably a PO boxCheck for yourself, search for "THE UPS Store Jersey City" and see what comes back

I continue to receive renewals for my Domains from Internet Domain Name Services Inc (IDNS) asking to renew my Domain at enormous prices All my Domains are purchased through another company originally and I renew with them each year This company is trying to steal the registration of Domain from other companies and this is very wrong!!! I have ask to be taken off their mailing list but it does no good!

IDNS Mailed a bill for domain renewal that is misleading and felonious

DON'T PAY A THING!!! Charge $45/yr for a domain you already pay a fraction forI constantly receive letters from this company requesting that I renew my domain by transferring my domain to themThe letter is always the same, acts as if it were urgent and to someone who is not aware, could easily be deceivedThe company solicits using information harvest from the WHOIS Database which is completely against the TOS"By submitting a
whois query, you agree that you will use this data only for lawful
purposes and that, under no circumstances will you use this data to: (1)
enable high volume, automated, electronic processes that stress or load
this whois database system providing you this information; or (2) allow,
enable, or otherwise support the transmission of mass unsolicited,
commercial advertising or solicitations via direct mail, electronic
mail, or by telephoneThe compilation, repackaging, dissemination or
other use of this data is expressly prohibited without prior written
consent from us."
I'm not sure if it's illegal, but it should beI have requested them not to contact me in the past, but I fear it will never change!

Kevin with employee "ID#1" is the definition of what this company isUnbelievable condescending, rude serviceTrashy product, trashy service, trashy peopleIf you're that upset about working there, leave your job and try not to be a sore loser over the phone

I was sent a renewal notice for a internet domain name that is mineAfter I paid the fee of $45.00, I was requested to provide permission to transfer the domain nameI never intended to transfer, but to renew onlyWhen I called to complain hat I was not told that it was a transfer, they insisted they did tell me and would not return my $

Sends out scam letters in an attempt to mislead people to buy overpriced domain renewals

Our accounting department made a mistake on sending money to IDNSThey sent what looked like a bill, the accounting department assumed it was, and sent moneyQuickly realizing this, we attempted to contact the companyWhen we got a hold of them, I proceeded to explain the situation and that is when it went down hillThe representative proceeded to speak to us in a rude and unprofessional manner He stated in summary that it was our fault and wished us good luck in dealing with this, and hung up the phoneInitially our intention was to resolve this in a calm manner, the response we received is scam like behaviorThis is unacceptable and frankly unprofessional

I current have a web domain, *** that is hosted by *** ***The account is paid and does not renew until 02/03/However, I received a bill from a different company (iDNS) in postal mail informing me of "Domain Name Expiration Notice." It states that my domain will expire on 02/07/-- untrueIt states that I must renew now with iDNS or I will lose my domain nameThe communication is fraudulent, and I believe it is a phishing scam

I recently received a bill from this company regarding the domain name my personal website. My website was not set up with this companyThey were falsely billing me to "renew" my domain nameFees year ($45), years ($80) and years ($180)

A man named Kevin S*** answered the phone when I called to inquire about this piece of mail He was extremely rude to me when I stated my confusion I tried to ask for his manager, but he continued to ridicule me and wouldn't give me any information

I received a letter saying my domain was about to expire from IDNSThe letter was confusing and it lead me to believe I needed to use themThey are not who I registered my domain withI emailed asking for a refund

I have never contacted this company for any reason, yet they sent a letter designed to look like a bill and requesting a credit card numberI have both DNS registration and hosting services automatically renewed through my local service provider so the registration is certainly not about to expire as statedI will be notified of the debit and it will be paid days before its due dateYet the letter sounds so convincing that I had to read the entire thing very carefully before being sure I could throw it away O proof, but it felt like a scam to get the card number

This is a scam. They send a vague letter that looks like a renewal notice from an authority and charges ridiculous high pricePlease don't fall for it
