IDNS INC

I received a letter stating that my domain needed to be renewed to retain exclusive rights to my websiteFailure to renew my domain would cause a loss of itTherefore I paid $in order to maintain my domain nameAll this is a ScamiDNS literally stole my $80, as they do not provide any service for meI did not have to pay this fee as my domain is registered with the company that does the hosting of my websiteiDNS

This individual was never sent an invoice from our company, they received an offer to transfer to us for their domain renewal, the letter CLEARLY said:
"When you switch today to Internet Domain Name Services you can take advantage of our best savings" "You
must renew your domain name to obtain exclusive rights to it on the web, and now is the time to transfer and renew your name from your current registrar to Internet Domain Name Services.""Domain holders are not obligated to renew their domain with their current registrar or with Internet Domain Name ServicesReview our prices and decide for yourselfYou are under no obligation to pay the amounts stated unless you accept this offerThis notice is not a bill, it is rather an easy means of payment should you decide to switch your domain name registration to Internet Domain Name Services."If they made a mistake we are happy to issue them a refund, all they need to do is call or email their request to have us rectify their error

The company I work for has received multiple email notices from this company containing the wording described in the Revdex.com summaryIt is intended to make one believe that their domain is expiring and they need to renew through iDNSIt is intentionally misleadingYou cannot convince me otherwiseUnless you are the individual responsible for purchasing/managing your company's domains, you would have NO CLUE that this isn't the company who hosts your domain(s)The letter is quite convincingI had been receiving the bulk of these emails and trashing themThey sent one to someone within our office who pays some bills but does not manage our domains and she, like so many others, assumed they were our domain host so she paid themA month and a half later I realized what had happened so I called themHere's exactly how the conversation went:
me: So, here's what happened-
CSR: (cutting me off) I don't need a whole back story ma'amJust tell me what you wantDirect and to the point is bestme: I want to cancel the transfer and receive a refundCSR: OK tell me your name and the last digits of the credit cardme: (told him my name and last 4)
CRS: A refund is being processed to the credit cardCLICKSo we are allegedly receiving a refund (I'll be watching the credit card to be sure), but I am quite disgusted in their marketing tactic and customer service

Received a letter stating my domain name was going to expire and that I should switch to their company to take advantage of "our best savings"The price range they have for domain registration is just way out of lineThey are just trying to take advantage of people Single year from IDNS for a .com is $ Average you can get form almost anyone else $10-$ Even their year best value is at least double the standard priceAvoid at all costs

We received a letter that implied we must pay a fee to renew our domain nameI was calling to ask how to transfer to a new hostThe man on the phone refused to give me his name and told me the letter was not a billI stated that I was aware but we had paid it and needed to transferHe was clearly agitated by my question and I asked why he was upsetHe went on to state that I was asking a stupid question, like calling and asking if the sun was yellowThat I was disputing our domain ownership when he had told me it wasnt with themI reiterated that I was just trying to figure out where we sent a payment to then, and how to transfer our domainhe then told me he didn't want our business anyway, refused to give me his name and hung up on me repeatedly when I tried to call back to speak to a different representative

I received a notice in the mail from IDNS stating that our domain name was about to expire and we could renew with this companyI went to their web site and renewed with my credit card which they charged on 10/25/On 2/11/my web site was not workingI had originally registered my domain name with *** and stupidly did not pay attention to the letter I received from IDNS telling me to renew.....I had never register it with IDNSIDNS charged me $and did not provide the domain name serviceI have found many others online that state that IDNS has done the same to themI did call *** and re-register my domain name with them and my site is back up and running

So I recieved an invoice in the mail that my domain name was up.and that I neded to pay to keep my website liveI promptly sent the invoices for processing for three of my businesses and sent payment to IDNSAfter investigating the payment and why my sites were no longer on the internet, I have learned that this company is a scamMy website hosting cannot be changed and my domain name is locked and cannot be transferred even after sending this company payment
I have e mailed customer support numerous times to no avail
I will be taking legal action as my next step

This business has delivered an advertisement to me misleadingly titled "Domain Name Expiration Notice" which appeared prominently in bolded, large text at the top of the advertisementA domain name expiration notice would presumably be sent by my domain name registrar, one of its representatives of affiliates, or an official organization, so at first I assumed it was such a notice
The advertisement contains text near the beginning saying "...Now is the time to transfer and renew your name from your current Registrar to Internet Domain Name ServicesFailure to renew your domain name by the expiration date may result in a loss of your online identity..." This misleadingly implies that the only way to maintain my domain name is to send money to this business
Only later in the advertisement am I told that "Privatization of Domain Registrations and Renewals now allows the consumer the choice of Registrars when initially registering and also when renewing a domain name." This singl

Scam artists, plain and simpleWonder how these people sleep at nightWe received a mailing for a domain we don't even manage any longer, which raised suspicionsI contacted the current registrant and they informed us of the scamming practice here

This customer contacted us with a horrific attitude, and was quite belligerent on the phoneRegardless we still provided him with the utmost customer services and his credit card was refunded the full amount on Feb 2nd 2016, therefore there is no issue and we find this complaint to be spurious
at best.

Called to speak with them on the phone about them sending me a bill for renewing my domain name which was not owned by them They were total a**holes on the phoneI would never use them nor recommend themThey are scamming people! Do not use them Horrible!

IDNS sends very formal looking renewal docs that are extremely deceptive We were able to catch the deception, because they were not an existing vendor in our ERP This setoff alarm bells and an investigation was started internally IDNS deceptively disguises the document to appear as a renewal, when it is really an attempt to deceptive switch vendors to IDNS

Our advertisement makes no such claims whatsoever, the expiry date listed on the letter is accurate and the letter clearly offers the consumer to choice to transfer to our company for their renewal, this is the direct text from our solicitation:
"When you switch today
to Internet Domain Name Services you can take advantage of our best savings" "You must renew your domain name to obtain exclusive rights to it on the web, and now is the time to transfer and renew your name from your current registrar to Internet Domain Name Services.""Domain holders are not obligated to renew their domain with their current registrar or with Internet Domain Name ServicesReview our prices and decide for yourselfYou are under no obligation to pay the amounts stated unless you accept this offerThis notice is not a bill, it is rather an easy means of payment should you decide to switch your domain name registration to Internet Domain Name Services."
Therefore this complaint is entirely invalid

My complaint is a combination of misleading advertising, customer service, and refund issuesI received a formal letter from this company stating that I needed to renew my domain or it would expireI paid them for years of their renewal services, only to find out that they are not even hosting my domain or have anything to do with itI googled the company, and I found many complaints of them being scam artistsI called them and demanded a refund and they said they needed the last digits of my credit cardIt was a company credit card and I do not know which one was used, as I had someone else with the company pay for it months agoI told them this and they said they could not refund me and quite frankly, were very rudeI gave them one of the credit card numbers we use and they said it didn't match, but I'm wary that they are lying giving they are a fraudulent company with many complaints

I called this company this morning because one of my clients (a church) received one of his "invoices," and was about to pay it! I called to tell iDNS to please not send any of my clients one of these fake "invoces," but could hardly get a word in edgewise, as this 'gentleman' immediately began yelling and ranting about the fact that it was clearly stated (buried in the text) that it was not a billHe wouldn't let me speak, and I finally had to tell him to "SHUT UP!" so I could say somethingHe continued, and demanded an apology!
This 'business' is a complete fraud, and should be shut down

SCAM - They sent an official looking direct mail letter to my home addressI never opened it because I recognized it for what it was Domain Name SlammingI will be filing a complaint with the United States Postal Service for using Federal Mail in an attempt to commit fraud

What we have sent is a solicitation clearly asking domain owners if they are interested in renewing their domain services with our company by transferring over to us for the renewal. The letter clearly states in 12 point font:"When you switch today to Internet Domain Name Services...

you can take advantage of our best savings""You must renew your domain name to obtain exclusive rights to it on the web, and now is the time to transfer and renew your name from your current registrar to Internet Domain Name Services.""Domain holders are not obligated to renew their domain with their current registrar or with Internet Domain Name Services. Review our prices and decide for yourself. You are under no obligation to pay the amounts stated unless you accept this offer. This notice is not a bill, it is rather an easy means of payment should you decide to switch your domain name registration to Internet Domain Name Services.""Transfer and renew your domain name online at [redacted] 24 hours a day, 7 days a week"
We feel this explicitly states the purpose for the letter, that it is merely an offer from our company and is in no way misleading.

This customer was not scammed in any way, they received our offer to transfer to us which clearly stated:
"When you switch today to Internet Domain Name Services you can take advantage of our best savings""You must renew your domain name to obtain...

exclusive rights to it on the web, and now is the time to transfer and renew your name from your current registrar to Internet Domain Name Services.""Domain holders are not obligated to renew their domain with their current registrar or with Internet Domain Name Services. Review our prices and decide for yourself. You are under no obligation to pay the amounts stated unless you accept this offer. This notice is not a bill, it is rather an easy means of payment should you decide to switch your domain name registration to Internet Domain Name Services."

If they made a mistake and would like a refund for their error we are happy to oblige, however they have not made any attempt to even contact us for a refund.

This is a company that uses very vague language in their advertising in order to gain new customers. That does not seem to be a good way to KEEP customers... Don't waste your time or money with IDNS Inc. They charge 4 times the market rate for domain registration and I doubt their customer service is worth anywhere close to that.
