Our District Vice President contact member regarding her concerns. Her personal training agreement includes a voluntary cancelation provision, which affords her the option to unilaterally cancel at any time, for any reason, by paying only 50% of the remaining balance due under the agreement....

However, LA Fitness agreed to reduce the cancellation fee from 50% down to 33% of the remaining agreement balance. Member will take advantage of the reduced cancellation fee.

Management has made an attempt to contact Mr. [redacted] regarding his monthly billed family membership. We encourage him to return our call to discuss his concerns further. Thank you

Management spoke with Ms. [redacted] regarding the cancellation of her monthly dues membership. Management cancelled her membership on 10/9/2017 with no further billing. We believe this matter to be resolved. Thank you.

Member spoke to management on 3/17/16 regarding cancellation of their monthly membership. Cancellation was completed and no further billing will occur.  A refund was processed for $47.87 back to the [redacted] card on file. Refunds typically take 5-7 business days to be completed. We believe...

We expressed our concern for Mrs. [redacted]’s safety and wellbeing after the incident that occurred. We appreciate her feedback and concerns regarding our facilities and strive to provide a...

clean and healthy environment. Management was in contact with our facilities department to address the issue. As a courtesy, an extension was completed on Mrs. [redacted]’s guest pass allowing access to our facility until the end of March. We believe this matter to be resolved. Thank you.

Management contacted [redacted] regarding the cancellation of his monthly dues membership. [redacted] stated he attempted to cancel via telephone on October 14, 2015. This is not an acceptable form of cancellation and as a result, no such cancellation was processed.  The history on [redacted]’s...

account reflects that he was advised by telephone of accepted cancellation procedures when he contacted our membership department. LA Fitness provides members with the option to cancel their membership at any location between the hours of 8AM-5PM Monday through Friday, but we strongly advise that member's mail in a written cancellation request via certified mail to ensure return-receipt.
This cancellation policy is not designed to make it difficult for our members to cancel, but rather to ensure cancellations are handled properly. As a courtesy, a cancellation was completed on June 17, 2016 and we have also agreed to a refund back to his [redacted] card on file in the amount of $119.80. Refunds typically take 5-7 business days to complete. We believe this matter to be resolved. Thank you.

Our records reflect that member purchased personal training services pursuant to a written and fully executed agreement. The agreement was for a minimum initial term of 12 months, beginning 1/24/15 (the “Initial Term”). Member paid a total of $259.00 up front, which included the processing fee...

and payment for the first month of personal training sessions. He further agreed to make 11 more equal payments, in the amount of $160.00 each, every month, beginning 2/24/15, for the remainder of the Initial Term. These terms are clearly outlined on page 1 of member’s agreement and he acknowledged his understanding of these billing terms by initialing three separate sections of the payment schedule outlining these terms. His personal training agreement includes a voluntary cancelation provision, which affords him the option to unilaterally cancel at any time, for any reason, by paying only half of the remaining balance due under the agreement. This provision is clearly outlined on page 2 of his agreement. In addition, his agreement included a New Client Checklist which outlined key terms, including his acknowledgement that he received and read a copy of his personal training agreement, the initial term of 12 months and the voluntary cancelation provision. This Checklist was reviewed with him at the time of the sale, as acknowledged by his signature on the New Client Checklist. It should also be noted that, after signing digitally, a copy of the New Client Checklist was printed and member initialed next to each of these bullet points manually further acknowledging his understanding of these terms (copies of the agreement and New Client Checklist are included with this response).Member’s personal training services agreement specifically provided him with a 30-day right to cancel if these terms did not match his understanding (or for any reason) for a full refund. However, he did not take advantage of this option within the rescission period. Thus, under the clear and explicit terms of the Agreement, he is not entitled to terminate the agreement and abandon his contractual obligations early without a fee.LA Fitness will honor the voluntary cancelation provision of member’s agreement should he elect to take advantage of it. Otherwise, he should be expected to honor his agreement as LA Fitness stands ready to provide the services for which he contracted.

Member’s personal training agreement includes a voluntary cancelation provision, which affords her the option to unilaterally cancel at any time, for any reason, by paying only half of the remaining balance due under the agreement.
This provision is clearly outlined on page 2 of her agreement. In addition, her agreement included a New Client Checklist which outlined key terms, including her acknowledgement that she received and read a copy of her personal training agreement, the initial term of 12 months and the voluntary cancelation provision. Nevertheless, LA Fitness agreed to waive the cancellation fee, we cancelled the remaining term of her personal training agreement with no further billing or obligation and we allowed her 30 days to complete the remaining personal training sessions. Please note that we were not contractually obligated to provide this remedy, but this was done as a customer service consideration for our member. However, member is not entitled to a refund if she failed to use the remaining sessions within the 30 days allotted.

Management contacted [redacted] regarding the canecllation of her monthly billed fitness membership. She state to have cancelled however  no such cancellation request was received. LA Fitness provides members with the option to cancel their membership at any location between the hours of 8AM-5PM...

Monday thru Friday, but we strongly advise that member’s mail in a written cancellation request via certified mail to ensure return receipt.
This cancellation policy is not designed to make it difficult for our members to cancel, but rather to ensure cancellations are handled properly. With that being said per her request an immediate cancellation has been processed and no further billing will occur and the balance in the amount of $39.90 has been waived. We completed a search in our system using the phone number provided, however, it produced no results. Our cancellation policy is not designed to make it difficult for our members to cancel, but to ensure cancellations are handled properly. We have received no such cancellation request from Ms. [redacted]. As a result, no cancellation was processed and the monthly billing continued based on the membership terms. As a courtesy, we have cancelled her membership to prevent future monthly billings.
