Although I still had to get a small U-Haul to move last minute items, PODS was the best moving experience I've had, hands downThe only problem I had was poor packing, lolThe time I was given to load and unload my items (family of 6) was gold to meWorst the price

On November 8th, 2017, the delivery of ORDER #XXXXXX which was a 16' Container 8184Bcontaining my family's things was scheduled to be delivered in front of the apartment building which my mom would be moving intoThe time window arranged was from 7:- 10:30am
I arrived on the scene closer to 12pm as I'm commuting from Harlem hoping to catch everyone unloading the Pod when I saw no Pod & when I met my mother, my brother, and a couple folks from our church to help out, they confirmed that they haven't arrived yet
My mom calls the rep as to the whereabouts of the Pod and says that they needed a permit to do it, to which my mom was surprised as this is the first time

I opened a claim against PODS on September The reason was that my POD was dropped off damaged, it had been hit by a forklift Upon further inspection the POD had not been properly locked and was open for years I was never contacted so that I could rectify the problem of the lockThe unit had been relocated times and the door would slide open, that is how it was dropped off with the door half openThe POD was severely damaged and as well as the contents Everything removed from the POD was inspected I took several photo's of the damage After several attempts I finally was put in touch with Heather G She advised me of everything I needed to do to resolve this claim I sent the pictures and claim form Ms Gadvised me that she had not received the information I resent them times and advised her that everyone else was receiving the information Here is where I felt I was getting the run around I have consistently reached out to her and now she won't even re

PODS are in possession of my things and refuse to deliver them to my house in Yelm, WA despite it being advertised as a service area on the website

The PODS sales representative I worked with when moving from New York was very helpful but provided information in that he told me that PODS delivery was available in Bloomington, Indiana where I was moving but did not know specifically where I would be living But when arranging to have my PODS delivery to my new home learned that they did not provide service to Bloomington and that I would need to arrange for the PODS to be unloaded at the storage facility in Indianapolis So I had to hire a moving company after all which completely defeated the purpose I am very disappointed that the company allows sales and customer service representatives to lie in order to make their commissions
Customer service is very poor Wait times on the phone a very long and there is no way to access information otherwise I have an account online but there is no option for scheduling access to my PODS unless you can reach a customer service representative which is nearly impossible without spending a long long time on hold Yet, you must do so in advance which is frustrating with no way to do so
When I finally reached a customer service representative I was put on hold All I want is to schedule access to my PODS since they now say they cannot be delivered buy the original customer service person lied to me

Do not use their service because they quote you over the phone one price and then bill you a different amount

No invoice has ever been correct based on the initial amount presented to me on a recorded phone call In addition to that, on the initial phone call to schedule my dollar move I was told the monthly invoice amounts as well as the person stating that the price was inclusive of all tax Then he states "plus for monthly insurance." I would have never agreed to that, but based on the recorded call, he did say it, so I was stuck paying the fee every month because my account was on Auto Pay During this time, I was never mailed or emailed an invoice And any time I tried to access invoices on the website, I received an error that the invoice was "unavailable." When I finally had time to wait an hour on hold, I finally got them to remove the insuranceafter wasting $along the way Then, instead of crediting me, they charged me again Then I was charged a double monthly rental amount I called, as per usual and waited on

Container was dropped off in my driveway and very little attempt was made to pick it up and bring another one had to plead with the people on phone

made and nothing happenedHad to call several times to get an answer why no Swap to place and all they could do was offer me a date a week further out March So March a attempt was made to pick up the first container still as noticed by the gravel I put down but nothing completed nor did I get a reply to the effect
I believe this company is deliberately not doing way they are asked so, more rent can be charged

PODS refused to pick up POD moving container within the agreed upon time frame of 3-days Earliest pick up time was days POD already loaded and need to move my Friday Now I need to unload the POD, rent and load a truck and figure how to get the PODoff off of the property

PODS lost my container and gave wrong/inaccurate delivery dates on multiple occasions

Like so many frustrated customers here, I had a similarly bad experience with PODSfrom beginning to end and all along the way in betweenThe short of it consists of promises, unresponsive customer service, miscommunication, defensiveness and rationalization about their errors (without ever admitting or apologizing for anything large or small)
Some "favorite" moments of my experience included when I had a delivery driver rudely yell at me with expletives before hanging up on me because he didn't know how to pick up the POD that they had dropped off (fortunately one with greater skill and dexterity picked it up hours later), and an agent scold me by suggesting it was my responsibility to call her to remind her to send me reminders about itineraryNo really, you can't make this stuff up! I'd call it a "comedy of errors" if it didn't have a sticker price of nearly $5,Given the abysmally low level of professionalism, however, by the end I could only shake my head and laugh
I was moving from Canada to the USan admittedly complex scenario, given the border crossing, etc.however, the easiest and smoothest part of the move consisted of dealings with the US Customs and Border Protection ServicesThe government was able to efficiently and effectively process and move my goods across the border in a remarkably short amount of time; meanwhile, PODS fumbled at every step of the way, and then turned around to USE THE EXCUSE of crossing the border as justification for delays, missed dates, missing information about the whereabouts of my goods, and so on
The move cost much more than I originally expected due to various complications, and in the end I wish I had simply paid more for professional moversAt least initially I thought I might be compensated to some extent by PODS for the utter failure in service, but not only did they not offer any small amount of refund, they dug intractably in, holding to an utterly unapologetic positionAs my case got escalated and worked its way upward through the ranks, the level of customer service only worsenedOn this basis I cannot conclude other than that PODS's motto is: "the customer is never right, and we'll be sure to prove it!"so much seems to be the diktat from on high, and running through the ranks
At the very least, I had hoped they would have been willing and wanting to learn from the situation, but they were much happier to silence and get rid of meI am still sorting through the remarkable number of unintelligible invoiceswith item codes only translatable through an internal rubricand automatic charges to my credit card, so as to figure out whether I was not only provided with a falsely advertised service (a "stress-free move"!irony of ironies, given I've moved times in my life across three continents and never had a more stressful move!) but was ripped off in the process
And lo, in bureaucratic-techno-speak languagewhether by email, or in response to the complaints made herePODS will suggest: "With receipt of this correspondence PODS Enterprises, LLC considers this matter resolved."
Such a vacuous and utterly self-serving statement that disregards any details or particulars for bad experiences tells you EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW about this utterly non-customer-service-oriented 'organization.'
I strongly advise you to take your business and money elsewhere
