A previous visit from a My Plumber plumber did not result in their finding a replacement water heater which would fit in the space without construction. I ended up purchasing the water heater from Lowes which would fit the space without costly construction. But when the leaking intensified, with delivery of the new heater days away, I called My Plumber again for same-day service for advice on the intensifying leaking. The plumber, John M., was very knowledgeable, patient in explaining the problem and immediate resolution, friendly, and courteous. I wished that he had been the first plumber dispatched to my home.
Darrell T of My Plumber-VA/MD was here today to perform an HVAC inspection--he was professional and personal going beyond requirements. Although traffic delayed his arrival, he called to alert of the delay. He was easy to speak with, answered all questions and kept me apprised of what he was doing--great job!!
New to the Northern VA area, I called My Plumber for help with a failed air handler blower motor in Fall 2015. On arrival, they told me they had the proper motor model on the truck and that they would install in for $1359 (less a 7% discount). The one-hour long installation was acceptable, but the senior service tech said the HVAC needed replacement. Due to its age and use of Freon, I saw that as reasonable and asked them for a bid which was made a week later. I also solicited HVAC bids from three other local heating and cooling contractors. During this bid process, two facts became clear: (1) of the four bids, My Plumber was second highest and more than 150% higher than the two lower quotes, and (2) all three of the other similarly-sized plumber/HVAC bidders stated that the installed cost of the blower motor would be between $400 and $600. Furthermore, My Plumber offered to discount my HVAC purchase by the $1359 blower motor cost to incentivize me to give them more money.
Based on their competitors’ statements and what had become clear to be an inflated $1359 charge, I filed a written appeal with My Plumber CEO Wendell P[redacted] who passed the matter to one of his managers. That manager, after two months of negotiation, offered and paid $250 (20% of what I’d paid them) to “resolve” my complaint. From CEO P[redacted] to his “Reconcilation” Manager Harry W[redacted] I have come to know My Plumber as mendacious and unethical in treatment of customers. Be very wary of this firm, and I as being once burned will never use them again.
My plumber came to our home to repair a problem with our a\c unit. We were not informed about any additional costs associated with the repairs. He arrived on thurs. and replaced a motor which was leaking oil. In the process he could not get the a\c to work properly and began to remove wires from the circuit board which caused our thermostat and our air handler too short out causing smoke to flow through the basement and the first floor. He claimed that the circuit board was bad and he would need to order another one. He left and placed the order but called back stating that he was given the wrong piece. He said he could return until friday morning. Upon his arrival on Friday, he informed us that he could not finish the work unless he was paid in full. He was told that he would not be paid until the job was completed. He stated that his supervisor said this. I asked to speak with his supervisor but was told he was not in. The tech said his supervisor would call when he got in. He left to get coffee. He called back saying that he could not return until the entire cost was paid. I contacted the customer service department and was referred to the resolution mgr. He said he would review my info and speak to the tech. I was not contacted until Tuesday only after making numerous calls concerning my issue. I was told that the tech make allegations that we refused too pay, we had someone else come in and work on the unit, that he had informed me of up front payments, that he had not damaged any part of our unit all of which were not true as I have witnesses to what really happened. We are now waiting for a service manager to come out on Thursday to inspect what his tech claims. We know that this tech has lied about all which happened yet is claiming that we are at fault. All of the 100% guaranteed work promises by this company are false. We will not refer this company to anyone ever. We anticipate a day in court to resolve our issues with this tech and this company
Chris G did did a outstanding job replacing our water heater. He was on time and very professional! He informed us step by step what he was doing! He answered all of our questions! He cleaned up behind his work. He takes pride in his profession. My husband and I have had our experiences with plumbers and Chris G has totally raised the bar! Excellent work!!!
On time with good representation of work estimate with warranty information on work to be accomplished. Joe L[redacted] had a great personality while on-site accomplishing work. Unit installed was an all brass unit upgrading my system by a great deal.
We needed a lot of well and inside plumbing upgrades. It took two days to complete and we are extremely pleased with the work done by Robert R. Should we need future plumbing work we will definitely use My Plumber and ask for Robert R. He did an excellent job; was very professional and diligent.

CJ (1103CL) has offered several options to fix my sink and tub as well as my older version (1963) toilet that was beginning to go bad. I like that he did not pressure sell any of the products and I was already aware that I might need to change things due to age and having problems. He is a very professional individual who knew his business and products. I will definitely have him back when I am at a better financial position to change out the old warren sink, toilet when I have the funds to do so.
