On August 26th, I contacted Just Answer for help with a computer issue. This issue was resolved by me paying $39.00 I did not sign up for a membership. On September 4, 2019, they deducted $46.00 from my accouint. On October 7th, another $46.00 and on November 2nd, another $46.00
I did not sign up for a membership. Their website says you have a 7 day free trial. I did not "opt-in" for a 7 day free trial.
By keeping my credit card on file and charging me for unauthorized services, they have commited theft.
Furthermore, their website is deceiving. This needs to be addressed. I demand reimbursement, as I never authorized this company to use my credit card. I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General.

Hello,

My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.

Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.

After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the discounted $1 question with the 7 day free trial membership. As with any membership or subscription trial, if you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service. Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an email is sent before your trial is ending.

Per our terms of service that you agreed to when you enrolled in the membership, the membership payment is not eligible for a refund as stated in section 10, subheading "Refunds, Cancellations, Abuse and Special Programs" as follows;

***

Although your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service, as a courtesy to you I can see that we have already refunded the membership payments for you on 11/3/19. The funds would have been made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.

I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

Justanswer lead me to believe I could pay $5 for a question and did not indicate by giving my CC information I would be charged a membership fee of $66.
Also the answer I paid for was not delt with.

Used justanswer for a question I had. $5 was the charge to ask the question for an answer. Just noticed they have been hitting my account for $34 each month since April. Called the company and was told they will only refund 3 months. They took $270 from my account and refunded only $102. They told me they sent an email telling me my trial period was over which I never received. But I received the emails on the refunds in my inbox. They still owe me $170. I want my money refunded

Revdex.com:
I'm happy to get full refund. All emails I have received from this company was on March 18th, although I have emailed many times up to 5 day after original email. Any emails I try to open say "can't reach this page" so I was unable to research. Don't understand, but happy with final outcome.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

Went to Microsoft for technical problem, was redirected to Justanswe*** (assumed it was a credible Microsoft company)
Paid $1.o via credit card for solution. Initial expert couldn't solve issue-was offered free second opinion (see attached email from Justanswe***) this person solved the problem. Since my credit card statement shows payments that I have not authorized. I DID NOT sign up for membership but have been charged for it regardless.

I was not informed about this payment or making me a paid member in that site. I need full refund of my money. Please help.

I agreed to pay Just Answer a $5 for a trial membership allowing me to ask a question to a mechanic.
I sent specific questions and information to justanswer. The reply that I got did not answer the questions and advised me that I needed to supply the information in a different format. Based on the type of response I decided not to pursue the question further and that JustAnswer would not meet my needs so the trial did not work out.
Today I received a $49 dollar charge on my credit card for a membership. I spoke with just answer customer support and they advised me that the membership billing was automatic after 7 day trial. I reviewed the emails from just answer and there is no mention of a requirement to advise them not to bill. I am seeking a refund of the membership fee. I was not informed in any of the email dialogue about the pending charge. I spoke with customer service and was advised that this information was on their web page. I cannot find it but accept that it might be there. I informed just answer that even if this was a mistake and I had no intention of using the service as it did not meet my needs. I contend that Just Answer is engaging in unethical practices by requiring positive confirmation to NOT bill and they are not informing the customer of this "detail" but instead relying on people being unaware. I contend that even if I misunderstood the billing process, that JustAnswer should refund the membership because I have informed them of the error and my intention not to use the service.
JustAnswer is proud of their standing with the Revdex.com but based on my experience, I dont think they have good customer service and is really a scam that relies on fine print in the billing to make money rather than be dedicated to provide the service they are stating they provide.

I just wanted to ask one question, so I agreed to pay the $1.00 and they answered my question. I have been deleting emails from then since, as they keep pestering you with emails. Now I am hit with a $28 charge that I never agreed to. I guess it was hidden somewhere in the fine print. If they had just been up front and asked for the $28 to start with would be better then tricking you into a scam for $1.00.

Hello ***,
Thank you for contacting JustAnswer.
We're sorry for any inconvenience. It looks like you accepted a trial offer to try our membership program. At the end of the trial, the membership bills automatically to avoid disruptions in service. I have opted you out of the membership.
As a courtesy, I have processed a refund of your most recent charge. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy. I assure you that moving forward you will not see any recurring membership charges. Your account is now on a pay-per-question basis and you will only be charged when you post a question.
If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

*** I am happy to get my money returned to me I would like to add that their response to my complaint is absoutly unacceptable I did not agree to a 7 day trial of any kind or agreed to a membership that authorized this buissness to remove any money from my account and your as a courtesy to me youll refund the money you stole from me to begin with is a joke the sheer volume of complaints here and other consumer agencys should have your underhanded buissness practices shut down or make you be completly forthcoming in bold print before anyone puts in their card information what their about to authorize your company to do myself and people before me are not wrong your hidden terms and authorizations you say I gave you werent there in the open and a buissness that operates as you do with as many complaints that you get like mine should lower your rating substancially enough to make you change your policy of robbing people stop completly to become a buissness that actually deserves an a plus rating your theives and should be shut down thank you Revdex.com for helping me in this matter I truly appreciate it

I entered my credit card information to pay $5 to get an answer on one question this March, that was their big headline ads, then I forgot about this since I believed this is a one-time charge, and after all this time I found out that they charged me $46 every month for so-called membership ever since then, the last charge was on 10/26/2019. They charged me for 7 months! I was shocked and called their customer service and they said that I agreed to sign up for the membership when I entered my credit card information!

I never received any emails from them, no invoices, no renewal confirmation, nothing during this whole time! but their customer service claimed that their emails were for sure sent and if I never received one it's none of their business.

also, even they have a clear record shows that I never used their service ever since, that it's clearly a mistake, they refused to do anything.

Plus, they don’t put their log in button on their homepage, that tricks customers to sign up for a new account every time, you will think that since it’s one time charge, it doesn’t matter…but tell you what, they charge membership from both of your account!

when I “very difficultly” log into the account, I can’t see any order history under my account, so I got no confirmation number or order number on this “subscription” from the website, they charged me for 7 months but no such history on the website under “my account” they hide everything that you hardly know you are being robbed by them!

so, they scheme the customers into subscribing to their subscription, hide all the important information from the user, then they surely haven't made enough or no efforts to make sure customers get receipt or confirmation emails, and they blame everything to the customers and refused to do anything on this even though I didn't use any of their services...

they make the loopholes and exploit big advantages out of it! I found already hundreds of complaints here on Revdex.com about the same charge problem and many more articles online that consumers complained about this company upon similar issues!

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

I called Just Answer for a technical assistance matter related to my home telephone system. The agent was able to resolve my problem quickly and thoughtfully. It cost me $1.50, which I understood is the low introductory price.
A week or so later (October 18) I received an e-mail from Just Answer informing me that I needed to sign up for regular membership by October 21 in order to keep my eligibility for the service provided by Just Answer. I was not interested in continuing the service, so I ignored the invitation. NOWHERE in that email was I warned that if I didn't specifically opt out by October 21, I would automatically be charged $46.00 by Just Answer!

This feels like a scam to me: As if I walked into a store to purchase a candy bar for $1.50, and did not see on the bottom of the receipt the warning (in small print) that if I did not contact the store directly, informing them that I was no longer interested in buying their candy, I would be subject to a monthly charge of $46.00, which would entitle me to further candy purchases.

At the VERY LEAST, that October 18 email should have restated that October 21 was not only the date by which I needed to sign up--but more importantly, it would have said specifically that I was going to be charged unless I specifically opted out of my membership in their service.

They have charged me $46.00 for a service I did not wish to purchase. I believe I have been scammed. I want you to know about their practices.

Have others filed similar complaints?

I needed help with something last year and I can't even remember what it was for. I used the company to get a question answered and paid with my credit card. Upon a careful review of my credit card charges, I noticed they had been billing me every month for over a year. I had no idea they were going to do this and now I have lost over $300 on this thing. It appears the bills began in September of last year.

This company is very misleading in how much they charge. They say its $5 for a question. Then they end up after a 7 day trial membership the I did not consent to decide to charge my credit card $52. I went back to the website to see where it states anything about this membership and unless you look under Help Center you would never know you were signing up for a membership. They should tell you in the "How it Works" tab. THEY ARE SCAMMING people for a membership they do not explain to you that you are signing up for.

Hello James,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We're sorry for any confusion about the payment for the site.
The membership charge amount and information is presented to all customers on the payment page prior to entering any billing information. After the question is posted and the membership is agreed to, we send a receipt E-mail, as well as a payment reminder E-mail, 3-days prior to any recurring billing.
In looking into your account, we can see that one of the Customer Care agents has already issued a refund for the recent membership charge.
Please reach out to us if you need any further assistance and we're happy to help in any way we can.
Regards,
JustAnswer Customer Care

I gave them my credit card info for the answer to a question and 1 week trial membership. I promptly cancelled the membership the very next day, using their link to do so. They then charged me $30 for each of the following months. When I called an employee named ROME told me that I was never charged. I filed a complaint with my credit card company.

Hello John,
Thank you for reaching out to us about your account and the membership billing.
In looking into the account, it appears that the membership billing was cancelled on 10/3/2019. We don't currently have any record of any prior attempt to cancel the membership, but if you have a record of an attempt to reach out to us, we're happy to issue a refund for any charges in that period.
We've reached out to you privately to gather more information.
Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
Regards,
JustAnswer Customer Care

I entered my credit card information to pay $5 to get an answer on one question this March, that was their big headline ads, then I forgot about this since I believed this is a one-time charge, and after all this time I found out that they charged me $46 every month for so-called membership ever since then, the last charge was on 10/26/2019. They charged me for 7 months! I was shocked and called their customer service and they said that I agreed to sign up for the membership when I entered my credit card information!

Even let's say there's a chance that I missed their teeny tiny letters of "explaining" this is a membership subscription! After that I never received any emails from them, no invoices, no renewal confirmation, nothing! but their customer service claimed that their emails were for sure sent and if I never received one it's none of their business.

also, even they have a clear record shows that it's a mistake, shows that I never used their service during this period, they refused to do anything!

Plus, they don’t put their log in button on their homepage, that tricks customers to sign up for a new account every time, you will think that since it’s one time charge, it doesn’t matter…but tell you what, they charge membership from both of your membership!

when I “very difficultly” log into the account, I can’t see any order history under my account, so I got no confirmation number or order number on this “subscription”, they hide everything that you hardly know you are being robbed by them!

so, they trick the customers into subscribing to their subscription, hide all the important information from the user, then they surely haven't made enough or no efforts to make sure customers get invoice emails or confirmation emails, and they blame everything to the customers and refused to do anything on this even though I didn't use any of their services...

this kind of business should be exposed to the consumers! they make the loopholes and exploit big advantages out of it rather than honestly gain their money from their service! I found many more articles online that consumers complained about this company upon similar issues too, this should be brought into attention!

Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.

After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the discounted $5 question with the 7 day free trial membership. In order to post your question, you would have had to click the button to accept the 7-day free trial. As with any membership or subscription trial, if you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service. Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an email is sent before your trial is ending. The login button is on our front page, anytime you go to www.justanswer.com, you click login and enter your email address and password. Once logged in you can go to my account and there you can view the status of your account, membership as well as a list of your questions and payments.

Per our terms of service that you agreed to when you enrolled in the membership, the membership payment is not eligible for a refund as stated in section 10, subheading "Refunds, Cancellations, Abuse and Special Programs" as follows;

I have the same problem I see with so many other people with the Justanswer site. I went on the site and it said for $1.00 I could get a 7 day free trial to get my answer. So of course you have to give them your credit card info. Once that was done a guy came on and told me the answer to my question would cost $34.00 so I said no thanks the question isn't that important. So I thought that would be the end of it. But no, A couple days later they charged my bank account for the $34.00. I contacted them and they said they had no refund policy, Well isn't that convenient. After several attempts they said they would talk to the administration about it. But nothing has happened. I think this is a scam, They take your credit card info. under false pretenses.
Then bilk your account.

I contacted JustAnswer regarding a technical/computer issue. The website said the charge would be $1 and the answer wasn't even worth a dollar. The website said it was refundable but it wasn't worth my time to request a refund.

I get a notice from my credit card company advising me of a $46 charge to my credit card by JustAnswer and a $1 charge for the.trial question. I did not authorize this $46 charge and I want the $46 charge removed from my credit card. This is nothing but a scam and their answers are a joke.

Please advise.

Revdex.com:

With the assistance of a CSR with my credit card company I was able to speak with Gian at JustAnswer and he approved a $46 credit to my credit card because I did not authorize the membership charge. The credit was issued to my card and I am satisfied. However,I would not reccommend anyone using JustAnswer to resolve a problem.

Please reference complaint ID

Just answer canceled my so called future membership fees, but will not refund me my $46.00. States that I am past my 7 days. Online it says they will refund 30days.
