Hello,

My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.

Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.

After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the discounted $1 question with the 7 day free trial membership. As with any membership or subscription trial, if you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service. Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an email is sent before your trial is ending.

Although your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service, as a courtesy to you we have refunded the membership payment for you. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day; however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.

I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

Best regards,

I don't know who this company is. I contacted their 800 # to tell them that. I cancelled any transactions with my bank. A month later they're charging me again - this is a new credit card they didn't have. They are now harrassing and billing people who have no relationship to their business. This is beyond ridiculous. Every month I have to go to my bank and work this out??

I went to Microsoft for a technical question and was forwarded to JustAnswer. They showed clearly that I would be charged $1 which would be refunded shortly. I had my question answered that day. Later on, I checked my card to find that, not only was the $1 not refunded, but there was an additional charge for $46 which I had not authorized. I contacted JustAnswer and they have canceled my membership to prevent any further charges, but are unwilling to refund the original $46. I am upset as I feel that I was mislead into purchasing a membership that I had no intention of buying, or any need for.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made to me by JustAnswer. Although I am happy to be refunded my money, I am still unhappy with their advertising practices which are misleading and deceptive. I am accepting their response as I do not see anything else that I can do but I hope they will still consider revising their page to be more clear as to what their customers are agreeing to.

Sincerely

I feel that JustAnswer is just another way to get your credit card number to steal from you with a smile on their face. After trying to even remember what my question was for them I finally realized that they were very slick to get money from me without even knowing it. Pay a very small fee to use their site and then start charging for a membership (so to speak) that you never asked for. After finding there charges on my checking account for a couple times I notified them and asked why and all I kept getting for an answer was you asked a question. I didn't feel for a minute that I gave them a blank check each month. When I told their agent I wasn't happy about this she just stopped the conversation and hung up the phone.I feel the money they took from me from the start till now should be returned without question. I paid for my first question and never expected to be continually being charged $53.00 a month for nothing. To me JustAnswer is nothing more than a thief.

Went to Apple for technical support with my IPhone and was directed to Just Answer Me. I paid $1.00 via my debit care for help. The website said the charge would be $1.00 and it would be refundable (it was not).
The Expert *** from JustAnswer sent instructed me as to what to do but I wasn't able to access the information. I said as much, thanked him but said I would go to the Apple Store. His response was ""Okay. I respect your decision, You're welcome, Have a great day. And thanks for choosing us as your advisory partner." I checked my bank statement today and I have a charge for $46.00 from JustAnswer. I did not authorize the charge not did I sign up for membership with this company. When I called was informed that they were unable to refund me. I asked that my unauthorized membership to be canceled immediately. This is a scam. Please advise.

This Company advertises that it is a $5 trial for 7 days. Their advertising claims you can cancel at any time but It does not make clear the process of cancellation after the 7 days. I tried to cancel my membership via the myjustanswer account page and it did not cancel my membership claiming there is a wait time of several days. This company does not say how much you will be billed when you sign up and the $15 that it advertised for membership showed up as $46 on my bank statement! Before I was aware that I was being charged for this, I had been billed twice. They also claim that they notify the client before they would be billed. After searching my Junk mail I did receive something for the first month but again not clear on the Cancel at any time claim! No further emails were sent to me so unless I checked my statement I would continue to be billed unknowingly. A call to customer service was a lecture of their non refundable Policy. I was one day late in cancelling my second charge which being non refundable gives me access for a month of useless service I will never use! I consider this a very misleading business and a TRAP for people who may not have access to affordable healthcare. I visited and payed for the free trial for advice to see if I needed a doctors visit. Shame on them!

I used Just Answer a month ago. They charged me $45 for an answer from an expert. That was that. I had no idea they were thinking I wanted a continuing membership, which I did not. A membership charge appeared in my bank account today. I can't afford a $45 ongoing membership and don't want one anyway. I went to the Just Answer website to find a way to cancel. The chat icon appeared. So I asked a question. There was an error and they asked me to refresh the page to clear the error. I did so. But when I went back to the website no matter what I did the chat window appeared and I couldn't access anything else. Every time I tried to ask about canceling in the chat window, the same error appeared. I could not use the website at all. So not only did they charge my bank account for a continuing membership, but the website is of no use to me in trying to cancel the account.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

Company is a scam. Website is misleading doesn't tell you will be charged 40 dollars for one question. Don't understand how this isn't illegal. They obviously know is misleading to tell ppl is 5 dollars for a question. Can't believe I'm out 40 dollars for a question which the guy wasn't even an expert and just a random guy.

JustAnswer Response • Nov 18, 2019

Hi there ***,
Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We're sorry for any confusion.
It looks like you opted into the membership when you posted our initial question, this was what the most recent charge was about.
The Expert that you spoke to about your vehicle is actually an ASE certified mechanic that owns his own shop. At JustAnswer, we actually don't allow just anyone to answer questions. All Experts have their required licensing, certification, experience or Education verified by an independent 3rd party organization.
As a gesture of goodwill, we've gone ahead and cancelled your membership and issued a refund for the most recent transaction.
Regards,
JustAnswer Customer Care

My issues are with me not you guys I am on limited income and made a mistake thinking I could pay 40 plus dollars extra a month I did my budget and knew I just cant afford that amount of money each month sorry its my fault not yours

The experts were very prompt and solved my issues within 20 min. Will definitely use again.

was extremely proficient. He walked me through steps that fixed my problem and saved me well over a hundred dollars. I will use 'Just Answer' again.

was very helpful in my PC dilemma and assured me what I was seeing was a scam. Thanks ***!

is very knowledgeable, patient and thorough. He is a gem.

I couldn't be happier! Any time I've asked they've given me the answers I needed in a very prompt response.
Thx JustAsk!

Their good, very helpful.. thank you..hope I don't have anymore issues, but if I do, then I'll know how to get a quick answer

Amazing service. It will teach you a lot of things and guide you to take a better decision.

Absolutely love it this is the best to answer all questions

My first request was handled very well. Good information and a document to back it up. The second request is still to be answered but in all fairness, the problem may just as well be my fault. The third request was not as good as the first as one statement contradicted another. Left me more confused than when I started. I plan to keep the service at least for one more month.

I was happy with the quick response. The second doctor I heard from hit the nail on the head. I followed her advice and Lacie is doing just fine. It just had to run its course. Unfortunately I do not want to join "Just Answer" as I can't afford it. I am an 80 year old widow and really have to watch my payments. I appreciate the help I received but please cancel my temporary membership which I paid $5.00 for. Do NOT charge my account for the supposedly $28 a month or any other amount.
I will contact my bank this morning to tell them not to accept any further charges from you.Thank you.
