About a month ago, I sign up for a $5 trial. They didn't tell me how much it was for a month and they charged my bank account 28.95 2 times and I asked for a refund and they said I was not eligible for a refund. I copied the terms on a word program and it doesn't say how much the monthly bill was. this is deception to the customer. The customer representative stated it depends on the customers need is how they charge you. I haven't used the service since the trial. I just found out today by looking at my online banking. I feel like I have been deceived and taken advantage of.
Hello,
My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.
Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.
After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the discounted $5 question with the 7 day free trial membership. As with any membership or subscription trial, if you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service. Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an email is sent before your trial is ending.
Although your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service, as a courtesy to you we have refunded the membership payments for you. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day; however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.
I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.
Best regards,
Ms. Chase

JustAnswer.com promoted their $5 for 1 week trial with promise to remind me about deadline to cancel the trial membership. They never did. When I called them to find out why, their representative told me that I was supposed to receive their automatic email 3 days before the deadline, which I never received. JustAnswer.com charged my credit card for $34, and refused to refund it. Also they advertise 24/7 service, but it took more than 12 hours to receive the very first answer to my sole question. The answer they provided was correct, but it came too late, and not worth $39.

It is alleged that I opened an account on this website, and publicly asked an incredibly damaging question regarding My Attorney lying to a Federal Judge. The question was published, supposedly answered, and published on their website. I only became aware of this because they charged my visa-debit a reoccurring Subscription fee. The business has been unwilling to provide an email copy of the Q&A, but have read it over the phone to both myself & a Rep from my financial institution, Alaska USA FCU. They have not provided any of the documentation promised, and repeatedly been untruthful about the date the Acct was opened, first it was November 2018, now March 20, 2019. My bank demonstrates the November 2018 date as accurate. I am involved in an acrimonious civil suit with my estranged spouse, and have legal representation. The ONLY reason this question would be publicly asked by anyone, is to call into question the veracity of my legal counsel. This company has repeatedly promised to provide all documentation related to this account and not done so. They credit my bank 90 days of refund: That isn’t satisfactory, nor does it represent the scope of the subscription or the comprehensive information provided to them, that I did NOT OPEN this account nor ask any question or seek any legal advice via their website.

Rip off. They did not answer my initial question for $5 and without me aware they charged me $28/month thereafter for last year. Beware of sneeky small print! Very Unsatisfied !!! Would only refund me for last 3 months and not the full year of charges that I was not aware I would be charged for in visiting their site once.
On 9/25/2019 I had gone on Justasnwer*** and I paid $7.00 to ask a question. There was nowhere on the screen that said I would go on a free trial membership. After my question and answer were accepted Justanswer*** took $7 out of my account. Today 11/7/2019 I checked my bank account and it showed over $40 was taken out. I emailed Justanswer*** and the Customer Care rep *** said I am not eligible for a refund. I asked *** why I am not eligible for a refund. I got an email from April they said for the cost of $5.00 new visitors will post a question and receive a 7-day trial membership. This email did not make sense because I am not a new Customer. I have been a customer since 2013.
Justanswer*** never sent me an email stated I am on a 7-day trial membership. They never emailed me and said my trial membership will end. If they did put me on a 7-day trial membership back in September why did Justanswer*** waited two months later to end my 7-day trial membership and not October?
Hi ***
Thank you for visiting us at JustAnswer and we received your refund request earlier today.
I’ve taken a look at your account and unfortunately you are not eligible for a refund, however, we can certainly move forward with your request to cancel your membership preventing any future charges from occurring.
Before we move forward with the cancellation, we would love the chance to demonstrate the value of our service to you by extending the current membership month by 30 days. Let us know what you think about our offer. Of course, if you’d like to know more about the service or about your account, you're welcome to contact us as well. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi ***
Thank you for writing back.
We can certainly appreciate the concerns you have regarding the charges associated with your account, and we wanted to take some time to clarify our billing system.
For the cost of $5, new visitors will post a question and receive a 7-Day Trial Membership that automatically transitions into a full membership after the 7th day. Membership fees of $46 are collected each month until our member decides to cancel their membership. The cost of the Full Membership, along with the details of the trial period are outlined and displayed on the same page where you submit your billing information, just before you post your question. There is no obligation whatsoever, and the membership can be canceled at any time. We hope this helps to clear up any confusion you may have had regarding your charges.
Furthermore, I have processed your request and you may still post questions at no additional cost until the end of your billing cycle on 12/6/2019. Once your billing cycle ends, your account will revert to a pay-per-question basis and you will only be charged when you post a question.
If you would like to reactivate your membership feature, you may contact us for assistance.
If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.
Regards,
April

I signed up for the free trial and my question was answered. I like the service but wanted to find out what does the membership cost. After searching online and calling their tech support company, I have been told they charge $52 a month and that they dont market that at all. I promptly canceled my subscription and reached out to my credit card advising them that I do not authorize any other charges. The person that answered my question seemed smart and did help me. It is a shame that someone like that is on a company that is scamming people with smoke and mirrors.
Clearly post the prices and you will have less time wasted for customers. Less screwing of customers for the membership price, but if you have to screw people into a membership, you shouldn't be in business.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
somehow was outed to Just Answer by Xfinity regarding an e-mail connection issue. I agreed to a chat regarding the issue and a charge of $1 with $0.50 going to 5 charities and option to initiate membership following the chat. Answer to my issue was to refer me back to Xfinity customer service. I discontinued the chat indicated on the site that I was unwilling to subscribe to membership and aldo clicked the unsubscribe link on the site. Soon after, I received an e-mail from a *** (Sr. Director of Customer Service) requesting my feedback. I responded indicating that I was totally dissatisfied with the experience and that I which dot have all my contact information scrubbed from their files. Approximately 8-10 days later (Nov. 5, 2019) a charge for $40 was posted to my VISA credit card. This was unauthorized by me. Today (Nov. 6, 2019) I contacted Just Answer customer service to have the charge removed. Agent indicated that she could not do that. I requested to speak to a supervisor and was placed on a 5 minute hold. Upon return the agent indicated that a supervisor would CALL me within 15-20 minutes. No call was received. Instead, I received an e-mail from a *** indicating that membership has been cancelled but did affirm that $40 charge reversal would take place. I reposed to the e-mail indicating that I needed verification of the charge reversal. Have not received any acknowledgement that charge reversal had or would take place. The manner that this request was handled indicates to me that it is basically a scam.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, the practice of imposing an "illusory" automatic 1-month subscription charge is definitely a practice that the vendor should address.

Deceptive business tactics! I wanted an answer to a question and paid for that in September. Company Tricked me into signing up for a membership which I find out now has to be cancelled online in order to avoid charges. Company started to automatically charge me without making that clear to me $60/mo

JustAnswer charged my credit card after I cancelled the service TWICE. This - and not the quality of their answers is why a lot of us are giving low ratings.
I signed up for the trial period for $5 to see if the service would be useful for computer problems. They were nice and handled the question well enough I guess. (They had no useful information about the problem, but oh well. This was a last ditch effort.) I decided to cancel the membership because they didn't really help me and it was a one-off question. I knew I wouldn't be using it again - and certainly not monthly. So, I cancelled the service a few days later (before the trial was up). The last day of the trial period I freaked out and called them again. They reassured me that I had already cancelled the service and had nothing to worry about. They said I would not be assessed any additional fees. A month later I got a $46 membership fee charged to my account. NOW GET THIS. I went online to look at my credit card (for a different reason) and my account was flagged for potentially fraudulent activity. I couldn't even look at my account until I dealt with what my bank perceived of as fraud. Sure enough they had flagged the JustAnswer charge as potentially fraudulent. I can't believe that after calling them twice to cancel and getting reassurances that they still charged my card a month later. I am guessing the bank has had enough people complain that they didn't even let it go through. Thank you, bank!
I used this service back in May 2019, promptly got my answer, and then emailed support to cancel out my subscription. Three months later, in reviewing my finances, I see that they never cancelled. I then email in late August to flag the issue and request a refund, as I hadn't logged in (thinking that it was in fact cancelled). I then get a bounceback from the company saying they couldn't receive the email due to the servers being misconfigured. Yesterday (November), I go back in and notice another charge. This is a SCAM company. I contacted customer support via phone and they tell me the best they can do is refund from August on, as that's when they received my cancellation.
TOTAL SCAM. Then, I go online into Google, search for "JustAnswer Scam", and what do you know... several others have had similar issues. Avoid at all costs.
I knowingly signed up for a 7 day trial with my credit card and used their phone call service with a lawyer, which I paid $59 for. I was satisfied with my answer, so I cancelled the service right after through their website/my account because I had no reason to keep using it, and I'm well aware of the "sign up with your credit card" scam.
g move.
Big mistake. I should have sent them an email so I had proof of a cancellation request. Three months went by and I was charged $53 each month for their membership for a total of $159. Why would I pay for a $53 membership with unlimited phone calls 7 days after I paid $59 for one phone call? When I called them, they basically said, "You didn't cancel. Do you have proof? No? Bye."
Below are a few more examples of their shady business:
1. When I logged into my account and viewed my order history, none of the three $53 charges were there, only the $59 phone call charge and $5 trial fee.
2. You don't receive any emails after the paid membership begins. Literally none because it will remind you to check your membership. You receive one vague email about membership benefits that doesn't explicitly say you are now a member and are paying for it, which they know will probably go to the junk/spam folder. Then no communication whatsoever afterwards. The only email I received from them after that vague email was when I called them to cancel and refund.
3. They don't encrypt their emails (a red crossed out lock shows up next to their email address in my gmail), which is very standard for any legitimate email service provider, which makes them more likely to go to the junk folder, which means you probably won't see it.
4. Just relying on the technicality of - "you signed up for it, we don't care if you haven't used our service in 3 months, you're paying for all 3 months" - is such a s
5. When you call them, the first option is billing, then the first option on the next step is refund requests... They must get a lot of refund requests, and the support employee clearly does not care at all.
this company advertised a 7 day trial for 1$, I signed up for the trial, and at the bottom of the page it said that "we'll notify you once your trial is up" I never received notification of the end of trial, and truth be told forgot I had even signed up for it. I got a notification from my bank app that I was charged, went to check this charge and saw a 29.00$ membership fee from this company. I attempted to dispute through them however was given the run around, told that they had an email in their records stating I was notified, which I wasn't, I specifically checked the date they say the emailed me and I have zero emails from them. They also proceeded to tell me that the membership fee is "non-refundable" I tried to speak to a supervisor who again, gave me the same run around and blamed me for not having the terms of service to review. I will be contacting my bank regarding the charges and hope for resolution with them, otherwise this company has essentially stolen from me

I cancelled my membership before it was cancelled and because of technical difficulties it didn't go through and I was charged the $35. Spoke to someone and they said I was approved for a one-time courtesy refund and never got it. Called back and they said I will never get the refund. All lies!! They don't respect the customer and just want to take your money even when you didn't use your account. Spoke to *** the manager and he didn't help at all. Very disappointed and lack of respect. I would give 0 stars!!!!!
After 7/8 phone calls I'm still not anywhere. They don't have a real estate attorney? They promise a call in about 10 minutes. I'm on day 5. If I could give them less of a score I would.
I changed phone companies & *** told me I was forced to use this company to get back on line for messenger service. It was suppose to be a trial & I was suppose to get my $1 back. I cancelled the trial on the same day it started. I also responded that I didn't want any more correspondence from them. They continue to send emails and have informed me they will charge me $46 in 2 days!

JustAnswer*** had a $1.00 trial offer.
I cancelled their service within the 1-week offer period, but they claim that I did not, and started charging me a $40 monthly fee for their service, which I did not want and have not used.
.
They have now agreed to cancel the monthly subscription, but still refuse to make a refund of the extra $80 they have already billed to my credit card.
I wish that I had known about the many complaints about similar problems encountered by other users.
If I had, I would have never been caught-up in their system.

I used Just Answer just one day (8/14/2019), which required becoming a member. I did not intend to continue as a member, but failed to cancel the membership -- my fault. As a result, I was charged $40 per month ($120 total) before I realized my error and canceled. The Just Answer website states that the cost of membership is $28/mo. I called to ask why I was charged $40/mo., and was told the charge depends one the nature of the question I had asked. This is clearly a ripoff, as there is no such qualification on the website.

I used this site to answer one question for $5.00 and found I was charged a membership fee of $34.00 each month without any e-mails since my $5 question that wasn't answered correctly. Now I find in my past bank statements that I've been charged for 6 months at $34.00 per month so I'm out $204 but upon calling and complaining I have 3 months returned so I'm only out $104.00. The fine print of a lengthy contract in section 10 states that I somehow created a monthly charged account.
Justanswer also states "JustAnswer will send at least one email notice of upcoming auto-renewal prior to auto-renewing your membership" but I never received any. I could have stopped this membership fee months ago. Please read this contract carefully to make sure you just wanted a one answer charge since they make it very difficult.
I cancelled my membership on 5TH July 2019, but they still have got the payment for 3 months, I have cancellation approve e-mail from July, they are not accepting their fault. This is totally fraud. I requested my money back, but they did not care at all. I am reporting them to Bank and Mastercard for blacklist.
they took $34.00 off my visa, not authorized
