Had a computer program freeze on me. was offered a $5 trail which I accepted. To my delight I received immediate instructions on how to fix the program. Very efficient would use Just Answer again.

I called just answer to cancel services several months ago and they are still charging me. I called today and they had no record of my calling before and refused to refund me. I had to call my bank to stop payment and have them look into it.

Hello,

My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.

Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.

After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the discounted $5 question with the 7 day free trial membership. As with any membership or subscription trial, if you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service. Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an email is sent before your trial is ending.

Per our terms of service that you agreed to when you enrolled in the membership, the membership payment is not eligible for a refund as stated in section 10, subheading "Refunds, Cancellations, Abuse and Special Programs" as follows;

***

Although your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service, as a courtesy to you we have refunded the remaining membership payments for you. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.

I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

Best regards,

In order to get any help from them you have to give them $1 which is supposedly refundable. I had a problem with a TV and gave them my info for the dollar. I was then told for $20+ I could get more help. I never received ANY help. In fact I was on hold for a half hour before I was cut off. Today they have submitted a charge for $46 to my bank account. They cut me off of the help line after they got my information. In order to get any help from their site with this, they expect you to give them another $1 and the whole process would no doubt, result in the same thing!!!

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

I contacted Just answer online to ask a legal question because the ad stated that it would only cost
$5.00.I did not contract for a membership. Then my monthly statements form my bank indicated that my account had been debited for $53.00 dollars. My account was debited on July 29th and August 25th.
Next, I reached out to my bank to resolve the issue but was told to contact Just Answer. When I contacted Just answer, a customer service representative explained to me that an email was sent to me twice to decline the membership. She said because I did not reply to the e-mail that is when just answer initiated the membership process.I think Just answer deals in trickery and I am a senior citizen and do not check my e-mail on a daily basis. Therefore, the customer service representative told me that she could not refund my $106.00.I summarize that my money has been taken for a service that I did not receive and I did not need a membership with Just Answer. The debit was from my Bank Of America Visa ***Since then Bank Of America has issued me a new Visa Card to stop the recurring fees.I am requesting you to ask Just answer to send my refund to my mailing address.

Thanking you in advance for your assistance.

My computer was acting up so somewhere around 10/3 I went online and found Just Answer Experts. They advertised $1 to get answers. I filled out the forms and included my CC information for the $1 charge. While still online I received a text message from my bank asking if I had authorized a $39 from Just Answer. My immediate answer was no and I ended my computer session. I also told my bank to block any further charges. Today, 10/7 I received yet another message from my CC company asking if I approved a $46 from Just Answers. I again said that I had not authorized this and had alerted them about these bogus charges. There were 6 other charges ranging from $.10 to larger amounts. The bank closed that account and will issue me a new credit card. These people should be shut down.

I supplied my credit card information for a $5 purchase from Just Answer on March 31, 2018. I was unaware that the purchase automatically enrolled me into a membership agreement with the company - one that involves recurring $46 monthly charges to my credit card account!

I submitted a complaint via the company's website on October 4, 2019. The estimated time indicated for a response was four hours. It's now been three days.

Are you able to intervene on my behalf?

Thank you!

I signed up for a $5 charge to use their on line service. It was not clear that this was for a 7 day trial only and that my credit card would be charged a monthly service fee.

Although my computer issue was not solved using their service, I was charged a monthly fee of $46 since April.

I was never notified the membership fee was being implemented and was not aware until I was checking my recent credit card statement. I never used the service other than the initial contact.

After contacting their customer service they refunded 3 months of the membership fee.

They refused to refund the other 3 months of membership fees which I did not use. They stated this was their policy and they could not change it.

Their bait and switch policy of implementing a membership fee after 7 days borders on being unethical.

I have contacted this business and have got no where with this issue. They have just charged my account $40.00 for a membership that my account stated was cancelled On 9-23-19. On 9-15-19 I paid $10.00 for a 7 day trial membership for answers concerning my Toyota. This website makes you leave a card on file and I cannot remove it. On 9-23-19 when I went to my "Justanswer" account, it stated "membership cancelled" as they were unable to charge my card on file, which I did on purpose. I went to their website to check my account on 2 additional occasions to make certain membership was cancelled. My account stated it was. Since that time, after I believed everything was okay, on 10-4-19 they successfully charged my account for the $40.00. I am wanting a refund and my membership permanently cancelled. I have since closed that card.

On 9/29 when your membership charge was due, the charge was rejected due to insufficient funds. On that day, you contacted us about updating your password through chat, but did not mention cancelling the membership. When a membership payment is rejected, the site will automatically try again in a few days to attempt to avoid an interruption in the customer's membership, which is why you were charged a few days later. Although your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service, as a courtesy to you we have refunded the membership payment for you. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy. Additionally, I've removed your credit card information from our system.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USE THIS SERVICE. I contacted JustAnswer for advice about my cat. I was told by the online chat that popped up that I was entitled to a free trial. I agreed and provided my credit card number in order to get the answer I needed. THE GOOD: I was connected immediately with a veterinarian. The vet was responsive and answered my question. THE BAD: I immediately canceled the trial so I wouldn't get charged. However, I noticed on my next credit card bill there were six separate charges from JustAnswer. One was for the trial in the amount of 50 cents. The other six were for 10 cents each for what appeared to be charities I had never heard of, including JUSTANSWER HOME4VETS, JUSTANSWER ENDHUNGER, etc. I never agreed to these charges and the small amount nevertheless makes me suspicious that JustAnswer was testing my credit card in order to later bill me for other charges I had not authorized. When I tried calling their 877 number I got a recording that the entire staff were out of the office in a meeting. SUMMARY: All in all seems like they provide a legitimate service but their business practices are at best sketchy and at worst approach a scam.

Well I am Not suprised to see that I am not alone with this free trail thing. I was charged 53 this morning for a membership that I dont want. I did use the sight and I got out of it what I needed. Thats it. I was charged for each question a lawyer answered. At this time in my life I also found out my father is not good. I have lost my job and trying to start a lawn service with already next to nothing for money. Also I have two grandchildren that stay with me and I have 3 four legged friends to care for.
Now after I talked to someone over the site about my question I was sent something to rate my experience. I hadnt checked my phone for a while because of the news of my father. When I checked my text messages there was a very rude text saying I was stopping this person from being paid. I was confused of course. So I replied and said I was truely sorry for my delay but dad was not well. This person said something like yeah right. WOW.. She said that I say to my self. so after a few more words my heart wants everyone happy. the person says the higher the rating you give the more money they get paid. so I gave a 5 star.
Now after that happened which was very rude and hope she doesnt tell someone else they not telling the truth. I have had $53 taken out of my account for meme=bership, I would have never agreed to Pay that. I dont have money to spend. also I was told there was a email sent stating they will withdraw 53 ...sorry to tell this web site and its rude repersentives that I have no email stating that. I need and want that money.

The website advertised $1 to ask one question, didn't mention anything about a subscription until after I paid the $1. At this point it stated I had signed up for a 7 day trial and would be automatically charged after those 7 days. I contacted them the same day, angry, and demanded they cancel my trial. I was told it was cancelled and I would not be charged. A week later, a charge for $46 appears on my bank statement. I contacted the company again, and have now been told by multiple people there that they won't refund my money. Basically they stole almost $50 from me.

They offered a $5.00 Trail. I spoke with once. The problem was above my skills so I said thank you. After that I replied I was not interested in there service and II was still Billed. After just reading the reviews I should read them first .The billed my Bank $28.00. As I hope the Revdex.com will do more then collect bad reviews on there billing .

This service charged me $59 dollars (I think) when I was in desperate help to get advice on my sick dog. In a panic, I signed up without reading the fact that I was signing up for a monthly fee of $29. They say they will not refund my payments. I have been getting charged for 4 months. What a scam!!! Honestly. Horrible business practices. I would never recommend using them.

I was dissatisfied with the service provided by just answer. I canceled the membership within my trial period. Now they are saying I never canceled the membership and have been billed a $28 fee for a membership I canceled. I just spoke to customer service today and they are refusing to refund money, stating, "you did not cancel your membership". Thankfully they did cancel the membership. Unfortunately, I am very busy and did not notice that I never received an email confirming the cancelation. Do not sign up with this company without knowing they are not honest.

One star for the $5. charge about repairing my oven , 56 negative stars for signing me up for a monthly fee without asking my permission and refusing to refund me. I will be contacting the Attorney General of MA !
Clearly this company is fishing and not clearly posting the fact that you are signing up for a membership.

I have a membership account with JustAnswer that is associated with an organization email I no longer have access to. I left said organization 2 days after posting this question. I paid the $1 fee to post a question with a 7-day free trial. However, I was unable to cancel the membership since I no longer had access to the email account associated with the membership. This always prevented me from seeing any reminder emails the company sent about cancelling my subscription. Upon seeing the membership charge on my bank statement, which had a post date for Sept. 30, 2019, I called the company to cancel my subscription (Sept 29, 2019). I spoke with a supervisor who said that she could not issue a refund, despite not having access to the associated account in order to cancel and the charge being posted (and still pending) after I cancelled the membership.

in response to their question: The email associated with the JustAnswer account is ***. However, I no longer have access to this email which is why I did not email from that email address.

Sincerely

Contacted JUST ANSWER site to ask a lawyer a legal question.
Paid $1 for a trial period of 7 days.
The promise was they would notify me before charging me monthly.
Paid $40 (I assume for the question, on 9/27/2019).
The question was answered to my satisfaction.
However, they signed me up for an unlimited subscription in which they are going to take money money from my debit card on a monthly basis.
I did not approve this.
And, they did not send a notice the day before so I could cancel.
Not only that, the site gives directions on how to cancel your subscription.
It states, "To cancel, when you are logged into your JustAnswer account, click on the “My Account” link from the JustAnswer homepage, then select “Off” for your subscription under “Payment Information”."
However, there is no such "Off" option for your subscription under Payment Information.
The only option available is changing your credit card number.
Contacted site again to ask why.
Sent me to another "question" place, where they were going to charge me $36.00 to answer my question!

Below is a copy of the email I was sent from JustAnswer that states that my account with them was closed on May 10, 2019. I still don't understand why the $40.00 that was charged to my Visa AFTER May 10, 2019 in each of the following 4 months (June, July, August and September 2019) was not reimbursed since my account was closed.

You can reply here or you can email us at *** and ask to be directed to *** or Adam. Please be sure to include your Revdex.com case number ***

We look forward to hearing back from you. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

As I mentioned in my previous response; the account was closed in May and there were no charges after that time. I cannot locate another account which uses the same PayPal address, so in order to assist you, I will need the information I previously requested. Do you have another email address you might have used? Were the charges credit card charges or PayPal charges? If they were credit card charges, I will need the first 6 and last 4 digits of the card that was charged. You can respond here or you can email us directly as previously instructed. We would love to assist but we will need your help in locating the account.

Warm regards,

Ms.Senior Customer Support Specialist

Good evening,

I sent the Revdex.com a complaint about Just Answer (***) which was not resolved fairly. I am sending both Just Answer and the Revdex.com a copy of the email sent to me by Just Answer stating that they had canceled my membership with them as of May 10, 2019. However, they have charged my VISA $40.00 on each of June 24, July 24, August 24, September 24, and October 24.

That means that after canceling my membership, Just Answer has removed $40 each month for a membership that they canceled In May 2019. Just Answer has therefore taken a total of $200 from my VISA after canceling my membership.

Revdex.com, please review this and tell me what action I may take against JustAnswer.

I have taken note of the many similar complaints lodged against Just Answer on the Revdex.com site.

Revdex.com, please review this case again keeping in mind the email Just Answer sent me canceling my membership in May.

Thank you

Complaint: ***

I just checked my VISA and TDCanada Trust has taken care of it. They checked my VISA account and found the $40 come out of my account every month. I don't know if they will be contacting Just Answer about it.

Just Answer, please forward this email to Adam or *** at their request.

I would like to end the complaint process at this point.

Sincerely
