Legal Eagle answered my questions and gave me great advice.
Thank yoy
My questions were answered within minutes. *** was a pleasure to deal with & gave me several options to my questions. I will use them again in the future & will recommend anyone to them that may have a legal issue. Wish I would have known about them sooner.
Used JustAnswer to get advice for replacing my 38 year old thermostat with a Nest. Wiring was the challenge. Found a HVAC expert in minutes. It was 9 pm PST ... and in 30 minutes this expert had sent me two diagrams on how to re-wire the Nest. Gave the rep a 5 Star review. Would give JustAnswer 5 Stars Too!
Looked these guys on line, posted my question and received a response within a few minutes. Allowed me to make a decision quickly.
Thanks
I paid Just Answer $59 to speak with a paralegal. However, I was not aware that a $46/month membership was needed in order to contact a lawyer. Today I noticed that two payments of $46 was taken from my account even though this is not what I requested. Especially since I did not require any legal advice within that incorrect membership.
Hello,
My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.
Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.
After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the discounted $5 question with the 7 day free trial membership. As with any membership or subscription trial, if you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service. Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an email is sent before your trial is ending.
Per our terms of service that you agreed to when you enrolled in the membership, the membership payment is not eligible for a refund as stated in section 10, subheading "Refunds, Cancellations, Abuse and Special Programs" as follows;
***
Although your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service, as a courtesy to you we have refunded the membership payments for you. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.
I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

My credit card has been charged 28/month since 5/15/19 ( 5 charges = 140) by this company. I asked a question of an "expert" they provided on the phone several months ago and they claimed I gave them permission to charge me a monthly fee for "membership" in their organization after that call. I asked for my money back and they refused. I asked for a copy of the form that supposedly gave them permission to charge me a recurrent fee. They have not supplied me with this. I believe this company is a scam. I would never knowingly give permission for a recurrent charge under these circumstances.

cc:I am happy to have my money returned. But this business is a scam operation. Thank you for your help.
The site should never place a time limit on when an “expert” will be available. When the 8 min took 3 hours to complete a poor answer to a serious question. I asked for a refund. I realized the initial cost you put out isn’t what is paid. I paid an extra amount for the question not answer and didn’t get the initial payment refunded. I did not see that there was going to be additional payment for more then just a response to retain the initial payment without answering the question at all. Cheap way to earn an income as easily as typing a few words to retain that payment and not helping what the costumer is actually paying money for on this site.
Hello ***,
Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We apologize for any confusion about the cost.
The cost of the individuals questions are presented on the billing page before you enter any payment information. We also send a receipt E-mail with the full value of the question immediately after the question is posted.
In looking at the question, it does appear that it did take approximately an hour for the Veterinarian to respond to you, they were however unable to respond to any further comments as the question had been closed when the refunds were processed.
We hope that you were able to find the assistance that you needed.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Not Recommended! During a search on a Microsoft site, on August 21, 2019, for information relative to a software issue this page opened called "JUSTANSWER" with a window to state your question. I stated the question. A reply came back that the question could be ANSWERED for a one time payment of $1.00. I gave the credit card #. The answer was unsatisfactory and did not help. It seemed unrelated to my question. I thought it a scam and ended the relationship.
On September 1, 2019 the entity "JUSTANSWER" entered a charge of $40.00 dollars for a membership. My call today did not allow a return/rebate of the $40. and tried to get me a reduced membership. It is a scam I insisted that all relations be cancelled. It is disappointing that companies such as this one are allowed to operate.
Hello ***
Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. It appears that there may have been an issue navigating the website when you tried to cancel the first time.
As a gesture of goodwill we've gone ahead and issued a refund for the membership charge and you should see the credit posted in the next 3-5 business days at the most.

Keep away from this service. The primary goal of the agents is to make you pay and register you for a membership. Therefore when comes the time to help you with your problem they cannot easily get to the root of it and opt for the easy way which is to take control of your computer at a cost to you but with no actual results.
On June 07 2019 I contacted JustAnswer*** via the internet to answer an IRS Tax/Accounting Problem I had. The Internet Charged me a Trial Fee of $5.00 which I paid via a Debit Card.
To Answer my Tax Question JustAnswer*** informed me that I would have to pay a membership fee of $28.00. I paid the Membership fee of $28.00 via my Debit Card, on June 14th 2019. I asked my question, got a satisfactory Answer and went about my Business. Thus I saw an observed the above 2 Charges on My June Wells Fargo Bank Statement. No Problem.
Imagine my surprise When the July Bank Statement with reached me on August 10th 2019 there was a Recurring Payment JustAnswer*** Authorized on 07/14 for $28.00. Then to add another insult to Injury when I received my August Bank Statement on September 10th 2019 there was another Recurring Payment JustAnswer*** Authorized on 08/14 for $28.00 and for the boldness of JustAnswer*** since I am typing this on Sunday September 22 2019 I can bet you the on the September Bank Statement which I will receive on October 10th 2019 there will be another Recurring Payment JustAnswer*** Authorized on 09/14 for $28.00. Please note after payment of $5.00 and Payment of June 14th 2019 $28.00 I did not nor have I authorized JustAnswer*** to deduct any further payment from My Account.

Unable to discontinue auto withdrawals, was informed by the customer service that there isn't a method to discontinue being a member of there service. Once made aware of the issue, they were unwilling to discontinue the monthly charges or to provide a refund of the charges already withdrawn. They charged for items/services that were not requested, and lied about reversing the charges. The charges were not clearly identified during sign-up, nor is the process to withdrawal membership.
Hello,
My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.
Firstly, I am sorry for any confusion you have experienced with our site.
Regarding the membership, only the customer can enroll in one of our membership plans, it's never done automatically by the site. There are a few places the customer has to click in order to enroll in a membership plan. First, they have to select a plan, and then they have to click on the orange 'Start My Free Trial' button.
The Offer Details page explains the payment terms and that you're authorizing JustAnswer to automatically charge a subscription fee for each month of enrollment. Also provided are instructions on how to cancel. Additionally, we send emails that outline all of the benefits of the membership plan.
After checking your account, it looks like you accepted a free trial offer to try our membership program. At the end of the trial, the membership bills automatically to avoid disruptions in service. It is evident that you did not intend to continue with the membership after the trial ended, so as a courtesy, I have opted you out of the membership and issued a refund of the charges (one charge $32 was already refunded on 7/8/19, I've refunded the remaining two membership charges, $32 x 2). The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.
I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

I had a legal question and was very pleased to find that Just Answer could help me with my legal question for a $5.00 fee. I was fine with the 7 day trial membership and even went through the trouble of trying to cancel any recurring payments as I only needed the service for the one legal question I had. I looked at my bank account today and Just awnser has taken 46.00 out of my account that I did not authorize. I called the customer service number and was very dissatisfied with the agent I was transferred to. I have three children and am a single mom. I cannot afford this type of service! I need help resolving this issue!

This business uses misleading practices to sign you up for a membership that I never knew I agreed to and when I called to be reimbursed, they refused. I agreed to pay $5 for a trial question and when I posted the question and received a response requiring an additional $50 to speak to an "expert", I chose not to proceed because I felt mislead. I never received an answer and chose to move on. Then I found a membership charge on my bank account - I don't recall seeing anything that obviously alerted me that this would be an ongoing membership commitment and feel it is done deceptively. If they were legitimate, they wouldn't hesitate to reimburse me for a service I never even used. To be clear - I never received an answer because I didn't proceed with authorizing further funds and felt mislead out of the gate.

I approved a trial with Just Answer and was happy to spend &5 and a few cents for this question. I didn’t realize the trial was only one week. Once the $60 charge was posted, I called the same day to get a refund. I also canceled the trial and “membership” same day. Multiple employees were not very helpful. I was refused a refund at every step. I would completely understand if I had continued to use the service or waited a week or month to request the refund. My response was immediate. I simply want a refund for the $60 that I am owed. Thank you.

I just looked at my bank statement and saw that JustaAnswer UK has charged my £40 on top of the £5 I paid for a trial 5 day membership to ask a question. They haven't made it clear that I have opted in for a full membership and given them permission to retain my credit card details! I turned to them for legal advice because I was getting scammed by my landlord and instead got scammed by some lawyers who probably very cleverly protected themselves. Future naive customers beware if you want want to be parted with your money against your will.
The website offers the opportunity to speak with lawyer for a set price. I purchased that service, was charged for that specific service, and was allowed the opportunity to speak with a lawyer. During my consultation, I was asked several times, via prompt, if I would like to purchase additional services, for additional more money; I declined each time. Approximately a week later, I was charged the amount an additional service charge. I submitted a dispute with my bank to wit, my bank ultimately denied my claim due to documentation provided, by JustAnswers.com, that stated that I authorized the additional transaction. This transaction forced my account into the overdraft and I was charged an additional overdraft fee as a result.

I used the Just Answer service one time to get a question answered about a mortgage law issue. I paid $5 for a 7day trial. I was told that if I did not continue my membership after 7 days, the membership would be cancelled. I found a $60 charge on my debit card from Just Answer. I went onto the website and cancelled any membership I had and sent an email to customer support asking them to refund my money as I did not authorize a payment of $60. I received an email back stating that I was not eligible for a refund because I did not cancel my membership within the 7day trial period. I informed them that I will not be giving up until I get a refund.

They lure you in with very low cost introductory fees send you tons of emails - but that signs you us for a subscription that they never remind you of - even if you are no longer using the service.
Hello ***,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We're sorry for any confusion about the payment for the site.
The membership charge amount and information is presented to all customers on the payment page prior to entering any billing information. In looking into your account we can confirm that your membership was refunded last week.
Please reach out to us if you need any further assistance and we're happy to help in any way we can.

90 Days ago I sought help from Just Answer to correct a gas leak in the stove installed in the house I'm renting. Just Answer delivered incorrect information.
I have not received any notification of a monthly charge but have now discovered a recurring charge to my credit card for a 'membership fee'.
The customer service operator is very difficult to understand but states that the fees are non-refundable.
I have requested my membership to be cancelled; but that hasn't happened yet.
Time to contact my lawyer . . .
I have to advise not to use Just Answer - it seems to be a scam to collect credit card numbers.
