Hello,
My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.
Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.
I was able to locate two accounts, on one account you asked a question about your Iphone on 2/20/2019 and then two other questions on a different account, one about your *** on 12/17/2018 and another on 5/29/2018 about a Toyota Camry. I was unable to find any charge for $43. If you think you may have another email besides these two email addresses, please email me directly at *** and I would be happy to help you locate that charge or any other charges you think we may have missed.
I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

Complaint on Justanswer Apr 24, 2019 through Apr 25, 2010
Justanswer is very deceptive in both web site information and oral communication. My main complaint is the wait time feature on the web, when I first asked the question the reply was I would hear from the "expert" in 8 minutes. I was pleased to hear such a short wait time, 4 hours later the wait time was still the same, 8 minutes, I contacted the lady that was manning the web site reply box and then talked to a supervisor who told me that 8 minutes is the response no matter how long I had waited and she would put my question in Priority status, but they have no control of the expert's time. Sure enough, after being a priority for a response for an hour the wait time was the only answer that is offered is eight minutes. I did hear from the expert at 7:43 p.m., a very nice fellow although the mower I had was dead in the yard and I could not see it til the next morning. These people are experts at avoiding the truth, the eight minutes wait time is a outright misrepresentation of the truth. When I call and spoke to a supervisor, she said there was no record of my typed discussion with anyone at Justanswer, meanwhile I was looking at everything said on their website. I have no complaint with the expert, I was able to find the problem this morning with his help. I still have several emails from the company although the supervisor said their is no record of my email address or case number. Go figure.
Hello ***,
We're very sorry to hear about your wait and the frustration it caused. The 8 minute estimate is base don the average time to receive a response on the site. Approximately 80% of customers actually receive a response in fewer than 5 minutes. It seems that you must have caught us at an extremely busy time of day for the Experts in the Home Improvement category.
We can see that you were able to continue the conversation with the technician and we're glad to hear that it was helpful.
Once again, we apologize for the wait.
If you need anything further, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us and we're happy to help.

I was redirected to Just Answer by Microsoft. I paid $5 to talk with a representative who was unable to solve my problem. When my credit card statement arrived, in addition to the $5 charge there was a $46 charge from Just Answer for an annual subscription. At no time did I understand that in addition to the $5 I also was signing up for a $46 annual subscription. I chatted with a representative and was told the $46 would be refunded. To date, I have not received the refund. I chatted again today with a representative, explained the history, and while she checked on my request she redirected me to a site where I could sign up for Just Answer for $1. Unless I signed up for the annual subscription I was unable to return to the chat. I find the amount of time spent trying to get my $46 refund, and the multiple "run arounds" from Just Answer exceedingly frustrating. I would never want to do business with them again.

I sense a trend taking place with the reviews for JustAnswer. Revdex.com SHOULD PAY ATTENTION. I just clicked onto the Revdex.com website to write a review since it was the Revdex.com A+ rating that convinced me to submit my credit card information to JustAnswer and pay the $5 they requested. Now, I hate that I am forever going to second guess Revdex.com. I ALWAYS trusted them and believed, in this case, that JustAnswer was a reputable company. On April 16, I, too, paid $5 for a question and answer (the same time period as most of the unhappy customers) and then to my surprise this morning, I saw a charge for $34 pending on my bank account linked to JustAnswer. I called them immediately to find out what happened and I was informed that I had signed up for the membership at the time I agreed to pay the $5. They explained I had agreed to a 7 day free trial and then the membership automatically kicks in if I don’t cancel it before the 7 days are up. I was completely unaware of this but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t the case because all three call center people out of the Philippines, including the supervisor, stated almost verbatim, clearly they’ve got the speech down, that is their policy - no refunds but they can “assure me that my credit card won’t be used again”. What does that matter when they already have $34 more dollars from me? But, with all of that said, what I explained to them in the world of, for example, *** and ***, these are companies that pride themselves on customer service and they make sure you know you come first (and even if money is what it’s about, they still get it - take care of the customer). So, I told each of the three call center reps, including the supervisor, that since I had called the day after the free trial ended and had only used the service once on the 16th when I paid the $5 and the charge was still pending at my bank and on their end, can they refund it as a “courtesy” since I’m not trying to back pedal and say, “Yo, give me a refund even though I used it for a month.” No, that’s not what I was asking for. I was asking for a “courtesy” to a customer who would have been TOTALLY willing to come back had they made that “courtesy” available to me, the customer they say they value. But, it was very clear, that was not their instructions from those making the rules inside that call center in the Philippines - it was, “We’ve got them. They can’t wiggle their way out of the ‘fine print’ that they overlooked because they were desperate to get help for a problem they were facing.” Nope. JustAnswer has set up a system to take advantage of people who are clearly in situations that have urgency to them or they wouldn’t be in desperate need so much so that they’re looking on the internet and paying $5 to a company they believe is really there to help. PAY ATTENTION EVERYONE, especially Revdex.com. BUYER BEWARE - This unfortunately feels very much like a SCAM.
Hello Tracey,
Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We're sorry for any frustration and thank you for your feedback.
The messaging about the membership is presented on the billing page before a customer enters their payment information. We also send out an immediate receipt E-mail with the billing amount and the membership benefits, as well as a payment reminder e-mail 3-days prior to each membership billing that is processed. It seems that somewhere along the way this messaging may have been missed.
As a gesture of goodwill, we have issued a cancellation for the pending membership charge on this account. You should see the charge fall off in the next several days.
If you have any other questions about your account, or the service, of if you need assistance from an Expert in the future, please reach back out to us and we're happy to help.

In February I talked to a Dr. through Just answer. At that time I expressed I did not want any further service and was assured there would be no additional charges. In March I was charged an additional 46.00 I did not authorize as some type of ongoing member ship fee. The customer service agent said the physician was not authorized to say there would be no additional charges as a contracted agent. The customer service agent also said they have stellar ratings despite 25% of their customers reporting to Revdex.com and sites online about their rip off practice. I am not sure how they continue to be able to scam people with this rating.
Hello,
My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.
Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.
After checking your account, it looks like you signed up for the $5 question with the 7 day free trial. As with any membership or subscription, if you do not cancel before the trial period ends, you are billed automatically to avoid interruptions in service. Additionally, we send emails outlining the details of the free trial and membership. Since you did not intend to continue with the membership after the trial ended, as a courtesy, I have opted you out of the membership and issued a refund of the charge. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.
Additionally, I reviewed your question page and nowhere on the page did you mention the membership and the Dr/ never mentioned anything about the membership either. You are welcome to log into your account to view the page or email me at ***, provide your email address and I will send you a transcript of the page to review. Experts know that they do not have access to the customers account information and cannot tell them anything about their account. I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.
Best regards,

I paid a $5 fee to have a question answered. That was a trial fee. I was not aware that I would be charged a fee every month after that if I did not cancel within a certain number of days. I wasn't aware of this clause and because I did not cancel in time, I was charged a $28 fee for April. I don't often use that account and was not aware of the charge until today, April 23, 2019. I called the company and was told that it was just too bad and that I had accepted their terms and I had no recourse other than to pay it. If I had known of this clause, I would not have signed up with them in the first place!!!!
I think this is a very poor way to treat customers and I would like them to refund my $28. In this case, ignorance IS an excuse.
Very sincerely.

Went online to ask a question on JustAnswer. I was asked did I want to continue with a subscription. I did not. Yet I was charged a fee of 46.00. I did not subscribe nor did I ask any additional questions after the initial $1 or $2.00 charge. I am not sure if it is legal to take a person's money if they do not chose to continue. I would not recommend this service.

As far as I am concerned, Just Answer is a scam. I needed an answer for a kitchen range problem last January and it was my understanding that my only charge would be $5.00 which I agreed to. However my bank statement since then has shown a $28.00 membership charge every month. I did not agree to a membership at all and contacted Just Answer by phone and on the internet earlier. I was told that my account was closed on 3/24/19 (I have a copy of Just Answer's reply indicating that the account was in fact closed). However, when I received a credit card statement today there was a new charge in the amount of $28.00 DATED 3/26/19. Since I never agreed to a membership at all, I would like to have the account researched and receive a credit for any and all charges over the $5.00 that I originally agree too.
Hello ***,
Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We're sorry for any confusion.
We can confirm for you that the last membership billing was processed on 3/23/2019. As 3/23/2019 was a Saturday, the funds may not have bene reflected in your account until 3/26/2019 which would have been the following Monday.
We can also confirm for you that no further billing has been, or will be processed. If you've got any further questions about your account, please reach out to our Customer Care team from the Help page at *** or give us a call at ***.

BE VERY AWARE! This company uses a bait-n-switch strategy to obtain payment for their initial service. The website clearly states you pay $5.00 but does not tell you that you will be charged $28.00 and not just $5.00 ***. I will say, in their defense, once I complained to them of my irritation of being charged the extra, the refunded my full $28.00 back
I was searching on the web for a fix to a computer problem. I agreed to a trial membership of $5.00. When I connected with customer service it was evident that they were not familiar with my problem as they asked questions that had no relevance to the error I was experiencing. I told the representative that this wasn't working for me and thanks very much. Well, I got an email asking for more follow-up questions. I replied, no thanks, this wasn't solving my problem. Then, I got another email, again thanks but no thanks. Then, another and another and another. Finally, I was begging them to stop. Today, my credit card bill came with a membership to this company for $46.
I called but since I hadn't specifically called them earlier and cancelled the membership they would not reimburse me but they did promise to not continue my membership. I'm ticked off.
Useless service. Don't bother using them for your problems. I figured my computer problem myself and fixed it.
Hello ***,
Thanks for letting us know about this experience. We're sorry that the service didn't work out for you.
We can see that you had tried to cancel and that the messaging doesn't seem to have been processed correctly in this case.
We've gone ahead and issued a refund for the recent membership charge and you should see the funds back on the account in the next 3-5 business days.
If you need any further assistance with your account, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us.

I tried to get information about a tax question from Turbo Tax and was routed to this website on 4/14/19. I was told it would be $5.00 and I could get my money back, it was just to be able to initiate the service. Suddenly there is information that I am enrolled in a membership I did not want or request. It had a caveat that there was a 7-day trial period, and a bunch of reader/disclosures. I knew I didn't want a part of this, I never requested it so on the same day of this unrequested activation, I emailed to say that I didn't want to enroll on 4/14/19 at 10:26pm. On the 7th day I was charged $28.00 anyway. I called immediately and said that I didn't want the services, and that it is still the 7th day so by me calling on the 7th day that should meet the criteria of cancelling within the 7-day trial period. The guy on the phone said no - it is set up to 24 hours and refused to acknowledge my initial email request to not enroll, and also refused to return my money. I emailed customer service and received the same ignorance to my email request on the same day of sign up and he added that I was provided all of the details of the enrollment and should have followed it. Not only did I believe I had on the same day of enrollment, because of that I didn't have a need to read the agreement further because I had never asked to be enrolled and had specifically asked to be disenrolled the same day, 4/14/19. Now it is 4/21/19 - 7 days later and I was charged a monthly fee despite my multiple communication efforts of not wanting this service. They also retaliated against me in the correspondence that they have an A+ with the Revdex.com. However, I see that they have 269 complaints so I don't know how that is possible. Probably nearly 269 victims like myself. I never asked for this service, said I didn't want it from the start, emailed to disenroll me, called to disenroll me, and emailed again to disenroll me. They would not take no for an answer and still got my money against my will.

Scam-like experience. JustAnswer makes you think a medical professional will respond to you in "minutes," when what really will be hours or days. JustAnswer hopes you will spend more money with them. JustAnswer thinks they are so smart using Artificial Intelligence to run their business, but hopefully, this sham of a company will be found out ASAP!
JustAnswer ropes consumers into a membership program at 5 USD but JustAnswer sets consumers up to be charged one week later for the full month membership. JustAnswer dillydallies hoping consumers are desperate enough to wait patiently for one of JustAnswer's bots to respond. When consumer finally complains, BAM! A JustAnswer "expert" starts messaging: With many more questions, continuing to drag out time.
THIS. IS. A. SCAM!!! JustAnswer outsources their "experts," who question you more than providing answers.
Don't be desperate: go to the ER or find a local professional. They will appreciate the business.
Hello ***,
Thanks for getting in touch with us about this. We're sorry to hear that the site didn't work out for you.
In looking at your account it does appear that it took a little longer for you to receive an answer than it normally would have, but the typical response time is less than 10 minutes.
It does look like the Doctor that responded did have some more follow up questions for you regarding the medical issue that you contacted us about. This is the same experience that you would have if you saw a doctor in person, the doctors will have questions to better understand the details and symptoms of your medical issue. To clarify, the terms of service do not advise using the site for emergency situations. Any medical emergency should always be addressed first by calling 911.
We can confirm that your $5.00 deposit was refunded, as well, the membership was cancelled at your request on the same day.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

I asked a question long ago. Paid a buck. They charged me full freight a month after that and never told me. Now I find out. Ask a question and they ask for more $$. A rip off sucker play.

We can see that you contacted our Customer Care team 3 days ago and that we've been able to cancel the membership and refund the most recent charge for you.

I asked for an appraiser's advice. Auto chat kept asking for more and more details until I had no more. Hours later I got a rating assessment to rate the appraiser whom I had never been contacted by. I wrote Just Answer (JA) and told them. They told me I had the answer and that I had rated them highly! I told them to give me my money back as it looked like a scam. They refunded my $5 but told me they were not a scam. A day later I heard from an appraiser who now wanted a photo of the item. I emailed HER back saying my $5 was already refunded but I would redo it if she was indeed an appraiser who could help me. I immediately got an email back from JA (not the appraiser) who said since I had my money back I could not rejoin and now would have to pay the appraiser her own fee. I told them to forget it again saying they were either a scam or were just very poorly managed. I then started getting emails and offers from them and one email said they knew I had not rated the appraiser! No idea whose lying here but I'll never use them again. What a runaround and now they want me to ask for an appraisal again for free. They just don't want a bad Revdex.com rating.
Hi there ***,
Thanks for letting us know about this. In looking at your account it seems that there must have been some trouble in navigating the site.
It does look like one of our appraisers, ***, responded to you with several questions about the item that you were looking for a valuation on however it doesn't appear that you ever navigated back to the website to respond to her.
If you responded to an E-mail notification, those do not go back to the Expert as they are just automated notification E-mails. What you would have needed to do is click on the big button in the middle of the E-mail and that would have brought you back to the conversation.
Once again, we're sorry to hear about the confusing experience but please reach out to us if you need any further assistance.

I called Mfr of personal computer printer to ask question about installing a new printer in my home. I was placed on hold, in Customer Service Hold Queue for 45 min. A Popup on my computer screen instructed me that I could "Chat Live" with Technical Support. I selected the Chat option, even while I was still on Hold. I explained the problem I had when using the Printer keypad. The Tech Support had problem understanding that I needed to enter an all numeric password but the keypad on printer only displayed alpha characters. Finally the Tech sent me a link to a YouTube video. I learned from the video, how to enter a numeric character. I was instructed chatting with Technical Support would cost me $1.00. I paid this chg by Debit Card. Less than 2 days later, JustAnswer charged my account $46.00 USD. Apparently this is a monthly fee for their "service". I called JustAnswer Toll-Free and immediately told their Customer Service to cancel this service immediately. I received an email confirming my Cancellation the next day. I was provided an *** number by JustAnswer to call them about followup. The telephone number they gave me has a constant Busy tone and I Can Not get through to speak to anyone at JustAnswer. I wish Revdex.com would list the Business practices of this Company as "Dishonest or Deceptive" and to avoid. Thank you

When I used this service they said it would cost $1 for trial. When I found out that they could not assist me I asked them to cancel (person I was talking to). Then yesterday they took $34.00 from my checking account. When I contacted them they said they would not return this amount. Because when I completed the $1 trial it states that I have to cancel or be charged this monthly fee. Since I was communicating with their employee, they should have cancelled as I requested and not charged me the monthly fee of $34. ThankYou

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. As long as the funds are transferred back to our account.
Thank YouSincerely
It’s an absolute scam. A) they never figured out or answered our question...no problem, I can deal with that. B) they automatically sign you up for a Membership, then will invoice you $38/month until you notice and cancel.
Stay away from this awful business.

I paid for a question to Justanswer*** for 5.00, I never signed up for their subscription of 45 that caused me to go on overdraft. I went to justanswer is because I cannot even afford to go to a doctor so I opted to pay 5.00. But instead justanswer took money from my account. I never signed up their trial agreement and they just went ahead and charged me!

The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy. I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

I agreed to intro offer and phone call fee. I declined subscription service. Just answer started the subscription billing with out my authorization. When I contacted them by e mail they refused to refund over charges. After several e mails agreed to cancel subscription , but still charged for following month. After reading the customer comments I am surprised at your satisfaction rating. I am not the only one with this problem.
Hello ***,
Thanks for getting in touch with us about this. We're sorry for any frustration.
The billing picks up after the end of the 7-day trial in order to make sure that there isn't an interruption in service. We do send several messages prior to the first membership billing to remind customers that they are on a membership, what the benefits are, and what the billing date is.
As a gesture of goodwill, we have canceled your membership and issued a refund for the most recent charge.
If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us through the Contact Us link on the homepage.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
JustAnswer Customer Care.
