I went to this site for an answer to a legal question. The site shows $5.00 per question. a month later I get a bill for $46.00 as a "membership fee". There was NO indication on the site of either what they called the "7 day trial" or membership fee. When I called them to complain, the customer service man would not transfer me to a supervisor and insisted I pay the membership fee and he would cancel my membership. I see from your site as well as Consumer Protection complaints that I am not alone.

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: This was clearly a bait and switch. Your site said absolutely nothing about a "membership". I never received an email "outlining membership". You know what you have done. I have looked all over the internet to see people stating the exact same problem as mine. You "bait and switch". I want my money back. $50.00 for this "membership". The company gives you a membership for $5 and then sends you a single email telling you that they are going to bill you $46 for every month thereafter just in case you might want to use their service. I did not receive any email. I did not know I was being charged for the non existent service. I am remiss in not noticing it sooner. They charged me for six months for a membership I did not know about, did not use and never ask for in the first place. I contacted them and they were unwilling to even consider repaying any of the money. They were even suggesting that they wanted to continue charging me. I had to cancel my credit card.

I used JustAnswer for an issue with my HP laptop. They first wanted a lot of money to subscribe. I didn’t need to subscribe because I only had one issue that I needed assistance with. They contacted me through chat and said for a one time fee of $5 I could chat with a support agent. Then they wanted $39.95 to view my computer and find a fix. I declined that. They followed up with an offer of a one time fee of $5 to log into my computer which I agreed to.
I checked my bank statement and JustAnswer charged me a recurring membership fee of $46. I called customer service and the agent, who sounded foreign, said he could cancel my subscription but not refund the $46. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They were all busy and had to call me back, which they did minutes later. She advised the same thing that I was not eligible for a refund of the $46 even though I explained I wasn’t aware of ever signing up for a subscription. It apparently was somewhere in fine print. She didn’t care and continued to refuse to give me a refund. I was sent to JustAnswer after I attempted to contact HP Support for assistance. I will never, ever use the company or website again and I’m very disappointed that HP sent me to them. They seem to thrive on taking advantage of others. Spread the word and boycott the company. I’ve never had a company refuse a refund in a similar situation.

This company is a scam. They will charge your credit card for a monthly fee unless you cancel your membership (that you didn't know you were signing up for) within 7 days. I was looking for the bottom line and they must have cleverly hid it. They will not refund my money and they will not let me speak with a manager, they just put me on hold forever. My advice is to not bother asking for assistance, it's not worth the long-term hassle.

The billing picks up after the end of the 7-day trial in order to make sure that there isn't an interruption in service. We do send several messages prior to the first memberships billing to remind customers that they are on a membership, what the benefits are, and what the billing date is.
In looking at your account we can confirm that the agent that you spoke with was able to cancel your membership and issue a refund for the most recent charge.

My wife made a call to them concerning questions on her cell phone. They could not answer and we gave them our credit card to cover the call which was necessary and we understand that. They had no clue as to how to answer my wife's questions. They had our card, we were charged the $5 for the call and all was fine. They then billed us for an annual fee which we did not accept nor authorize. We have tried to get this fee credited back to our banking card account, but can't They tell us they have credited this back to Bank Of America; Bank of America tells me they have not. A rep. from Bank America contacted them while I was on the line. They continued to tell Bank of America that they credited this back, however the Bank of America rep. told me that they did not. We were transferred to the supervisor in which we were cutoff from them. This is not the reputable company they say they are.

Legal assistance was provided in addressing an outrageous overcharge for services rendered
In backing out of a wedding ceremony agreement with a local golf country club here in the Palos Verdes Peninsula, California.
• Questions and concerns were resolved in a matter of minutes
• My limited legal rights to withdraw from a signed agreement with partial reimbursement were quickly explained
• My draft letter to the country club requesting substantial reimbursement for fees paid in advance of services rendered was revised in two areas by me based on comments from the on-duty attorney
• The JustAnswer legal charges were a matter of a few dollars incurred by me compared with the legal charges of $400-500 per hour that would normal be incurred from a brick-and-mortar attorney
Based on all of the above attributes, I gave the on-duty attorney a five-star rating for services rendered!
I contacted the company and agreed to pay $5.00 for talking to an expert. I ended paying a bit more but that was ok, but then about 2 months later I find out they have been billing me $28 monthly for a membership I NEVER signed up for.
I immediately cancelled my membership.
They claim on their website that they have an A+ rating on Revdex.com. Is this true? They should get a C because I am not the only one complaining about this. What they have done borders on fraud and I hope Revdex.com addresses this.

"Just Answer" took 3 payments of $28.00 out of my checking without my permission. They stated to me after my calling them that I had agreed to do this after a 7 day $5.00 trial membership. I had contacted them back in January & complained & they said they would straighten this out. They did not straighten this out or stop this. I look at their reviews on their site & they have over 1000 complaints of the same thing but more money. You guys give them an "A+" on your site? Makes no sense to me. I thought I could rely on Revdex.com?

My brother was having issues with his truck so I went on line and found Just Answer and they have a Ad for questions with a 7 day trial for $5. There is no place that says they charge you $34 monthly after the 7days, no other place for term and cancellation. Now they took$34 from my bank account.

I have a friend who the wife of a military veteran and had been given some bad information about UCMJ actions. I had done some research on my own on the matter but legal terminology can be very confusing. So I called JustAnswer. The representative was very helpful and verified what I believed was the answers but was unsure.
I rely on JustAnswer to help me through this tough time with my fiancée's family while he is incarcerated. He is in Ohio and his family is in PA. There is a very complicated issue going on with his siblings and his parents will and since I am the POA of my fiancée this has made them angry. I keep getting the story that because PA is a Common Wealth State things are different than in Ohio. If it were not for JustAnswer, I would have probably given up by now trying to fight for what is his. I can't afford an attorney at this point so I have turned to JustAnswer for help. I had an antique Chinese porcelain from and nine water colors by an artist from Chile - all of which I needed to know more about. I was provided with great information and valuations on all, and even potential ways to safely sell them to interested buyers. I had tried unsuccessfully to find the information online or from local experts. No one else would take the time to do the research. I was also impressed with the speed of the responses. I had the requested information within 24 hours in each case.
It was late in the evening and I had no access to a vet after hours for a question regarding my dog and her breathing and allergies*** was very kind, compassionate and helpful and set my mind at ease.
