I booked a flight from Burbank CA to Shanghai China for 2/12/and due to a loss of a friend I had to cancel my vacationI was told I have to cancel through themWhen I went to their site I was offered to cancel and receive a credit for the cost of $and the wording said I could use this credit by Nov 27, to book with other partnersI WAS NOT OFFERED AN OPTION TO JUST CANCEL THE FLIGHTWhen I went in to see if I could use the credit, it is showing me I can only apply the credit to the same exact itineraryThis fact was NOT listed on their websiteThis should have been disclosed because if it was I would not have chosen that option as I do not wish to go to China now and that is why I canceledWhen I spoke to their agent they just kept repeating that I chose the"credit" option but there WAS NO OTHER OPTIONThey are stating this is strictly because this is an international flightI understand United's rules and I am not questioning themI am fighting the fact that Just
