This company is a total scam. I'm going to be in debt forever because they ripped me off so bad on the siding I had done, charging me $30,000 for what other contractors have told me was a $10,000 job. I only hired them because they were the only ones who showed up on time and gave me an estimate right away. My insurance company was threatening to drop me, so I went with the ones who said they could do it the soonest. But the work was NOT completed by the promised date, the "crew" was only one guy. One piece of siding was cracked and it took me TWO YEARS, I kid you not, to get them to fix it. I kept calling and they kept finding the work orders had been marked "completed." Now another piece is cracked and they want $100 just to come out and LOOK at it.

But guess what. I don't learn from my mistakes, and they conned me again with my windows. The salesman said they had new management and everything would be better, and they convinced me I was getting a steep discount. (Yes, this is at least half my fault for not shopping around more. I'd only had one other estimate, and they had not done a good job previously.) This time they at least did the job quickly, with a real crew, but they broke two pieces off my wood frames, and subsequent contractors told me the windows were just "cheap replacement windows" that should have cost $500 each instead of the $1000 I paid.

The killer is that they KEEP CALLING ME, no matter how often I've told them they suck and I'm never hiring them again. One time they tried to convince me I could have up to $50,000 of work done free and refused to tell me how unless a salesperson came out. I finally let them send someone, and she was like, "They told you what? No, that's not true at all." Even their salespeople can't keep their lies straight.

This company engages in telephone harassment, even to homes with number on the no-call list. If a customer calls to complaint, the call center hangs up. Please investigate them and stop giving them Revdex.com designation!

K-Designers did a wonderful job on our windows and siding. They worked quickly and efficiently. The entire job was completed within a week of starting the renovation. The window crew was exceptional! He got 5 windows replaced in 3 hours. The only thing that surprised us was that we thought they would replace the whole window and frame. The window was replaced, but the frame was not. Now we will have to sand and re-stain the existing window frames to the same color as the frames on the windows.

The siding crew was also friendly. The only trouble we had was that some of the crew's lunch garbage was found in our yard. Once we addressed this with the crew, they picked up after themselves the rest of the job. The siding crew made sure that every nook and cranny of the exterior of the house looked exceptional before they left. Our house looks like a brand new home!

The people at K Designers who came out and did buisness with me were very friendly and courteous. From the salesman who visited me and discussed my available options, to the installers who removed my old windows and replaced them with new ones, my experience with K designers was wonderful. The installers work quickly and efficently, they had my old windows removed and replaced them with new ones in less than a day.I didnt even know my mobile home could possibly look this nice. These new windows have made my home the best on the block. if I only had one word to explain my experience with K Designers it would be "Fabulous".

Review: We engaged with company to install 4 new windows and remodel our bathroom. It took them two months to install the windows. At that time they would start on our bathroom. It took them about a month to start on the bathroom. When they came out to start they were always leaving to do something else. Finally they settled down to do the bathroom and removed all the factures in the bathroom to get started and than the boss called the workers and told them they would have to go to Kansas to start a another job or something. My husband is a truck driver over the road. He returned home on Sunday Dec. 1, 2014. They were to call him on Monday Dec. 2, 2014 to start working on the bathroom again. Nobody called. We called the business last night. The boss had all kinds of excuses why nobody was doing anything about the bathroom work. The bathroom is totally unuseable. I think they should do the work they where contracted to do. this is very poor business and unacceptable.Desired Settlement: They do the work they were contractored for and they do it in 3wks like they said or we get another contractor and they pay the bill for it. They are not a very good company and their workers are very unreliable.

Business

Response:

We have an installer at their house right now working on the bathroom.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: The business did send a man out to work on the bathroom. When he came my husband had to go with the worker to pick up parts for the bathroom. Than when they came back the worker worked for 3 hours. He than told my husband that he had to go get something else and would be right back. When I returned home from work at 4:30pm the worker was still not back at our house. He returned later at about 6:30pm put his tools away and left. He told my husband he would be back at 9:00a.m. this morning Dec. 05, 2014 and he could not get what he had left to go get because the companys credit card was not working. I think we need to talk to a lawyer.

Business

Response:

We have almost finished the bathroom instal. There is a special order vanity that we are waiting on and the project will be completed. The customer expressed to us that she is satisfied with the work that was done. We will keep you informed once the vanity comes in and is installed.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: The company would not approve the vanity we picked out. It had to be ordered from the company and it would take about two - three weeks. They did not want to order that vanity and they said it would cost to much. So there is no vanity on order. I said I approved of the workers job not how the company has handled the whole job.

Business

Response:

The vanity is on order, and we are waiting for it to come in. Once it has been installed we will inform the Revdex.com of the completion of the project as well as send the pictures of the completed bathroom so there is no more confusion.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: We will wait to see what happens with the vanity to finish up the job. They sent the worker out on another project. If they take another three weeks to a month to finish up I will get a lawyer to take care of this problem.

Review: Have made numerous to contact chris in warranty department with no returned calls. Broken window hardware and broken storm door not being repaired.

have called and left messages with Warranty department, with no returned calls and when I do actually reach someone on my weekly call they say they are busy moving. Called to have storm door adjusted to close properly had to pay to have someone come out but I guess its not covered under warranty, they adjusted but still didn't close properly wind caught the storm door and shattered glass, contacted kdesigners and they referred me to manufacturer website to file claim which I did but haven't heard from manufacturer or kdesigners in months. on top of this storm door issue I have a front window that the glass has separated from plastic outer lining they have come to meassure but no ETA on completion or even call back about whats the status on the window. literally having to call weekly to leave a message and never get call back. absolutely ridiculous, worst customer service I have ever experienced and warranty is a complete joke. I wont be satisfied until all issues are completed, there are other problems that should be covered under warranty that I have yet to even address because I know no one will ever actually take care of them.Desired Settlement: I would like all my warranty issues resolved but I feel I will run into these same issues with any future warranty work. best option would be to cut ties completely with this company and want a 100% refund so I can pay a qualified company to make necessary repairs and offer a legitimate warranty that doesn't require the buyer to go through all these issues to get anything fixed.

Business

Response:

We communicated with [redacted] last week and his four areas of concern are as follows: 1. Front window - glass & trim issues2. Storm door - glass breakage; handle/hardware faded; not closing properly 3. Garage door – panels damaged due to customer negligence4. French patio door – scratches on glass due to customer’s dog We’ve informed the customer that we will service item # 1 and replace item # 2 with a new storm door. Both will be completed by end of week. As for items 3 & 4, we’ve informed the customer that these would be chargeable services that would not fall under warranty coverage. As a result he has opted to not have it addressed through K-Designers. We will also provide the customer with copies of his warranties for all applicable products installed. We explained to him that the labor warranty through K-Designers is for 1 year only he was led to believe by his MD that labor for all products is lifetime. We further explained that the lifetime limited warranty is applicable to material only. Overall he was satisfied with our response in addressing the four areas of concern. Although he was not happy with the accurate explanation to his warranty coverage, he now understands what is covered and what’s not.

Review: I am the daughter and POA for [redacted], Eureka, CA, who I believe is being harassed by K-Designers of Gold River, CA. Last week she received two phone calls and an in person visit to her door to discuss replacement of windows despite the fact that I have personally informed this company in writing that she does not want any more contact with them. In August 2014 this same thing happened prompting me to send an email to the company requesting that they put my mother's phone number on their DO NOT CALL list. I specifically requested that she not be contacted either by phone or in person. I requested they confirm receipt of my request by emailing me back which they did but then on Jan. 24, 2015 it happens again. My mother is elderly, easily confused and was very distressed that this situation was happening again. The other complaint I have is that the two salesmen I had contact with (one in August 2014 and one in January 2015) were using the same name on their business card ([redacted], Marketing Director) but were definitely not the same person. Is this legal? It is certainly deceiving. Thank you, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I want this company to immediately cease contacting my mother by phone, mail and in person visits. I also would like this complaint to be posted on the Revdex.com website as I am sure there are others out there who are experiencing the same problems.

Business

Response:

We went out to the customer's house on January 28th to inspect the issues with the French Doors. The customer lives in a very high wind area surrounded by open fields, which is the problem. We have some weather stipping on order and once it comes in we will put it on the doors and see how it pans out. We will keep you updated once the weather stripping is put on the doors.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: Ipurchased 7 windows from K Designers of Billings Montana in November of 2013.The windows were installed on November 22 2013 at address [redacted]. The sales amount was $11,187.98InFebruary of 2014 the windows began to show signs of leakage. The windows had a3 inch ice build up along the bottom and in the corners. Photographs were takenof the ice build up.[redacted]and I both phoned their office with this compliant several times. [redacted]was spoken to about this issue by phone. [redacted] stated he was in a meeting andwould phone us back after his meeting, He never did. Furthermore, [redacted] stoppedby K Designers store in Billings and spoke with a receptionist about the issue. The receptionist stated she would notify the proper people and that someonewould contact her back. Once again no one contacted us back. It’sbeen a year of trying to resolve the issue with them and It is obvious K Designersdoes not have any intentions of resolving our complaint. K Designers has provenquite fickle and has shown no attempt in resolving this matter after beingcontacted by us several times. We do not know what to do and feel we have beentaken advantage of. Is there way that your agency can assist us? We wouldsincerely appreciate it. Thank you.Desired Settlement: Please see complaint.

Business

Response:

A few new windows were on order but the customer didn't know that, but they know that now and seem to be happy when we talked to them on Wednesday January 14,2015. The new windows should be installed by 1/28/2015 or before. We will inform you once the instal has been completed and the customer is 100% satisfied

Review: Unsolicited call. I interrupted the sales spiel and when I mentioned that a reputable business does not have to violate the federal do not call registry, he said: "You didn't let me finish, we are calling on behalf of charity XYZ". This is obviously a scam to allow them to place unsolicited calls violating the registry. K-Designers needs to stop this business. They prominently display an "A+" Revdex.com accreditation on their website. They certainly do NOT deserve this rating. Reputable businesses do not behave this way.Desired Settlement: K Designers displays the Revdex.com Accredited Business logo on their home page. They knowingly violate the Do Not Call registry, which is a bad business practice. Either they need to stop calling people on the DNC registry, or they should lose their Revdex.com accreditation.

Business

Response:

We have placed this customer on our Do Not Call list and our Call Center manager is also sending him an email.

Review: On 11/24/2014 at 5:15 p.m. MST My Spouse received a call from [redacted] or [redacted] at K-Designers offering to give us a quote for home upgrades. The sales person was extremely pushy and would not take no for an answer. He informed her that he would send some one to our home tonight at 8:30 p.m. and we could expect a nice surprise when that person arrived. Once again she told him "no" again he informed her he needed a certain number of people to say "Yes" or he would get "fired" then continued to argue that someone would be coming to our home. Again he was told no. This call lasted almost 30 minutes and he was insistent that someone would be coming to give us an estimate. The only reason the call lasted so long was this person had our address and stated someone would be at our home soon to give us the estimate and surprise. The practices and tactics we endured tonight are the most aggressive and pushy I have ever heard. I attempted to call this company at the number on their web site and after many attempts only received a message to leave my info and they would call me back. I did respond to the online contact info and am awaiting a response. The first icon on there website is their A+ Revdex.com rating. This is a definite mistake if their sales people use these tactics.Desired Settlement: Stop these practices and reprimand the employee. This person scared my wife and family by insisting someone is coming to our home after numerous requests that we did not want there services. There is no call for this type of sales tactic. Also the employee's job security or pressure to be terminated is not a valid reason to use their services. I would also like the company to remove my number and address for their system and agree to never contact me again after the situation is resolved.

Business

Response:

This persons phone number was added to our "Do Not Call" list

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: Simply removing me is a good step but this business did not make any type of explanation or apology for the action. They sent me an email with only the subject message " I will put you on k-designers do not call list?" This is tells me about the company's view on people and a very poor way to resolve the situation. I feel the behavior will continue and there was no attempt to protect future customers. An apology and explanation goes a long way to resolve these situations. I would like the contact information for owner or someone who can give serious explanation.

Review: Illegal telemarketing activity is being conducted by K-Designers, which is registered under All-West Distributors which is registered under [redacted] Enterprises.

They continue to call my phone which is on both the federal and Colorado Do Not Call lists.

Desired Settlement: I intend to sue them in small claims court for $500 per call, which as been numerous, plus $500 for not submitting to me their Do Not Call policy plus $500 for not placing me on their DNC list, which they no doubt do not have.

K-Designers made no attempt to solicit funds for Building Youth Around the World.Their use of the non-profit is simply to circumvent Federal law regarding unsolicited telephone calls.

Review: I had windows and a patio door installed last year and the patio door was never sealed properly. I had water enter my basement twice over the spring time. Has someone come out to inspect it. They returned and sealed the patio door area and said their installer would return to fix. The installer never came and the company said he did and were going to schedule a time for the installed to repaint the basement ceiling to fix the stains. This has been going on since the end of April and no one ever calls back to schedule a time to fix the issues I still have.Desired Settlement: I need the patio door flashing to be removed and more structure to be added so when someone steps on the large flashing it doesn't break the caulk. I need the door resealed and the basement ceiling repainted.

Review: We purchased new windows in February 2013, windows were not properly installed. Wind blows in around them and Frost and ice form inside the windows.

Windows were purchased Feb. 2013 for $12,928.77. The windows were financed through Green Sky financing, done by K Designers. Sales rep [redacted]. Made promises of lower heat and cooling bills. HE said they would do studies of our heating bills to see the savings. As far as I know that was never done. The windows arrived 5-6 weeks later. They were installede in 2 days. HAlf way through the 1st day one of the installers injured himself and had to go to the hospital to be treated. This put them behind schedual and in a rush. I came home at noon the second day and they were finished, loaded up to go with one of them waiting for me to inspect the work. There was not much time, I felt rushed and signed off. and they left. As was arrainged the inside trim was left off so I could put new trim on. As I was working on every window I found spaces around them that had not been insulated and you could feel wind blowing in. I got foam insulation myself and did them. When It started getting cold in December all the windows started forming condensation along the bottoms of the windows inside of the house. When you hold your hand along the bottoms of the windows by the trim you can feel cold air commimg in. These are sliding windows and were they meet with the stationary part of the window you can feel cold air. This was supposed to be one of the selling points of the windows was how well they seal. Further inspection outside found they did not chaulk around the molding they took off and reinstalled or around the aluminum they wrapped it with. When installing the windows they purchased boards at a local lumber yard for the sills and said it was not what they needed but would make it work. I feel the way the sills were installed is one of the biggest problems with the installation. Insulation can not be properly installed to make them sealed right. My wife contacted someone from K Designers Omaha office the begining of December and told them of the problems, they said a work order request would be sent. It never came, she contacted Ken at the Omaha office, who siad one would be sent and also tried to tell her that moisture was normal. As of December 23rd we still had not been contacted about some one coming to inspect the windows. That morning there was frost on the the trim around several windows and ice in the tracks of others. I have pictures of this. I called the Omaha office and talked to [redacted] the salesman who sold us the windows and told him the problems we were having. He assured me a serviceman would call that day to talk to us about setting an appointment to come out. As of today no one has called. If you call their office during off hours you can't leave a message. These windows have not lived up the the promises that were made. They keep making promises to send some one to fix the problem and have not done this.Desired Settlement: What we want done is to have these windows properly installed and insulated. The only way I feel this could be properly done is for them to be removed and reinstalled correctly. When I talked to [redacted] on Dec. 23rd 2013 he said he wished we would have contacted him sooner. He said this was not the way they do business. He said they would make this right even if it meant putting in new windows. I want them to live up to their promises and make this right. we spent alot of money on these windows and so far they are a dissapointment.

Review:

I am rejecting this response because: As far as the work that was done on the outside of the house, we are satisfied with it. The contractor did very good work. He was courteous and professional. He stopped the wind that was coming in around the windows. we are still having issues with condensation on the glass where the windows seal. In some places with blinds the condensation is very heavy. One of the major selling points of these windows was supposed to be how well they sealed. We feel they are not performing as we were told they would and will be talking to K Designers about this. I have attached a picture of one of the windows (taken 01/19/14) showing the condensation that forms overnight when the blind is pulled down. The temperature was 19 degrees that night. When it gets colder the condensation is heavier.

Sincerely,

Our production office has talked to Mr. [redacted] several times. The next step is a de-humiditfier. We are waiting for Mr. [redacted] to call back to schedule a time to go back over to the home and set up.

Review: Consumer states that the company sided their home about 7 1/2 years ago. This past June some of the siding started to fall off.
