La'Pura Skin Care Reviews (%countItem)

They keep charging my account.
on August 19, 2019 I filled out an online entry for a $50.00 gift card for Costco. As an entry gift you got to choose from several different items. I chose la'pura trials. I only had to pay for shipping for these 3 different small trials for a total of $28.85. No problem. Received product 6 days later. On September 2 they charged my account $89.99 and on September 4 again a charge of $69.99. Tried calling several times but phone rings forever and no one ever picks up. This sounds so common to the rest of the complaints. Want to contact them and send products back cause I'm not using them anyway.

Desired Outcome

Just am seeking my money back. I'll pay the $28.85 for them to send the free trials size products but want the rest returned to my account

False advertisement. Reoccurring payments when offered a "free sample". Terrible terrible customer service.
I received an offer to try this sample for free, just $4.95 for S&H. Read and reread all of the terms just to make sure. NO where did it state any other charges, reoccurring payments, or having to cancel a subscription (that I never signed up for or agreed to). I was out of town when I received a charge on my debit card for $89.99 from La Pura. I called the customer service number. After being on hold for quite awhile, I asked the representative about the charges. He stated that the "free sample" was only a 5 day trial and if not returned within 5 days of the delivery date, I had to pay $89.99 for the tiny 1oz sample I received. I asked him where it stated that. He said in the terms. So I proceeded to reread the terms again, for a 3rd time. NO where does it state that. Besides that, I told him that I was out of town for over a week already and have not even been home to receive the product, whether I wanted to keep it and pay the money or not. He kept asking me how I liked the product. I was trying to explain to him that I couldn't tell him how I like it because I'm not home to receive it! His only response was I'm sorry mam, it says the product was delivered on August 5th and you're past the 5 day trial window so you get charged for the product you received. I went back and forth with him for at least 20 minutes about not agreeing to these terms, being out of town so I wasn't able to receive and even have the product in my possession for 5 days, I asked to speak to his manager or anyone above him. After putting me on hold for another 7 minutes, he came back on the line to tell me that his manager was "in a meeting" at 7:00 on a Sunday night. I said I would hold and wait for him. He ignored that to ask me if I wanted to cancel my subscription. I said no, not before I speak to someone that is going to give me my money back. He said it wasn't possible that night so I said I want a call back from your manager. He said I would get a call back from his superior within 2 days. He promised no more than 48 hours. I double checked that they had my correct number. I never received a single attempted call back. It's been 2 weeks and now I just got another charge for $94.94.

Desired Outcome

I want my money back for the false advertising, binding contract that I never agreed to, and reoccurring charges.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I partially accept the original response. I checked my phone records and am positive that I never received a voicemail. With that being said, I appreciate the apology and the refund of the one charge for $94.94. But I was charged in total, 3 times. I will even just accept and eat one of the charges of $94.94, but I would at least like my refund for the initial charge of $89.99. I have no problem returning the products considering they have not even been opened.

Customer Response • Oct 25, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

I was under the impression they offered a free 30 day trial.
I first received an email from Kohl's department store asking me to take a survey in which I could redeem an offer worth it least $50. I took the survey regarding all information about the store itself and it directed me to a page where I can choose my "free offer". I chose the la' Pura eye serum and it directed me to their website for the free offer, where I learned I would have to pay $4.95 shipping, but the serum itself said zero dollars. After I put my credit card information in and hit the next button they tried to sell me something else and I clicked the "no I don't want this offer button" and they told me that my order had been completed and I was charged $19.99 for the eye serum plus the $4.95 for shipping making it a total of $24.94. I immediately called the customer service phone number and was told I didn't get the "free" product because I had used a MasterCard. They would not refund my money because the shipping label had already been created and the product was already on its way to me... within the 5 minutes of me placing the order. I asked to speak to a supervisor, they were unavailable. I kept getting put on hold and the broken-English speaking gentleman kept returning saying they could make an exception for me and give me a free month supply, then again 30% refund, then 50% refund, and every time I refused his offer, he found another way to discount and refund me more money. I never got the full refund. And I'm still, forcibly, getting the product. I was tired of being on the phone with him and I'm sure he could've adjusted the bill to $0 had I kept giving him a hard time. Such a scam!!!!!!

Desired Outcome

I want 100% of my money returned. Change the website to show "this is a scam" "MasterCard users get charged extra" and DO NOT PROVIDE a "no I don't want this offer" button if it takes you to the next page and charges you for things you didn't agree to.

I signed up for a free trial and after 14 days was charged $89.99. This was not explained in the Free Trial literature, as I would NOT have signed up. I called to cancel the order and was told I could not cancel unless I had another 14 day trial. They charged the card on day 13! I want to ensure that I receive my refund.

Desired Outcome

Refund of $89.99 charged on my card on 8/25/19.

Only 1 Star because I had to in order to continue with the review. The company does not practice good ethics. The add on to your order and my charges came from 2 different companies. I understand the term "trial" but I read through their terms and conditions and couldn't find a notice of trial & cancellation dates. You cannot opt out of any add on to your order. Stay away! I had to cancel my credit card, dispute charges, call all charging companies to cancel any further product and I don't even have the product yet. They told me it shipped but I don't have a shipping confirmation. Lastly, they are using Meghan Markle as an advertisement. I wonder if she knows about it.

Unauthorized charges when making a purchase. Refund requested immediately after purchase. Customer service representative was deceitful re refund.
On 8/21/19 at 9:39 am I placed an order for a product with this company for an eye serum. My order number was *** The website requires the consumer to click a "proceed to checkout" button multiple times before bringing you to your order confirmation page. Unbeknownst to the consumer, every time the "proceed to checkout" is clicked the website adds another product to your purchase. There is no way to see this additional product and charge until you are brought to the confirmation page. You are required to give your credit card information before being prompted to "proceed to checkout" and therefore these unauthorized purchases are immediately charged. The product I was supposed to pay $4.95 for shipping only, became a purchase of three products totaling $74.84. Upon seeing these purchases on the completed order confirmation page I immediately contacted the company's customer service. I called at 9:43 am, a mere four minutes after the order was placed. The sales rep did not give me his name. I requested a cancellation of the order along with a full refund of the purchase price to my card. Initially the rep stated it would be difficult to refund my card and instead could send an additional product for free. I explained I did not want any of the products and would like a full refund as the order was placed less than five minutes prior. After minutes of back and forth, the rep stated he actually could refund 35% of the purchase price and I could keep the products. Again, I explained that I did not want any of the products and just wanted a refund which I now know he could give since he offered a 35% refund. The rep insisted that he was unauthorized to give more than a 35% refund. Again, after minutes of heated discussion the rep then said he could offer a 60% refund. I then asked to speak to his manager or supervisor to which he replied that he was the authorized person to speak to regarding the matter. The rep insisted again that 60% was the highest refund amount he could offer. Once again after minutes of persistence and demands that I receive a full refund, the rep stated he could offer a 70% refund and he was not authorized to offer anything higher. I kept demanding a full refund. After minutes of essentially arguing back and forth for the fourth time the rep stated that he spoke to his manager and would refund the purchase price. The entire telephone transaction took approximately 25 minutes. It is very clear the rep had full authorization and ability to refund the full purchase price from the beginning. The entire website is a scam and the representatives follow deceitful practices. If it was not for my persistence, I would have been forced into an unauthorized $75 sale. Please shut the company down.

Desired Outcome

As it appears that this is one of many similar complaints, action must be taken. Requesting responses from the business have been futile. As such, the website should be disabled until these problems are corrected, if ever.

Scammed me today. Had my credit card company be on the line with me and finally got my money back. Total fast talking scammers.

It was not stated anywhere on the free trial website that I ordered from that they were going to charge my card 89.99 after 14 days.
I was not allowed a refund when my debit/credit card was charged after 14 days. No where on there website does it state the amount they will charge or the number of days you have to cancel. I ordered the product July 31 2019 and received it Aug 4 2019. They charged my card 89.99 Aug 14 2019.My order number was EXXXXXXC92. I ordered the free trial of la pura anti-aging cream.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking to get a refund of 89.99 back to my debit/credit card. This is what I paid for the "free" trial. I was not given the full 14 days that the customer service rep says I was given. Anyhow, th

They keep charging my credit card with out me knowing about it and I really want to cancel it completely
Credit card

Desired Outcome

My money back and stop charging my credit card

I just wanted the free trial. They billed me for the whole month. I am in the process of sending all of it back. I need them to credit my card.
I would like to be credited the $89.00 on my Discover Card, as I did not want the monthly products. I only wnated the free trial.

Desired Outcome

I need them to send me a check or credit my Discover Card. I am in the process of returning the unwanted products. I have been ill and unable to send the product back. I will send during he next week. Aug. 12-20, 2019.

Customer Response • Aug 28, 2019

I did send the contents of the La'Pura products back to the company, but as yet have had no response. No one has contacted me as yet, but I will let you know. I sent the products back on the first week of august, 2019.

I GIVE ZERO STARS, if it were possible. This ordering process is a total scam. There was no way for me to confirm my trial order after seeing the unbelievable add-on shipping and handling charges. The charges were added on before I approved payment, but it went through without my approval. I called within minutes of it going through. After getting the run around for ten minutes, I just told them to cancel my order. They had not shipped this order yet and still they were telling me they were going to add on a return/restocking fee that was more than the cost of the trial product itself. I have never had this kind of an outright dishonest transaction.
ZERO STARS

Did not say you would be enrolled in a subscription if you didn't tell them to stop after your free bottle until a long way below where you sign up.
On 5/29/19, I requested a free bottle of La Pura Wrinkle freezing Moisturizer.I paid the postage of 4.95 for what I thought was a sample. The next month, I received another bottle and I figured they just made a mistake. When I got a third bottle, I realized that something was wrong. I asked my husband if we were being charged on our credit card bill. He said that he thought it was something that I requested. I called customer service and was told that I did request a subscription but they would cancel the subscription. When I looked again at the ad(https://www.try-la-pura-skincare.com),I realized that at the bottom of the very long page, below nine sections with flashing green arrows that say "get your free bottle" and where you were advised to give your mailing and billing information,it said under "terms and conditions" that if you didn't tell them to stop within 14 days, you would be billed for a monthly subscription. By that time I had already requested the free bottle and thought that was all it would be. In total, they had taken 4.95, 89.99, 94.94 and another 94.94 from our credit card (284.82). I have not opened any of the sealed bottles. I would like a refund of the money paid out and a postage paid-mailing label so that I can mail them back to them. I have never before been charged for a subscription without it being very clear when I gave my mailing and billing information that it would be a recurring subscription if I did not get back to them. The ad was purposely deceptive in my opinion.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund of $284.82 for the three bottles that I received plus a postage-paid label for me to mail the cream back to them.

I have received a refund from LaPura for the last two jars (94.94 and 94.94) with no requirement that I return the jars. I wrote twice to ask about the refund that I requested for 89.99 plus 4.95 postage that I paid for the first jar. I have not received an answer.

Hello,
In regards to Ms. follow up request, we have gone ahead and issued the refund for $89.99 charged 6/15. Typically postage is not refundable as the funds are used to ship the product ordered. We have made an exception here and refunded the $4.95 as well.

Customer Response • Nov 20, 2019

I have received all requested refunds. Consider the case successfully resolved.

This company offered a "sample" of product for $4.95 S&H. I went to checkout and the price came up to $54.95 reflecting products that I didn't
order.
The offer was to purchase a sample of the cream for $4.95 S&H. When I went to checkout, the total order came up to $54.95. All of this after you submit the order. I immediately called the customer support and was given a cancellation number. I called my credit card company and they waned to know if they would back out the transaction. I called CS and they advised I was only going to get 35% of the total order, then she offered me 60% back of the total order. After we got into a verbal confrontation she told me they were going to send me the product anyway. Very deceptive and somewhat fraudulent on their part to advertise for $4.95 and then the screen just reflects a higher price than what was initially advertised. This product is geared to target older people which makes it even more offensive. There were no disclosures or written verbiage to advise that they are attaching to your order AND signing you up for auto shipping without your permission. I was also told that I couldn't get a refund because "the shipping label had already been created" and ready to be sent out. Note: I just ordered the product not even an hour ago.

Desired Outcome

I want a complete refund from the company. My credit card company (not my bank) has advised they will need to back out the charges or this could take awhile to resolve.

Customer Response • Aug 15, 2019

The company refunded me a partial sum of my refund. They INSISTED on sending me the product and for that I guess they should get more than the $4.95 original offer online. They refunded me 70% of $54.95 that they cheated me out of. I feel absolutely detest this type of "bait and switch" advertising. I am sure they are doing it to others as they have a trove of bad reviews on line. Wish I had read them before I ordered.Companies like this should be monetarily penalized.

Would give 0 stars if I could. They immediately, without my consent, added serum (19.99 plus handling) to my order and no way to delete the serum. Should have been a RED FLAG. Email la'pura for deletion of serum but to no avail. Called to cancelled and was told I would have to return used portion, pay all return charges, plus a restocking fee (are they redistributing unused/returned products?). Gave me a 2 week extension and 60% discount for next billing. I will call back to cancel because products DOES NOT WORK and I don't trust this company. Your best bet is to discuss with your bank as far as recourse goes. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY...THE PRODUCTS DOES NOT WORK!!!

Placed order for a trial size la Pura cream. Entered credit card information and instead of being billed approx $5.00 was billed almost $80.00.
This company gave no indication in their advertising information you would be signing up for regularly monthly shipments. I have not attempted to get a refund from this company yet but their misrepresentation makes me want nothing more to do with this company and their unethical practices. I only wanted to try the trial size to see if I liked the product first. No one should order from this company. I want a full refund because there is a huge difference in a trial size price of a product and almost $80.00 cost that was taken from my debt card. I was astonished when the total came up at the end of my transaction.

Desired Outcome

A full refund.

Advertised as a free trial and shipping costs are billed to my account only...weeks later two separate charges of $69.99 and $89.99
false advertising and unauthorized billing to my accounts...Advertised as a free trial and shipping costs are billed to my account only...weeks later two separate charges of $69.99 and $89.99

Please help me resolve this issue. They charged me $89.99 on my credit card after I had called to cancel my subscription. Thank you

A refund.

I was charged $89.99 for face cream and $34.99 for eye serum w/o my knowledge or approval. After returning unused products, I wasn't given a refund.
Unused product was returned via UPS tracking number 1Z0389AXXXXXXXXXXX. Merchant declined to provide a full refund - $89.99 for skin cream and $34.99 for eye serum even though orders were cancelled. Offer was claimed to be "free". Offer (shipping not included) was paid 6/8 and cancelled on 6/24. All products were returned unopened to the Odessa address via UPS on 6/25. Merchant denies receipt of products and refuses to provide a full refund as of today's date 7/3/19. Payment was made through Discover. Customer service representative was extremely unhelpful and unwilling to work out any suitable arrangement.

Desired Outcome

Full refund of $89.99 for returned skin cream and $34.99 for unused eye serum. Total refund to be $124.98

Customer Response • Jul 18, 2019

The matter has been satisfactorily settled. The company has reimbursed me the full amount of money requested. As far as I am concerned, this case is closed! '''

After returning ordered items within the time period and rcvng email confirmation of cancellation.I was still charged for a subscribtion.
I ordered face and eye cream trial and when I received the items there were not quite what is described. I called and obtained an RNA number and I also received an email confirmation when they received the products back that my subscription was cancelled.
I was also however charged for the product and after several attempts with customer service am being told there is no refund policy even though they have the products back and my money.

Desired Outcome

I just want my money back. I made a terrible mistake ordering a subscription as it is not clear on their site that is what shall happen until it is too late to get your money refunded.
