Review: PRIVACY. I received a subscription to [redacted] magazine I did not authorize. I called the publisher who said that it was a subscription given with some purchase I made via 2 Media. They Several attempts to actually talk to someone at M2 Media resulted in circular voice menus that did not give an option to speak to a representative. Not only do I not want a teenager magazine, I want to know HOW they got my address and what other information they have. I do not want my name and address shared without my knowledge and I would like to trace this subscription back to the source of this privacy leak. I recently had my debit card hacked and I want assurance that this is not related. I want this company to allow a person to speak to me, answer my questions and tell me what business shared my information so I can let them know why I will no longer conduct business with them. I will also share my dissatisfaction and cautions through social medi if I am not satisfied.Desired Settlement: Cancel subscription. Block this company from using or sharing my personal information in perpetuity. Speak to a customer service representative in person. Be given the name of the source who provided my name and address and ordered this magazine for me.Receive assurances that my financial information is not available to them and has not been shared with any other partieds since they acquired it without my knowledge.

Review: I began receiving "Essence" magazine, and my husband has been receiving "Men's Health" and these were NOT ordered by us, and there is noone to contact

I began receiving copies of [redacted] Magazine" and my husband began receiving [redacted] Health" -- we NEVER subscribe to magazines, did not order these, and do not want the offensive things delivered to our house. I finally got a "renew your subscription" notice so that I now have access to an account #. I called the Essence Mag people and complained and they said I was signed up by M2MediaGroup and gave me their 866 number. As everyone else has said, it's just an automated phone message that never allows you to reach a person. I called the number on the Revdex.com website for them and there was no answer, just a voicemail. Neither I nor my husband made ANY online purchases the day this subscription was begun, and did not buy anything from [redacted] or [redacted] -- WHO HAS MY INFORMATION, IS MY CREDIT CARD BEING USED, AND WHY CAN'T I CONTACT A PERSON TO TALK ABOUT THIS PROBLEM??! This is fraud!Desired Settlement: I do not want to EVER receive magazines from this service again, I do NOT want my information to be used in anyway by this or another service. I want 100% assurance that my personal information and credit card are not being used by this or any other fraudulent company. I want A PERSON TO ANSWER THE PHONE and to not be directed to shady https: websites asking for more of my personal information. I want all of these subscriptions cancelled. I want an APOLOGY.

Review: I have been receiving magazines from all different subscriptions that I never ordered. When I called I received an automated voice prompting me to contact Blue Dolphin through their website. When I tried their website did not work. I am still on a daily basis receiving magazine subscriptions and more than one that my postal worker is having a difficult time fitting my regular mail in my mail box. I never ordered thses subscriptions and want them to stop.Desired Settlement: That Blue Dolphin takes my name off their list and I would like to know how they got my name and that I do not receive subscriptions of any kind that I did not order myself.

Review: I received a subscription to a magazine that I did not subscribe to. I called the magazine's customer service line and was told I *WAS NOT ALLOWED* to cancel and was referred to M2 Media to cancel the subscription I did not request! I feel that my personal information was obtained fraudulently for this transaction or, at the very least, deceptively.Desired Settlement: I want to removed from whatever online subscription service M2 Media is linked with. I do not want any magazines from M2 Media and I do not want M2 Media to contact me. I want the current subscription canceled immediately.

Review: I have been receiving magazine subscriptions from this company that I have not subscribed to and I cannot get them to answer the phone; the only options I am presented with is to either (1) contact them by email or (2) write to them. I have contacted the magazine publisher and they have agreed not to send me future magazines; however, they also suggested that I contact M2 Mags. Again, cannot get through using the phone number given to me by the magazine publisher.Desired Settlement: I also want M2 Mags to scrub and OPT my name out of their system and no contact from ALL of their affiliations.

Hello

I have heard from Media Group and they promised to stop the unwanted subscription.

I asked them not to sell my name/address to other companies, but businesses like that cannot be trusted. What they do might be legal, but it is totally disgusting. We need a better law to deal with such companies.

I am rejecting this response because: If the magazine was a free offer from the purchase I made with [redacted]l, then I should receive it. I did not get any paperwork indicating this fact. It did not state this from the order I made. I think cancelling is not a option if there are no further costs to me, as it appears from the large order I made with [redacted]l it was part of their customer service. I just wanted to make sure I would not be charged for something I did not order. Thank you.

Response:

Hello,

Review: Over the past two days, I have received 2 magazine subscriptions in the mail that I did not order. When contacted, each magazine said that the subscription was ordered from them by M2 Media Group and gave me the phone number. There is no live person on that number and so I had to go to the web site to try to cancel the subscriptions. My concerns are that 1) I did not order this so this company got my name and address from somewhere else without my permission; and 2) that there is no way to find out from M2 Media group why this is happening and discuss with a customer service person. Fortunately, I have a computer so I can go to the web site and try to cancel these. Unfortunately, there is no way to find out how this all happened in the first place. This kind of practice preys on people and seems to coerce them into buying magazines they do not want. It also highlights illegal business practices that use a person's personal information without permission (should this "subscription" be a reward or some other kind of incentive program, the person should be notified of this). What a waste of money, time and customer regard this is for the magazines involved and for the M2 Media Group.Desired Settlement: I would like a full written explanation of the process that resulted in my receiving these two subscriptions, a written statement that I owe nothing for these subscriptions, written confirmation that my name has been deleted from their files, and a written apology from M2 Media Group for this situation

Review: I paid for a year subscription of a magazine last December. I was just informed I had to cancel it now or be charged, in September. To date, I have received 2 of the 9 promised copies. When I signed up, I was offered several additional magazines for $2 a piece to try for a year, also starting in December. Around March or April the first magazine showed up. One, [redacted], I finally got in July after arguing extensively with their internal folks, who email reply system is laughable. The other magazines which were supposed to come out bi-monthly or monthly showed up for a bit and then just stopped. To date, I only got [redacted] and [redacted] semi-regularly for 7 months. [redacted] I got one magazine, [redacted] one magazine, and [redacted] I got 2 magazines (of 9). I also started receiving magazines that I did not order. I emailed one the magazines and was told that M2 Media Group was responsible for the unauthorized subscriptions. The magazine refused to cancel the subscription, saying I'd have to contact M2. Yet M2 Media Group makes themselves impossible to reach. This is an absurd and unfair business practice. This has taken up hours of my time to try to get these magazines to stop arriving. One is also gossip magazine and it is humiliating that my husband and children thought I'd order it!!!

Review: A [redacted] subscription was processed by M2 Media in my name on 1/29/2015. I started receiving the magazine and had no idea why because I never ordered it. I come to find out that there is an ongoing scam going on between M2 and [redacted] and I believe this is where this is the origin of this unauthorized subscription. I placed an order with [redacted] in December. I NEVER authorized a subscription to [redacted] or to do business with M2 Media group.Desired Settlement: 1. Immediate cancellation of this subscription.

2. No charges to appear from M2 or [redacted].

3. Permanent elimination of my personal and financial information from M2's data bank.

4. A letter from M2 stating that 1 - 3 has occurred.

5. Revdex.com ** & the [redacted] stop M2 from doing this. his has been an ongoing practice for years with thousands of complaints regarding the practice. A letter confirming that the ** authorities care about the elimination pof this type of consumer fraud by M2 and companies such as [redacted] would be helpful. Seems no one cares & M2 marches on.

Review: [redacted]

I received a magazine which I did not subscribe for. The practice described by M2 Mags "The magazine was included as a bonus offer with your purchase. By default, the subscription was sent to the billing address used during your purchase." is wrong an needs to stop. I will ask for things that I want to have sent to me and I should actively and knowingly request for the good or service. This practice needs to stop because I have been worried sick about unauthorized disclosure of my personal information in addition to wasting my valuable time researching and shutting down something I did not request. NO PASSIVE AUTHORITY should be allowed. If a customer wants something they need to request it, always! Funny how this works. This case it was [redacted] as the source of the information, preciously it was [redacted] and I am sure there are other firms selling teir customer information to other purveyors of unwanted magazine subscriptions.

Review: M2 Media group registered me for an automatically renewing subscription to The [redacted] without my knowledge or consent. According to The [redacted], the subscription began February 28 2015 - I do not have any record of this initial charge, and I was not billed. I was first billed when the subscription renewed on June 18 for $48.00, for which I have begun a dispute with [redacted]. The subscription is not in my correct name., but they do have my address and phone number. The [redacted] magazine cannot cancel this subscription, and cannot offer me a refund as a result.Desired Settlement: I would like the subscription terminated, and a refund of the unauthorized charge of $48.00 which was paid to The [redacted].

Business

Response:

Dear Mr. [redacted],We are unable to find your account with the given information. To better assist you, please provide the full name and address exactly as shown on the magazine label.

Review: [redacted] aka M2 Marketing is responsible for opening an account under the name [redacted] with [redacted]. They are now sending unsolicited magazines using my name illegally. My name, address, and email was never authorized for their use. On its face this appears to be some type of consumer fraud. I never requested the magazine, nor do I want my name, address, or email address abused in this fashion.Desired Settlement: I want my name, address, email address, and all other information regarding my person or residence completely removed from the records/databases of all parties involved. The parties would be [redacted](M2 Marketing), [redacted], and any other intermediaries or accomplices to this act of fraud. I require a letter stated that I will no longer be harassed with mailings/ products, phone calls, emails, or any other forms of contact ever. Lastly I require some type of legal sanction to prevent this type of fraud from occurring again.

Business

Response:

Review: I am being inundated with magazines I never subscribed to and am now receiving bills for these unauthorized subscriptions. When I called [redacted] Publishing, they informed me that a third party - M2media a/k/a [redacted] - signed me up without my knowledge and consent. I have no intention of paying bills for any such unauthorized subscriptions and if any derogatory information is placed on my credit reports as a result of these Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices, I intend to file a complaint under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and/or the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. I want any such unauthorized subscriptions canc[redacted]d immediately and my name taken off their mailing lists.Desired Settlement: I want any such unauthorized subscriptions canc[redacted]d immediately and my name taken off their mailing lists. If their scam involves any type of [redacted] (auto renewal) clause I want any such auto renewal canc[redacted]d ASAP.

Business

Response:

Review: I did NOT sign up for a subscription to [redacted] magazine yet I am receiving it in the mail. The magazine customer service told me it was sold through M2 Media Group and that they couldn't do anything. They gave me a number to call. When you call that number, you cannot get a human on the phone, nor can you cancel your subscription in an automated way. When you try to access the website they give you on a recording, it endlessly says there was some sort of a server error and to try again. If you google this issue, there are literally HUNDREDS of complaints about people getting magazines they never signed up for. It is ridiculous and they need to STOP this practice.Desired Settlement: If they charged me, I demand a refund. The recording said it was a "free" subscription - if that is accurate, fine, but I still want it canceled. I honestly can't believe they are allowed to do this, especially with NO WAY to cancel. Why waste the paper? Why kill more trees? Why waste the postage? I don't understand why they are still allowed to do this. Complaints about this go back several years.
