M2 Media Group Reviews (305)

Review: In July 8 of this year (2013), I placed a magazine subscription order through their online magazine subscription website ([redacted]). I received the online purchase confirmation email immediately. I understood this magazine is published quarterly so even though I did not receive the magazine in the mail after 3 months, I was anticipating I would at the very least receive the last issue of the year by mid Nov or Dec. On Nov 19 I emailed their customer service inquiring about my subscription status and received 2 auto-reply emails saying my inquiry will be processed and they will email me a response. After 1 week, I did not receive any response from them so I emailed the customer service again. Again, I received 2 auto-reply emails saying my inquiry will be processed and responded via email. It is now 2 weeks since I received their last auto-reply email, and still I have not heard from them. I am not sure if I have been scammed and I am hoping by filing a complaint through Revdex.com I can obtain a resolution and warn other potential customers about their poor service.Desired Settlement: Refund or confirm that I will receive the product that I paid for back in July.

Review: On July 27, 2013 I contacted [redacted] and informed them they they had not processed my 3 year extension to [redacted]. I had already been reading online that others had been receiving their extensions and so it did not make sense that I had not gotten mine. On July 29, 2013 [redacted]'s customer service responded to me and told me that my extensions would be processed in the coming weeks. So I waited and waited and they still had not processed them. Then on August 31, 2013 I contacted them again about this and I have not heard a word from them. It is wrong to process some people's extensions and not others and it is wrong to not respond. [redacted] has terrible organization skills and they need to brush up on customer service.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I want my 3 years extension to [redacted] processed and I want confirmation sent via email.

Consumer

Response:

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

They have claimed they have processed my orders, but I am still going to watch to see if my subscription is extended until 2019. If it is not extended, I will be filing a new complaint.

Dear Ms. [redacted],

According to our records, we forwarded your orders to the Fulfillment House on 07/26/2013 and 08/02/2013. As of now your [redacted] subscription expiration date is February 2017. Your third order was processed on 08/09/2013. Standard delivery time/extension for most magazines is 6 to 10 weeks, depending on the date an order is placed and the publication's frequency. Some monthly magazines and those published less frequently may take a little longer. The updated expiration date will be located on your magazine label of your next issues. We have sent you a personal email regarding this issue if you need any further information.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,

M2 Magazine Support

Review: Without my consent, M 2 Media Group signed me up for a subscription to Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. When the magazine arrived and I called the magazine's subscription department to find out why I had received it and where they got my information, I was told to contact M 2 Media as they had signed me up and could answer any of my questions. The phone number provided to me goes to an automated system that does not have an option for a live person (and dialing zero for an operator in that system gets you disconnected.) The automated number simply tells you to go to their website and fill out forms. I looked online and found another number for M 2 Media which did connect me to a human however that office doesn't have the database in which my name is located and could only offer to take my information and forward it via email to their front office. When I asked for a phone number to talk with someone in the front office I was told that they aren't allowd to give that information out. I did also try calling the phone number listed for the company on your site and reached a message asking to leave your name and number. When looking online I saw numerous examples of this same complaint against the company .

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I would like to know how M 2 Media got my information and how I was signed up to receive a magazine subscrition without my authorization. Lastly, I would like M 2 Media to be required to have a Customer Service phone number with a human on the other end as they are the ones initiating this process.

Review: I have been receiving [redacted] magazines recently. I have not subscribed for them. When the magazine company was contacted they stated that M2 Media Group entered the subscription. It would now be nessecary for me to contact them to stop delivery. The only available way to contact them is through their customer service email which requires more information then I'm willing to supply. And its "header" states "if you want to cancel your subscription". Well, I never subscribed. I would appreciate any assistance you can render to solve this situation. With out a doubt, somewhere in the near future a bill for this magazine will suddenly appear.Desired Settlement: The subscription is fraudulent. I don't want the magazine.

Business

Response:

Review: Received a [redacted] Magazine (July 2015)which I did not authorized. I call [redacted] at [redacted], and their rep said this involved one of their third party partners. But I never authorized anyone to send me a subscription. I tried contacting [redacted] directly, but this company has an automated system, which does not allowed you to speak with a person. How can they send me a magazine without my authorization? The label on the magazine "[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want their representative to contact me directly and remove all my personal information from their system, including every electronic, written format, and social media platforms (third party vendors, suppliers, partners, organizations, companies). I want a Cease and Desist Order enforced.

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted],

Review: Received [redacted] magazine, did not subscribed. Called the magazine and was directed to [redacted] customer service who told me subscription came from M2 Media Group and there was nothing they could do. Was going to call the company but after seeing an inordinate amount of complaints on the internet, was concern that this was some sort of scam. Thought this would be the best course of action was going through the Revdex.comDesired Settlement: Did not request this magazine subscription. Would like it cancelled, and notification of no charges.

Business

Response:

Review: I now have a subscription to [redacted] magazine I didn't request. [redacted] magazine shows the subscription was ordered by M2 Media Group. I cannot cancel the unwanted subscription with [redacted] mag. They say I need to contact M2 Media Group. After a little research online I see there are numerous complaints against M2 Media Group for unwanted magazine subscriptions. I want this cancelled now. If I call or email M2 Media Group they will have my phone number or email address. I don't care to provide that info to cancel something I didn't order. What their angle here? What is the best way to handle this? Thank you for your time, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like the [redacted] magazine subscription cancelled.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely,

Review: I am receiving [redacted] magazine. I have not ever signed up for a subscription nor do I want a subscription. When I contacted the magazine to ask why I was receiving it, they informed me that M2 Media Group was the company that was sending me the magazine. I have not signed up for the subscription and insist that it be cancelled with immediate effect. If I want a magazine I am capable of choosing one for myself at my nearest store, I do not need a company from Connecticut sending me crap to my home address. I have read the other complaints, I can only say that I have not bought anything online that entitles me to a "free subscription" and I am almost positive that the other complainants didn't either. I wish for the subscriptions to stop and for my details to be removed from the company's records.Desired Settlement: I insist that the subscription is cancelled and my name and address is removed from the company's records

Review: The name and address of this company was given to me by 2 magazines: [redacted]. So far, I have received one issue of each of these magazines in the mail. Their address labels indicate that they are one full year subscriptions. I did not order these magazines, nor do I want them. I refuse to pay for them. I called each magazine's customer service department and was given the phone # 866-441-1281 and the name M2MediaGroup. I called the number and heard a recording. There was no human available, only a recording. The company name [redacted] was also mentioned on the recording. The recording said to cancel subscriptions, you had to access the following email address: https:[redacted] I followed the directions on the one page website and said that I didn't order the magazines, did not want them, would not pay for them, and wanted the subscriptions cancelled. Please help me with this cancellation process. I'm guessing this is some sort of scam.Desired Settlement: I would like, in writing from this company, that I did not order these magazines, do not have to pay for them, they will be cancelled and that they will send me, or anyone at my home,no other magazine subscriptions or products of any type.

Review: The company keeps charging my credit card for renewals before the time is due.

The company has charged my credit card twice without sending a confirmation email, which their website states they do, and before the renewal date they stated on my account. I have tried to contact them on a few occasions with no luck. My emails keep getting bounced back.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund on the cost of the renewal they charged tomy credit card.

Hello,

The customer has cancelled her renewals for [redacted] and [redacted] magazine on 04/27/2013. A refund in the amount of $29.95 was processed on 04/30/2013.

Review: Apparently M2 Media Group is attempting to subscribe me to a magazine. For 2 weeks now I have received issues of [redacted] Magazine. I am not a fan of any particular sport, I do not read the publication in question nor did I request a subscription of any kind. I contacted [redacted] via there customer service website to stop the deliveries, but I am still receiving this unwanted magazine. I only found out that it was initiated by M2 Meda Group when I called [redacted]'s customer service phone number and managed to speak to a representative. Phone calls to M2 Media Group go unanswered. I have requested cancellation of this unauthorized subscription via M2 Media Groups website.Desired Settlement: M2 Media Group needs to cease & desist immediately. Additionally they need to remove my name & address from their database.

Business

Response:

Review: I have begun receiving unsolicited magazine subscriptions & have learned that M2Media is the source. They are disseminating my name&address.

M2Media is selling/disseminating my name and address. M2Media is signing me up for unwanted subscriptions. Attempts to contact M2Media result in only a recorded message which directs me to supply them with more information. I want to be removed from their database. I do not want them to sign me up for things offered by their trading partners. I do not wish to give them more information. Desired Settlement: Remove myself and my family from their database (all surname [redacted]). Do not further sell or disseminate any information for surname [redacted] to any trading partners.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

In addition to cancellation of the unwanted subscription, I wish to have my information removed from their database so it is not further disseminated Our family wishes for NO offers, bonuses, free gifts or any other to be sent to anyone at our address.

Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2013/05/15) */

M2 Media Group does not sell or share any information. The only purpose for having your address is to mail out the subscription. Once it has been cancelled, we have no further use for your information.

[redacted] instructs customers to check the box to decline the magazine at the time of your purchase.

Sincerely,

M2 Mags Customer Service

I started receiving magazines that I have never heard of and did not order. I called one the magazines and was told that M2 Media Group was responsible for the unauthorized subscriptions. I had never heard of this group before. They also had subscriptions sent to my wife.

M2 Media Group's responses that one is given an option to "opt-out" to subscriptions at checkout is disingenuous. I've definitely avoided/opted-out of the magazine subscription several times from different businesses and have definitely received "crammed" subscriptions. The burden of canceling a subscription should not be placed on the consumer, and recent court precedent is starting to see it that way. In the meantime, people shouldn't order from companies that sell the information to M2 Media Group (such as [redacted] and others), and when my latest unwelcome M2 Media Group subscription ends and I get billed, I hope they try to collect as I'm in touch with a prominent consumer rights lawyer who'd love to try to get class action status for this one.

Review: They got our information from someone and orders us a subscription to a magazine we don't want and never asked for. We did not give them permission.Desired Settlement: Remove our information and do not use it again. Cancel subscription and do not charge us for it as we never asked for it.

Review: I am in receipt of a [redacted] magazine, which I did not order, and DO NOT WANT. I wrote [redacted] the following email and they have failed to respond to my request.

"January 15, 2015

Dear Sir/Madam:

I am in receipt of a [redacted] magazine, which I request the unwanted subscription to, cancelled immediately. Furthermore, any charges submitted to my [redacted] will not be allowed. I DO NOT read magazines, and your prompt attention is requested.

Sincerely, [redacted]"Desired Settlement: My desired remedy to this issue is: 1) to be removed from M2M Media Group and/or [redacted] database, 2) subscription cancelled, and 3) any charges reversed. Your assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Business

Response:

Review: I did not authorize the renewal. Instead received previous notices asking me to renew. Nothing stated automatic renew. Now, in the mail, I have received a notice stating that I have been automatically renewed and that I owe them $15. I have emailed them twice, as they do not provide a phone number to call and have asked to have this cancelled and to not renew as I did not authorize it and have not heard anything back. I would like this cancelled and not renewed. I will never order from them again.Desired Settlement: I would like this subscription cancelled and not to receive anything more from them. If they are auto renewing without advising people first, it seems like a sneaky way to do business and a scam.I would like this matter closed and resolved and to never hear from them again.

Business

Response:

Review: This company is a scam. I have cancelled magazine subscriptions and never received my refunds after several months. The website does not list their number and when I email I do not get a response. I am now receiving bills through the mail for these same subscriptions. This company continues to change their number so you cannot get a hold of them. I also read online that the money is automatically deducted from your account.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the past subscriptions I cancelled and for them to cancel future automatic renewal subscriptions and mailing bills.
